Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard from Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the roof of the mosque in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was made of date palm trunks. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered the sermon, he would stand by a trunk. When the pulpit was made, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to sit on it. The trunk would make a sound like a child crying. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and placed his hand on it, it became quiet.

(٥٦٩٦) انس بن مالک (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے جابربن عبداللہ (رض) سے سنا کہ مسجد کی چھت نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے دور میں کھجور کے تنوں سے بنی ہوئی تھی۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب خطبہ ارشاد فرماتے تو تنے کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوجاتے۔ جب منبر بنا لیا گیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس منبر پر بیٹھنے لگے۔ اس تنے سے بچے کے رونے کی طرح آواز آتی تھی۔ یہاں تک کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تشریف لائے اور اپنا ہاتھ اس پر رکھا تو وہ خاموش ہوگیا۔
Ans bin Malik (RA) farmate hain ke maine Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) se suna ke masjid ki chhat Nabi (SAW) ke dor mein khajoor ke tanon se bani hui thi. Nabi (SAW) jab khuba irshad farmate to tane ke sath kharay hojate. Jab mimbar bana liya gaya to aap (SAW) is mimbar par baithne lage. Is tane se bache ke rone ki tarah aawaz aati thi. Yahan tak ke Rasul Allah (SAW) tashreef laye aur apna hath is par rakha to woh khamosh hogaya.
(5697) Abd al-Aziz ibn Abi Hazim narrates from his father that a group came to Sahl ibn Sa'd, and they were disputing about the wood of the pulpit. He said: I know from what wood it was and who made it. I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sitting on it from the first day. The narrator said: I said: O Abu Abbas, tell us. He said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent a message to a woman - and Abu Hazim named her - that she should order her carpenter slave to make a wooden pulpit for me so that I may sit on it and preach to the people. He made three steps for it. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that it be placed in this place. It was made of tamarisk wood, and I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he stood on it and said the takbir (Allahu Akbar), the people also said Allahu Akbar. Then he bowed, then raised his head from bowing and descended from the pulpit on the other side and prostrated at the foot of the pulpit, then returned until he finished the prayer. Then he faced the people and said: O people, I did this so that you may follow me and learn my prayer.

(٥٦٩٧) عبد العزیز بن أبی حازم اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک گروہ سہل بن سعد کی طرف آیا، وہ منبر کے بارے جھگڑ رہے تھے کہ وہ کس لکڑی کا تھا ؟ وہ فرمانے لگے : میں جانتا ہوں وہ کس لکڑی کا ہے اور کس نے بنایا ہے۔ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو پہلے دن سے دیکھا وہ اس پر بیٹھا کرتے تھے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : اے ابو عباس ! ہمیں بیان کیجیے۔ فرمایا : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک عورت کو پیغام دیا۔ ابو حازم کہتے ہیں : انھوں نے اس کا نام بھی لیا کہ وہ اپنے بڑھئی غلام کو حکم دے کہ وہ میرے لیے لکڑی کا منبر تیار کر دے تاکہ میں اس پر بیٹھ کر لوگوں کو وعظ کروں۔ اس نے اس کی تین سیڑھیاں بنائیں۔ پھر نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حکم دیا اور اسے اس جگہ رکھ دیا گیا۔ یہ جھاؤ کی لکڑی تھی اور میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا کہ آپ نے اس پر کھڑے ہو کر تکبیر یعنی اللہ اکبر کہا تو لوگوں نے بھی اللہ اکبر کہا، پھر رکوع کیا، پھر رکوع سے سر اٹھایا اور الٹے پاؤں منبر سے نیچے اترے اور سجدہ منبر کی جڑ میں کیا، پھر لوٹ گئے یہاں تک کہ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے۔ پھر لوگوں پر متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا : اے لوگو ! میں نے ایسا اس لیے کیا تاکہ تم میری اقتدا کرو اور میری نماز کو سیکھ لو۔
(5697) Abdul Aziz bin Abi Hazim apne wald se naql farmate hain keh ek giroh Sahl bin Saad ki taraf aya, woh mimbar ke bare jhagre rahe the keh woh kis lakri ka tha? Woh farmane lage: mein janta hun woh kis lakri ka hai aur kis ne banaya hai. Mein ne Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko pehle din se dekha woh is par betha karte the. Rawi kehte hain: mein ne kaha: aye Abu Abbas! Hamein bayan kijiye. Farmaya: Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek aurat ko pegham diya. Abu Hazim kehte hain: unhon ne is ka naam bhi liya keh woh apne barhai ghulam ko hukum de keh woh mere liye lakri ka mimbar taiyar kar de take mein is par beth kar logon ko waz karun. Is ne is ki teen seedhiyan banayein. Phir Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne hukum diya aur ise is jagah rakh diya gaya. Yeh jhao ki lakri thi aur mein ne Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha keh aap ne is par kharay ho kar takbeer yani Allah Akbar kaha to logon ne bhi Allah Akbar kaha, phir rukooh kiya, phir rukooh se sar uthaya aur ulte paon mimbar se neeche utre aur sijda mimbar ki jar mein kiya, phir laut gaye yahan tak keh namaz se farigh huye. Phir logon par mutawajjah huye aur farmaya: aye logo! Mein ne aisa is liye kiya take tum meri iqtida karo aur meri namaz ko seekh lo.
(5698) Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood near a tree on Friday. A woman or a man from the Ansar said: "O Messenger of Allah! Shall we not make a pulpit for you?" He said: "Make one if you wish." So they made a pulpit. When Friday came and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went towards the pulpit, the trunk of the date-palm began to cry like a child. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came down from the pulpit and embraced it, and it became quiet. He said that it was crying because of the remembrance of Allah that it used to hear.

(٥٦٩٨) جابر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جمعہ کے دن ایک درخت کے پاس کھڑے ہوئے۔ انصار کی ایک عورت یا مرد نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا ہم منبر نہ بنادیں ؟ فرمایا : اگر چاہتے ہو تو بنادو ۔ انھوں نے منبر بنادیا۔ جب جمعہ کا دن ہوا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) منبر کی طرف گئے تو وہ کھجور کا تنا بچے کی طرح رونے لگا۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) منبر سے اترے اور اس کو اپنے ساتھ ملایا تو وہ خاموش ہوگیا۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ اس بنا پر رو رہا تھا جو وہ ذکر سنا کرتا تھا۔
(5698) Jabir (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah (SAW) juma ke din ek darakht ke pass kharay huay. Ansar ki ek aurat ya mard ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kya hum mimbar na banadain? Farmaya: Agar chahte ho to banado. Unhon ne mimbar banadaya. Jab juma ka din hua aur aap (SAW) mimbar ki taraf gaye to woh khajoor ka tana bache ki tarah ronay laga. Nabi (SAW) mimbar se utre aur usko apne saath milaya to woh khamosh hogaya. Farmate hain ki woh is bana par ro raha tha jo woh zikr suna karta tha.
Nafi' narrates from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that Tamim Dari said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he (the Prophet) became burdened: “Shall I not make a pulpit for you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so that you may sit on it? Then you may address the gathering or say something else.” So he (Tamim Dari) made two or three steps for him (the Prophet). Then, when he (the Prophet) sat on it, the entire mosque resounded (with voices). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would lean on it and deliver the sermon. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came down from the pulpit and kept it by his side and spoke something to it. I do not know what he (the Prophet) said. Then he (the Prophet) went up to the pulpit. In those days, the pillars of the mosque were made of trunks of trees and the roof of sticks.

(٥٦٩٩) نافع ابن عمر (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ تمیم داری نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کہا، جب آپ بوجھل ہوگئے : کیا میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے منبر نہ بنا دوں تاکہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس پر بیٹھیں ۔ پھر تجمع یا اس کے علاوہ دوسرا کلمہ ارشاد فرمایا ۔ اس نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے دویا تین سیڑھیاں بنادیں۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس پر بیٹھے تو وہ تنا رویا جو مسجد میں تھا۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس پر ٹیک لگا کر خطبہ دیا کرتے تھے۔ پھر نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) منبر سے اترے اور اس کو اپنے ساتھ لگایا اور اس سے کچھ بات کی۔ میں نہیں جانتا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کیا کہا۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) منبر پر چلے گئے، ان دنوں مسجد کے ستون تنوں کے تھے اور چھت چھڑیوں کی۔
(5699) Nafe ibn Umar (RA) se naqal farmate hain ki Tamim Dari ne Rasul Allah (SAW) se kaha, jab aap bojhal hogaye : kya main aap (SAW) ke liye mimbar na bana dun takay aap (SAW) is par baithen . Phir tajammu ya uske ilawa dusra kalma irshad farmaya . Usne aap (SAW) ke liye do ya teen seedhiyan banadeen. Phir aap (SAW) is par baithe to woh tana roya jo masjid mein tha. Nabi (SAW) is par tek laga kar khutba diya karte the. Phir Nabi (SAW) mimbar se utre aur isko apne sath lagaya aur is se kuch baat ki. Main nahin janta ki aap (SAW) ne kya kaha. Phir aap (SAW) mimbar par chale gaye, in dinon masjid ke sutun tanon ke the aur chhat chhadiyon ki.
Nafi' narrates from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to deliver sermons while leaning on a trunk of a date palm tree. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had the pulpit made, the trunk cried, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed it next to himself.
