Hazrat Abu Umama narrates that when Hazrat Umar bin Khattab wore new clothes, he would pray, "All praise is to Allah who has clothed me with that which covers my nakedness and with which I adorn myself in this worldly life." Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Whoever wears a new garment and prays, "All praise is to Allah who has clothed me with that which covers my nakedness and with which I adorn myself in this worldly life." And then he gives the old clothes as charity, whether he tore them or said that he would give them in charity, then he will remain in the protection and support of Allah and in the concealment of Allah during his life and after his death." You (Hazrat Abu Umama) narrated this three times.
حضرت ابو امامہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب نے نیا کپڑا پہنا تو یہ دعا پڑھی : شکر ہے اللہ کا جس نے مجھے وہ کپڑے پہنائے جس سے میں اپنا ستر ڈھانکتا ہوں اور اپنی زندگی میں اس سے زینت حاصل کرتا ہوں۔ پھر فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو یوں فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے : جو شخص نیا کپڑا پہن کر یہ دعا پڑھے : شکر ہے اللہ کا جس نے مجھے وہ کپڑے پہنائے جن سے میں اپنا ستر ڈھانکتا ہوں ، اور اپنی زندگی میں اس سے زینت حاصل کرتا ہوں۔ اور پھر وہ پرانے کپڑوں کو جس کو اس نے پھاڑ دیا تھا یا فرمایا؛ جسے رکھ دیا صدقہ کر دے تو وہ زندگی میں اور مرنے کے بعد خدا کی حفاظت میں اور حمایت میں اور خدا کے چھپانے میں رہے گا۔ آپ نے یہ بات تین مرتبہ ارشاد فرمائی۔
Hazrat Abu Umama farmate hain ke Hazrat Umar bin Khattab ne naya kapra pehna to yeh dua parhi: Shukar hai Allah ka jisne mujhe woh kapre pehnaie jisse main apna satar dhanakta hun aur apni zindagi mein isse zeenat hasil karta hun. Phir farmaya: Maine Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko yun farmate hue suna hai: Jo shakhs naya kapra pehen kar yeh dua parhe: Shukar hai Allah ka jisne mujhe woh kapre pehnaie jinse main apna satar dhanakta hun, aur apni zindagi mein isse zeenat hasil karta hun. Aur phir woh purane kapron ko jisko isne phaar diya tha ya farmaya; jise rakh diya sadqa kar de to woh zindagi mein aur marne ke baad Khuda ki hifazat mein aur himayat mein aur Khuda ke chhupane mein rahega. Aap ne yeh baat teen martaba irshad farmaee.
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Layla narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When one of you wears a new garment, he should say this prayer: "All praise is due to Allah, who has clothed me with that which I cover my nakedness and with which I adorn myself in my life."
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن ابی لیلی فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی ایک نیا کپڑا پہنے تو اسے چاہیے کہ یوں دعا کرے : شکر ہے اللہ کا جس نے مجھے وہ کپڑے پہنائے جن کو پہن کر میں اپنا ستر ڈھانپتا ہوں اور اپنی زندگی میں اس سے زینت حاصل کرتا ہوں۔
Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Abi Layla farmate hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: Jab tum mein se koi ek naya kapra pehne to usay chahiye ke yun dua kare: Shukar hai Allah ka jisne mujhe wo kapre pehnai jin ko pehen kar mein apna satar dhanpta hun aur apni zindagi mein us se zeenat hasil karta hun.
A man of the tribe of Mazin narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw Hazrat Umar wearing washed clothes, so he said: Are your clothes new? Hazrat Umar said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), they are washed. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Wear new clothes, and live your life gratefully, and die as a martyr, may Allah grant you coolness of the eyes in this world and the hereafter.
قبیلہ مزینہ کے ایک آدمی نقل کرتے ہیں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حضرت عمر کو دھلا ہوا کپڑا پہنے ہوئے دیکھا، تو ارشاد فرمایا : کیا تمہارے یہ کپڑے نئے ہیں ؟ حضرت عمر نے فرمایا : اے اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) دھلے ہوئے ہیں۔ پس رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نیا کپڑا پہنو، اور شکر کرتے ہوئے زندگی گزارو، اور شہید ہو کر وفات پاؤ، اللہ تمہیں دنیا اور آخرت میں آنکھ کی ٹھنڈک نصیب کرے۔
Qabeela Mazeena ke aik aadmi naqal karte hain Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Hazrat Umar ko dhula hua kapda pehne huye dekha, to irshad farmaya : kya tumhare ye kapde naye hain? Hazrat Umar ne farmaya : aye Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) dhule huye hain. Pas Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya : tum naya kapda pehno, aur shukar karte huye zindagi guzaar, aur shaheed hokar wafat pao, Allah tumhen duniya aur aakhirat mein aankh ki thandak naseeb kare.
Hazrat Mansoor narrates that Hazrat Salem bin Abi Al-Ja'ad said: When a person wears new clothes and prays like this: O Allah! Bless these clothes. By wearing them I will thank you for your blessings. By wearing them, I will treat your servants well. By wearing them, I will obey your commands. Before this prayer reaches his throat, Allah forgives him.
حضرت منصور فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت سالم بن ابی الجعد نے ارشاد فرمایا : جب کوئی شخص نیا کپڑا پہن کر یوں دعا پڑھے : اے اللہ ! تو ان کپڑوں کو بابرکت بنا دے۔ جن کو پہن کر میں تیری نعمتوں کا شکر ادا کروں ۔ میں جن میں تیرے بندوں کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کروں۔ میں جن کو پہن کر تیری فرمان برداری میں عمل کروں۔ یہ دعا ابھی اس کے حلق میں بھی نہیں پہنچتی کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی مغفرت فرما دیتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Mansoor farmate hain ke Hazrat Salim bin Abi al-Jad ne irshad farmaya: Jab koi shakhs naya kapda pehen kar yun dua padhe: Aye Allah! Tu in kapdon ko babarkat bana de. Jin ko pehen kar main teri naimaton ka shukr ada karoon. Main jin mein tere bandon ke sath acha salook karoon. Main jin ko pehen kar teri farmanbardari mein amal karoon. Ye dua abhi uske halaq mein bhi nahin pahunchti ke Allah Ta'ala uski magfirat farma dete hain.
Hazrat Mis'ar narrates that Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah said: A man who wears new clothes and thanks Allah, he will be admitted to Paradise, or he said: He will be forgiven. So a man said to him: I will not return to my family until I wear new clothes and thank Allah for it.
حضرت مسعر فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عون بن عبداللہ نے ارشاد فرمایا : ایک آدمی نیا کپڑا پہن کر اللہ کا شکر ادا کرتا ہے تو اسے جنت میں داخل کردیا جائے گا یا یوں فرمایا : اس کی مغفرت کردی جائے گی، تو ایک آدمی نے ان کو کہا : میں اپنے گھر والوں کی طرف نہیں لوٹوں گا یہاں تک کہ میں نیا کپڑا پہنوں گا اور اس پر اللہ کا شکر ادا کروں گا۔
Hazrat Misar farmate hain keh Hazrat Aun bin Abdullah ne irshad farmaya: Ek aadmi naya kapra pehen kar Allah ka shukr ada karta hai to usay jannat mein dakhil kar diya jayega ya yun farmaya: Uski maghfirat kar di jayegi, to ek aadmi ne unko kaha: Mein apne ghar walon ki taraf nahin lautunga yahan tak ke mein naya kapra pehnoon ga aur us par Allah ka shukr ada karoon ga.
Hazrat Abu Nadra narrates that whenever the companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would see someone wearing new clothes, they would pray, "Wear it and wear it out, may God grant you more."
حضرت ابو نضرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ! نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ جب کسی کو نیا کپڑا پہنا ہوا دیکھتے تو یوں دعا دیتے ، پہنو اور پھاڑو، خدا تمہیں اور دے۔

Hazrat Abu Nadra narrates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would wear new clothes, he would mention its name. If it was a shirt, a turban, or a cloak, he would pray: "O Allah! All praise is for You. You have clothed me with this. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness for which it was created. And I seek Your protection from its evil and the evil for which it was created."
حضرت ابونضرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نیا کپڑا پہنتے تو اس کا نام لیتے اگر قمیص ہو یا تہبند ہو یا عمامہ ہو تو یوں دعا پڑھتے : اے اللہ ! تیرے لیے ہی شکر ہے کہ تو نے مجھے یہ کپڑاپہنایا میں تجھ سے اس کی خیر کا اور جس کے لیے بنایا گیا ہے اس کی خیر کا سوال کرتا ہوں۔ میں تیری پناہ لیتا ہوں اس کے شر سے اور جس کے لیے اسے بنایا گیا ہے اس کے شر سے۔
Hazrat Abu Nadra farmate hain ke Rasool Allah jab naya kapda pehente to us ka naam lete agar qamees ho ya tehband ho ya amama ho to yun dua parhte: Aye Allah! Tere liye hi shukar hai ke tune mujhe ye kapda pehnaya main tujhse is ki khair ka aur jis ke liye banaya gaya hai us ki khair ka sawal karta hun. Main teri panaah leta hun is ke shar se aur jis ke liye ise banaya gaya hai us ke shar se.
Aishah said regarding His saying: {And do not recite your prayer aloud, nor in secrecy} [Al-Isra' 110], "It (refers to) the supplication."
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے اس فرمان { وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا } [الإسراء: 110] سے مراد "دعا" ہے۔
Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha se riwayat hai ki unhon ne farmaya ki Allah Ta'ala ke is farmaan { wala tajhar bisalatk wala tukhafit biha } [al-Isra: 110] se murad "dua" hai.
Hazrat (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Hazrat Mujahid (May Allah have mercy on him) said about this Ayah (And do not recite your prayer aloud, nor in a very low voice) that: Prayer and supplication are meant in this Ayah.
حضرت حکم فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت مجاہد نے اس آیت ( اور تم اپنی نماز میں آواز کو بلند نہ کرو اور نہ ہی اپنی آواز کو بہت پست کرو۔ ) کے بارے میں فرمایا : اس آیت میں دعا اور مانگنا مراد ہے۔
Hazrat Hukam farmate hain ke Hazrat Mujahid ne is ayat (aur tum apni namaz mein aawaz ko buland na karo aur na hi apni aawaz ko bohat past karo) ke bare mein farmaya: is ayat mein dua aur mangna murad hai.
Hazrat Mujahid, in the explanation of the verse of the Holy Quran { وَلا تَجْہَرْ بِصَلاتِکَ وَلا تُخَافِتْ بِہَا }, states that it refers to Dua (supplication).
حضرت مجاہد قرآن مجید کی آیت { وَلا تَجْہَرْ بِصَلاتِکَ وَلا تُخَافِتْ بِہَا } کی تفسیر میں فرماتے ہیں کہ اس سے مراد دعا ہے۔
Hazrat Mujahid Quran Majeed ki ayat { wala tajhar bisalatk wala tukhafit biha } ki tafseer mein farmate hain ke is se murad dua hai.
