Hazrat Ibn Umar narrates that when the deceased was lowered into the grave, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite these words: With the name of Allah and with the attribute of Allah and on the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
حضرت ابن عمر فرماتے ہیں کہ جب میت کو قبر میں اتارا جاتا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) یہ کلمات پڑھتے ! اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ اور خصوصیت سے اللہ کے ساتھ اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر۔

Hazrat Abu Madrak narrates that when the deceased is placed in the grave and Hazrat Abu Al-Ahwas says that when the soil is poured on it, Hazrat Umar used to pray: O Allah! This person has left his wealth, family, tribe, and major sins to You. So You forgive him.
حضرت ابو مدرک فرماتے ہیں کہ جب میت کو قبر میں داخل کیا جاتا اور حضرت ابو الاحوص کہتے ہیں کہ جب اس پر مٹی ڈالی جاتی تو حضرت عمر یوں دعا فرماتے : اے اللہ ! اس شخص نے مال، اھل و عیال اور قبیلہ اور بڑے گناہ تیرے سپرد کیے ہیں۔ پس تو اس کی مغفرت فرما دے۔
Hazrat Abu Mudrik farmate hain keh jab mayyat ko qabar mein dakhil kiya jata aur Hazrat Abu Al Ahwas kehte hain keh jab iss par mitti dali jati to Hazrat Umar yun dua farmate: Aye Allah! Iss shakhs ne maal, ahlo ayaal aur qabeela aur bare gunah tere supurd kiye hain. Pas tu iss ki magfirat farma de.
Hazrat Khaithamah narrates that the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, liked to say when a deceased person was lowered into the grave: 'In the name of Allah, and upon the path of Allah, and upon the way of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah! Protect him/her from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hellfire, and from the evil of Satan.'
حضرت خیثمہ فرماتے ہیں کہ صحابہ پسند کرتے تھے کہ جب میت کو قبر میں اتارا جائے تو وہ یوں کہیں ! اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ اور اللہ کے راستہ میں اور اللہ کے رسول کے طریقہ پر، اے اللہ ! تو اس کو قبر کے عذاب سے اور جہنم کے عذاب سے اور شیطان کے شر سے بچا۔
Hazrat Hisaama farmate hain ke Sahaba pasand karte thy ke jab mayit ko qabar mein utara jaye to woh yun kahain! Allah ke naam ke saath aur Allah ke rastay mein aur Allah ke Rasool ke tareeqay par, Aye Allah! Tu usko qabar ke azab se aur jahannam ke azab se aur shetan ke shar se bacha.
Hazrat Laith narrates that Hazrat Mujahid used to recite these words, In the name of Allah, and in the way of Allah, and on the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), O Allah! You open his grave. And fill his grave with light. And unite him with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in such a way that You are pleased with him and not angry with him.
حضرت لیث فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت مجاہد یہ کلمات پڑھتے تھے، اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ ، اور اللہ کے راستہ میں، اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر، اے اللہ ! تو اس کی قبر کو کشادہ کر دے۔ اور اس کی قبر کو نور سے بھر دے۔ اور تو اس کو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے ملا دے اس حال میں کہ تو اس سے راضی ہو ناراض نہ ہو۔
Hazrat Lais farmate hain ke Hazrat Mujahid ye kalmat parhte thay, Allah ke naam ke sath, aur Allah ke raaste mein, aur Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke tareeqe par, aye Allah! Tu uski qabar ko kushada kar de. Aur uski qabar ko noor se bhar de. Aur tu usko Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se mila de is haal mein ke tu us se razi ho naraaz na ho.
Hazrat Ala bin Al-Musayyab narrates on the authority of his father that when you lay the deceased in the grave, do not say, 'In the name of Allah.' Rather, say, 'In the way of Allah and on the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and on the way of Ibrahim, who was a true Muslim and not among the polytheists. O Allah! Grant him steadfastness in the Hereafter through the word of truth. O Allah! Make his condition better than it was. O Allah! Do not deprive us of his reward, and do not put us to trial after him.' And he said that this verse was revealed regarding the one in the grave: 'Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter.'
حضرت علاء بن المسیب اپنے والد کے واسطہ سے بیان فرماتے ہیں کہ جب تم میت کو قبر میں اتارو تو یوں مت کہو، اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ، بلکہ اس طرح کہو : اللہ کے راستہ میں اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر، اور حضرت ابراہیم جو کہ سچے مسلمان تھے اور مشرکین میں سے نہیں تھے ان کے طریقہ پر، اے اللہ ! تو اس کو آخرت میں حق بات کے ذریعہ ثابت قدمی عطا فرما، اے اللہ ! جس حال میں یہ تھا اس سے بہتر حال میں اس کو کر دے، اے اللہ ! ہمیں اس کے اجر سے محروم مت فرما، اور ہمیں اس کے بعد آزمائش میں مت ڈال۔ اور فرمایا کہ یہ آیت قبر والے کے بارے میں اتری ہے : اللہ اہل ایمان کو دنیاوی زندگی میں اور آخرت میں قول حق (کی برکت) سے ثبات عطا فرماتا ہے۔
Hazrat Ala bin Al-Musayyab apne walid ke wasila se bayan farmate hain ki jab tum mayyat ko qabar mein utaro to yun mat kaho, Allah ke naam ke sath, balki is tarah kaho: Allah ke raaste mein aur Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke tareeqe par, aur Hazrat Ibrahim jo ki sache musalman the aur mushrikeen mein se nahi the un ke tareeqe par, Aye Allah! Tu usko aakhirat mein haq baat ke zariye se sabat qadmi ata farma, Aye Allah! Jis haal mein yeh tha us se behtar haal mein usko kar de, Aye Allah! Hamein uske ajr se mehroom mat farma, aur hamein uske baad aazmaish mein mat daal. Aur farmaya ki yeh ayat qabar wale ke bare mein utri hai: Allah ahle eman ko duniyawi zindagi mein aur aakhirat mein qaul haq (ki barkat) se sabat ata farmata hai.
Hazrat Asim narrates that Hazrat Ali, when he would lie down to sleep, would recite these words: 'In the name of Allah and in the way of Allah, and upon the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).' And he would recite these same words when a person was laid down in the grave.
حضرت عاصم فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی جب سونے کے لیے لیٹتے تو یہ کلمات پڑھتے : اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ اور اللہ کے راستہ میں، اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر اور یہی کلمات پڑھتے جب کسی آدمی کو قبر میں داخل کیا جاتا۔
Hazrat Asim farmate hain ke Hazrat Ali jab sone ke liye lete to ye kalmat parhte : Allah ke naam ke sath aur Allah ke raaste mein, aur Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke tareeqe par aur yahi kalmat parhte jab kisi aadmi ko qabar mein daakhil kiya jata.
Hazrat Mugheera narrated that Hazrat Ibrahim instructed: When you lower the deceased into the grave, recite these words! In the name of Allah, and according to the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
حضرت مغیرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابراہیم نے ارشاد فرمایا؛ جب تم میت کو قبر میں اتارو تو یہ کلمات پڑھو ! اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ، اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر۔

Hazrat Jabir bin Adi narrates that I was informed that Hazrat Ali used to recite this prayer when a dead body was put in the grave: In the name of Allah! And on the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and with the testimony of Your Book and the confirmation of Your Messenger, and with the belief in the resurrection after death, O Allah! Make his grave spacious for him and give him the good news of Paradise.
حضرت جبیر بن عدی فرماتے ہیں کہ مجھے خبر دی گئی ہے کہ حضرت علی یہ دعا پڑھتے تھے جب کسی میت کو قبر میں داخل کیا جاتا : اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ ! اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر، اور تیری کتاب اور تیرے رسول کی تصدیق کے ساتھ، اور مرنے کے بعد دوبارہ اٹھنے کے یقین کے ساتھ، اے اللہ ! اس پر اس کی قبر کو کشادہ کر دے اور اس کو جنت کی خوش خبری دے دیجیے۔
Hazrat Jabir bin Adi farmate hain ke mujhe khabar di gai hai ke Hazrat Ali yeh dua parhte thay jab kisi mayyat ko qabar mein dakhil kya jata: Allah ke naam ke saath! Aur Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke tareeqe par, aur teri kitab aur tere Rasool ki tasdeeq ke saath, aur marne ke baad dobara uthne ke yaqeen ke saath, Aye Allah! Is par is ki qabar ko kushada kar de aur is ko Jannat ki khushkhabri de dijiye.
Hazrat Haseen narrates that Hazrat Ibrahim Teimi said: When the deceased is put in the grave, then read these words! With the name of Allah, and towards Allah, and on the path of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
حضرت حصین فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابراہیم التیمی نے ارشاد فرمایا : جب میت کو قبر میں اتارا جائے۔ تو یہ کلمات پڑھو ! اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ، اور اللہ کی طرف، اور اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے طریقہ پر۔
