What is mentioned about the virtue and reward of Ramadan
مَا ذُكِرَ فِي فَضْلِ رَمَضَانَ وَثَوَابِهِ

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave the good news of Ramadan to his companions, saying, "The month of Ramadan has come upon you, which is a blessed month. Its fast has been made obligatory upon you. In it, the doors of Paradise are opened and the doors of Hell are closed. In it, the devils are chained, in this month there is a night which is better than a thousand months, whoever is deprived of its good is truly deprived."
حضرت ابوہریرہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی پاک (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے صحابہ کو رمضان کی خوشخبری دیتے ہوئے فرمایا کہ تمہارے اوپر رمضان کا مہینہ آگیا ہے، جو کہ ایک برکت والا مہینہ ہے۔ اس کے روزے کو تم پر فرض کیا گیا ہے۔ اس میں جنت کے دروازے کھولے جاتے ہیں اور جہنم کے دروازے بند کردیئے جاتے ہیں۔ اس میں شیطانوں کو ہتھکڑیاں لگادی جاتی ہیں، اس مہینے میں ایک رات ایسی ہے جو ہزار مہینوں سے افضل ہے، جو اس کی خیر سے محروم رہا وہ حقیقی محروم ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira se riwayat hai keh Nabi Pak (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne apne sahaba ko Ramzan ki khushkhabri dete huye farmaya keh tumhare upar Ramzan ka mahina agya hai, jo keh ek barkat wala mahina hai. Iss ke roze ko tum par farz kiya gya hai. Iss mein jannat ke darwaze khole jate hain aur jahannam ke darwaze band kar diye jate hain. Iss mein shetanon ko hathkariyan lagadi jati hain, iss mahine mein ek raat aisi hai jo hazaar mahino se afzal hai, jo iss ki khair se mehroom raha woh haqiqi mehroom hai.
Arfajah narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The gates of Paradise are opened in it (Ramadan), the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained, and a caller calls out every night: ‘O seeker of good, come near! O seeker of evil, desist!’”
حضرت عرفجہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت عتبہ بن فرقد کے پاس تھا، وہ رمضان کی فضیلت بیان کررہے تھے، اتنے میں ایک صحابی تشریف لائے تو وہ خاموش ہوگئے۔ ایسے محسوس ہوتا تھا جیسے وہ ان کے رعب کی وجہ سے خاموش ہوئے ہیں۔ جب وہ بیٹھ گئے تو حضرت عتبہ نے ان سے کہا کہ اے ابو فلاں ! آپ ہمیں وہ حدیث سنائیے جو آپ نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنی ہو، انھوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا ہے کہ رمضان میں جنت کے دروازے کھول دیئے جاتے ہیں، جہنم کے دروازے بند کردیئے جاتے ہیں، اس میں شیاطین کو باندھ دیا جاتا ہے اور رمضان کی ہر رات ایک اعلان کرنے والا اعلان کرتا ہے اے خیر کو تلاش کرنے والے آگے بڑھ، اے شر کو تلاش کرنے والے بس کردے۔
Hazrat Urwah farmate hain keh main Hazrat Utbah bin Farqad ke paas tha, woh Ramzan ki fazilat bayan kar rahe thay, itne main ek Sahabi tashreef laaye to woh khamosh hogaye. Aise mehsoos hota tha jaise woh unke raub ki wajah se khamosh huye hain. Jab woh beth gaye to Hazrat Utbah ne unse kaha keh aye Abu Fulan! Aap humain woh hadees sunaaiye jo aap ne Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se suni ho, unhon ne kaha keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya hai keh Ramzan mein Jannat ke darwaze khol diye jaate hain, Jahannum ke darwaze band kar diye jaate hain, is mein shayaateen ko bandh diya jata hai aur Ramzan ki har raat ek elaan karne wala elaan karta hai aye khair ko talash karne wale aage barh, aye shar ko talash karne wale bas karde.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to give special encouragement for standing in prayer during Ramadan. Once he said that when the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.
حضرت ابوہریرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی پاک (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) رمضان میں قیام کی خصوصی ترغیب دیا کرتے تھے ایک مرتبہ آپ نے فرمایا کہ جب رمضان کا مہینہ آتا ہے تو جنت کے دروازے کھول دیئے جاتے ہیں، جہنم کے دروازے بند کردیئے جاتے ہیں اور شیاطین کو قید کردیا جاتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira farmate hain ke Nabi Pak (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Ramzan mein qayam ki khasusi targheeb diya karte thay aik martaba aap ne farmaya ke jab Ramzan ka mahina aata hai to jannat ke darwaze khol diye jate hain jahannum ke darwaze band kar diye jate hain aur shayateen ko qaid kar diya jata hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Salman bin 'Abdur-Rahman that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's reward, then all his past sins will be forgiven."
حضرت سلمہ بن عبدالرحمن سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ جس شخص نے ایمان کے ساتھ اور ثواب کی نیت سے رمضان کے روزے رکھے اس کے گزشتہ گناہ معاف ہوجاتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Salma bin Abdur Rahman se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya keh jis shakhs ne imaan ke saath aur sawab ki niyat se Ramzan ke roze rakhe us ke guzishta gunaah maaf hojate hain.
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The month of Ramadan has come, in which the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up. Woe to the one who finds the month of Ramadan and is not forgiven. If he does not seek forgiveness in Ramadan, then when will he?
حضرت انس سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ رمضان کا مہینہ آگیا ہے، اس میں جنت کے دروازے کھول دیئے جاتے ہیں، جہنم کے دروازے بند کردیئے جاتے ہیں، اس میں شیطانوں کو قید کردیا جاتا ہے، اس شخص کے لیے ہلاکت ہے جس نے رمضان کا مہینہ پایا اور اس کی مغفرت نہ ہوئی، اگر رمضان میں بھی وہ اپنی مغفرت نہ کرواسکا تو کب کرائے گا ؟
Hazrat Anas se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya keh Ramzan ka mahina aa gaya hai, iss mein jannat ke darwaze khol diye jate hain, jahannum ke darwaze band kar diye jate hain, iss mein shaitano ko qaid kar diya jata hai, iss shakhs ke liye halaakat hai jis ne Ramzan ka mahina paya aur uss ki maghfirat na hui, agar Ramzan mein bhi woh apni maghfirat na karwa saka toh kab karwaye ga?
Hazrat Shabi narrates that when the month of Ramadan would come, Hazrat Ali would deliver a sermon and in it he would say: This is that blessed month in which Allah Almighty has made fasting obligatory, and has not made standing in prayer at night obligatory.
حضرت شعبی فرماتے ہیں کہ جب رمضان کا مہینہ آتا تو حضرت علی خطبہ دیتے اور اس میں ارشاد فرماتے : یہ وہ مبارک مہینہ ہے جس میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے روزے کو فرض فرمایا ہے، اس کے قیام کو فرض نہیں فرمایا۔
Hazrat Shabi farmate hain ke jab Ramazan ka mahina aata to Hazrat Ali khutba dete aur is mein irshad farmate : Yeh woh mubarak mahina hai jis mein Allah Ta'ala ne roze ko farz farmaya hai, is ke qayam ko farz nahi farmaya.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever observes prayers during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith and seeking its reward from Allah, and fasts in it, having the same intention, will have his past sins pardoned."
حضرت ابوہریرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ جو شخص رمضان کے قیام اور صیام کی پابندی کرے اسے سب سے پہلے جو انعام ملتا ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ اس کے گناہ اس طرح معاف ہوجاتے ہیں جیسے وہ آج ہی اپنی ماں کے پیٹ سے پیدا ہوا ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira farmate hain ke jo shakhs Ramzan ke qayam aur siyam ki pabandi kare use sab se pehle jo inaam milta hai wo ye hai ke uske gunah is tarah maaf hojate hain jaise wo aaj hi apni maan ke pait se paida hua ho.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, then his previous sins are forgiven."
حضرت ابوہریرہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ جس شخص نے ایمان اور ثواب کی نیت سے رمضان کے روزے رکھے اس کے گزشتہ گناہ معاف کردیئے جاتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya keh jis shakhs ne imaan aur sawab ki niyat se Ramzan ke roze rakhe uske guzishta gunah maaf kar diye jate hain.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "This month has come to you, and by the oath of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), listen, no month is better for the Muslims than it, and no month is worse for the hypocrites than it. By the oath of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Allah Almighty writes down the reward and the voluntary deeds of this month before its arrival, and Allah Almighty writes down its sins and punishments before its arrival. That is why the believer is given more success and strength in worship and good deeds, and it is made easy for the hypocrites to search for the faults of the Muslims and spread them. This month is a time of mercy for the believer and a time of calamity for the wicked."
حضرت ابوہریرہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ تم پر یہ مہینہ آیا ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی قسم کے ساتھ سن لو کہ مسلمانوں پر اس سے بہتر کوئی مہینہ نہیں آیا اور منافقین پر اس سے بدتر مہینہ کوئی نہیں آیا۔ اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی قسم کے ساتھ اللہ تعالیٰ اس مہینے کے اجر اور نوافل کو اس کے آنے سے پہلے لکھ دیتے ہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے گناہ اور عذاب کو اس کے آنے سے پہلے لکھ لیتے ہیں۔ اسی وجہ سے مومن کے لیے عبادات اور نیکیوں کی توفیق اور قوت بڑھا دی جاتی ہے اور منافقین کے لیے مسلمانوں کے عیبوں کو تلاش کرنا اور انھیں پھیلانا آسان کردیا جاتا ہے۔ یہ مہینہ مومن کے لیے غنیمت اور فاجر کے لیے مصیبت ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya keh tum par yeh mahina aaya hai keh Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki qasam ke saath sun lo keh Musalmanon par iss se behtar koi mahina nahi aaya aur munafiqeen par iss se badtar mahina koi nahi aaya. Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki qasam ke saath Allah Ta'ala iss mahine ke ajr aur nawafil ko iss ke aane se pehle likh dete hain, Allah Ta'ala iss ke gunah aur azab ko iss ke aane se pehle likh lete hain. Isi wajah se momin ke liye ibaadaat aur nekiyon ki tofiq aur quwwat badha di jati hai aur munafiqeen ke liye Musalmanon ke uyubon ko talaash karna aur unhen phailana aasan kar diya jata hai. Yeh mahina momin ke liye ghanimat aur fajir ke liye musibat hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Aisha that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan with faith and seeking its reward, his past sins will be forgiven."
حضرت عائشہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ جس شخص نے ایمان اور ثواب کی نیت کے ساتھ رمضان کے روزے رکھے اس کے گناہ معاف کردیئے جاتے ہیں۔
