Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2991
Umayyah narrated that she asked Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) about the saying of Allah, blessed and Most High – [To Allah belongs all, whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth; and whether you disclose what is in your hearts or hide it, Allah will take account of it from you; so He will forgive whoever He wills and punish whoever He wills; and Allah has the power over all the things.] (Al-Baqara - 284). And about His saying – [Paradise is not gained by your wishful thinking nor by that of the People of the Scripture. Whoever does wrong will get the recompense of it and will not find, other than Allah, any friend or any supporter. (An-Nisa - 123). She said, ‘no one has asked me about it since I asked the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), he said, 'this is Allah's admonition for His servants regarding whatever he is stricken with, of fever and problems, even the item that he has in the pocket of his shirt which he loses and worries about, until the servant’s sins are removed, just as the red ore is removed from the bellows.' Imam Tirmidhi said, this Hadith is Hasan Gharib from the narrations of Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) as we do not know of it except as a narration of Hammad bin Salamah.

امیہ کہتی ہیں کہ انہوں نے عائشہ رضی الله عنہا سے اللہ تبارک وتعالیٰ کے قول «إن تبدوا ما في أنفسكم أو تخفوه يحاسبكم به الله» ۱؎ اور ( دوسرے ) قول «من يعمل سوءا يجز به» ۲؎ کا مطلب پوچھا، تو انہوں نے کہا: جب سے میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے ان کا مطلب پوچھا ہے تب سے ( تمہارے سوا ) کسی نے مجھ سے ان کا مطلب نہیں پوچھا۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا ہے: ”یہ اللہ کی جانب سے بخار اور مصیبت ( وغیرہ ) میں مبتلا کر کے بندے کی سرزنش ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ سامان جو وہ اپنی قمیص کی آستین میں رکھ لیتا ہے پھر گم کر دیتا ہے پھر وہ گھبراتا اور اس کے لیے پریشان ہوتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ بندہ اپنے گناہوں سے ویسے ہی پاک و صاف ہو جاتا ہے جیسا کہ سرخ سونا بھٹی سے ( صاف ستھرا ) نکلتا ہے۔
Aamiyah kehti hain ke unhon ne Aaishah Radiyallahu Anha se Allah Tabarak Wa Ta'ala ke qoul «In tabdoo ma fi anfusakum au tukhfooh yuhasibkum bih Allah» 1؎ aur (dosray) qoul «Man ya'mal su'an yujza bih» 2؎ ka matlab poocha, to unhon ne kaha: Jab se main ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se in ka matlab poocha hai tab se (tumhaare swa) kisi ne mujh se in ka matlab nahi poocha. Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya hai: "Yeh Allah ki janib se bukhaar aur mussibat (waghera) mein mubtala kar ke bande ki sarzanish hai. Yahaan tak ke woh saman jo woh apni qameez ki aasteen mein rakh leta hai phir gum kar deta hai phir woh ghabrata aur us ke liye pareshan hota hai, yahaan tak ke banda apne gunahon se waise hi paak o saf ho jata hai jaisa ke surkh sona bhatti se (saf sathra) nikalta hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَرَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَإِنْ تُبْدُوا مَا فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ يُحَاسِبْكُمْ بِهِ اللَّهُ سورة البقرة آية 284 وَعَنْ قَوْلِهِ: مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ سورة النساء آية 123، فَقَالَتْ: مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهَا أَحَدٌ مُنْذُ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: هَذِهِ مُعَاتَبَةُ اللَّهِ الْعَبْدَ فِيمَا يُصِيبُهُ مِنَ الْحُمَّى وَالنَّكْبَةِ حَتَّى الْبِضَاعَةُ يَضَعُهَا فِي كُمِّ قَمِيصِهِ فَيَفْقِدُهَا فَيَفْزَعُ لَهَا حَتَّى إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَمَا يَخْرُجُ التِّبْرُ الْأَحْمَرُ مِنَ الْكِيرِ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَائِشَةَ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ.
