Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught me a few words. I recite them in the Witr prayer. These words are: "O Allah! Guide me among those whom You have guided, and grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, and take me into Your friendship among those whom You have taken as friends. Bless me in what You have bestowed upon me, and protect me from the evil that You have decreed. Surely, You decree and none can overrule You. He whom You befriend is never humiliated, and he whom You take as an enemy is never honored. Blessed and Exalted are You, our Master."

(٣١٣٨) سیدنا حسن بن علی (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھے چند کلمات سکھائے۔ میں انھیں وتر میں پڑھتا ہوں، وہ کلمات یہ ہیں ” اللہم اہدنی فی من ہدیت۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! مجھے ہدایت دے کر ان لوگوں میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے رشد و ہدایت سے نوازا ہے اور مجھے عافیت دے کر ان میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے عافیت دی ہے اور جن کو تو نے اپنا دوست قرار دیا، ان میں مجھے بھی شامل فرما کر اپنا دوست بنا لے۔ جو کچھ تو نے مجھے عطا فرمایا ہے اس میں میرے لیے برکت ڈال دے اور جس شر و برائی کا تو نے فیصلہ کردیا ہے۔ اس سے مجھے محفوظ رکھ اور بچا لے۔ یقیناً فیصلہ تو ہی صادر کرتا ہے۔ تیرے خلاف فیصلہ صادر نہیں کیا جاسکتا اور جس کا تو والی بنا وہ کبھی ذلیل و خوار نہیں ہوسکتا اور جس کا تو دشمن بن جائے وہ کبھی عزت نہیں پاسکتا۔ ہمارے آقا تو ہی برکت والا اور بلند وبالا ہے۔ “
(3138) Syedna Hasan bin Ali (RA) bayan karte hain ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mujhe chand kalimat sikhaye. Mein unhein witr mein parhta hun, woh kalimat ye hain "Allahumma ihdini fi man hadayt..." "Aye Allah! Mujhe hidayat de kar un logon mein shamil farma jinhein Tu ne rushd o hidayat se nawaza hai aur mujhe afiyat de kar un mein shamil farma jinhein Tu ne afiyat di hai aur jin ko Tu ne apna dost qarar diya, un mein mujhe bhi shamil farma kar apna dost bana le. Jo kuchh Tu ne mujhe ata farmaya hai us mein mere liye barkat daal de aur jis shar o burai ka Tu ne faisla kar diya hai us se mujhe mahfooz rakh aur bacha le. Yaqinan faisla to hi sadar karta hai. Tere khilaf faisla sadar nahin kiya ja sakta aur jis ka Tu wali bana woh kabhi zaleel o khwar nahin ho sakta aur jis ka Tu dushman ban jaye woh kabhi izzat nahin paa sakta. Hamare aaqa to hi barkat wala aur buland o bala hai."
Abu Hurairah reported that he asked al-Hasan bin Ali: "What have you learned from the Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "He taught me supplications, which I recite, 'O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, and grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, and take me into Your friendship among those whom You have taken into Your friendship, and bless me in what You have bestowed on me, and protect me from the evil You have ordained, for You decree and none can decree over You. He whom You befriend is not disgraced. Blessed and Exalted are You, our Lord'." The narrator said: I mentioned this to Muhammad bin al-Hanafiyyah and he said: "This is the supplication which my father used to recite in the Qunut of Fajr prayer."

(٣١٣٩) (ا) ابوحورا بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے سیدنا حسن بن علی (رض) سے پوچھا : آپ نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کیا سیکھا ہے ؟ تو انھوں نے فرمایا : آپ نے مجھے دعائیں سکھائی ہیں ، میں وہ پڑھتا ہوں ” اللہم اہدنی فیمن ہدیت۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! مجھے ہدایت سے بہرہ ور فرما کر ہدایت یافتہ لوگوں میں شامل فرما اور مجھے عافیت دے کر ان لوگوں میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے عافیت بخشی ہے اور جنہیں تو نے اپنا دوست بنایا ان میں مجھے بھی شامل فرما اور جو کچھ تو نے مجھے عطا فرمایا ہے اس میں میرے لیے برکت عطا فرما اور جس شرکا تو نے فیصلہ کیا ہے اس سے مجھے محفوظ فرما اور بچا لے۔ بیشک تو ہی فیصلہ کرتا ہے تیرے خلاف فیصلہ نہیں کیا جاسکتا۔ “
میرا خیال ہے کہ انھوں نے یہ بھی فرمایا : ” جس کو تو والی بنا دے وہ کبھی ذلیل و خوار نہیں ہوسکتا۔ اے ہمارے رب ! تو ہی برکت والا اور بلند وبالا ہے۔ “ راوی فرماتے ہیں : میں نے اس کا ذکر محمد بن حنفیہ کے سامنے کیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : یہ تو وہی دعا ہے جو میرے والد صاحب فجر کی نماز میں قنوت میں پڑھا کرتے تھے۔
(3139) (a) Abu Huraira bayan karte hain ke maine Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (RA) se poocha : Aap ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se kya seekha hai ? To unhon ne farmaya : Aap ne mujhe duain sikhayi hain, main wo parhta hoon ” Allahummahdini fiman hadait...“ ” Aye Allah ! Mujhe hidayat se bahra war farma kar hidayat yafta logon mein shamil farma aur mujhe afiyat de kar un logon mein shamil farma jinhen tune afiyat bakhshi hai aur jinhen tune apna dost banaya un mein mujhe bhi shamil farma aur jo kuchh tune mujhe ata farmaya hai us mein mere liye barkat ata farma aur jis shar ka tune faisla kiya hai us se mujhe mahfooz farma aur bacha le. Beshak tu hi faisla karta hai tere khilaf faisla nahin kiya jasakta. “
Mera khayal hai ke unhon ne ye bhi farmaya : ” Jis ko tu wali bana de wo kabhi zaleel o khwar nahin hosakta. Aye hamare Rab ! Tu hi barkat wala aur buland o bala hai. “ Rawi farmate hain : Maine is ka zikar Muhammad bin Hanfiyah ke samne kiya to unhon ne farmaya : Ye to wohi dua hai jo mere walid sahib fajar ki namaz mein qunoot mein parha karte the.
Burayd bin Abi Maryam narrated that I heard from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Muhammad bin Ali bin al-Hanafiyyah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite these words in the morning prayer and in the witr prayer at night: "O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, and grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, and take me into Your friendship among those whom You have taken into Your friendship, and bless me in what You have bestowed upon me, and protect me from the evil that You have decreed. Surely You decree and none can decree over You, and he whom You befriend will never be humiliated. Blessed and Exalted are You, our Lord."

(٣١٤٠) برید بن ابی مریم بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابن عباس (رض) اور محمد بن علی بن حنفیہ سے سنا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) صبح کی نماز میں اور رات کے وتروں میں یہ کلمات پڑھتے تھے۔ ” اللہم اہدنی فیمن ہدیت۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! مجھے ہدایت دے کر ان لوگوں میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے ہدایت سے نوازا ہے اور مجھے عافیت بخش کر ان میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے عافیت بخشی ہے اور جن کو تو نے اپنا دوست بنایا ہے۔ ان میں مجھے بھی شامل فرما کر اپنا دوست بنا لے اور تو نے مجھے جو کچھ بھی عطا کیا ہے۔ اس میں میرے لیے برکت ڈال دے اور جس شر کا تو نے فیصلہ کردیا ہے اس سے مجھے محفوظ و مامون فرما۔ یقیناً فیصلہ تو ہی کرتا ہے تیرے خلاف فیصلہ نہیں کیا جاسکتا اور جس کا تو والی بنے وہ کبھی ذلیل ہو نہیں سکتا۔ اے ہمارے رب ! تو ہی برکتوں والا اور بلند وبالا ہے۔ “
3140 Buraidah bin Abi Maryam bayan karte hain ke maine Ibn Abbas (RA) aur Muhammad bin Ali bin Hanafiah se suna ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) subah ki namaz mein aur raat ke witron mein ye kalmaat parhte thay. "Allahumma ihdini fiman hadait..." "Aye Allah! mujhe hidayat de kar un logon mein shamil farma jinhen Tu ne hidayat se nawaza hai aur mujhe afiyat bakhsh kar un mein shamil farma jinhen Tu ne afiyat bakhshi hai aur jin ko Tu ne apna dost banaya hai. Un mein mujhe bhi shamil farma kar apna dost bana le aur Tu ne mujhe jo kuchh bhi ata kiya hai us mein mere liye barkat daal de aur jis shar ka Tu ne faisla kardiya hai us se mujhe mahfooz o mamun farma. Yaqinan faisla to hi karta hai Tere khilaf faisla nahin kiya ja sakta aur jis ka Tu wali bane wo kabhi zaleel ho nahin sakta. Aye hamare Rab! Tu hi barkaton wala aur buland o bala hai."
(3141) (a) Sayyidina Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to teach us a supplication which we would recite in the Fajr prayer: "O Allah! Guide us among those whom You have guided, and grant us well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, and take us into Your friendship among those whom You have befriended, and bless us in what You have bestowed upon us, and protect us and save us from the evil that You have decreed. Indeed, it is You who decrees, and none can decree over You, and he whom You befriend is never humiliated. O our Lord, You are the Most Blessed, the Most High."
(b) In the narration of Mukhallad bin Yazid, it is stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught the Qunut of Witr to one of his grandsons, Hasan or Hussain (may Allah be pleased with them).
Yazid said, "I heard both Ibn Hanifiyyah and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite this supplication in the night prayer."
(c) Similarly, Abu Sufyan Amwi narrated this from Ibn Juraij, and in the narration of Ibn Abbas and Ibn Hanifiyyah, it is stated that "(The Prophet) would recite this in the Qunut of the Fajr prayer."
(d) It is possible that the supplication which you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught is for both the Qunut of Fajr and the Qunut of Witr. Buraida has mentioned this hadith with two chains of narration. And with Allah lies all success.

(٣١٤١) (ا) سیدنا عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہمیں دعا سکھایا کرتے تھے۔ ہم اسے فجر کی نماز میں پڑھا کرتے تھے ” اللہم اہدنا فیمن ہدیت۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! ہمیں ہدایت دے کر ان لوگوں میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے رشد و ہدایت سے نوازا ہے اور ہمیں عافیت دے کر ان میں شامل فرما جنہیں تو نے عافیت دی ہے اور جن کو تو نے اپنا دوست قرار دیا ہے ان میں ہمیں بھی شامل فرما کر اپنا دوست بنا اور جو کچھ تو نے ہمیں عطا فرمایا ہے اس میں ہمارے لیے برکت ڈال اور جس برائی اور شر کا تو نے فیصلہ کیا ہے اس سے ہمیں محفوظ رکھ اور بچا لے۔ یقیناً تو ہی فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے۔ تیرے خلاف فیصلہ نہیں کیا جاسکتا اور جس کا تو والی بنے وہ کبھی ذلیل و خوار نہیں ہوسکتا۔ اے ہمارے رب ! تو ہی برکتوں والا اور بلند وبالا ہے۔ “
(ب) مخلد بن یزید کی روایت میں ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے نواسوں حضرت حسن و حسین (رض) میں سے کسی کو قنوت وتر کی دعا سکھائی ہے۔
یزید نے کہا کہ میں نے ابن حنفیہ اور ابن عباس (رض) دونوں کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس دعا کو رات کی قنوت میں پڑھتے تھے :
(ج) اسی طرح اس روایت کو ابوصفوان اموی نے ابن جریج سے روایت کیا اور ابن عباس (رض) اور ابن حنفیہ کی حدیث میں ہے کہ ” فی قنوت صلوۃ الصبح “ صبح کی نماز کی قنوت میں پڑھتے تھے۔
(د) یہ درست ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جو دعا سکھائی ہے، یہ صبح کی نماز کی قنوت اور قنوت وتر دونوں کے بارے میں ہے اور برید نے یہ حدیث دو سندوں سے ذکر کی ہے۔ وباللہ التوفیق
(3141) (a) Syedna Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) humain dua sikhaya karte thay. Hum isay fajr ki namaz mein parha karte thay “Allahumma ihdina feeman hadayt…” “Ay Allah! humain hidayat day kar un logon mein shamil farma jinhen to ne rushd o hidayat say nawaza hai aur humain afiyat day kar un mein shamil farma jinhen to ne afiyat di hai aur jin ko to ne apna dost qarar diya hai un mein humain bhi shamil farma kar apna dost bana aur jo kuch to ne humain ata farmaya hai us mein humare liye barkat daal aur jis burai aur shar ka to ne faisla kiya hai us say humain mahfooz rakh aur bacha lay. Yaqinan tu hi faisla karne wala hai. Tere khilaf faisla nahin kiya jasakta aur jis ka tu wali bane woh kabhi zaleel o khwar nahin hosakta. Ay humare Rab! tu hi barkaton wala aur buland o bala hai.”
(b) Mukhallad bin Yazid ki riwayat mein hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne nawason Hazrat Hassan o Hussain (RA) mein say kisi ko qanoot witr ki dua sikhayi hai. Yazid ne kaha ki maine Ibn Hanfia aur Ibn Abbas (RA) donon ko farmate huye suna ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) is dua ko raat ki qanoot mein parhte thay:
(c) Isi tarah is riwayat ko Abu Sufwan Umawi ne Ibn Juraij say riwayat kiya aur Ibn Abbas (RA) aur Ibn Hanfia ki hadees mein hai ki “Fi qanoot salat al-subh” subah ki namaz ki qanoot mein parhte thay.
(d) Yeh durust hai ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne jo dua sikhayi hai, yeh subah ki namaz ki qanoot aur qanoot witr donon ke bare mein hai aur Buraid ne yeh hadees do sanadon say zikar ki hai. Wabillahi tawfeeq.
(3142) Khalid bin Abi Imran narrated that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was invoking Allah against the disbelievers of Quraysh. Suddenly, Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended and said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), gesturing with his hand: "Stop!" So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stopped. Then he said: "O Muhammad! Allah has not sent you to curse or to invoke against people. Rather, He has sent you as a mercy, not as a punishment. You have no power, whether Allah accepts their repentance or punishes them, for they are wrongdoers." Then Gabriel (peace be upon him) taught the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) this Qunut: "O Allah! We seek Your help and ask for Your forgiveness, and we believe in You and submit ourselves to You. We are humble before You and we disown and leave him who disobeys You. O Allah! You alone we worship and for You alone we pray and prostrate, and to You alone we flee and hasten. We hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. Verily, Your punishment will certainly reach the disbelievers."

(٣١٤٢) خالد بن ابی عمران بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک دفعہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کفار مضر پر بددعا کر رہے تھے۔ اچانک جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نازل ہوئے۔ انھوں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اشارہ کر کے فرمایا : خاموش ہوجائیے ! تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) چپ ہوگئے۔ پھر انھوں نے کہا : اے محمد ! اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو گالیاں دینے والا اور بددعا کرنے والا بنا کر نہیں بھیجا۔ اس نے تو آپ کو رحمت بنا کر بھیجا ہے نہ کہ عذاب بنا کر۔ آپ کے اختیار میں کچھ نہیں، اللہ چاہے تو ان کی توبہ قبول کرلے یا عذاب دے ، کیونکہ وہ ظالم ہیں۔ پھر جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو یہ قنوت سکھلائی ” اللہم انا نستعینک ونستغفرک۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! ہم تجھ سے مدد چاہتے ہیں اور تجھ سے بخشش طلب کرتے ہیں اور تجھ پر ایمان لاتے ہیں۔ تیرے لیے ہی خشوع و خضوع کرتے ہیں اور جو تیرا منکر ہے اس سے ہر قسم کا ناطہ توڑتے ہیں اور اس کو چھوڑتے ہیں۔ اے اللہ ! ہم تیری ہی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور تیرے لیے ہی نماز پڑھتے ہیں اور تیرے لیے ہی سجدہ کرتے ہیں، تیرے طرف ہی بھاگتے ہیں اور تیرے ہر حکم کے لیے تیار ہیں۔ تیری رحمت کے امیدوار ہیں اور تیرے سخت عذاب سے ڈرتے ہیں۔ بلاشبہ تیرا عذاب کافروں کو ملنے والا ہے۔
(3142) Khalid bin Abi Imran bayan karte hain keh aik dafa Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kuffar muzir per baddua kar rahe thay. Achanak Jibraeel (Alaihissalam) nazil huay. Unhon ne Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko ishara kar ke farmaya: خاموش hojayiye! To Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) chup hogaye. Phir unhon ne kaha: Aye Muhammad! Allah Ta'ala ne aap ko galiyan dene wala aur baddua karne wala bana kar nahin bheja. Usne to aap ko rehmat bana kar bheja hai na keh azab bana kar. Aap ke ikhtiyar mein kuch nahin, Allah chahe to un ki tauba kabool kar le ya azab de, kyunki woh zalim hain. Phir Jibraeel (Alaihissalam) ne Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko yeh qunoot sikhlai "Allahumma inna nastaeenoka wanastaghfiruk..." "Aye Allah! Hum tujh se madad chahte hain aur tujh se bakhshish talab karte hain aur tujh per imaan late hain. Tere liye hi khushu o khuzoo karte hain aur jo tera munkir hai us se har qisam ka nata torte hain aur us ko chhorte hain. Aye Allah! Hum teri hi ibadat karte hain aur tere liye hi namaz parhte hain aur tere liye hi sajda karte hain, teri taraf hi bhagte hain aur tere har hukm ke liye tayyar hain. Teri rehmat ke umeedwar hain aur tere sakht azab se darte hain. Bilashuba tera azab kafiro ko milne wala hai.
(3143) (a) It is narrated by 'Ubaid bin 'Umar that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) supplicated after bowing in prayer: "O Allah! Forgive us, and the believing men and women." "O Allah! Put affection in their hearts and reform them and help them against their enemies. O Allah! Curse those disbelievers from the People of the Book who hinder from Your path and deny Your Messengers and fight against Your friends. O Allah! Cause discord among them and confuse their steps and send down upon them a punishment that You do not turn back from a criminal people." "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah! We seek help only from You, and seek forgiveness only from You, and praise only You, and we do not disbelieve in You, and we separate ourselves from and leave him who disobeys You. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah! We worship You alone and pray to You alone and prostrate to You alone. We hasten towards You and strive for You, and we fear Your severe punishment and hope for Your mercy. Indeed, Your punishment is bound to reach the disbelievers."

(٣١٤٣) (ا) عبید بن عمر سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے رکوع کے بعد قنوت پڑھی : ” اللہم اغفرلنا، وللمومنین والمومنات “ ” اے اللہ ! ہم سب مومن و مسلمان مردوں اور عورتوں کو بخش دے۔ ان کے دلوں میں الفت ڈال دے اور ان کی اصلاح کر دے اور ان کی دشمنوں کے خلاف مدد فرما۔ اے اللہ ! اہل کتاب کے ان کافروں پر لعنت کر جو تیرے راستے سے روکتے ہیں اور جو تیرے رسولوں کو جھٹلاتے ہیں اور تیرے دوستوں سے لڑائی کرتے ہیں۔ اے اللہ ! ان میں آپس میں اختلاف ڈال دے اور ان کے قدم ڈگمگا دے اور ان پر ایسا عذاب نازل فرما جو تو مجرم قوم سے نہیں پھیرتا۔ “ ” اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ جو بےحد مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے۔ اے اللہ ! ہم تجھ ہی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے بخشش چاہتے ہیں اور تیری ہی ثنا کرتے ہیں اور تیرے ساتھ کفر نہیں کرتے اور جو تیری نافرمانی کرتا ہے اس سے علیحدہ ہوتے ہیں اور اسے چھوڑتے ہیں۔ اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ جو بےحد مہربان، نہایت رحم والا ہے۔ اے اللہ ! ہم تیری ہی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور تیرے لیے نماز پڑھتے ہیں اور سجدہ کرتے ہیں۔ تیری طرف ہی دوڑتے اور کوشش کرتے ہیں اور تیرے سخت عذاب سے ڈرتے ہیں اور تیری رحمت کے امیدوار ہیں۔ بیشک تیرا عذاب کافروں کو ملنے والا ہے۔ “
(3143) (a) Obaid bin Umar se riwayat hai ki Hazrat Umar (RA) ne ruku ke baad qunoot parha: "Allahummaghfir lana, walil momineena wal mominati" "Aye Allah! Hum sab momin o musalman mardon aur auraton ko bakhsh de. Un ke dilon mein ulfat daal de aur un ki islaah kar de aur un ki dushmanon ke khilaaf madad farma. Aye Allah! Ahl-e-kitab ke un kaafiron par laanat kar jo tere raaste se rokte hain aur jo tere rasulon ko jhutlaate hain aur tere doston se laraai karte hain. Aye Allah! Un mein aapas mein ikhtilaf daal de aur un ke qadam dagmaga de aur un par aisa azab nazil farma jo tu mujrim qaum se nahin phirta." "Allah ke naam ke saath jo behad meherban nihayat reham wala hai. Aye Allah! Hum tujh hi se madad maangte hain aur tujh hi se bakhshish chahte hain aur teri hi sana karte hain aur tere saath kufr nahin karte aur jo teri nafarmani karta hai us se alag hote hain aur use chhorte hain. Allah ke naam ke saath jo behad meherban, nihayat reham wala hai. Aye Allah! Hum teri hi ibadat karte hain aur tere liye namaz parhte hain aur sijda karte hain. Teri taraf hi daurte aur koshish karte hain aur tere sakht azab se darte hain aur teri rehmat ke ummeedwar hain. Beshak tera azab kaafiron ko milne wala hai."
(3144) (a) Sa'eed ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abza reports from his father that he prayed the morning prayer behind 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) and heard him reciting after the recitation and before bowing, "O Allah, You alone we worship..." "O Allah, You alone we worship, and for You alone we pray and prostrate, and to You alone we hasten and strive. And we fear Your severe punishment and hope for Your mercy. Indeed, Your punishment is bound to afflict the disbelievers. O Allah, from You alone we seek help, and from You alone we seek forgiveness, and we praise You, and we do not associate partners with You, and whoever disobeys You, we separate from him and abandon him." He used to recite this before bowing.
(b) If its chain of narration is authentic, then the narration of 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding reciting Qunut after bowing is more numerous. Abu Rafi', 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr, Abu 'Uthman al-Nahdi, and Zayd ibn Wahb (may Allah be pleased with them) have a better memory. The eloquence of 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr's speech indicates his strong memory and that of those who memorized from him. And it has been narrated to us through 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he recited Qunut in the Fajr prayer, he would say, "O Allah, from You alone we seek help, and from You alone we seek forgiveness." And it has been narrated to us through Abu 'Amr ibn 'Ala' that he would say in the Qunut supplication, "Indeed, Your punishment is bound to afflict the disbelievers."

(٣١٤٤) (ا) سعید بن عبدالرحمن بن ابزی اپنے والد سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) کے پیچھے صبح کی نماز پڑھی تو انھیں قراءت کے بعد رکوع سے پہلے یہ پڑھتے ہوئے سنا ” اللہم ایاک نعبد۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! ہم تیری ہی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور تیرے لیے ہی نماز پڑھتے ہیں اور سجدہ کرتے ہیں اور تیری طرف ہی دوڑتے ہیں اور کوشش کرتے ہیں۔ اور تیرے سخت عذاب سے ڈرتے ہیں اور تیری رحمت کے امیدوار ہیں۔ بیشک تیرا عذاب کافروں کو ملنے والا ہے۔ اے اللہ ! ہم تجھ ہی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے بخشش چاہتے ہیں اور تیری ثناء کرتے ہیں اور تیرے ساتھ کفر نہیں کرتے اور جو تیری نافرمانی کرے اس سے علیحدہ ہوتے ہیں اور اسے چھوڑتے ہیں۔ “ اسی طرح رکوع سے پہلے پڑھتے تھے۔
(ب) اگر اس کی سند صحیح ہو تو حضرت عمر (رض) کی روایت جو قنوت رکوع کے بعد پڑھنے والی تھی اس کی تعداد زیادہ ہے۔ ابورافع، عبید بن عمیر، ابوعثمان نہدی اور زید بن وہب (رض) حفظ میں زیادہ بہتر ہیں اور عبید بن عمیر کے سیاق کلام کی خوبصورتی ان کے حفظ پر اور جس نے ان سے حفظ کیا پر دلالت کرتی ہے اور ہمیں حضرت علی (رض) کے واسطہ سے بیان کیا گیا کہ انھوں نے فجر کی نماز میں قنوت پڑھی تو یہ دعا کی ” اللہم انا نستعینک وسنتغفرک۔۔۔“ ” اے اللہ ! ہم تجھ ہی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے بخشش طلب کرتے ہیں۔
اور ابوعمرو بن علا کے واسطے سے ہمیں حدیث بیان کی گئی کہ وہ دعائے قنوت میں پڑھتے تھے :” ان عذابک بالکفار ملحق “۔
(3144) (a) Saeed bin Abdur Rahman bin Abza apne walid se naql karte hain ki maine Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (Raz) ke peeche subah ki namaz parhi to unhen qirat ke baad ruku se pehle ye parhte hue suna ” Allahumma iyyaka na’budu…“ ” Aye Allah ! hum teri hi ibadat karte hain aur tere liye hi namaz parhte hain aur sijda karte hain aur teri taraf hi daurte hain aur koshish karte hain. (b) Agar is ki sanad sahih ho to Hazrat Umar (Raz) ki riwayat jo qunut ruku ke baad parhne wali thi us ki tadad zyada hai. Abu Rafi, Ubaid bin Umair, Abu Usman Nahdi aur Zaid bin Wahab (Raz) hifz mein zyada behtar hain aur Ubaid bin Umair ke siyaq kalam ki khoobsurati un ke hifz par aur jis ne un se hifz kiya par dalalat karti hai aur hamen Hazrat Ali (Raz) ke waste se bayan kiya gaya ki unhon ne fajar ki namaz mein qunut parhi to ye dua ki ” Allahumma inna nasta’eenuka wa nastaghfiruk…“ ” Aye Allah ! hum tujh hi se madad mangte hain aur tujh hi se bakhshish talab karte hain.
Aur Abu Amr bin Ala ke waste se hamen hadees bayan ki gai ki wo duae qunut mein parhte the :” In azabaka bil kuffar mulhaq “.
