Chapter on recommendation to marry those who are affectionate and fertile
باب استحباب التزوج بالودود الولود
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 13475
Ma'qil ibn Yasar reported that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have a proposal from a woman of good lineage and wealth, but she cannot bear children. Should I marry her?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade him. He came a second time and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave him the same answer, forbidding him. Then he came a third time and asked him the same question, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Marry the one who is loving and child-bearing, for I will boast of your multitude over the other nations."

(١٣٤٧٥) مقعل بن یسار فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک آدمی نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا۔ اس نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ! مجھے ایک عورت حسب نسب والی اور مال والی ملتی ہے لیکن وہ بچہ نہیں جنم دے سکتی۔ کیا میں اس سے شادی کرلوں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو منع کیا، پھر وہ دوسری مرتبہ آیا تو پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو یہی جواب دیا، یعنی منع کیا۔ پھر وہ تیسری دفعہ آیا اور آپ سے وہی سوال کیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم اس سے شادی کرو جو محبت کرنے والی ہو اور بچے کو جنم دینے والی ہو میں تمہاری کثرت کی بنا پر امتوں پر فخر کروں گا۔
13475 Muqal bin Yasar farmate hain ke ek aadmi Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas aaya Usne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم))! Mujhe ek aurat hasab nasab wali aur maal wali milti hai lekin woh bachcha nahin janam de sakti. Kya main usse shaadi kar loon? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne usko mana kiya, phir woh dusri martaba aaya to phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne usko yahi jawab diya, yani mana kiya. Phir woh teesri dafa aaya aur aapse wohi sawal kiya to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum usse shaadi karo jo muhabbat karne wali ho aur bachche ko janam dene wali ho main tumhari kasrat ki bana par ummaton par fakhr karoon ga.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to urge us to marry and he forbade us strictly to remain celibate. He said, "Marry women who are loving and fertile, for I will be proud of your great numbers before the nations."

(١٣٤٧٦) انس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہم کو شادی کا حکم دیتے اور علیحدہ رہنے سے بہت زیادہ منع کرتے اور فرماتے : تم محبت کرنے والی بچے جنم دینے والی سے شادی کرو، میں تمہاری کثرت کی بنا پر انبیاء پر فخر کروں گا۔
(13476) Anas (RA) se riwayat hai ke aap (SAW) hum ko shadi ka hukum dete aur alag rehne se bohat ziada mana karte aur farmate : tum mohabbat karne wali bachay janam dene wali se shadi karo, main tumhari kasrat ki bana par anbia par fakhar karoon ga.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, "Which woman is best?" He replied, "The one who pleases (her husband) when he looks at her, obeys him when he gives a command, and does not go against his wishes regarding her person and his wealth."

(١٣٤٧٧) ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سوال کیا گیا کہ کون سی عورت بہتر ہے ؟ فرمایا : وہ عورت جو خوش کر دے جب اس کی طرف دیکھا جائے اور اطاعت کرے جب اس کو حکم دیا جائے اور اپنے نفس اور مال میں اس کی مخالفت نہ کرے۔
(13477) Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain keh aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se sawal kiya gaya keh kaun si aurat behtar hai? Farmaya: Woh aurat jo khush kar de jab uski taraf dekha jae aur itaat kare jab usko hukum diya jae aur apne nafs aur maal mein uski mukhalfat na kare.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of your women are those who are loving, fertile, obedient, and caring. And the worst of your women are those who display their adornment, are boastful, and are hypocritical. None of them will enter Paradise except like the red-beaked and red-footed crow."

(١٣٤٧٨) نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تمہاری عورتوں میں سے بہترین محبت کرنے والیاں، بچے جننے والیاں، فرمان برداری، غم خواری کرنے والیاں ہیں اور بدترین عورتیں وہ ہیں جو زینت کو ظاہر کرنے والیاں، فخر کرنے والیاں ہیں اور وہ منافق عورتیں ہیں۔ ان میں سے کوئی بھی جنت میں نہیں جائے گی علاوہ سرخ چونچ اور پاؤں والے کوے کے۔
(13478) Nabi (SAW) ne farmaya: Tumhari auraton mein se behtarin mohabbat karne waliyan, bache janne waliyan, farmanbardari, ghamkhwari karne waliyan hain aur badtarin auraten wo hain jo zeenat ko zahir karne waliyan, fakhr karne waliyan hain aur wo munafiq auraten hain. In mein se koi bhi jannat mein nahi jayegi alawa surkh chonch aur paon wale kauwe ke.
After belief in Allah Almighty, the best thing is a woman of good character who is fertile and loving. And the worst thing after disbelief in Allah Almighty is a wicked woman who is sharp-tongued and ill-tempered. By Allah! Some women are obedient and not a cause of any trouble, and some women are like a collar that cannot be removed.

(١٣٤٧٩) سیدنا عمر فاروق (رض) نے لوگوں کو خطبہ دیتے ہوئے فرمایا : اللہ تعالیٰ پر ایمان کے بعد سب سے بہتر چیز اچھے اخلاق والی عورت ہے جو بچے جننے والی اور محبت کرنے والی ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے ساتھ کفر کے بعد سب سے بری چیز شریر عورت ہے جو تیز زبان اور بدخلق ہو۔ اللہ کی قسم ! بعض عورتیں اطاعت گزار ہوتی ہے جو کسی تکلیف کا باعث نہیں ہوتیں اور بعض عورتیں طوق ہوتی ہیں جن سے خلاصی ممکن نہیں۔
(13479) Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (RA) ne logon ko khutba dete huye farmaya : Allah Ta'ala par imaan ke baad sab se behtar cheez achhe akhlaq wali aurat hai jo bache janne wali aur mohabbat karne wali hai aur Allah Ta'ala ke saath kufr ke baad sab se buri cheez sharir aurat hai jo tez zaban aur badkhalaq ho. Allah ki qasam ! Baaz aurten itaat guzaar hoti hain jo kisi takleef ka baais nahi hoti aur baaz aurten tauq hoti hain jin se khalasi mumkin nahi.
Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! After accepting Islam, there is nothing more beneficial for a man than a woman with good character, who is loving and can bear children. By Allah! After Shirk (polytheism), there is nothing worse for a man than an ill-tempered, ill-mannered, and foul-mouthed woman. By Allah! Some women are like a noose around the neck, from which there is no escape, and some of them are obedient, causing no trouble.

(١٣٤٨٠) حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : اللہ کی قسم ! اسلام قبول کرنے کے بعد آدمی کے لیے اچھے اخلاق والی، محبت کرنے والی اور بچے جننے والی عورت کے سوا کوئی چیز فائدہ مند نہیں۔ اللہ کی قسم ! شرک کے بعد آدمی کے لیے بد مزاج، بدخلق اور بری زبان والی عورت سے زیادہ بری کوئی چیز نہیں۔ اللہ کی قسم ! بعض عورتیں گلے کا طوق ہیں جن سے خلاصی ممکن نہیں ہے اور ان میں سے بعض اطاعت گزار ہیں جن سے کوئی تکلیف نہیں پہنچی۔
(13480) Hazrat Umar (RA) ne farmaya: Allah ki qasam! Islam qubool karne ke baad aadmi ke liye achhe akhlaq wali, mohabbat karne wali aur bache janne wali aurat ke siwa koi cheez faida mand nahin. Allah ki qasam! Shirk ke baad aadmi ke liye bad mizaj, badkhalaq aur buri zaban wali aurat se zyada buri koi cheez nahin. Allah ki qasam! Baaz aurtein gale ka tauq hain jin se khalasi mumkin nahin hai aur in mein se baaz itaat guzaar hain jin se koi takleef nahin pahunchi.
