Chapter: A man should not associate himself with singing, should not earn income from it, should not become known for it, but is recognized for occasional singing
باب: الرجل لا ينسب نفسه إلى الغناء ولا يؤتى لذلك، ولا يأتي عليه، وإنما يعرف بأنه يطرب في الحال فيترنم فيها

Hisham bin Urwah narrated from his father, and he from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her while two young Ansari girls were singing beside her, narrating stories of the Ansar from the battle of Bu'ath. They were not singers. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and on the day of Eid?!" She (Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Abu Bakr! Every nation has its Eid, and this is our Eid."

(٢١٠١٢) ہشام بن عروہ اپنے والد سے اور وہحضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ ان کے پاس ابوبکر صدیق (رض) آئے اور میرے پاس دو انصاری بچیاں گا رہی تھیں۔ انصار کی وہ باتیں کر رہی تھیں، جو جنگ بعاث میں ان کو پیش آئیں اور وہ دونوں گانے والیاں نہ تھیں، حضرت ابوبکر (رض) فرمانے لگے : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے گھر میں گانے بجانے کے آلات، اور یہ عید کا دن تھا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اے ابوبکر ! ہر قوم کی عید ہوتی ہے، یہ ہماری عید کا دن ہے۔
21012 Hisham bin Urwah apne walid se aur woh Hazrat Ayesha (raz) se naqal farmate hain ke unke pass Abu Bakr Siddiq (raz) aaye aur mere pass do Ansaari bachiyan ga rahi thin. Ansaar ki woh baaten kar rahi thin, jo jang Badr mein unko pesh aayin aur woh dono ganewaliyan nah thin, Hazrat Abu Bakr (raz) farmane lage : Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke ghar mein ganay bajanay ke aalat, aur yeh eid ka din tha. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Aye Abu Bakr! Har qaum ki eid hoti hai, yeh hamari eid ka din hai.
Urwa bin Zubair narrated that Aisha (RA) said that Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) came to her during the days of Mina while two young girls were with her singing, playing on tambourines. The Prophet (PBUH) was lying covered with a sheet. Abu Bakr (RA) scolded them, and the Prophet (PBUH) uncovered his face and said, "Leave them, O Abu Bakr, for these are the days of Eid." These were the days of Mina, and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was in Medina. I (Aisha (RA)) saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and he had screened me with his Rida (sheet) while I was watching the display of a black Abyssinian in the mosque. I was a young girl then.

(٢١٠١٣) عروہ بن زبیر فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ ان کے پاس ابوبکر صدیق (رض) آئے اور منیٰ کے ایام میں ان کے پاس دو گانے والی بچیاں تھیں۔ وہ دونوں دف بجا رہی تھیں اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کپڑا اوڑھے لیٹے ہوئے تھے تو ابوبکر صدیق (رض) نے ان کو ڈانٹ پلائی۔ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چہرے سے کپڑا ہٹایا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ابوبکر چھوڑو، یہ عید کے ایام ہیں اور یہ منیٰ کے ایام تھے اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مدینہ میں تھے۔ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھے کپڑے سے چھپا رکھا تھا اور میں مسجد میں کھیلنے والے حبشیوں کی کھیل دیکھ رہی تھی۔ میں اس وقت بچی تھی۔
21013 Urooj bin Zabeer farmate hain ke Hazrat Ayesha (Raz) farmati hain ke unke paas Abu Bakr Siddique (Raz) aye aur Minah ke ayam mein unke paas do ganay wali bachian thin. Wo dono daf baja rahi thin aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kapda odhe lete hue thay to Abu Bakr Siddique (Raz) ne unko daant plai. Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chehre se kapda hataya. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Abu Bakr chhodo, yeh Eid ke ayam hain aur yeh Minah ke ayam thay aur Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Madinah mein thay. Maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mujhe kapde se chhupa rakha tha aur main masjid mein khelne wale Habshion ki khel dekh rahi thi. Main us waqt bachi thi.
Saib bin Yazid narrated that we were with Abdur Rahman bin Auf on our way to Hajj, and we intended to go to Makkah. Abdur Rahman went to one side of the road and said to Rabah bin Mughiraf: "Sing [a song]". He had a good voice, so he was making Rabah sing, when Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) caught them during his caliphate and asked: "What is this?" Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If you have to memorize poetry, then memorize the poetry of Dirar bin Khattab," and Dirar was a man from the tribe of Banu Muhaarib bin Fahr.

(٢١٠١٤) سائب بن یزید فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم عبدالرحمن بن عوف کے ساتھ حج کے راستہ میں تھے اور مکہ کا ارادہ تھا۔ عبدالرحمن راستے کی ایک طرف ہوگئے اور رباح بن مغترف سے کہنے لگے : گانا سناؤ۔ وہ اچھی آواز والے تھے تو رباح کو گانا سنا رہے تھے تو عمر بن خطاب (رض) نے اپنے دور خلافت میں ان کو پکڑ لیا اور پوچھا : یہ کیا ہے ؟ حضرت عمر (رض) فرمانے لگے : اگر آپ نے شعر ہی یاد کرنے ہیں تو پھر ضرار بن خطاب کے اشعار یاد کرو اور ضرار یہ قبیلہ بنو محارب بن فہر کا آدمی تھا۔
21014 Saib bin Yazid farmate hain keh hum Abdur Rahman bin Auf ke sath Hajj ke rastay mein thay aur Makkah ka irada tha. Abdur Rahman rastay ki aik taraf hogaye aur Rabah bin Mughtarif se kehnay lagay: gana sunao. Woh acchi aawaz walay thay to Rabah ko gana suna rahay thay to Umar bin Khattab (RA) ne apne dor khilafat mein unko pakad liya aur poocha: yeh kya hai? Hazrat Umar (RA) farmane lagay: agar apne shehr hi yaad karne hain to phir Zirar bin Khattab ke ashaar yaad karo aur Zirar yeh qabeela Banu Muhaarib bin Fihr ka aadmi tha.
Abdullah bin Harith bin Nawfal narrated that he saw Usama bin Zaid in a gathering, with one leg over the other and his voice raised. I think he was singing a song.

(٢١٠١٥) عبداللہ بن حارث بن نوفل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے اسامہ بن زید کو دیکھا، وہ ایک مجلس میں ایک پاؤں دوسرے پر رکھے ہوئے تھے اور ان کی آواز بلند تھی۔ میرا گمان ہے وہ سر لگا کر گا رہے تھے۔
(21015) Abdullah bin Haris bin نوفل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے Osama bin Zaid ko dekha, woh aik majlis mein aik paon doosre par rakhe hue the aur unki awaz buland thi. Mera gumaan hai woh sar laga kar ga rahe the.
(21016) Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Nawfal reported that he saw Usama bin Zaid lying in the Prophet's mosque with one leg over the other, and he was also dozing with his head down.

(٢١٠١٦) محمد بن عبداللہ بن نوفل نے خبر دی کہ اس نے اسامہ بن زید کو دیکھا، وہ مسجد نبوی میں پاؤں کے اوپر پاؤں رکھ کر لیٹے ہوئے تھے اور سرلگا کر گا بھی رہے تھے۔
(21016) Muhammad bin Abdullah bin نوفل ne khabar di ke usne Usama bin Zaid ko dekha, woh Masjid Nabvi mein paon ke upar paon rakh kar lete hue the aur sar laga kar gaa bhi rahe the.
(21017) Abu Mas'ud Uqbah ibn Amr Ansari participated in Badr. He is the grandfather of Zayd ibn Hasan. Sulaiman says: He narrated to me from the one who heard it from him, that he was on his ride and was the leader of the army. He was singing aloud.
(b) 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Utbah said that his father heard that 'Abdullah ibn Arqam was singing aloud, and 'Abdullah said that he had never seen anyone more God-fearing than 'Abdullah ibn Arqam.

(٢١٠١٧) ابو مسعود عقبہ بن عمرو انصاری بدر میں شریک تھے۔ وہ زید بن حسن کے دادا ہیں، سلیمان کہتے ہیں : مجھے اس نے خبر دی جس نے ان سے سنا، وہ اپنی سواری پر تھے اور لشکر کے امیر تھے۔ بلند آواز سے بڑی سر گا رہے تھے۔
(ب) عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عتبہ فرماتے ہیں کہ اس کے والدنے سنا کہ عبداللہ بن ارقم بلند آواز سے گا رہے تھے اور عبداللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن ارقم سے بڑھ کر اللہ سے ڈرنے والا انسان میں نے نہیں دیکھا۔
21017 Abu Masud Uqba bin Amro Ansari Badr mein sharik thay. Wo Zaid bin Hasan ke dada hain, Sulaiman kehte hain : mujhe is ne khabar di jis ne in se suna, wo apni sawari par thay aur lashkar ke ameer thay. Buland awaz se bari sar ga rahe thay.
b Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utba farmate hain ke is ke wald ne suna ke Abdullah bin Arqam buland awaz se ga rahe thay aur Abdullah farmate hain ke Abdullah bin Arqam se barh kar Allah se darne wala insan maine nahi dekha.
Wahb bin Kaysan said that Abdullah bin Zubair was reclining. Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was singing. A man said to him: Are you singing? He sat up straight and said: Which of the emigrants have you heard who did not sing with his head raised?

(٢١٠١٨) وہب بن کیسان فرماتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن زبیر ٹیک لگائے بیٹھے تھے۔ بلال (رض) گا رہے تھے، ان سے ایک آدمی نے کہا : گا رہے ہو ؟ وہ سیدھے ہو کر بیٹھ گئے۔ فرمانے لگے : کونسا مہاجرین کا آدمی ہے کہ میں نے اس کو سنا ہو اور وہ سر لگا کر نہ گاتا ہو۔
Wahab bin Kaisan farmate hain ki Abdullah bin Zubair tek lagaye baithe thay. Bilal (RA) ga rahay thay, un se aik aadmi ne kaha: ga rahay ho? Woh seedhe ho kar baith gaye. Farmane lage: kaunsa muhajireen ka aadmi hai ke maine us ko suna ho aur woh sar laga kar na gata ho.
