Anas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was observing prayer during Ramadan. I came and stood by his side. Then another man came, and he stood likewise till we became a group. When the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) perceived that we were behind him, he lightened the prayer. He then went to his abode and observed such (a long) prayer (the like of which) he never observed with us. When it was morning, we said to him, did you perceive us during the night? Upon this he said, yes, it was this that led me to do that which I did. He (the narrator) said, the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) began to observe uninterrupted fast (صومِ وِصال) at the end of the month (of Ramadan), and some persons among his Companions began to observe this uninterrupted fast, whereupon the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘what about such persons who observe uninterrupted fasts? You are not like me. By Allah. if the month were lengthened for me, I would have observed this, so that those who act with an exaggeration would (have been obliged) to abandon their exaggeration.
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رمضان میں نماز پڑھتے تھے میں بھی آ کر آپ کے پہلو میں کھڑا ہو گیا ایک اور آدمی آیا وہ بھی کھڑا ہو گیا حتی کہ ہم ایک جماعت بن گئے۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے محسوس کیا کہ میں بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے ہوں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نماز میں تخفیف شروع کر دی۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے گھر چلے گئے۔ تو ایسی نماز پڑھی جو ہمارے پاس نہیں پڑھی تھی۔ جب صبح ہوئی تو ہم نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا: کیا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو رات ہمارا پتہ چل گیا تھا؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہاں! اس چیز نے تو مجھے اس کام پر آمادہ کیا جو میں نے کیا۔“ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مہینہ کے آخری دنوں میں وصال کرنا شروع کر دیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھیوں میں سے بھی کچھ لوگوں نے وصال کرنا شروع کر دیا۔ تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگوں نے وصال کرنا کیوں شروع کر دیا ہے! تم میرے جیسے نہیں ہو، ہاں اللہ کی قسم! اگر یہ ماہ لمبا ہوتا تو میں اس انداز سے وصال کرتا کہ تشدد پسند اپنے تشدد اور انتہا پسندی سے باز آ جاتے۔
Hazrat Anas (Raziallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) Ramzan mein namaz padhte the main bhi aa kar aap ke pehlu mein khada ho gaya ek aur aadmi aaya woh bhi khada ho gaya hatta ke hum ek jamaat ban gaye. Jab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne mehsoos kiya ke main bhi aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke peechhe hun to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne namaz mein takhfeef shuru kar di. Phir aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) apney ghar chaley gaye. To aisi namaz padhi jo hamare pas nahi padhi thi. Jab subah hui to hum ne aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se poocha: Kya aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ko raat hamara pata chal gaya tha? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: "Han! Is cheez ne to mujhe is kaam par aamada kiya jo main ne kiya." Hazrat Anas (Raziallahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ke Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne mahine ke aakhri dinon mein wisal karna shuru kar diya to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ke sathiyon mein se bhi kuch logon ne wisal karna shuru kar diya. To Nabi Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: Logon ne wisal karna kyon shuru kar diya hai! Tum mere jaise nahi ho, han Allah ki qasam! Agar yeh mah लंबा hota to main is andaaz se wisal karta ke tashaddud pasand apney tashaddud aur inteha pasandi se baz aa jate.
