Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit narrates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would see the new moon, he would pray: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, all praise is for Allah, the strength to avoid sins and the power to do good is only from Allah, O Allah! I ask You for the goodness of this month. And I seek Your protection from the evil of destiny. And I seek Your protection from the evil of the Day of Judgment.
حضرت عبادہ بن الصامت فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نیا چاند دیکھتے تو یوں دعا فرماتے : اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، سب تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں، گناہوں سے بچنے کی طاقت اور نیکی کرنے کی قوت صرف اللہ کی مدد سے ہے، اے اللہ ! میں آپ سے اس مہینہ کی بھلائی مانگتا ہوں۔ اور میں تقدیر کے شر سے آپ کی پناہ لیتا ہوں۔ اور حشر کے دن کے شر سے میں آپ کی پناہ لیتا ہوں۔
Hazrat Ubadah bin Al-Saamit farmate hain ke Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab naya chand dekhte to yun dua farmate: Allah sab se bada hai, Allah sab se bada hai, sab tarifain Allah ke liye hain, gunahon se bachne ki taqat aur neki karne ki quwwat sirf Allah ki madad se hai, Aye Allah! main aapse is mahine ki bhalai mangta hun. Aur main taqdeer ke shar se aapki panaah leta hun. Aur hashar ke din ke shar se main aapki panaah leta hun.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Harmalah narrates that I was returning with Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyab, so we said: O Abu Muhammad! This is the new moon, so when you saw it, you said: I believe in the One who created you, so He made you equal and made you perfectly. Then turning to me, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray like this when he saw the new moon.
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن حرملہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت سعید بن المسیب کے ساتھ واپس لوٹ رہا تھا تو ہم نے کہا : اے ابو محمد ! یہ نیا چاند ہے، پس جب آپ نے اسے دیکھا تو فرمایا : میں ایمان لایا اس ذات پر جس نے تجھے پیدا کیا پس تجھے برابر اور تجھے ٹھیک ٹھیک بنایا۔ پھر میری طرف متوجہ ہو کر فرمانے لگے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نیا چاند دیکھتے تو اس طرح دعا فرماتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Harmalah farmate hain keh main Hazrat Saeed bin al-Musayyab ke sath wapas laut raha tha to hum ne kaha: Aye Abu Muhammad! Yeh naya chand hai, pas jab aap ne usay dekha to farmaya: Main iman laya us zaat per jis ne tujhe paida kiya pas tujhe barabar aur tujhe theek theek banaya. Phir meri taraf mutawajjah ho kar farmane lage. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab naya chand dekhte to is tarah dua farmate thay.
Hazrat Ubaidah narrates that Hazrat Ali said: When any one of you sees the new moon, do not raise your head towards it. It is enough for each of you to say: My Lord and your Lord is Allah.
حضرت عبیدہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی نے ارشاد فرمایا : جب تم میں سے کوئی ایک نیا چاند دیکھے تو اس کی طرف سر مت اٹھائے۔ تم میں سے ہر ایک کے لیے کافی ہے کہ وہ یوں کہہ لے۔ میرا رب اور تیرا رب اللہ ہے۔
Hazrat Ubaida farmate hain ke Hazrat Ali ne irshad farmaya: Jab tum mein se koi aik naya chand dekhe to us ki taraf sar mat uthaye. Tum mein se har aik ke liye kafi hai ke woh yun keh le. Mera Rab aur tera Rab Allah hai.
Hazrat Ubaidah narrates that whenever Hazrat Ali used to see the new moon, he would say: "O Allah! Grant us its goodness, and its help, and its blessings, and its victory and its light, and we seek Your protection from its evil and the evil of that which is after it."
حضرت عبیدہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی جب نیا چاند دیکھتے تو یوں فرمایا کرتے تھے : اے اللہ ! ہمیں عطا فرما اس کی بھلائی، اور اس کی مدد، اور اس کی برکت، اور اس کی فتح اور اس کا نور، اور ہم تیری پناہ لیتے ہیں اس کے شر سے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو اس کے بعد ہو۔
Hazrat Ubaidah farmate hain ke Hazrat Ali jab naya chand dekhte to yun farmaya karte the: Aye Allah! humain ata farma is ki bhalai, aur is ki madad, aur is ki barkat, aur is ki fatah aur is ka nur, aur hum teri panah lete hain is ke shar se aur is cheez ke shar se jo is ke baad ho.
Hazrat Mujahid narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas considered it disliked to go out specifically to see the new moon. However, when it appeared before him, he would recite these words: Allah is the Greatest, all praise is for Allah who took the moon like this and like this. And brought the moon like this and like this.
حضرت مجاہد فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابن عباس مکروہ سمجھتے تھے کہ خاص طور پر نیا چاند دیکھنے کے لیے کھڑا ہوا جائے۔ اور لیکن جب وہ سامنے نظر آجاتا تو یہ کلمات پڑھتے : اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو چاند کو اس طرح اور اس طرح لے گیا۔ اور اس طرح اور اس طرح چاند کو لے آیا۔
Hazrat Mujahid farmate hain ke Hazrat Ibn Abbas makruh samajhte the ke khas taur par naya chand dekhne ke liye khara hua jaye. Aur lekin jab wo samne nazar aata to ye kalmat parhte : Allah sab se bara hai, sab tarifen is Allah ke liye hain jo chand ko is tarah aur is tarah le gaya. Aur is tarah aur is tarah chand ko le aaya.
Hazrat Qatada narrates that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would see the new moon, he would say thrice: "The moon of goodness and guidance, the moon of guidance and goodness, and the moon of goodness and guidance. I believe in the One who created you." Then he would recite: "All praise is due to Allah, who took the moon like this and like that. And brought the moon like this and like that."
حضرت قتادہ فرماتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نیا چاند دیکھتے تو تین مرتبہ یوں کہتے : بھلائی اور ہدایت کا چاند ہے، ہدایت اور بھلائی کا چاند ہے، اور بھلائی اور ہدایت کا چاند ہے۔ میں ایمان لایا اس ذات پر جس نے تجھے پیدا کیا۔ پھر یہ پڑھتے سب تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو چاند کو اس طرح اور اس طرح لے گیا۔ اور چاند کو اس طرح اور اس طرح لے آیا۔
Hazrat Qatada farmate hain k Allah k nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab naya chand dekhte to teen martaba yun kehte: bhalaee aur hidayat ka chand hai, hidayat aur bhalaee ka chand hai, aur bhalaee aur hidayat ka chand hai. Mein eman laya is zaat par jisne tujhe paida kiya. Phir ye parhte sab tareefain is Allah k liye hain jo chand ko is tarah aur is tarah le gaya. Aur chand ko is tarah aur is tarah le aaya.
Hazrat Hussain ibn Ali narrates: I asked Hazrat Husham ibn Hassan: What Dua (supplication) did Hazrat Hassan (ibn Ali) used to recite when he saw the new moon? You said: He used to recite this Dua: "O Allah! Make this month a month of blessings and light and a month of reward and forgiveness. O Allah! You are the distributor of goodness among Your servants, so distribute to us from this goodness that You have distributed among Your righteous servants."
حضرت حسین بن علی فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ہشام بن حسان سے پوچھا : جب حضرت حسن نیا چاند دیکھتے تو کون سی دعا پڑھتے تھے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : وہ یہ دعا پڑھتے تھے ! اے اللہ ! اس مہینہ کو برکت اور نور کا مہینہ بنا دے اور اجر اور معافی کا مہینہ بنا دے ۔ اے اللہ تو اپنے بندوں کے درمیان بھلائی کو تقسیم فرمانے والا ہے، پس تو ہمارے درمیان بھی اس خیر میں سے تقسیم فرما دے، جو تو نے اپنے نیک بندوں کے درمیان تقسیم فرمائی ہے۔
Hazrat Hussain bin Ali farmate hain keh maine Hazrat Hisham bin Hassan se poocha: Jab Hazrat Hassan naya chand dekhte to kon si dua parhte thay? Aap ne farmaya: Woh yeh dua parhte thay! Aye Allah! Is mahine ko barkat aur noor ka mahina bana de aur ajr aur mafi ka mahina bana de. Aye Allah tu apne bandon ke darmiyan bhalai ko taqseem farmane wala hai, pas tu humare darmiyan bhi is khair mein se taqseem farma de, jo tu ne apne naik bandon ke darmiyan taqseem farmai hai.
Hazrat Hussain ibn Ali narrates that I asked Hazrat Ibn Juraij (about the new moon) so he narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ata: that a man saw the new moon in the land of Banj. He stated that I heard someone saying these words: O Allah! Bring out this moon upon us with peace and faith, and with safety and Islam, and with guidance and forgiveness, and with the success of every deed that pleases You, and with protection from every deed that You are displeased with. O moon, Your and my Lord is Allah. The man says: He continued reciting these words until I memorized them: and I did not see anyone there.
حضرت حسین بن علی فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ابن جریج سے سوال کیا (نئے چاند کے متعلق) تو انھوں نے حضرت عطاء کے حوالہ سے نقل کیا : کہ بیشک ایک آدمی نے بنجر زمین میں نیا چاند دیکھا۔ اس نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے کسی کو یہ کلمات کہتے ہوئے سنا : اے اللہ ! تو اس چاند کو ہم پر امن اور ایمان کے ساتھ، اور سلامتی اور اسلام کے ساتھ، اور ہدایت اور مغفرت کے ساتھ، اور ہر اس عمل کی توفیق کے ساتھ نکال جو تجھے پسند ہو، اور ہر اس عمل سے حفاظت کے ساتھ نکال جس سے تو ناراض ہوتا ہو۔ اے چاند تیرا اور میرا دونوں کا پروردگار اللہ ہے۔ وہ آدمی کہتا ہے : وہ مسلسل یہ کلمات پڑھتا رہا یہاں تک کہ میں نے ان کو یاد کرلیا : اور میں نے کسی کو بھی وہاں نہیں دیکھا۔
Hazrat Hussain bin Ali farmate hain keh maine Hazrat Ibn Juraij se sawal kiya (naye chand ke mutalliq) to unhon ne Hazrat Ata ke hawale se naqal kiya : keh beshak ek aadmi ne banjar zameen mein naya chand dekha. Usne bayan kiya keh maine kisi ko yeh kalmat kehte huye suna : Aye Allah ! Tu is chand ko hum per aman aur imaan ke saath, aur salamti aur Islam ke saath, aur hidayat aur magfirat ke saath, aur har us amal ki taufeeq ke saath nikal jo tujhe pasand ho, aur har us amal se hifazat ke saath nikal jisse tu naraz hota ho. Aye chand tera aur mera donon ka parwardigaar Allah hai. Woh aadmi kehta hai : woh musalsal yeh kalmat parhta raha yahan tak keh maine un ko yaad karliya : aur maine kisi ko bhi wahan nahin dekha.
Hazrat Mughirah narrates that Hazrat Ibrahim liked that when a person sees the new moon, he should recite these words: O moon, your and my Lord is Allah.
حضرت مغیرہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابراہیم پسند کرتے تھے کہ جب کوئی آدمی نیا چاند دیکھے تو یہ کلمات پڑھے : اے چاند تیرا اور میرا پروردگار اللہ ہے۔
Hazrat Mugheera farmate hain keh Hazrat Ibrahim pasand karte thay keh jab koi aadmi naya chaand dekhe to yeh kalmat parhe: Aye chaand tera aur mera parwardigaar Allah hai.
