Zar bin Hubaysh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: One day, I went to Sa'fwan bin 'Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask him about the ruling on wiping over the socks. He asked, "What brings you here?" I said, "I came to seek knowledge about a religious practice." He said, "Shall I not give you good news?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The angels spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of joy for his seeking knowledge." Then, he narrated the entire Hadith.

زر بن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دن میں حضرت صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس مسح الخفین کا حکم پوچھنے کے لئے حاضر ہوا تو انہوں نے پوچھا کیسے آنا ہوا؟ میں نے کہا حصول عمل کے سلسلے میں حاضر ہوا ہوں انہوں نے فرمایا کیا میں تمہیں خوشخبری نہ سناؤں؟ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اللہ کے فرشتے طالب علم کے لئے " طلب علم پر خوشی ظاہر کرتے ہوئے " اپنے پر بچھا دیتے ہیں پھر پوری حدیث ذکر کی۔
Zar bin Habish rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik din main Hazrat Safwan bin Asal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke paas masah ul khafain ka hukum puchne ke liye haazir hua to unhon ne pucha kaise aana hua? Main ne kaha husool amal ke silsile main haazir hua hun unhon ne farmaya kya main tumhen khushkhabri na sunaun? Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya Allah ke farishte talib ilm ke liye " talab ilm par khushi zahir karte hue " apne par bichha dete hain phir poori hadith zikar ki.
Zar bin Habish, may Allah have mercy on him, said that I visited Medina during the caliphate of Uthman Ghani, may Allah be pleased with him. The purpose of the trip was to meet Abi bin Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, and other companions, may Allah be pleased with them. I met Safwan bin Asal, may Allah be pleased with him. I asked him, "Have you seen the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?" He said, "Yes! I participated in twelve (12) battles with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him."

زر بن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت عثمان غنی رضی اللہ عنہ کے دور خلافت میں مدینہ منورہ حاضر ہوا سفر کا مقصد حضرت ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ اور دیگر صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملاقات تھی میری ملاقات حضرت صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوئی میں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ کیا آپ نے نبی کریم ﷺ کی زیارت کی ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا ہاں! میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ (12) بارہ غزوات میں بھی حصہ لیا ہے۔

Zirr bin Hubaish (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he went to Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about the order of wiping over the socks. He said: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a journey, and he commanded us not to take off our socks for three days, except if one became junub (sexually impure), but not for urination, defecation, or sleep. And a villager with a loud voice came and said, “O Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! What is the ruling on a man who loves a people but is not with them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A man will be (on the Day of Judgement) with those whom he loves."

زر بن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور ان سے موزوں پر مسح کرنے کا حکم پوچھا انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ سفر میں تھے تو آپ ﷺ ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ تین دن تک اپنے موزے نہ اتاریں الاّ یہ کہ کسی کو جنابت لاحق ہوجائے لیکن پیشاب پائخانے اور نیند کی حالت میں اس کے اتارنے کا حکم نہیں تھا۔ اور ایک بلند آواز والا دیہاتی آیا اور کہنے لگا اے محمد! ﷺ اگر ایک آدمی کسی قوم سے محبت کرتا ہو لیکن ان میں شامل نہ ہو تو کیا حکم ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا انسان (قیامت کے دن) اسی کے ساتھ ہوگا جس سے وہ محبت کرتا ہے۔

It is narrated on the authority of Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a Jew said to his companion, "Come, let us go to this Prophet and ask him about this verse: 'Indeed, We gave Moses nine clear signs.'" He replied, "Don't call him a Prophet because if they hear this, they will become even more arrogant. Anyway, let's go!" So, they went to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and inquired about the meaning of this verse. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explained, "Do not associate anyone with Allah in worship, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not kill anyone unjustly whom Allah has forbidden to kill, do not practice magic, do not consume interest, do not hand over an innocent person to an authority to be killed, do not accuse a chaste woman of adultery (or he said, do not flee from the battlefield), and O Jews! You are specifically commanded not to transgress the limits regarding the Sabbath." Hearing this, both of them kissed the blessed hands of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and kissed his feet as well, saying, "We bear witness that you are indeed the Prophet of Allah." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Then why do you not follow me?" They replied, "Prophet David (peace be upon him) prayed that there should always be prophets among his progeny. We fear that if we embrace Islam, the Jews will kill us."

حضرت صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ایک یہودی نے اپنے ساتھی سے کہا کہ آؤ! اس نبی کے پاس چل کر اس آیت کے متعلق ان سے پوچھتے ہیں کہ " ہم نے موسیٰ کو نو واضح نشانیاں دی تھیں " اس نے کہا کہ انہیں نبی مت کہو کیونکہ اگر انہوں نے یہ بات سن لی ان کی چار آنکھیں ہوجائیں گی، بہرحال! انہوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس آیت کے متعلق دریافت کیا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس کی تفصیل بتاتے ہوئے فرمایا اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک مت ٹھہراؤ چوری مت کرو، زنا مت کرو، کسی ایسے شخص کو ناحق قتل مت کرو جسے قتل کرنا اللہ نے حرام قرار دیا ہو، جادو مت کرو، سود مت کھاؤ کسی بےگناہ کو کسی طاقتور کے پاس مت لے جاؤ کہ وہ اسے قتل کردے کسی پاکدامن پر بدکاری کی تہمت نہ لگاؤ (یا یہ فرمایا کہ میدان جنگ سے راہ فرار اختیار نہ کرو) اور اے یہودیو! تمہیں خصوصیت کے ساتھ حکم ہے کہ ہفتہ کے دن کے معاملے میں حد سے تجاوز نہ کرو۔ یہ سن کر ان دونوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کے دست مبارک چومے اور پاؤں کو بھی بوسہ دیا اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم آپ کے نبی ہونے کی گواہی دیتے ہیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا پھر تم میری پیروی کیوں نہیں کرتے؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ حضرت داؤد (علیہ السلام) نے یہ دعاء فرمائی تھی کہ ہمیشہ ان کی اولاد میں نبی آتے رہیں، ہمیں اندیشہ ہے کہ اگر ہم نے اسلام قبول کرلیا تو یہودی ہمیں قتل کردیں گے۔
Hazrat Safwan razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki aik martaba aik yahodi ne apne sathi se kaha ki aao! iss nabi ke paas chalkar iss ayat ke mutalliq inn se poochte hain ki "hum ne Musa ko nau wazeh nishaniyan di thi" usne kaha ki inhen nabi mat kaho kyunki agar inhon ne yeh baat sun li inn ki chaar aankhen ho jaayengi, beherhaal! inhon ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se iss ayat ke mutalliq daryaft kiya to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne iss ki tafseel batate huye farmaya Allah ke sath kisi ko sharik mat thehrao chori mat karo, zina mat karo, kisi aise shakhs ko nahaq qatal mat karo jise qatal karna Allah ne haram qarar diya ho, jadu mat karo, sud mat khao kisi begunah ko kisi taqatwar ke paas mat le jaao ki woh use qatal karde kisi pakdamann par badkari ki tohmat na lagao (ya yeh farmaya ki maidan جنگ se raah farar ikhtiyar na karo) aur aye yahodiyo! tumhen khususiyat ke sath hukm hai ki hafta ke din ke mamle mein hadd se tajawuz na karo. Yeh sunkar inn donon ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke dast mubarak choome aur paon ko bhi bosa diya aur kehne lage ki hum aap ke nabi hone ki gawahi dete hain Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya phir tum meri pairvi kyun nahin karte? inhon ne jawab diya ki Hazrat Dawood alaihissalam ne yeh dua farmaai thi ki hamesha inn ki aulad mein nabi aate rahen, humein andesha hai ki agar hum ne Islam qubool karliya to yahodi humein qatal kar denge.

I was in the army that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent out. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us that if we wore our socks in a state of purity and were traveling, we could wipe over them for three days, and if we were residing, then for a day and a night, unless one experienced major impurity (janabah). However, there was no command to remove them for urination, defecation, or sleep." And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, "There is a gate in the West that is open for repentance, the distance of which is seventy years. It will not be closed until the sun rises from the West."

زر بن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دن میں حضرت صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس مسح علی الخفین کا حکم پوچھنے کے لئے حاضر ہوا تو انہوں نے پوچھا کیسے آنا ہوا؟ میں نے کہا حصول عمل کے سلسلے میں حاضر ہوا ہوں انہوں فرمایا کیا میں تمہیں خوشخبری نہ سناؤں؟ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اللہ کے فرشتے طالب علم کے لئے " طلب علم پر خوشی ظاہر کرتے ہوئے " اپنے پر بچھا دیتے ہیں پھر پوری حدیث ذکر کی۔ زربن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ان سے عرض کیا کہ میں آپ سے مسح علی الخفین کے متعلق پوچھنے کے لئے آیا ہوں انہوں نے فرمایا اچھا میں اس لشکر میں تھا جسے نبی کریم ﷺ نے بھیجا تھا نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیں یہ حکم دیا تھا کہ ہم نے طہارت کی حالت میں موزے پہنے ہوں اور ہم مسافر ہوں تو تین دن تک اور اگر مقیم ہوں تو ایک دن رات تک ان پر مسح کرسکتے ہیں الاّ یہ کہ کسی کو جنابت لاحق ہوجائے لیکن پیشاب پائخانے اور نیند کی حالت میں اس کے اتارنے کا حکم نہیں تھا۔ اور میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ مغرب میں ایک دروازہ ہے جو توبہ کے لئے کھلا ہوا ہے اس کی مسافت ستر سال پر محیط ہے وہ اس وقت تک بند نہیں ہوگا جب تک سورج مغرب سے طلوع نہ ہو جائے۔

Zar bin Habish rahmatullah alaih kahte hain ke main ne un se arz kiya ke main aap se Masah alal khuffain ke mutalliq poochhne ke liye aaya hun unhon ne farmaya achcha main is lashkar mein tha jise Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne bheja tha Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hamen ye hukum diya tha ke hum ne taharat ki halat mein moze pehne hon aur hum musafir hon to teen din tak aur agar muqeem hon to aik din raat tak un par masah kar sakte hain illa ye ke kisi ko janabat laheq ho jaye lekin peshab pakhane aur neend ki halat mein is ke utarne ka hukum nahin tha. Aur main ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai ke maghrib mein aik darwaza hai jo tauba ke liye khula hua hai is ki musafat sattar saal par muheet hai woh is waqt tak band nahin hoga jab tak sooraj maghrib se taloo na ho jaye.
Narrated by Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him): Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), while sending us off with a detachment, said, "Go forth in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Do not act treacherously, nor kill any child." And he (the Prophet) permitted the traveler to wipe over his socks for three days and nights, provided that he had worn them in a state of ablution. And for the resident, permission was granted for one day and night.

حضرت صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیں دستے کے ساتھ روانہ کرتے ہوئے فرمایا اللہ کا نام لے کر اللہ کے راستہ میں روانہ ہوجاؤ اللہ کے دشمنوں سے قتال کرو خیانت کرو اور نہ ہی کسی بچے کو قتل کرو۔ اور مسافر کے لئے اجازت ہے کہ وہ تین دن رات تک اپنے موزوں پر مسح کرسکتا ہے جب کہ اس نے وضو کی حالت میں موزے پہنے ہوں اور مقیم کے لئے ایک دن رات کی اجازت ہے۔
Hazrat Safwan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne humein daste ke sath rawana karte hue farmaya Allah ka naam lekar Allah ke raaste mein rawana hojao Allah ke dushmanon se qatal karo khiyanat karo aur na hi kisi bache ko qatal karo. Aur musafir ke liye ijazat hai ki wo teen din raat tak apne mozon par masah kar sakta hai jabke usne wazu ki halat mein moze pehne hon aur muqeem ke liye ek din raat ki ijazat hai.
Zarban Habshi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: One day I went to visit Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) and he asked me, "What brings you here?" I replied, "I came seeking knowledge." He said, "The angels spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge, rejoicing in his pursuit." Zarban Habshi (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "I went to Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, 'I have a doubt in my heart about wiping over the socks after urinating. Since you are a companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I came to ask you if you have heard him say anything about it.'" He replied, "We used to travel with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would command us not to remove our socks for three days, except in the case of Janabah (major impurity). But he did not command us to remove them after urinating, defecating, or sleeping." I asked him, "Did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mention anything about 'desire'?" He replied, "Yes! Once, while we were traveling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a loud Bedouin came and said, 'O Muhammad!' We said, 'Lower your voice, it is forbidden.' He said, 'I will not lower my voice.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Speak your words and he addressed him in the manner in which he had asked.' He said, 'Tell me, if a man loves a people but is not among them, what is the ruling?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'A man will be (on the Day of Judgment) with those whom he loves.' Then he continued narrating hadiths to us until he said, 'There is a gate in the West which is open for repentance, and its distance is a journey of seventy years. Allah opened it on the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it will not be closed until the sun rises from the West.'"

زربن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دن میں حضرت صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ کی پاس حاضر ہوا تو انہوں نے پوچھا کیسے آنا ہوا؟ میں نے کہا حصول عمل کے سلسلے میں حاضر ہوا ہوں انہوں فرمایا اللہ کے فرشتے طالب علم کے لئے " طلب علم پر خوشی ظاہر کرتے ہوئے " اپنے پر بچھا دیتے ہیں . زربن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور ان سے عرض کیا کہ میرے دل میں پیشاب پائخانے کے بعد موزوں پر مسح کرنے کے حوالے سے کھٹک پیداہوئی ہے آپ چونکہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے صحابی ہیں اس لئے میں آپ سے یہ پوچھنے کے لئے آیا ہوں کہ آپ نے اس حوالے سے نبی کریم ﷺ کو کچھ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ سفر میں ہوتے تھے تو آپ ﷺ ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ تین دن تک اپنے موزے نہ اتاریں الاّیہ کہ کسی کو جنابت لاحق ہوجائے لیکن پیشاب ' پائخانے اور نیند کی حالت میں اس کے اتارنے کا حکم نہیں تھا۔ میں نے ان سے کہ کیا آپ نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو " خواہش " کا تذکرہ کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا ہاں! ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ہمراہ کسی سفر میں تھے کہ ایک بلند آواز والا دیہاتی آیا اور کہنے لگا اے محمد! ﷺ ہم نے اس سے کہا ارے او! آواز نیچی کر، اس کی ممانعت کی گئی ہے اس نے کہا کہ میں تو اپنی آواز پست نہیں کروں گا نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم اپنی بات کرو اور اس انداز میں اسے جواب دیا جیسے اس نے سوال کیا تھا، اس نے کہا یہ بتائیے کہ اگر ایک آدمی کسی قوم سے محبت کرتا ہو لیکن ان میں شامل نہ ہو تو کیا حکم ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا انسان (قیامت کے دن) اسی کے ساتھ ہوگا جس سے وہ محبت کرتا ہے۔ پھر وہ ہمیں مسلسل حدیثیں سناتے رہے حتیٰ کہ فرمایا مغرب میں ایک دروازہ ہے جو توبہ کے لئے کھلا ہوا ہے اس کی مسافت ستر سال پر محیط ہے اللہ نے اسے آسمان و زمین کی تخلیق کے دن کھولا تھا وہ اس وقت تک بند نہیں ہوگا جب تک سورج مغرب سے طلوع نہ ہوجائے۔

Unhon ne farmaya ke hum log Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath safar mein hote the to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humein hukm dete the ke teen din tak apne moze na utarain illa ke kisi ko janabat laheq hojae lekin peshab ' paikhane aur neend ki halat mein is ke utarne ka hukm nahin tha. Main ne un se kaha kya aap ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko " khwahish " ka tazkara karte hue suna hai? Unhon ne farmaya haan! Ek martaba hum log Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hamrah kisi safar mein the ke ek buland awaz wala dehati aaya aur kehne laga aye Muhammad! (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hum ne us se kaha are o! Awaz neechi karo, is ki mamanat ki gayi hai us ne kaha ke main to apni awaz past nahin karunga Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum apni baat karo aur is andaz mein use jawab diya jaise us ne sawal kiya tha, us ne kaha yeh bataiye ke agar ek aadmi kisi qaum se mohabbat karta ho lekin un mein shamil na ho to kya hukm hai? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya insan (qiyamat ke din) usi ke sath hoga jis se woh mohabbat karta hai. Phir woh humein musalsal hadithen sunate rahe hatta ke farmaya maghrib mein ek darwaza hai jo tauba ke liye khula hua hai is ki masafat sattar saal par muheet hai Allah ne use aasman o zameen ki takhleeq ke din khola tha woh is waqt tak band nahin hoga jab tak suraj maghrib se taloo na hojae.
It is narrated on the authority of Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a Jew said to his companion, "Come, let us go to that Prophet and ask him about the verse in which Allah says, 'And indeed We gave Musa nine clear signs.' " His companion said, "Do not call him a Prophet, for if he hears this, he will become arrogant." Anyway, they went to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked him about the verse. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explained it to them, saying, "Do not associate anything with Allah, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not kill anyone whom Allah has forbidden to kill unjustly, do not practice magic, do not consume interest, do not hand over an innocent person to a powerful person to kill, do not accuse a chaste woman of adultery (or he said, do not run away from the battlefield), and O Jews! You are specifically commanded not to transgress the limits of the Sabbath." Hearing this, they both said, "We bear witness that you are the Prophet of Allah."

حضرت صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ایک یہودی نے اپنے ساتھی سے کہا کہ آؤ! اس نبی کے پاس چل کر اس آیت کے متعلق ان سے پوچھتے ہیں کہ " ہم نے موسیٰ کو نوواضح نشانیاں دی تھیں " اس نے کہا کہ انہیں نبی مت کہو کیونکہ اگر انہوں نے یہ بات سن لی ان کی چار آنکھیں ہوجائیں گی، بہرحال! انہوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس آیت کے متعلق دریافت کیا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس کی تفصیل بتاتے ہوئے فرمایا اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک مت ٹھہراؤ چوری مت کرو، زنا مت کرو، کسی ایسے شخص کو ناحق قتل مت کرو جسے قتل کرنا اللہ نے حرام قرار دیا ہو، جادو مت کرو، سود مت کھاؤ کسی نے بےگناہ کو کسی طاقتور کے پاس مت لے جاؤ کہ وہ اسے قتل کردے کسی پاکدامن پر بدکاری کی تہمت نہ لگاؤ (یا یہ فرمایا کہ میدان جنگ سے راہ فراراختیار نہ کرو) اور اے یہودیو! تمہیں خصوصیت کے ساتھ حکم ہے کہ ہفتہ کے دن کے معاملے میں حد سے تجاوز نہ کرو . یہ سن کر وہ دونوں کہنے لگے کہ ہم آپ کے نبی ہونے کی گواہی دیتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Safwan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba ek yahudi ne apne sathi se kaha ki aao! Iss nabi ke pass chalkar iss ayat ke mutalliq inn se puchte hain ki "Hum ne Musa ko nau wazeh nishaniyan di thi" Iss ne kaha ki inhen nabi mat kaho kyunki agar inhon ne yeh baat sun li in ki chaar aankhen ho jaayengi, beherhaal! Inhon ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se iss ayat ke mutalliq daryaft kiya to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne iss ki tafseel batate huye farmaya Allah ke saath kisi ko sharik mat thehrao chori mat karo, zina mat karo, kisi aise shaks ko nahaq qatal mat karo jise qatal karna Allah ne haram qarar diya ho, jadu mat karo, sud mat khao kisi ne begunah ko kisi taqatwar ke pass mat le jao ki woh use qatal karde kisi pakdaman par badkari ki tohmat na lagao (ya yeh farmaya ki maidan جنگ se raah e firar ikhtiyar na karo) aur aye yahudio! Tumhen khususiyat ke saath hukum hai ki hafta ke din ke mamle mein had se tajawuz na karo. Yeh sunkar woh dono kehne lage ki hum aap ke nabi hone ki gawahi dete hain.
Narrated Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent us on an expedition and said, "Go forth in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Do not act treacherously, nor deceive, nor mutilate the dead bodies, nor kill any child. And it is permissible for a traveler to wipe over his leather socks for three days and nights, and for a resident, one day and night."

حضرت صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیں کسی دستے کے ساتھ روانہ کرتے ہوئے فرمایا اللہ کا نام لے کر اللہ کے راستہ میں روانہ ہوجاؤ اللہ کے دشمنوں سے قتال کرو، خیانت کرو نہ دھوکہ دو نہ اعضاء کاٹو اور نہ ہی کسی بچے کو قتل کرو۔ اور مسافر کے لئے اجازت ہے کہ وہ تین دن رات تک اپنے موزوں پر مسح کرسکتا ہے اور مقیم کے لئے ایک دن رات کی اجازت ہے۔
Hazrat Safwan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne humein kisi daste ke sath rawana karte hue farmaya Allah ka naam lekar Allah ke raaste mein rawana hojao Allah ke dushmanon se qatal karo, khiyanat karo na dhoka do na aazaa kato aur na hi kisi bache ko qatal karo. Aur musafir ke liye ijazat hai ki wo teen din raat tak apne mozon par masah karsakta hai aur muqeem ke liye ek din raat ki ijazat hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Safwaan bin 'Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The angels of Allah spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge, "rejoicing in his pursuit of knowledge."

حضرت صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اللہ کے فرشتے طالب علم کے لئے " طلب علم پر خوشی ظاہر کرتے ہوئے " اپنے پر بچھا دیتے ہیں .

Zarban Habshi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: One day I visited Safwan ibn Assal, may Allah be pleased with him, and he asked, “What brings you here?” I said, “I came in pursuit of righteous deeds.” He said, “The angels of Allah spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge, rejoicing in his pursuit.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A man will be with whom he loves.” Then he continued to narrate hadiths to us until he said, “In the west, there is a gate for repentance, the width of which is a seventy-year journey. Allah opened it on the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it will not be closed until the sun rises from the west.” This is the meaning of the verse, “On the Day when some of the signs of your Lord come…” [Surat az-Zukhruf 43:61]

زربن حبیش رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دن میں حضرت صفوان بن عسال رضی اللہ عنہ کی پاس حاضر ہوا تو انہوں نے پوچھا کیسے آنا ہوا؟ میں نے کہا حصول عمل کے سلسلے میں حاضر ہوا ہوں انہوں فرمایا اللہ کے فرشتے طالب علم کے لئے " طلب علم پر خوشی ظاہر کرتے ہوئے " اپنے پر بچھا دیتے ہیں . نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا انسان (قیامت کے دن) اسی کے ساتھ ہوگا جس سے وہ محبت کرتا ہے . پھر وہ ہمیں مسلسل حدیثیں سناتے رہے حتیٰ کہ فرمایا مغرب میں ایک دروازہ ہے جو توبہ کے لئے کھلا ہوا ہے اس کی مسافت ستر سال پر محیط ہے اللہ نے اسے آسمان و زمین کی تخلیق کے دن کھولا تھا وہ اس وقت تک بند نہیں ہوگا جب تک سورج مغرب سے طلوع نہ ہوجائے، یہی مطلب ہے اس ارشادباری تعالیٰ یوم تاتی بعض آیات ربک۔۔۔۔۔۔ الآیہ
