Yazid bin Abdullah said: "My father once heard me reciting Bismillah loudly in prayer, so he said: 'Son, avoid that.' Yazid said: 'I have not seen any companion of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, hating innovation more than him, for I prayed with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the three Caliphs, and I did not hear any of them reciting Bismillah loudly, so do not recite it loudly either, but rather begin the recitation with Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alameen."

یزید بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میرے والد نے مجھے نماز میں بآواز بلند بسم اللہ پڑھتے ہوئے سنا تو فرمایا کہ بیٹا اس سے اجتناب کر و، یزید کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ان سے زیادہ نبی ﷺ کے کسی صحابی کو بدعت سے اتنی نفرت کرتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا، کیونکہ میں نے نبی ﷺ اور تینوں خلفاء کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی ہے، میں نے ان میں سے کسی کو بلند آواز سے بسم اللہ پڑھتے ہوئے نہیں سنا لہذا تم بھی نہ پڑھا کر و، بلکہ الحمدللہ رب العلمین سے قرأت کا آغاز کیا کر و۔
Yazid bin Abdullah kahte hain ki ek martaba mere walid ne mujhe namaz mein baawaz buland bismillah parhte huye suna to farmaya ki beta is se ijtinab kar, Yazid kahte hain ki maine un se ziada Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke kisi sahabi ko bidat se itni nafrat karte huye nahin dekha, kyunki maine Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aur teeno khulfa ke sath namaz parhi hai, maine un mein se kisi ko buland awaz se bismillah parhte huye nahin suna lihaza tum bhi na parh kar, balke Alhamdulillah rabbil Aalameen se qirat ka aghaz kya karo.
It was narrated from Abdullah bin Mughaffal Al-Muzani that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Were it not that dogs are a nation among the nations, I would have commanded that they all be killed. But kill every black dog with two black spots (above its eyes), for verily, it is a devil." And: "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." And: "Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for herding livestock or a hunting dog, one Qirat will be deducted from his reward each day." And he commanded us that we could pray in sheep-pens, but we should not pray in camels' pens, for they are created from the Jinn.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر کتے بھی ایک امت نہ ہوتے تو میں ان کی نسل ختم کرنے کا حکم دے دیتا، لہذا جو انتہائی کالا سیاہ کتا ہو، اسے قتل کر دیا کر و اور جو لوگ بھی اپنے یہاں کتے کو رکھتے ہیں جو کھیت، شکار یا ریوڑ کی حفاظت کے لئے نہ ہو، ان کے اجر وثواب سے روزانہ ایک قیراط کی کمی ہو تی رہتی ہے۔ اور ہمیں حکم تھا کہ بکریوں کے ریوڑ میں نماز پڑھ سکتے ہیں لیکن اونٹوں کے باڑے میں نماز نہیں پڑھ سکتے، کیونکہ ان کی پیدائش شیطان سے ہوئی ہے (ان کی فطرت میں شیطانیت پائی جاتی ہے)
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Agar kutte bhi ek ummat na hote to main un ki nasal khatam karne ka hukm de deta, lihaza jo intehai kala siyah kutta ho, use qatl kar diya karo aur jo log bhi apne yahan kutte ko rakhte hain jo khet, shikar ya rewar ki hifazat ke liye na ho, un ke ajr o sawab se rozana ek qirat ki kami hoti rahti hai. Aur hamen hukm tha ki bakriyon ke rewar mein namaz parh sakte hain lekin oonton ke bare mein namaz nahi parh sakte, kyunki un ki paidaish shaitan se hui hai (un ki fitrat mein shaitanniyat paayi jati hai).
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, reciting the Holy Quran on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah. If people did not gather around me, I would recite it to you in the manner of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recited Surah Al-Fath. Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah said: If I were not afraid of people gathering around me, I would have narrated to you the narration of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal and shown you how the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to recite.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو فتح مکہ کے موقع پر قرآن کر یم پڑھتے ہوئے سنا تھا، اگر لوگ میرے پاس مجمع نہ لگاتے تو میں تمہیں نبی ﷺ کے انداز میں پڑھ کر سناتا، نبی ﷺ نے سورت فتح کی تلاوت فرمائی تھی۔ معاویہ بن قرہ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر مجھے بھی مجمع لگ جانے کا اندیشہ نہ ہوتا تو میں تمہارے سامنے سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل کا بیان کر دہ طرز نقل کر کے دکھاتا کہ نبی ﷺ نے کس طرح قرأت فرمائی تھی۔
Sayyidin Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni RA se marvi hai keh maine Nabi SAW ko Fatah Makkah ke mauqe per Quran Kareem parhte huye suna tha, agar log mere pas majma na lagate to main tumhen Nabi SAW ke andaz main parh kar sunata, Nabi SAW ne Surah Fath ki tilawat farmai thi. Muawiya bin Qurrah kehte hain keh agar mujhe bhi majma lag jane ka andesha na hota to main tumhare samne Sayyidina Abdullah bin Mughaffal ka bayan kar de tarz naqal kar ke dikhata keh Nabi SAW ne kis tarah qirat farmai thi.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Between every two calls to prayer there is a prayer, whoever wishes may offer it.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہر دواذانوں کے درمیان نماز ہے، جو چاہے پڑھ لے۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Har do adhanon ke darmiyan namaz hai, jo chahe padh le.
Narrated `Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani: During the battle of Khaibar, I found a leather container full of fat. I took it and put it under my armpit and said, "I will not give any of this to anybody." Suddenly, I looked up and saw the Prophet (ﷺ) smiling at me.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ غزوہ خیبر کے موقع پر مجھے چمڑے کا ایک برتن ملا جس میں چربی تھی، میں نے اسے پکڑ کر بغل میں دبا لیا اور کہنے لگا کہ میں اس میں سے کسی کو کچھ نہیں دوں گا، اچانک میری نظر پڑی تو نبی ﷺ مجھے دیکھ کر مسکرا رہے تھے۔
Syedna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni RA se marvi hai keh Ghazwa Khyber ke mauqe par mujhe chamre ka aik bartan mila jis mein charbi thi, maine use pakar kar baghal mein daba liya aur kehne laga keh mein is mein se kisi ko kuch nahi dun ga, achanak meri nazar pari to Nabi SAW mujhe dekh kar muskura rahe thay.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, initially ordered the killing of dogs, then later said that it was no longer necessary and permitted keeping dogs for hunting and for guarding flocks of goats. And he said that when a dog puts its mouth in a utensil, it should be washed seven times, and the eighth time it should be rubbed with earth.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ابتداء کتوں کو مار ڈالنے کا حکم دیا تھا، پھر بعد میں فرما دیا کہ اب اس کی ضرورت نہیں ہے اور شکاری کتے اور بکریوں کے ریوڑ کی حفاظت کے لئے کتے رکھنے کی اجازت دے دی۔ اور فرمایا کہ جب کسی برتن میں کتا منہ ڈال دے تو اسے سات مرتبہ دھویا کر و اور آٹھویں مرتبہ مٹی سے بھی مانجھا کر و۔
Seyedna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni RA se marvi hai ki Nabi SAW ne ibteda kutton ko maar dalne ka hukum diya tha phir baad mein farma diya ki ab is ki zaroorat nahi hai aur shikari kutte aur bakriyon ke rewar ki hifazat ke liye kutte rakhne ki ijazat de di aur farmaya ki jab kisi bartan mein kutta munh daal de to use saat martaba dhoya kar o aur aathwein martaba mitti se bhi manjha kar o
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade combing the hair except occasionally.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے کنگھی کرنے سے منع فرمایا ہے، الاّ یہ کہ کبھی کبھار ہو۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kanghi karne se mana farmaya hai, illa yeh ki kabhi kabhar ho.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade throwing stones and said that it does not subdue the enemy nor does it catch any prey.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے کسی کو کنکر ی مارنے سے منع کیا ہے اور فرمایا کہ اس سے دشمن زیر نہیں ہوتا اور نہ ہی کوئی شکار پکڑا جاسکتا ہے۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kisi ko kankar marne se mana kiya hai aur farmaya ki is se dushman zeyr nahi hota aur na hi koi shikaar pakda ja sakta hai.
Fazil bin Zaid Raqashi says that once we were sitting with Abdullah bin Mughaffal, may Allah be pleased with him, when the subject of wine came up. Abdullah bin Mughaffal said that wine is forbidden. I asked: “Has it been forbidden in the Book of Allah?" He said, "What is your purpose? Do you want me to tell you what I heard from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in this regard? I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbidding pumpkin, Hantam, and Muzaffat. I asked about the meaning of Hantam. He said, 'Every green or white intoxicant.' I asked about Muzaffat. He replied, 'Utensils made of gourd, etc.'"

فضیل بن زید رقاشی کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ شراب کا تذکر ہ شروع ہو گیا اور سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل کہنے لگے کہ شراب حرام ہے، میں نے پوچھا: کیا کتاب اللہ میں اسے حرام قرار دیا گیا ہے؟ انہوں فرمایا: تمہارا مقصد کیا ہے؟ کیا تم یہ چاہتے ہو کہ میں نے اس سلسلے میں نبی ﷺ سے جو سنا ہے وہ تمہیں بھی سناؤں؟ میں نبی ﷺ کو کدو، حنتم اور مزفت سے منع کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے، میں نے حنتم کا مطلب پوچھا: تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہر سبز اور سفید مٹکا، میں مزفت کا مطلب پوچھا: تو فرمایا کہ لک وغیرہ سے بنا ہوا برتن۔
Fazil bin Zaid Raqashi kahte hain ki aik martaba hum log Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke paas baithe hue the ki sharaab ka tazkara shuru ho gaya aur Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal kahne lage ki sharaab haraam hai, maine poocha: kya kitaab Allah mein ise haraam qarar diya gaya hai? Unhon ne farmaya: tumhara maqsad kya hai? kya tum ye chahte ho ki maine is silsile mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se jo suna hai wo tumhen bhi sunaun? mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko kaddu, hantam aur mizfat se mana karte hue suna hai, maine hantam ka matlab poocha: to unhon ne farmaya ki har sabz aur safaid mitka, mein mizfat ka matlab poocha: to farmaya ki laq waghaira se bana hua bartan.
Abdullah bin Mughaffal once heard his son praying, “O Allah! I ask you for Paradise, Al-Firdous and such and such things.” So he said, “Son! Ask Allah only for Paradise and seek refuge from Hell, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that some people from this Ummah will go to extremes in supplication and ablution.”

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل نے ایک مرتبہ اپنے بیٹے کو یہ دعاء کرتے ہوئے سنا کہ اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے جنت الفردوس اور فلاں فلاں چیز کا سوال کرتا ہوں، تو فرمایا: بیٹے! اللہ سے صرف جنت مانگو اور جہنم سے پناہ چاہو، کیونکہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اس امت میں کچھ لوگ ایسے بھی آئیں گے جو دعاء اور وضو میں حد سے آگے بڑھ جائیں گے۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal ne ek martaba apne bete ko yeh dua karte huye suna keh Aye Allah mein tujh se Jannat-ul-Firdous aur falan falan cheez ka sawal karta hun to farmaya bete Allah se sirf jannat mango aur jahannum se panah chaho kyunki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko yeh farmate huye suna hai keh is ummat mein kuch log aise bhi ayenge jo dua aur wuzu mein had se aage badh jayenge.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: The prayer of a person is invalidated if a woman, a dog, or a donkey passes in front of him.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: نمازی کے آگے سے عورت کتا یا گدھا گزر جائے تو نماز ٹوٹ جاتی ہے۔
Sayyidina Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Namazi ke aage se aurat kutta ya gadha guzar jaaye to namaz toot jati hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever accompanies a funeral procession and offers the funeral prayer, he will receive the reward of one Qirat. And whoever waits until the burial is complete, he will receive the reward of two Qirats."

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: جو شخص جنازے کے ساتھ جائے اور نماز جنازہ پڑھے تو اسے ایک قیراط ثواب ملے گا اور جو شخص دفن سے فراغت کا انتظار کر ے اسے دو قیراط ثواب ملے گا۔
Sayyidina Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Jo shakhs janaze ke sath jaye aur namaz janaza padhe to use ek qirat sawab milega aur jo shakhs dafan se faraghat ka intezar kare use do qirat sawab milega.
It was narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani (RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “You can pray in a sheep pen, but not in a camel pen, because they (camels) were created from the Shayatin (devils).” (Their nature has elements of devils in it).

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: بکریوں کے ریوڑ میں نماز پڑھ سکتے ہیں لیکن اونٹوں کے باڑے میں نماز نہیں پڑھ سکتے، کیونکہ ان کی پیدائش شیطان سے ہوئی ہے (ان کی فطرت میں شیطانیت پائی جاتی ہے)۔
Sayyidina Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni RA se marvi hai ki Nabi SAW ne farmaya: Bakriyon ke rewar me namaz parh sakte hain lekin oonton ke baare me namaz nahi parh sakte, kyunki un ki paidaish shaitan se hui hai (un ki fitrat me shaitanniyat paayi jati hai).
Narrated Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that we were sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, at the root of the tree in Hudaybiyyah, which Allah Almighty has mentioned in the Quran. The branches of that tree were touching the blessed waist of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Sayyiduna Ali and Suhayl bin Amr were in front of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to Sayyiduna Ali, for the sake of Allah: Write, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. So Suhayl bin Amr held his hand and started saying that we do not know the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful, you write in this matter what we know. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Write in your name, O Allah. Then, Sayyiduna Ali wrote this sentence by the order of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. This is the agreement which Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has made peace with the people of Makkah. So, Suhayl bin Amr again held his hand and said, if you are the Messenger of Allah, then we have wronged you, write in this matter what we know. So the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Even if I am the Messenger of Allah, then write like this: This is the agreement on which Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib has made peace with the people of Makkah. Meanwhile, thirty armed youths came from somewhere and attacked us. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, prayed against them, so Allah took away their sight and we moved forward and left them. And on this occasion this verse was revealed: Allah is the One who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah, while you had overcome them. And Allah is Seeing of what you do.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ہم لوگ نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ حدیبیہ میں اس درخت کی جڑ میں بیٹھے تھے جس کا ذکر اللہ تعالیٰ نے قرآن میں فرمایا ہے، اس درخت کی ٹہنیاں نبی ﷺ کی مبارک کمر سے لگ رہی تھیں سیدنا علی اور سہیل بن عمرو نبی ﷺ کے سامنے تھے، نبی ﷺ نے سیدنا علی کر م اللہ وجہہ سے فرمایا: بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم لکھ، تو سہیل بن عمرو نے ان کا ہاتھ پکڑ لیا اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم رحمان اور رحیم کو نہیں جانتے آپ اس معاملے میں وہی لکھئے جو ہم جانتے ہیں، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: باسمک اللہم لکھ دو، پھر سیدنا علی نے نبی ﷺ کے حکم سے یہ جملہ لکھا، یہ وہ فیصلہ ہے جس محمد رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اہل مکہ سے صلح کی ہے، تو سہیل بن عمرو نے دوبارہ ان کا ہاتھ پکڑ لیا اور کہنے لگا کہ اگر آپ اللہ کے رسول ہیں تو پھر ہم نے آپ پر ظلم کیا، آپ اس معاملے میں وہی لکھئے جو ہم جانتے ہیں، چنانچہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: اگر میں اللہ کا پیغمبر پھر بھی ہوں لیکن تم یوں لکھ دو کہ یہ وہ فیصلہ ہے جس پر محمد بن عبداللہ بن عبدالمطلب نے اہل مکہ سے صلح کی ہے۔ اسی اثناء میں تیس مسلح نوجوان کہیں سے آئے اور ہم پر حملہ کر دیا، نبی ﷺ نے ان کے لئے بددعاء کی تو اللہ نے ان کی بینائی سلب کر لی اور ہم نے آگے بڑھ کر انہیں چھوڑ دیا اور اس موقع پر یہ آیت نازل ہوئی اللہ وہی ہے جس نے بطن مکہ میں ان کے ہاتھ تم سے اور تمہارے ہاتھ ان سے روکے رکھے، حالانکہ تم ان پر غالب آچکے تھے اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال کو خوب دیکھتا ہے۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki hum log Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath Hudaibiya mein us darakht ki jadd mein baithe the jis ka zikar Allah Ta'ala ne Quran mein farmaya hai, is darakht ki tehniyan Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki mubarak kamar se lag rahi thin Sayyidna Ali aur Suhail bin Amr Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke samne the, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sayyidna Ali Karam Allah Wajahu se farmaya: Bismillah hirRahman nirRahim likh, to Suhail bin Amr ne un ka hath pakad liya aur kehne lage ki hum Rahman aur Rahim ko nahin jante aap is mamle mein wahi likhiye jo hum jante hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya:Bismikallahumma likh do, phir Sayyidna Ali ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hukm se yeh jumla likha, yeh woh faisla hai jis Muhammad Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ahle Makkah se sulh ki hai, to Suhail bin Amr ne dobara un ka hath pakad liya aur kehne laga ki agar aap Allah ke Rasul hain to phir humne aap par zulm kiya, aap is mamle mein wahi likhiye jo hum jante hain, chunanche Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Agar mein Allah ka Paighambar phir bhi hun lekin tum yun likh do ki yeh woh faisla hai jis per Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib ne ahle Makkah se sulh ki hai. Isi asna mein tees musallah naujawan kahin se aaye aur hum par hamla kar diya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un ke liye bad dua ki to Allah ne un ki beenai salb kar li aur hum ne aage badh kar unhen chhod diya aur is mauque par yeh ayat nazil hui Allah wohi hai jisne batn Makkah mein un ke hath tumse aur tumhare hath unse rok rakhe, halanki tum un per ghalib aa chuke the aur Allah tumhare amal ko khoob dekhta hai.
Abdullah Ibn Mughaffal once heard his son praying, "O Allah! I ask You for Paradise, Al-Firdaus, and such and such things." So he said, "Son! Ask Allah only for Paradise and seek refuge from Hellfire, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that some people from this Ummah will go to extremes in supplication and ablution."

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل نے ایک مرتبہ اپنے بیٹے کو یہ دعاء کرتے ہوئے سنا کہ اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے جنت الفردوس اور فلاں فلاں چیز کا سوال کرتا ہوں، تو فرمایا: بیٹے! اللہ سے صرف جنت مانگو اور جہنم سے پناہ چاہو، کیونکہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اس امت میں کچھ لوگ ایسے بھی آئیں گے جو دعاء اور وضو میں حد سے آگے بڑھ جائیں گے۔
Syedna Abdullah bin Mughaffal ne ek martaba apne bete ko yeh dua karte huye suna keh aye Allah mein tujh se Jannat-ul-Firdous aur falan falan cheez ka sawal karta hun to farmaya bete Allah se sirf Jannat mango aur Jahannum se panah chaho kyunki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko yeh farmate huye suna hai keh is ummat mein kuch log aise bhi ayenge jo dua aur wuzu mein had se aage badh jayenge.
Narrated Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Verily, Allah is kind and loves kindness. He grants for gentleness what He does not grant for harshness."

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ مہربان ہے مہربانی کو پسند کرتا ہے اور مہربانی ونرمی پر وہ کچھ دے دیتا ہے جو سختی پر نہیں دیتا۔
Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Allah taala meharban hai meharbani ko pasand karta hai aur meharbani o narmi par woh kuch de deta hai jo sakhti par nahin deta.
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Do not taunt my companions after me. Whoever loves them, loves them because of their love for me, and whoever hates them, hates them because of their hatred for me. Whoever harms them, harms me, and whoever harms me, harms Allah. And whoever harms Allah, Allah will soon seize him.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: میرے پیچھے میرے صحابہ کو نشان طعن مت بنانا، جو ان سے محبت کرتا ہے وہ میری محبت کی وجہ سے ان سے محبت کرتا ہے اور جو ان سے نفرت کرتا ہے دراصل وہ مجھ سے نفرت کی وجہ سے ان کے ساتھ نفرت کرتا ہے جو انہیں ایذاء پہنچاتا ہے وہ مجھے ایذاء پہنچاتا ہے اور جو مجھے ایذاء پہنچاتا ہے وہ اللہ کو ایذاء دیتا ہے اور جو اللہ کو ایذاء دیتا ہے اللہ اسے عنقریب ہی پکڑ لیتا ہے۔
Sayyeda Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni RA se marvi hai ke Nabi SAW ne irshad farmaya mere peeche mere sahaba ko nishan e ta'n mat banana jo unse mohabbat karta hai woh meri mohabbat ki wajah se unse mohabbat karta hai aur jo unse nafrat karta hai darasal woh mujhse nafrat ki wajah se unke sath nafrat karta hai jo unhen ezaa pahunchata hai woh mujhe ezaa pahunchata hai aur jo mujhe ezaa pahunchata hai woh Allah ko ezaa deta hai aur jo Allah ko ezaa deta hai Allah use anqareeb hi pakad leta hai
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that I was present when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited [drinking] Nabidh from earthenware pots and I was also present when he permitted it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Avoid intoxicants.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے جب مٹکے کی نبیذ سے منع فرمایا: تھا تب بھی میں وہاں موجود تھا اور جب اجازت دی تھی تب بھی میں وہاں موجود تھا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: تھا کہ نشہ آور چیزوں سے اجتناب کر و۔
Syedna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni RA se marvi hai keh Nabi SAW ne jab matke ki nabidh se mana farmaya tha tab bhi main wahan mojood tha aur jab ijazat di thi tab bhi main wahan mojood tha, Nabi SAW ne farmaya tha keh nasha awar cheezon se ijtinab karo.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Mughaffal al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Verily, Allah is Kind and loves kindness and He grants to kindness what He does not grant to harshness."

Sayyidna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: Allah Ta'ala meharban hai, meharbani ko pasand karta hai aur meharbani o narmi par wo kuch de deta hai jo sakhti par nahi deta.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that during the days of ignorance, there was a woman who was a professional prostitute. One day, a man met her and began to flirt with her. In the meantime, he extended his hand towards her, so she said, "Get back! Allah Almighty has removed Shirk and has brought us the blessing of Islam." The man went back. On the way, he hit a wall and his face was injured. He came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and told him the whole story. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Allah intended good for you, for when Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He punishes him for his sin immediately, and when He intends evil for a servant, He withholds his sin and holds him fully accountable for it on the Day of Resurrection, and he will feel like a donkey."

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ زمانہ جاہلیت میں ایک عورت پیشہ ور بدکارہ تھی، ایک دن اسے ایک آدمی ملا اور اس سے دل لگی کرنے لگا، اسی اثناء میں اس نے اپنے ہاتھ اس کی طرف بڑھائے تو وہ کہنے لگی پیچھے ہٹو، اللہ تعالیٰ نے شرک کو دور کر دیا اور ہمارے پاس اسلام کی نعمت لے آیا، وہ آدمی واپس چلا گیا، راستے میں کسی دیوار سے ٹکر ہوئی اور اس کا چہرہ زخمی ہو گیا، وہ نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور سارا واقعہ سنا دیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: اللہ نے تمہارے ساتھ خیر کا ارادہ کر لیا ہے، کیونکہ جب اللہ تعالیٰ کسی بندے کے ساتھ خیر کا ارادہ فرماتے ہیں تو اس کے گناہ کی سزا فوری دے دیتے ہیں اور جب کسی بندے کے ساتھ شر کا ارادہ فرماتے ہیں تو اس کے گناہ کو روک لیتے ہیں اور قیامت کے دن اس کا مکمل حساب چکائیں گے اور وہ گدھوں کی طرح محسوس ہو گا۔
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal Mazni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki zamana jahiliyat mein ek aurat peshawar badkaar thi, ek din use ek aadmi mila aur us se dil lagi karne laga, isi asna mein us ne apne hath us ki taraf barhaye to woh kehni lagi peche hato, Allah Ta'ala ne shirk ko door kar diya aur humare pass Islam ki naimat le aaya, woh aadmi wapis chala gaya, rastay mein kisi deewar se takkar hui aur us ka chehra zakhmi ho gaya, woh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur sara waqea suna diya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Allah ne tumhare sath khair ka irada kar liya hai, kyunki jab Allah Ta'ala kisi bande ke sath khair ka irada farmate hain to us ke gunah ki saza fori de dete hain aur jab kisi bande ke sath shar ka irada farmate hain to us ke gunah ko rok lete hain aur qayamat ke din us ka mukammal hisab chukayenge aur woh gadhon ki tarah mehsoos ho ga.
Fazil bin Zaid Raqashi says that once we were sitting with Abdullah bin Mughaffal, may Allah be pleased with him, when the topic of alcohol came up and Abdullah bin Mughaffal said that alcohol is forbidden. I asked: Has it been forbidden in the Book of Allah? He said: What is your purpose? Do you want me to tell you what I heard from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in this regard? I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbidding from gourd, Hantam and Muzaffat. I asked the meaning of Hantam: So he said every green and white gourd. I asked the meaning of Muzaffat: So he said every utensil made of wood etc. So I went to the market and bought a large leather bucket and it remained hanging in my house.

فضیل بن زید رقاشی کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ شراب کا تذکر ہ شروع ہو گیا اور سیدنا عبداللہ بن مغفل کہنے لگے کہ شراب حرام ہے، میں نے پوچھا: کیا کتاب اللہ میں اسے حرام قرار دیا گیا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: تمہارا مقصد کیا ہے؟ کیا تم یہ چاہتے ہو کہ میں نے اس سلسلے میں نبی ﷺ سے جو سنا ہے وہ تمہیں بھی سناؤں؟ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو کدو، حنتم اور مزفت سے منع کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے، میں نے حنتم کا مطلب پوچھا: تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہر سبز اور سفید مٹکا، میں نے مزفت کا مطلب پوچھا: تو فرمایا کہ لک وغیرہ سے بنا ہوا ہر برتن چنانچہ میں بازار گیا اور چمڑے کا بڑا ڈول خرید لیا اور وہی میرے گھر میں لٹکا رہا۔
Fazil bin Zaid Raqashi kahte hain ke ek martaba hum log Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke pass baithe hue the ke sharaab ka tazkira shuru ho gaya aur Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal kahne lage ke sharaab haraam hai, maine puchha: kya kitab Allah mein ise haraam qarar diya gaya hai? Unhon ne farmaya: tumhara maqsad kya hai? kya tum ye chahte ho ke maine is silsile mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se jo suna hai wo tumhein bhi sunaun? maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko kaddu, hantam aur mazfat se mana karte hue suna hai, maine hantam ka matlab puchha: to unhon ne farmaya ke har sabz aur safed mitka, maine mazfat ka matlab puchha: to farmaya ke laqq waghaira se bana hua har bartan chunanche main bazaar gaya aur chamre ka bada dol kharid liya aur wohi mere ghar mein latka raha.
