Awza'i reported that Qatadah ibn Di'amah wrote to me that Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) told me that he had prayed behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them). All of them would begin the prayer with {All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds}. They would not recite {In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful} at the beginning or end of the recitation.

(٢٤١٤) اوزاعی کہتے ہیں کہ قتادہ بن دعامہ نے میری طرف خط لکھا کہ مجھے انس بن مالک (رض) نے فرمایا کہ انھوں نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ، ابوبکر، عمر اور عثمان (رض) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی۔ سب حضرات { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } سے نماز شروع کرتے تھے۔ قرات کے شروع اور آخر میں { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } نہیں پڑھتے تھے۔
2414 Ozayi kehte hain ke Qatada bin Duama ne meri taraf khat likha ke mujhe Anas bin Malik (RA) ne farmaya ke unhon ne Nabi (SAW), Abu Bakr, Umar aur Usman (RA) ke peechhe namaz parha. Sab hazrat {Alhamdulillah hir rabbil alameen} se namaz shuru karte the. Qirat ke shuru aur akhir mein {Bismillah hir rahman nir rahim} nahin parhte the.
(2415) (a) It is narrated from Qatadah that I heard Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman, but I did not hear any of them recite { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } aloud.
(b) In another narration, it is reported from Shu'bah from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I did not hear any of them recite { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ }.
(c) In one narration, it is stated that they did not recite { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } aloud. In a third narration, the words are فَلَمْ یَکُونُوا یَجْہَرُونَ (they did not recite aloud). In another narration, it is stated that they would begin their recitation with { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ }.

(٢٤١٥) (ا) قتادہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ، ابوبکر، عمر اور عثمان ] کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی ہے، لیکن میں نے ان میں سے کسی سے بھی نہیں سنا کہ اس نے اونچی آواز میں { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھی ہو۔
(ب) ایک دوسری سند سے شعبہ کی روایت ہے کہ انس بن مالک (رض) نے فرمایا : میں نے ان میں سے کسی کو بھی { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھتے نہیں سنا۔
(ج) ایک روایت میں ہے کہ انھوں نے اونچی آواز سے { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } نہیں پڑھی۔
ایک تیسری روایت میں فَلَمْ یَکُونُوا یَجْہَرُونَ کے الفاظ ہیں، ایک اور روایت میں ہے کہ وہ قراءت { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } سے شروع کرتے تھے۔
(2415) (a) Qatada se riwayat hai ki maine Sayyidna Anas bin Malik (RA) ko farmate huye suna ki maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)), Abu Bakr, Umar aur Usman ] ke peeche namaz parhi hai, lekin maine in mein se kisi se bhi nahi suna ki usne unchi aawaz mein {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} parhi ho.
(b) Ek dusri sanad se Sha'bah ki riwayat hai ki Anas bin Malik (RA) ne farmaya: maine in mein se kisi ko bhi {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} parhte nahi suna.
(j) Ek riwayat mein hai ki unhon ne unchi aawaz se {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} nahi parhi. Ek teesri riwayat mein falam yakuno yajharun ke alfaz hain, ek aur riwayat mein hai ki woh qiraat {Alhamdulillah hi Rabbil Alameen} se shuru karte the.
(2416) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to begin (the prayer) with the recitation of "Alhamdu lillahi rabbil Alamin" (All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds).
(b) Similarly, Abu Jouza narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to begin the prayer with Takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) and begin recitation with { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } (Alhamdu lillahi rabbil Alamin - All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds).

(٢٤١٦) (ا) حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ، ابوبکر و عمر (رض) قرات الحمد للہ رب العالمین سے شروع کرتے تھے۔
(ب) اسی طرح ابوجوزا سیدہ عائشہ (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز تکبیر کے ساتھ شروع فرماتے اور قراءت { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } کے ساتھ شروع فرماتے۔

b Isi tarah Abu Josa Sayyidah Ayesha RA se riwayat karte hain ki aap SAW namaz takbeer ke sath shuru farmate aur qirat Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen ke sath shuru farmate
(2417) (a) It is narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to start [the prayer] with the recitation of { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } (All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds), as did Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them all).
(b) Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy upon him) says that they used to start the recitation with Surah Fatiha, then they would recite after it. And Allah knows best, but their intention was not to omit { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } (In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful).

(٢٤١٧) (ا) سیدنا انس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ابوبکر، عمر اور عثمان (رض) قراءت { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } سے شروع کیا کرتے تھے۔
(ب) امام شافعی (رح) فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ حضرات قراءت سورة فاتحہ کے ساتھ شروع کرتے تھے، پھر اس کے بعد قراءت کرتے تھے ۔ واللہ اعلم، لیکن ان کی یہ مراد نہیں کہ وہ { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } چھوڑ دیتے تھے۔
(2417) (a) سیدنا انس (رض) se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Abu Bakar, Umar aur Usman (رض) qirat {Alhamdulillah hir Rabbi l Aalameen} se shuru kiya karte thay.
(b) Imam Shafi (رح) farmate hain keh woh hazrat qirat Surah Fatiha ke sath shuru karte thay, phir uske baad qirat karte thay. Wallahu Alim, lekin unki yeh murad nahin keh woh {Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem} chhor dete thay.
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I prayed behind Abu Bakr, Umar bin Khattab and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them). None of them would recite {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ } when they started the prayer.

(٢٤١٨) سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے ابوبکر، عمر بن خطاب اور عثمان (رض) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی۔ وہ سب حضرات جب نماز شروع کرتے تو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } نہیں پڑھتے تھے۔
(2418) Sayyidina Anas bin Malik (RA) se riwayat hai ki mainne Abu Bakr, Umar bin Khattab aur Usman (RA) ke peechhe namaz parhi. Wo sab hazrat jab namaz shuru karte to {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} nahin parhte the.
(2419) (a) Narrated Anas bin Malik (RA): I used to offer prayer behind Sayyidina Abu Bakr, Umar Farooq and Uthman Ghani (RA). They would start their recitation with {Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alamin} (All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds).
(b) Similarly, a group narrated from Hamid, although some of them mentioned the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) as well, and they mentioned him with the opening words of {Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alamin}.

(٢٤١٩) (ا) حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ میں سیدنا ابوبکر، عمر فاروق اور عثمان غنی (رض) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھا کرتا تھا۔ وہ اپنی قراءت { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } سے شروع فرماتے تھے۔
(ب) اسی طرح ایک جماعت نے حمید سے روایت کیا ہے، البتہ ان میں سے بعض نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا ذکر بھی کیا ہے اور انھوں نے اس کو { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّہِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِینَ } کے ساتھ افتتاح کے لفظ کے ساتھ ذکر کیا ہے۔
2419 a Hazrat Anas bin Malik RA se riwayat hai ki main Syedna Abu Bakar Umar Farooq aur Usman Ghani RA ke peeche namaz parha karta tha wo apni qirat Alhamdulillah HIRabbil Alameen se shuru farmate thay
b Isi tarah ek jamaat ne Hamid se riwayat ki hai albatta in mein se baaz ne Rasul Allah SAW ka zikar bhi kiya hai aur unhon ne is ko Alhamdulillah HIRabbil Alameen ke sath iftitah ke lafz ke sath zikar kiya hai
(2420) Ibn Abdullah bin Mughaffal narrated from his father that he prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), but he did not hear any of them recite {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ}.
Similarly, this has been narrated by Jarir from Abu Nuaim Qais bin Ubayy Hanafi and they have added Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) in the text, except that they said, "I did not hear any one of them recite Bismillah aloud."

(٢٤٢٠) ابن عبداللہ بن مغفل اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ، ابوبکر اور عمر (رض) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی، لیکن میں نے ان میں سے کسی کو بھی { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھتے نہیں سنا۔
اسی طرح اس کو جریری نے ابو نعامہ قیس بن عبایہ حنفی سے روایت کیا ہے اور انھوں نے متن میں عثمان (رض) کا اضافہ بھی کیا ہے مگر یہ کہ انھوں نے کہا کہ میں نے ان میں سے کسی ایک کو بھی نہیں سنا کہ اس نے اونچی آواز میں بسم اللہ پڑھی ہو۔
2420 Ibn Abdullah bin Mughfal apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki maine Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), Abu Bakr aur Umar (RaziAllahu Anhuma) ke peechhe namaz parha, lekin maine inme se kisi ko bhi Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem parhte nahin suna.
Isi tarah isko Jarir ne Abu Na'amah Qais bin Abayah Hanafi se riwayat kiya hai aur unhon ne matan mein Usman (RaziAllahu Anhu) ka izfa bhi kiya hai magar ye ki unhon ne kaha ki maine inme se kisi ek ko bhi nahin suna ki usne oonchi aawaz mein Bismillah parha ho.
(2421) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) did not recite {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ} (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful) loudly.
(b) Hasan bin Hafs narrated this hadith from Sufyan and he said: Instead of لاَ یَقْرَئُونَ (they did not recite) the word used was لاَ یَجْہَرُونَ (they did not raise their voices).

(٢٤٢١) (ا) حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ، ابوبکر اور عمر (رض) { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } اونچی آواز سے نہیں پڑھتے تھے۔
(ب) حسن بن حفص نے اس حدیث کو سفیان سے روایت کیا ہے اور انھوں نے فرمایا : لاَ یَقْرَئُونَ کی جگہ لاَ یَجْہَرُونَ کا لفظ ہے۔
(2421) (a) Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)), Abu Bakr aur Umar (RA) {Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem} oonchi aawaz se nahi parhte thay.
(b) Hasan bin Hafs ne is hadees ko Sufyan se riwayat kiya hai aur unhon ne farmaya: La yaqra'oon ki jagah la yaj'haroon ka lafz hai.
