(18972) Narrated Abdullah bin Amr (RA): We went out for Jihad and felt very hungry, to the extent that one or two dates were distributed among the people in the army. During this time, we were on the seashore. When the sea threw out dead fish, people cut as much of its flesh or fat as they wanted. That fish was like a mound. I came to know that when people came and told the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), you (ﷺ) asked: Do you have some of it with you?

(١٨٩٧٢) حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو (رض) فرماتے ہیں : ہم جہاد کے لیے نکلے تو سخت بھوک محسوس ہوئی یہاں تک کہ لشکر میں ایک یا دو دو کھجوریں تقسیم کی جاتیں۔ اس دوارن ہم سمندر کے کنارے پر تھے۔ جب سمندر نے مردہ مچھلی باہر پھینک دی تو لوگوں نے اس کا گوشت یا چربی جتنا چاہا کاٹ لیا۔ وہ مچھلی ایک ٹیلے کی مانند تھی۔ مجھے پتہ چلا کہ لوگوں نے جب آ کر رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بتایا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : کیا تمہارے پاس اس میں سے کچھ موجود ہے۔

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah in command of three hundred of us in pursuit of a Quraishi caravan. We stayed on the coast until our provisions were exhausted, and we ate the leaves of trees. Then the sea cast up a fish called 'Anbar, and we ate of it for fifteen days until our bodies became healthy. Abu Ubaidah then set up one of its ribs and made the biggest camel in the army along with its tallest rider pass under it. One man slaughtered three camels, then another did likewise on the next day. Thereupon, Abu Ubaidah forbade them. The Companions thought it was Qais bin Sa'd (who slaughtered the camels).

(١٨٩٧٣) جابر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے قریشی قافلے کی تلاش میں ہمارے تین سو آدمیوں کے قافلے کا ابو عبیدہ بن جراح کو امیر بنا کر بھیجا ۔ ہم نے ساحل سمندر پر قیام کیا یہاں تک کہ ہمارا زاد راہ ختم ہوگیا جس کی بنا پر ہم نے درختوں کے پتے کھائے۔ پھر سمندر نے عنبر نامی مچھلی باہر پھینکی تو ہم نے پندرہ روز تک مچھلی کا گوشت کھایا۔ ہمارے جسم تندرست ہوگئے۔ ابو عبیدہ نے اس کی ایک پسلی کو کھڑا کیا اور لشکر میں سے بڑا اونٹ اور لمبے آدمی کو اس پر سوار کر کے اس کے نیچے سے گزار دیا۔ ایک شخص نے تین اونٹ ذبح کیے ، پھر دوسرے دن بھی ۔ اس کے بعد ابو عبیدہ نے منع کر دای۔ صحابہ کا خیال ہے کہ وہ قیس بن سعد تھے۔
(18973) Jabir (RA) farmate hain ke Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Quraishi qafle ki talash mein humare teen sau aadmiyon ke qafle ka Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah ko ameer bana kar bheja. Hum ne sahil samandar par qayam kya yahan tak ke hamara zad-e-rah khatam hogaya jis ki bana par hum ne darakhton ke patte khaye. Phir samandar ne ambar nami machhli bahar phenki to hum ne pandrah roz tak machhli ka gosht khaya. Humare jism tandrust hogaye. Abu Ubaidah ne us ki ek pasli ko khara kya aur lashkar mein se bara unt aur lambe aadmi ko us par sawar kar ke us ke neeche se guzar diya. Ek shakhs ne teen unt zibah kiye, phir dusre din bhi. Us ke baad Abu Ubaidah ne mana kar diya. Sahaba ka khayal hai ke woh Qais bin Saad the.
Ikrama narrates from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I bear witness that Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The fish that floats on water after it dies is permissible for whoever wants to eat it."

(١٨٩٧٤) عکرمہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق (رض) نے فرمایا : ایسی مچھلی جو مرنے کے بعد پانی پر تیر آتی ہے اس کے لیے حلال ہے جو کھانا چاہے۔
(18974) Akrma Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Raz) se naql farmate hain ke mein gawahi deta hun ke Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (Raz) ne farmaya: Aisi machhli jo marne ke bad pani per ter aati hai us ke liye halal hai jo khana chahe.
Anas narrates from Abu Ayyub that they were on a sea voyage with the companions when they found a dead fish floating on the water. They asked Abu Ayyub about it. He said, "Is it pure? Has its smell changed?" They said, "Yes!" So he said, "Eat it and save my share too," because he was fasting.

(١٨٩٧٨) حضرت انس ابو ایوب سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے صحابہ کے ساتھ سمندری سفر کیا تو ایک مچھلی کو مردہ حالت میں پانی پر تیرتے پایا تو انھوں نے ابو ایوب سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا ۔ اس نے کہا : کیا وہ پاکیزہ ہے اس کی بو تبدیل نہیں ہوئی ؟ انھوں نے کہا : جی ہاں ! تو فرمایا : کھاؤ اور میرا حصہ بھی رکھنا کیونکہ وہ روزہ دار تھے۔

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) are of the opinion that there is no harm in eating the fish that the sea throws out.

(١٨٩٨٠) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) اور حضرت زید بن ثابت (رض) کا خیال ہے کہ جس کو سمندر باہر پھینکے اس مچھلی کے کھانے میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔
(18980) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) aur Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit (RA) ka khayal hai ki jis ko samandar bahar phenke us machli ke khane mein koi harj nahin.
Abu Salama reported on the authority of Thawban that the sea threw out a large number of fish, so we asked Abu Huraira (RA) for a verdict concerning them. He permitted us to eat them. We, showing some reluctance to accept the verdict of Abu Huraira (RA), came to Marwan. He made a query from Zaid b. Thabit (RA) who said: They are lawful for you; you can eat them.

(١٨٩٨١) ابو سلمہ ثویب سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ سمندر نے بہت ساری مچھلیاں باہر پھینک دیں تو ہم نے ابوہریرہ (رض) سے ان کے بارے میں فتویٰ پوچھا۔ انھوں نے کھانے کی اجازت دے دی۔ ہم نے ابوہریرہ (رض) کے فتویٰ سے بےرغبتی کرتے ہوئے مروان کے پاس آئے تو انھوں نے زید بن ثابت (رض) سے سوال کیا تو فرمایا : حلال ہیں تم کھا سکتے ہو۔
(18981) Abu Salma sawib se naql farmate hain ke samandar ne bahut sari machhliyan bahar phenk din to hum ne Abu Hurairah (RA) se un ke bare mein fatwa poocha. Unhon ne khane ki ijazat de di. Hum ne Abu Hurairah (RA) ke fatwa se berughbati karte hue Marwan ke pass aaye to unhon ne Zaid bin Sabit (RA) se sawal kiya to farmaya: Halal hain tum kha sakte ho.
Narrated Abu Huraira: I came to Bahrain and the people there asked me about the fish thrown out by the sea, and I permitted them to eat it. Then I asked 'Umar about it, and he said, "What did you tell them?" I replied, "I permitted them to eat it." He said, "If you had said anything else, I would have beaten you with a whip." Then 'Umar recited this verse: 'Lawful unto you is the flesh of that which the sea casts forth.' (5.96)

(١٨٩٨٢) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں : میں بحرین آیا تو وہاں کے لوگوں نے سمندر کی باہر پھینکی ہوئی مچھلی کے بارے میں مجھ سے پوچھا تو میں نے انھیں کھانے کا حکم دیا۔ پھر میں نے حضرت عمر (رض) سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا تو انھوں نے کہا : تو نے ان کو کیا حکم دیا ؟ ابوہریرہ (رض) کہتے ہیں : میں نے ان کو کھانے کا کہا۔ حضرت عمر (رض) کہتے ہیں : اگر تو اس کے علاوہ کچھ اور کہتا تو میں تجھے درے مارتا۔ پھر حضرت عمر نے یہ آیت تلاوت کی :{ اُحِلَّ لَکُمْ صَیْدُ الْبَحْرِ وَ طَعَامُہٗ مَتَاعًا لَّکُمْ } [المائدۃ ٩٦] جو اس سے شکار کیا جائے اور جس کو یہ باہر پھینک دے۔
(18982) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Razi Allah Anhu) farmate hain : mein Bahrain aaya to wahan ke logon ne samandar ki bahar phenki hui machli ke bare mein mujh se pucha to mein ne unhen khane ka hukum diya. phir mein ne Hazrat Umar (Razi Allah Anhu) se is ke bare mein pucha to unhon ne kaha : too ne un ko kya hukum diya? Abu Hurairah (Razi Allah Anhu) kahte hain : mein ne un ko khane ka kaha. Hazrat Umar (Razi Allah Anhu) kahte hain : agar too is ke alawa kuchh aur kahta to mein tujhe dare marta. phir Hazrat Umar ne yeh ayat tilawat ki : { Uhil Lakum Saidu Al-Bahri Wa Ta'amuh Matta'an Lakum } [Al-Ma'idah 96] jo is se shikar kiya jaye aur jis ko yeh bahar phenk de.
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): I went to Bahrain and the people of Iraq who assume Ihram at Dhat Irq (place near Mecca) asked me about the game found in the sea, whether they could buy and eat it. So while I was in the state of Ihram, I allowed them to buy and eat it. When I came to Medina, I had some doubts about my verdict, so I mentioned that to 'Umar (RA). He said, "What did you tell them?" I replied, "I permitted them to buy and eat." He said, "Had you told me anything else, I would have punished you."

(١٨٩٨٣) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ بحرین آیا تو ربذہ نامی جگہ پر عراق کے محرم لوگوں نے پانی پر تیر آنے والے شکار کے بارے میں مجھ سے پوچھا، وہ اس کے خریدنے اور کھانے کے بارے میں سوال کر رہے تھے تو میں نے حالت احرام میں ان کو یہ شکار خرید کر کھانے کی اجازت دے دی۔ پھر میں مدینہ آیا تو اس مسئلہ کے بارے میں میرے دل میں شک تھا جو میں نے ان کو حکم دیا تو میں نے حضرت عمر (رض) کے سامنے تذکرہ کیا۔ انھوں نے پوچھا : آپ نے اس کے بارے میں ان کو کیا حکم دیا ہے ؟ ابوہریرہ کہتے ہیں : میں نے انھیں خرید کر کھانے کی اجازت دی ہے۔ حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : اگر تو اس کے علاوہ کوئی اور بات کہتا تو میں یہ کرتا گویا کہ اس کو دھمکی دے رہے تھے۔
(18983) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain ki Bahrain aaya to Rabza nami jagah par Iraq ke muhrim logon ne pani par tair aane wale shikaar ke bare mein mujhse poocha, woh iske kharidne aur khane ke bare mein sawal kar rahe the to main ne halat ehraam mein unko ye shikaar kharid kar khane ki ijazat de di. Phir main Madinah aaya to is masle ke bare mein mere dil mein shak tha jo main ne unko hukum diya to main ne Hazrat Umar (RA) ke samne tazkira kiya. Unhon ne poocha: Aap ne iske bare mein unko kya hukum diya hai? Abu Hurairah kahte hain: Main ne unhen kharid kar khane ki ijazat di hai. Hazrat Umar (RA) ne farmaya: Agar tum iske ilawa koi aur baat kahta to main ye karta goya ke usko dhamki de rahe the.
Abu Mujaliz reported: Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said about Allah’s saying: “Lawful to you is the pursuit of water-animals and their use for food - for the benefit of yourselves” [Al-Ma’idah 96], “As for the hunt, it is what is hunted, and as for the food, it is what it throws out.”

(١٨٩٨٤) ابو مجلز حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے اللہ کے اس قول : { اُحِلَّ لَکُمْ صَیْدُ الْبَحْرِ وَ طَعَامُہٗ مَتَاعًا لَّکُمْ } [المائدۃ ٩٦] ” سمندر کا شکار تمہارے لیے حلال کردیا گیا اور اس کا کھانا تمہارے لیے فائدہ کی چیز ہے کے بارے میں فرماتے ہیں کہ اس کا شکار تو وہ ہیجس شکار کیا گیا اور کھانے سے مراد جو وہ باہر پھینک دے۔
18984 Abu Majliz Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se Allah ke is qaul: { ohiila lakum saydul bahri wa ta'aamuhu mata'an lakum } [al-Maidah 96] "samandar ka shikar tumhare liye halal kar diya gaya aur is ka khana tumhare liye faida ki cheez hai" ke bare mein farmate hain ke is ka shikar to wo hi jis shikar kiya gaya aur khane se murad jo wo bahar phenk de.
Saeed bin Jubair narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that it (referring to an animal hunted by a trained animal) is considered hunted by him (the owner) if he retrieves it, and it is considered carrion if he abandons it.

(١٨٩٨٥) سعید بن جبیر حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ اس کا شکار جو اس سے حاصل کیا جائے اور اس کا کھانا جو باہر پھینک دے۔
(18985) Saeed bin Jubair Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se naqal farmate hain ke is ka shikar jo is se hasil kya jaye aur is ka khana jo bahar phenk de.
(18986) 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Hurairah asked 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) about the game that was thrown out of the sea, so he said: "It should not be eaten." Nafi' said: "Then 'Abdullah bin 'Umar brought the Quran and recited this verse: {Lawful to you is the game of the sea and its food.} [Al-Ma'idah 96]" Nafi' said: "Then 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me to call 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Hurairah to tell him that there was no harm in eating it."

(١٨٩٨٦) عبدالرحمن بن ابوہریرہ نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے سمندر کے باہر پھینکے ہوئے شکار کے بارے میں سوال کیا تو فرمایا : اسے نہ کھایا جائے۔ نافع کہتے ہیں : پھر عبداللہ بن عمر قرآن لے کر آئے اور یہ آیت تلاوت کی { اُحِلَّ لَکُمْ صَیْدُ الْبَحْرِ وَ طَعَامُہٗ } [المائدۃ ٩٦] نافع کہتے ہیں : پھر عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) نے مجھے عبدالرحمن بن ابوہریرہ کو بلانے بھیجا کہ اس کے کھانے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے۔
18986 abdulrahman bin abu hurairah ne hazrat abdullah bin umar (ra) se samandar ke bahar phenke hue shikar ke bare mein sawal kiya to farmaya : ise na khaya jaye. nafi kehte hain : phir abdullah bin umar quran le kar aaye aur ye ayat tilawat ki { uhilla lakum saydul bahri wa ta'amuhu } [almaidah 96] nafi kehte hain : phir abdullah bin umar (ra) ne mujhe abdulrahman bin abu hurairah ko bulane bheja ke is ke khane mein koi harj nahin hai.
Nafi' reports that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Hurairah asked Abdullah bin 'Umar about (the legality of eating) a thing thrown out by the sea. He (i.e. Ibn 'Umar) forbade him to eat that.

(١٨٩٨٧) نافع فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عبدالرحمن بن ابوہریرہ نے عبداللہ بن عمر سے سمندر کے باہر پھینکی ہوئی چیز کے بارے میں سوال کیا تو انھوں نے یعنی ابن عمر (رض) نے اس کے کھانے سے منع کردیا۔
(18987) Nafe farmate hain ki Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abu Huraira ne Abdullah bin Umar se samandar ke bahar phenki hui cheez ke bare mein sawal kiya to unhon ne yani Ibn Umar (RA) ne iske khane se mana kar diya.
