Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated ‘we fought in the company of the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) with the tribe of Juhaina. They fought with us terribly. When we had finished the noon prayer, the polytheists said, ‘had we attacked them at once, we would have killed them. Jibreel (عليه السالم) informed the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) about it. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) made a mention of it to us, adding that they (the polytheists) had also said, shortly there would be time for the Asr prayer which is dearer o them (the Muslims) than even their children. So, when the time of the Asr prayer came. we formed ourselves into two rows, while the polytheists were between us and the Qibla. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, Allah is Most Great, and we also said so. He bowed and we also bowed. He went down in prostration and the first row prostrated along with him. When they stood up, the second row went down in prostration. Then the first row went into the rear, and the second row came in the front and occupied the place of the first row. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then said, Allah is Most Great, and we also said so. He then bowed, and we also bowed. He then went down in prostration and along with him the row also (went down in prostration), and the second row remained standing. And when the second row had also prostrated and all of them sat down then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) pronounced salutation to them. Abu Zubair said, Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) made a mention specially of this thing, just as your chiefs observe prayer.
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی معیت میں جہینہ قبیلے کے لوگوں سے جنگ لڑی، انھوں نے ہمارے ساتھ بڑی شدید جنگ کی جب ہم نے ظہر کی نماز پڑھی تو مشرکوں نے کہا: کاش ہم ان پر یکبارگی حملہ کرکے انہیں حتم کر دیتے، جبرئیل علیہ السلام نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس بات سے آگاہ کر دیا اوررسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں بتا دیا۔ اور ان لوگوں نے کہا، ابھی ان کی ایک ایسی نماز کا وقت آنے والا ہے جو انہیں اپنی اولاد سے بھی زیادہ محبوب ہے۔ جب عصرکا وقت آیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہماری دو صفیں بنائیں کیونکہ مشرک ہمارے اور قبلہ کے درمیان تھے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے تکبیر تحریمہ کہی اور ہم نے بھی تکبیر کہی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رکوع کیا اور ہم نے بھی رکوع کیا، پھرآپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سجدہ کیا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ پہلی صف والوں نے سجدہ کیا۔ جب یہ حضرات کھڑے ہو گئے تو دوسر ی صف والوں نے سجدے کیے، پھر پہلی صف پیچھے آ گئی اور دوسری آگے بڑھ گئی اور پہلی صف والوں کی جگہ کھڑی ہو گئی۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے (رکوع کے لیے) تکبیر کہی اور ہم نے بھی تکبیرکہی اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رکوع کیا اور ہم نے بھی رکوع کیا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سجدہ کیا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ پہلی صف نے سجدہ کیا اور دوسری کھڑی رہی۔ پھر جب دوسری صف نے سجدے کرلیے اور پھر سب بیٹھ گئے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سب کے ساتھ سلام پھیرا۔ابوزبیرکہتے ہیں،پھر جابر نے خصوصی طور پر فرمایا، جس طرح تمہارے یہ گورنر نماز پڑھاتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) bayan karte hain ke hum ne Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki ma'iyat mein Juhainah qabeela ke logon se jang lari, unhon ne hamare sath bari shadeed jang ki jab hum ne zohar ki namaz parhi to mushrikon ne kaha: Kash hum in par yak-baargi hamla kar ke unhein khatam kar dete, Jibra'eel (Alaihis Salam) ne Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko is baat se aagah kar diya aur Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne humein bata diya. Aur un logon ne kaha, abhi un ki ek aisi namaz ka waqt aane wala hai jo unhein apni aulad se bhi zyada mehboob hai. Jab asr ka waqt aaya, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne hamari do saffein banayein kyunke mushrik hamare aur qibla ke darmiyan thay. Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne takbeer-e-tahreema kahi aur hum ne bhi takbeer kahi, Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne ruku kiya aur hum ne bhi ruku kiya, phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne sajda kiya aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sath pehli saff walon ne sajda kiya. Jab ye hazrat kharay ho gaye to dusri saff walon ne sajde kiye, phir pehli saff peeche aa gayi aur dusri aage barh gayi aur pehli saff walon ki jagah khari ho gayi. Phir Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne (ruku ke liye) takbeer kahi aur hum ne bhi takbeer kahi aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne ruku kiya aur hum ne bhi ruku kiya. Phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne sajda kiya aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke sath pehli saff ne sajda kiya aur dusri khari rahi. Phir jab dusri saff ne sajde kar liye aur phir sab baith gaye aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne sab ke sath salam phera. Abu Zubair kehte hain, phir Jabir ne khusoosi taur par farmaya, jis tarah tumhare ye governor namaz parhatay hain.
