Hazrat Abdullah bin Yazid narrates on the authority of his father from Umm Ayub that she said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to our house, so we cooked some vegetables for him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) disliked it and said, 'I am not like you. I fear to torture my companion.'"
حضرت عبید اللہ بن یزید، اپنے والد کے واسطہ سے ام ایوب سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے فرمایا : جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہمارے ہاں تشریف لائے پس ہم نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے بعض ترکاری میں سے کھانا بنایا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو ناپسند کیا اور فرمایا : ” میں تم جیسا نہیں ہوں، میں اپنے ساتھی کو اذیت دینے سے خوف کھاتا ہوں۔ “
Hazrat Ubaid Ullah bin Yazid apne wald ke wasta se Umm Ayub se riwayat karte hain ke unhon ne farmaya: Janaab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) hamare han tashreef laaye pas hum ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke liye baaz tarkari mein se khana banaya to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne us ko napasand kiya aur farmaya: "Main tum jaisa nahin hun, main apne saathi ko aziyat dene se khof khata hun."
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever eats this vegetable (meaning garlic) should not come near the mosque until its smell has disappeared."
حضرت ابن عمر سے روایت ہے کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد ر فرمایا : ” جو شخص اس ترکاری (یعنی تھوم) میں سے کھائے تو وہ اس وقت تک مسجد کے قریب نہ آئے جب تک اس کی بُو ختم نہ ہوجائے۔ “
Hazrat Ibn Umar se riwayat hai keh Janab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaaya: "Jo shakhs is tarkari (yani lahsun) mein se khaaye to woh us waqt tak masjid ke qareeb na aaye jab tak us ki boo khatam na ho jaaye."
It is narrated from the cook of Hadrat Hudhayfah. He says that Hadrat Hudhayfah used to order me not to put leeks (a vegetable with a particularly pungent smell) in his food.
حضرت حذیفہ کے باورچی سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت حذیفہ مجھے حکم کرتے تھے کہ میں ا ن کے کھانے میں کُراث (خاص تیز بُو والی سبزی) نہ ڈالا کروں۔
Hazrat Huzaifa ke bawarchi se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke Hazrat Huzaifa mujhe hukm karte the ke main un ke khane mein kuraas (khaas tez bu wali sabzi) na dala karoon.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abi Burdah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smelled the smell of garlic from Hazrat Mughirah, so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Did I not forbid you from this tree?" So he said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! I swear by Allah that you will surely put your hand (in the cloak or shirt). And he (at that time) had a cloak or shirt on... So you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) put your hand in, and there was a bandage on him. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You have an excuse."
حضرت ابی بردہ سے روایت ہے کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حضرت مغیرہ سے تھوم کی بُو محسوس کی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” کیا میں نے تمہیں اس درخت سے منع نہیں کیا تھا ؟ “ تو انھوں نے عرض کیا : یا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ! آپ کو قسم ہے کہ آپ اپنے ہاتھ کو (جُبہ یا قمیص میں) ضرور داخل کریں گے۔ اور ان پر (اس وقت) جُبہ یا قمیص تھی ۔۔۔ چنانچہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنا ہاتھ داخل کیا تو ان پر پٹی تھی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” تمہارے لیئے عذر ہے۔ “
Hazrat Abi Burda se riwayat hai keh janab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne Hazrat Mugheera se thom ki bu mehsoos ki to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "kia maine tumhein is darakht se mana nahi kya tha?" to unhon ne arz kiya: Ya Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Aap ko qasam hai keh aap apne hath ko (jubba ya qamees mein) zaroor dakhil karenge. Aur un per (us waqt) jubba ya qamees thi... chunancha aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne apna hath dakhil kya to un per patti thi. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "tumhare liye uzr hai."
Hazrat Abu Al-Rabaab narrated that Hazrat Ma'qal bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard him (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying this, that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a journey, so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever eats from this tree, let him not come near our place of prayer."
حضرت ابو الرباب، حضرت معقل بن یسار کے بارے میں روایت کرتے ہیں، کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے انھیں یہ کہتے سُنا۔ کہ ہم جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہمراہ ایک سفر میں تھے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” جو شخص اس درخت میں سے کھائے تو وہ ہماری نماز گاہ کے قریب نہ آئے۔ “
Hazrat Abu Al Rabaab, Hazrat Maqal bin Yasaar ke baare mein riwayat karte hain, kehte hain ke maine unhen ye kehte suna. Ke hum Janaab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke hamrah ek safar mein the to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya : " Jo shakhs is darakht mein se khaaye to woh hamari namaz gah ke qareeb na aaye. "
Hazrat Mu'tamir narrates from his father that he said that Hazrat Hasan saw coriander with his mother and said, "O my dear mother! Throw away this dirty tree."
حضرت معتمر، اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے فرمایا کہ حضرت حسن نے اپنی والدہ کے پاس کراث کو دیکھا تو کہا۔ اے اماں جان ! اس گندے درخت کو پھینک دیں۔
Hazrat Muatamir apne walid se riwayat karte hain ke unhon ne farmaya ke Hazrat Hassan ne apni walida ke paas karath ko dekha to kaha ae ammaan jaan is gande darakht ko phenk dein
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever eats from this vegetable should not come near our mosque" or he said: "He should not come near the mosque."
حضرت جابر سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” جو شخص اس ترکاری میں سے کھائے تو وہ ہماری مسجد کے قریب نہ آئے “ یا فرمایا : ” وہ مسجد کے قریب نہ آئے۔ “
Hazrat Jaber se riwayat hai. Woh kehte hain ke janab rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: “Jo shakhs is tarkari mein se khaaye to woh hamari masjid ke qareeb na aaye” ya farmaya: “Woh masjid ke qareeb na aaye.”
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Mughirah bin Shuba, he says that I ate garlic and then I went to the place of prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I found you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) having already prayed one rak'ah before me. So when you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished praying, I stood up and started praying my remaining rak'ah. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smelled the smell and said, "Whoever eats from this vegetable should never come near our mosque until its smell is gone." Hazrat Mughira said: So when I finished the prayer, I went to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and I said, 'O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I have an excuse. Give me your hand.' Hazrat Mughira said, 'By Allah, I found you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) very soft, so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave me your hand and I took your (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) hand towards my chest. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) felt the bandage tied there, so you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Surely this is an excuse for you.'
حضرت مغیر ہ بن شعبہ سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے تھوم کھایا پھر میں جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی جائے نماز کے پاس حاضر ہوا۔ میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اس حالت میں پایا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مجھ سے پہلے ایک رکعت پڑھ چکے تھے۔ چنانچہ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھ لی تو میں کھڑا ہوا اور اپنی رہ جانے والی رکعت پڑھنے لگا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے بُو محسوس کی تو فرمایا : ” جو شخص اس ترکاری میں سے کھائے تو وہ ہرگز ہماری مسجد کے قریب نہ آئے ۔ جب تک اس کہ اس کی بُو نہ چلی جائے۔ “ حضرت مغیرہ کہتے ہیں : پس جب میں نے نماز پوری کرلی تو میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور میں نے عرض کیا۔ یا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مجھے کوئی عُذر ہے۔ آپ مجھے اپنا ہاتھ عنایت فرمائیں۔ حضرت مغیرہ کہتے ہیں۔ بخدا میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بہت نرم پایا چنانچہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھے اپنا ہاتھ تھما دیا اور میں آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہاتھ کو اپنے سینہ کی طرف لے گیا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے وہاں پٹی باندھی ہوئی محسوس کی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” یقیناً تمہارے لیئے یہ عذر ہے۔ “
Hazrat Mugheerah bin Shubah se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke maine thom khaya phir mein janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki jaye namaz ke pass hazir hua. Maine aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko us halat mein paya ke aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) mujhse pehle ek rakat parh chuke thay. Chunancha jab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne namaz parh li to mein khara hua aur apni reh jane wali rakat parhne laga. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne bu mehsoos ki to farmaya: "Jo shaks is tarkari mein se khaye to woh hargiz hamari masjid ke qareeb na aaye. Jab tak iske bu na chali jaye." Hazrat Mugheerah kehte hain: Pas jab maine namaz puri karli to mein aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur maine arz kiya. Ya Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) mujhe koi uzr hai. Aap mujhe apna hath inayat farmaein. Hazrat Mugheerah kehte hain: Bakhuda maine aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko bohat narm paya chunancha aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne mujhe apna hath thama diya aur mein aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke hath ko apne seena ki taraf le gaya. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne wahan patti bandhi hui mehsoos ki to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Yaqeenan tumhare liye yeh uzr hai."
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Sharik bin Hanbal, he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever eats this foul vegetable (meaning garlic), then he should not come near our place of prayer."
حضرت شریک بن حنبل سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” جو شخص اس گندی ترکاری کو کھائے (یعنی تھوم کو کھائے) تو پھر وہ ہماری جائے نماز کے قریب نہ آئے۔ “
Hazrat Sharik bin Hanbal se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Jo shakhs is gandi tarkari ko khaye (yani thom ko khaye) to phir woh hamari jaye namaz ke qareeb na aaye."
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ma'dan bin Abi Talha that Hazrat Umar bin Khattab said: You people eat two trees that I consider filthy. These are garlic and onions. I used to see in the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that the person from whom its smell would come, he would be caught by the hand and taken out to the side of Baqi'. Still, whoever among you eats it inevitably, then he should kill its (smell) by cooking it.
حضرت معدان بن ابی طلحہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب نے ارشاد فرمایا۔ تم لوگ دو درخت ایسے کھاتے ہو جن کو میں گندا سمجھتا ہوں۔ یہ تھوم اور پیاز ہے۔ میں تو جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے عہد مبارک میں اس آدمی کو دیکھتا کہ جس سے اس کی بُو آتی ہوتی تھی کہ اس کو ہاتھ سے پکڑا جاتا اور اس کو بقیع کی طرف باہر نکال دیا جاتا۔ پھر بھی تم میں سے جو اس کو ناگزیر طور پر کھائے تو اس کو چاہیے کہ وہ ان (کی بو) کو پکا کر مار ڈالے۔
Hazrat Maadan bin Abi Talha se riwayat hai keh Hazrat Umar bin Khattab ne irshad farmaya. Tum log do darakht aise khate ho jin ko mein ganda samajhta hun. Yeh thom aur piyaz hai. Mein to janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke ahd mubarak mein us aadmi ko dekhta tha keh jisse us ki bu aati hoti thi keh us ko hath se pakra jata aur us ko Baqi ki taraf bahar nikal diya jata. Phir bhi tum mein se jo is ko naguzeer tor par khaye to us ko chahiye keh wo in (ki bu) ko paka kar maar dale.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Ruhm Samai that Abu Ayyub reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying, “It (the food) contains onion, but you may eat it. I dislike eating it because of the angel, but you may eat it.”
حضرت ابو رہم سماعی سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ابو ایوب نے انھیں جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے حوالہ سے بیان کیا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” اس میں (کھانے میں) پیاز ہے لیکن تم اس کو کھالو ۔ اور میں اس کے کھانے کو اس (فرشتہ) کی وجہ سے ناپسند کرتا ہوں۔ البتہ تم کھا سکتے ہو۔ “
Hazrat Abu Raham Samai se riwayat hai ki Hazrat Abu Ayub ne unhen janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke hawale se bayan kiya ki aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Is mein (khane mein) piyaz hai lekin tum is ko khao. Aur mein is ke khane ko is (farishta) ki wajah se napasand karta hun. Albatta tum kha sakte ho."
It is narrated from Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, "It does not please me to eat it (i.e., garlic), nor does it please me to receive its weight in gold."
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ مجھے یہ بات خوش نہیں کرتی کہ میں اس کو (یعنی تھوم کو) کھاؤں اور نہ یہ بات کہ مجھے اس کے ہموزن سونا ملے۔
Hazrat Hassan se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke mujhe yeh baat khush nahi karti ke mein is ko (yani thom ko) khao aur na yeh baat ke mujhe is ke hamwazan sona milay.
