Chapter on Commencing Recitation in Prayer with 'Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim' and Pronouncing It Aloud When Reciting Al-Fatihah
باب افتتاح القراءة في الصلاة ببسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، والجهر بها إذا جهر بالفاتحة

(2392) (a) Qatadah reported that someone asked Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) how was the recitation of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? He said that he used to recite in a prolonged manner. Then he recited {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} prolonging {الرَّحْمَنِ} and {الرَّحِيمِ}.
(b) Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it in his Sahih from Amr bin Asm, who narrated it from Hammam, except that it says that he (peace be upon him) prolonged {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ } then {الرَّحْمَنِ} and {الرَّحِيمِ}. [Al-Fath: 1].

(٢٣٩٢) (ا) قتادہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) سے کسی نے پوچھا کہ رسول اللہ کی قرات کیسی ہوتی تھی ؟ انھوں نے بتایا کہ وہ لمبا لمبا کر کے پڑھتے تھے۔ پھر انھوں نے { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کی تلاوت کی۔ { الرَّحْمَنِ } کو بھی لمبا کیا اور { الرَّحِیمِ }۔ کو بھی لمبا کیا۔
(ب) امام بخاری (رح) نے اس کو اپنی صحیح میں عمرو بن عاصم سے روایت کیا ہے اور وہ ہمام سے روایت کرتے ہیں مگر اس میں یہ ہے کہ { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ } کو لمبا کیا، پھر { الرَّحْمَنِ } کو بھی لمبا کیا اور { الرَّحِیمِ } کو بھی لمبا کیا۔ [الفاتحہ : ١]
(2392) (a) Qatada farmate hain ki Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) se kisi ne poocha ki Rasool Allah ki qirat kaisi hoti thi? Unhon ne bataya ki woh lamba lamba kar ke parhte thay. Phir unhon ne {Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim} ki tilawat ki. {Ar-Rahman} ko bhi lamba kiya aur {Ar-Rahim} ko bhi lamba kiya.
(b) Imam Bukhari (RH) ne isko apni Sahih mein Amr bin Asim se riwayat kiya hai aur woh Hamam se riwayat karte hain magar is mein yeh hai ki {Bismillah} ko lamba kiya phir {Ar-Rahman} ko bhi lamba kiya aur {Ar-Rahim} ko bhi lamba kiya. [Al-Fatihah : 1].
Qatadah narrated that Anas bin Malik was asked, "How was the recitation of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?" He said, "He used to prolong the recitation," and then he recited: "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim" prolonging "Bismillah," "Ar-Rahman" and "Ar-Rahim."

(٢٣٩٣) قتادہ فرماتے ہیں کہ سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) سے پوچھا گیا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی قراءت کیسی ہوتی تھی ؟ انھوں نے فرمایا کہ آپ لمبا لمبا کر کے پڑھتے تھے، پھر انھوں نے ” بسم اللّٰہ الرحمن الرحیم “ پڑھی بسم اللہ پر مد کی اور الرحمن کو اور الرحیم کو بھی لمبا کیا۔
Qatadah farmate hain ke Sayyidna Anas bin Malik (RA) se poocha gaya ke Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki qirat kaisi hoti thi? Unhon ne farmaya ke aap lamba lamba kar ke parhte the, phir unhon ne "Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem" parhi, Bismillah par madd ki aur Rahman ko aur Raheem ko bhi lamba kiya.
(2394) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Na'im al-Mujmir that I was praying behind Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). He recited {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ }, then recited Surah Fatihah. When he reached { وَلاَ الضَّالِّینَ }, he said "Ameen" and the other people also said "Ameen," and whenever he would prostrate, he would say, "Allahu Akbar," and when he would sit up after prostrating, he would also say, "Allahu Akbar." And when he finished the prayer, he said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I am the most resembling of you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in prayer."
(b) In the narration of Ibn Abd al-Hakam, the wording is صَلَّیْتُ وَرَائَ أَبِی ہُرَیْرَۃَ instead of کنت مداء ابی ہریرہ .

(٢٣٩٤) (ا) نعیم مجمر سے روایت ہے کہ میں ابوہریرہ (رض) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھ رہا تھا۔ آپ (رض) نے { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھی، پھر سورة فاتحہ کی تلاوت کی۔ جب { وَلاَ الضَّالِّینَ } پر پہنچے تو آمین کہی اور دیگر لوگوں نے بھی آمین کہی اور آپ جب بھی سجدہ کرتے تو فرماتے : اللہ اکبر اور جب بیٹھ کر کھڑے ہوتے تب بھی اللہ اکبر کہتے اور جب سلام پھیرا تو فرمانے لگے : اس ذات کی قسم ! جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے، میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ نماز کے اعتبار سے تم سب سے زیادہ مشابہ ہوں۔
(ب) ابن عبدالحکم کی حدیث میں کنت مداء ابی ہریرہ کی جگہ صَلَّیْتُ وَرَائَ أَبِی ہُرَیْرَۃَ کے الفاظ ہیں۔
(2394) (a) Naeem Mujmar se riwayat hai ki main Abu Huraira (RA) ke peeche namaz parh raha tha. Aap (RA) ne {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} parhi, phir Surah Fatiha ki tilawat ki. Jab {Walad-dalli} par pahunche to Aameen kahi aur deegar logon ne bhi Aameen kahi aur aap jab bhi Sajdah karte to farmate: Allahu Akbar aur jab baith kar khare hote tab bhi Allahu Akbar kahte aur jab salaam phera to farmane lage: Iss Zaat ki qasam! Jis ke hath mein meri jaan hai, main Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath namaz ke aitbaar se tum sab se zyada mushaba hun.
(b) Ibn Abd al-Hakam ki hadees mein kuntu mada' Abi Huraira ki jagah Sallaitu wara' Abi Huraira ke alfaz hain.
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (SAW) used to recite {Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim} when he led the people in prayer.

(٢٣٩٥) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب لوگوں کو نماز پڑھاتے تھے تو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھتے تھے۔
2395 saidana abu hurairah (raz) se riwayat hai ki nabi kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) jab logon ko namaz parhate thay to { bismillah hir rahman nir rahim } parhte thay.
(2396) (a) It is narrated in another Hadith that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would lead the prayer, he would begin his recitation with {بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ}.
(b) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “This (Bismillah) is a verse of the Book of Allah. If you want to recite Surah Fatihah, then recite it (Bismillah).”

(٢٣٩٦) (ا) ایک دوسری سند سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نماز پڑھاتے ہوئے قراءت کرتے تو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } سے قراءت شروع فرماتے۔
(ب) ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ یہ (بسم اللہ) کتاب اللہ کی ایک آیت ہے، اگر تم سورة فاتحہ پڑھنا چاہو تو اس (بسم اللہ) کو پڑھا کرو۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim aloud in prayer, but the people have abandoned it.

(٢٣٩٧) سیدنا ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز میں بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم اونچی آواز میں پڑھتے تھے، لیکن لوگوں نے اسے چھوڑ دیا ہے۔
2397 Saidna Abu Hurairah (RA) se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz mein Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem unchi aawaz mein parhte thay, lekin logon ne ise chhor diya hai.
(2398) (a) Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas (R.A.): The Prophet (PBUH) used to start (the recitation) with "Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem" (In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful).
(b) In another narration, Ibn Abbas (R.A.) said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to recite "Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem" aloud in prayer.

(٢٣٩٨) (ا) حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) قرات { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کے ساتھ شروع فرماتے تھے۔
(ب) ایک دوسری حدیث میں ابن عباس (رض) سے منقول ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز میں { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } اونچی آواز میں پڑھتے تھے۔
(2398) (a) Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se riwayat hai keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) qirat {Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim} ke sath shuru farmate thay.
(b) Aik dusri hadees mein Ibn Abbas (RA) se manqol hai keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) namaz mein {Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim} unchi aawaz mein parhte thay.
Saeed bin Jubair narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding "As-Sab'ul-Mathani" (the seven oft-repeated verses) that it refers to Surah Fatiha. Ibn Abbas recited it along with "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim" seven times.
Ibn Juraij said: I asked my father, "Did Saeed bin Jubair tell you this from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that 'Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim' is a verse of the Book of Allah?" He replied, "Yes! And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) recited 'Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim' aloud in both rak'ahs (units of prayer)."

(٢٣٩٩) سعید بن جبیر حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے ” السبع المثانی “ کے بارے میں روایت کرتے ہیں کہ اس سے مراد سورة فاتحہ ہے۔ ابن عباس نے اس کو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کے ساتھ ملا کر ٧ سات بار پڑھا ہے۔
ابن جریج کہتے ہیں : میں نے اپنے والد سے عرض کیا کہ کیا آپ کو سعید بن جبیر نے ابن عباس (رض) کے حوالے سے یہ بات بتائی ہے کہ { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کتاب اللہ کی ایک آیت ہے ؟ انھوں نے جواب دیا : ہاں ! اور ابن عباس (رض) نے { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کو دونوں رکعتوں میں اونچی آواز سے پڑھا۔
(2399) Saeed bin Jubair Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se “al-sab'ul mathani” ke bare mein riwayat karte hain ki is se murad Surah Fatiha hai. Ibn Abbas ne isko {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} ke sath mila kar 7 saat baar parha hai. Ibn Juraij kahte hain: maine apne walid se arz kiya ki kya aapko Saeed bin Jubair ne Ibn Abbas (RA) ke hawale se yeh baat batai hai ki {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} Kitab Allah ki aik ayat hai? Unhon ne jawab diya: Haan! Aur Ibn Abbas (RA) ne {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} ko donon rakahon mein oonchi aawaz se parha.
Saeed bin Abdur Rahman bin Abza narrates from his father that I prayed behind Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) and he recited {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } (Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem) aloud.

(٢٤٠٠) سعید بن عبدالرحمن بن ابزی اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رض) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی تو انھوں نے { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } اونچی آواز میں پڑھی۔
Saeed bin Abdurrahman bin Abzi apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki maine Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (RA) ke peeche namaz parhi to unhon ne Bismillah hirRehman nirRahim unchi aawaz mein parhi.
It is narrated from Sha'bi that I saw Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and I also prayed behind him. He (may Allah be pleased with him) would recite {bismillah ir-rahman ir-rahim} aloud.

(٢٤٠١) شعبی سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے علی بن ابی طالب (رض) کو دیکھا اور آپ کی اقتدا میں نماز بھی پڑھی۔ آپ (رض) { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } اونچی آواز میں پڑھتے تھے۔
Shuaibi se riwayat hai ki maine Ali bin Abi Talib (RA) ko dekha aur aap ki iqtida mein namaz bhi parhi. Aap (RA) {Bismillah ir Rahman ir Raheem} unchi aawaz mein parhte the.
Narrated Nafi': Abdullah bin Umar (RAA) used to start reciting Surat-al-Fatiha with (Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim).

(٢٤٠٢) سیدنا نافع حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ وہ سورة فاتحہ کو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کے ساتھ شروع کرتے تھے۔
(2402) sydna nafi hazrat abdullah bin umar (rz) se riwayat karte hain ki woh sura fatiha ko { bismillah hir rahman nir rahim } ke sath shuru karte the.
Narrated Nafi: Ibn Umar (RA) said: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) started the prayer, he would start it with “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim (In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful). In the narration of Zahdam, the word “Yubdiu” has been replaced with the word “Yaqra'” and he has added: When Abdullah bin Umar (RA) would lead the prayer, he would recite “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim” at the beginning of Surah Fatiha, and he would also recite Bismillah at the beginning of the Surah that he would recite after Fatiha.

(٢٤٠٣) سیدنا نافع حضرت ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) جب نماز شروع کرتے تو اس کی ابتدا { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } سے کرتے۔ زاہد کی روایت میں یبدا کی جگہ یقرء کے الفاظ ہیں اور انھوں نے یہ اضافہ کیا ہے کہ عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) جب نماز شروع فرماتے تو سورة فاتحہ کی ابتدا میں { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھتے اور اس سورت کے شروع میں بھی بسم اللہ پڑھتے جو فاتحہ کے بعد پڑھتے۔
(2403) Sayyidina Nafi Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat karte hain ki Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab namaz shuru karte to is ki ibtida {Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem} se karte. Zahid ki riwayat mein yabda ki jagah yaqra ke alfaz hain aur unhon ne ye izafa kiya hai ki Abdullah bin Umar (RA) jab namaz shuru farmate to Surah Fatiha ki ibtida mein {Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem} padhte aur is surat ke shuru mein bhi Bismillah padhte jo Fatiha ke baad padhte.
Saeed bin Jubair narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the recitation should be started with { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful).

(٢٤٠٥) سعید بن جبیر حضرت ابن عباس (رض) سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ قرات کو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کے ساتھ شروع کیا جائے۔
2405 Saeed bin Jubair Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) se riwayat karte hain ke qirat ko {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} ke sath shuru kiya jaye.
Bakr bin Abd narrated that Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) used to start the recitation in prayer with {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful) and would say: The thing that prevents them from reciting it is arrogance.

(٢٤٠٦) بکر بن عبد سے روایت ہے کہ سیدنا ابن زبیر (رض) نماز میں قرات کو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } سے شروع کرتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے : اس کی قرات سے ان کو روکنے والی چیز تکبر ہے۔
2406 Bakr bin Abd se riwayat hai ke Sayyidna Ibn Zubair (RA) namaz mein qirat ko Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim se shuru karte the aur farmate the: Is ki qirat se in ko rokne wali cheez takabbur hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Azraq bin Qais (2407): “I offered prayer behind Ibn Zubair. He recited (the Qur'an) and recited {بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ / In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful} aloud.”

(٢٤٠٧) ازرق بن قیس سے منقول ہے کہ میں نے ابن زبیر کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی۔ انھوں نے قراءت کی تو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کو اونچی آواز میں پڑھا۔
Azraq bin Qais se manqol hai keh maine Ibn Zubair ke peeche namaz parha unhon ne qirat ki to Bismillah hir rahman nir rahim ko unchi aawaz mein parha
Abu Bakr bin Hafs narrated to us from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) led the prayer in Medina and recited loudly, joining "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim" with Surah Fatihah, and he did not recite it with the subsequent Surah until he finished the recitation and did not say the Takbir for bowing and prostration until he had completed the prayer. When he finished the prayer with Taslim, the Muhajireen (emigrants) who were present started saying from everywhere, "O Muawiyah! Have you shortened the prayer or forgotten?" So, when he prayed again, he recited "Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim" with the Surah after Fatihah and said the Takbir while bowing in prostration.

(٢٤٠٨) ابوبکر بن حفص کو سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) نے خبر دی کہ کہ امیر معاویہ (رض) نے مدینہ میں ایک نماز پڑھائی تو انھوں نے بلند آواز سے قرات کی اور { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } سورة فاتحہ کے ساتھ ملا کر پڑھی اور اس کے بعد والی سورة کے ساتھ نہیں پڑھی حتیٰ کہ انھوں نے یہ قرات مکمل کرلی اور رکوع و سجدے کے لیے جھکتے وقت تکبیر نہیں کہی اور نماز مکمل کرلی۔ جب انھوں نے سلام پھیرا تو مہاجرین میں سے جو لوگ موجود تھے، انھوں نے جگہ جگہ سے آپ کو آوازیں دینا شروع کردیں کہ اے معاویہ ! کیا آپ نے نماز کو کم کردیا ہے یا بھول گئے ہیں ؟ پھر جب انھوں نے اس کے بعد (دوبارہ) نماز پڑھائی تو { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } سورة فاتحہ کے بعد والی سورت کے ساتھ بھی پڑھی اور سجدے میں جاتے ہوئے تکبیر بھی کہی۔
2408 Abu Bakr bin Hafs ko Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (RA) ne khabar di ke Amir Muawiya (RA) ne Madinah mein ek namaz parhai to unhon ne buland aawaz se qirat ki aur Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim Surah Fatiha ke saath mila kar parhi aur iske baad wali surah ke saath nahi parhi hatta ke unhon ne yeh qirat mukammal karli aur ruku aur sajday ke liye jhukte waqt takbeer nahi kahi aur namaz mukammal karli. Jab unhon ne salam phira to muhajirin mein se jo log mojood the, unhon ne jagah jagah se aap ko aawazen dena shuru kar din ke aye Muawiya! kya aap ne namaz ko kam kar diya hai ya bhul gaye hain? Phir jab unhon ne iske baad (dobarah) namaz parhai to Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim Surah Fatiha ke baad wali surah ke saath bhi parhi aur sajday mein jate huye takbeer bhi kahi.
This narration is also transmitted from Ibn Juraij. However, in it, it is mentioned that he did not recite { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } with Surah Fatihah, nor did he recite { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } with the Surah after it. Then the complete Hadith is mentioned.
And he added the word "Ansar" alongside the word "Muhajireen" and said that in every prayer they offered after this, they recited { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } with Surah Fatihah and the Surah after it, and also said the Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) while going into bowing (Ruku).
Grade: Da'if
(٢٤٠٩) ابن جریج سے بھی یہ روایت منقول ہے۔ مگر اس میں یہ ہے کہ انھوں نے سورة فاتحہ کے ساتھ { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } نہیں پڑھی اور نہ ہی اس کے بعد والی سورة کے ساتھ { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } پڑھی۔ پھر مکمل حدیث ذکر کی۔
اور انھوں نے مہاجرین کے لفظ کے ساتھ انصار کے لفظ کا بھی اضافہ کیا اور فرمایا کہ انھوں نے اس کے بعد جو بھی نماز پڑھی اس میں سورة فاتحہ اور اس کے بعد والی سورت کے ساتھ { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } بھی پڑھی اور سجدے میں جاتے ہوئے تکبیر بھی کہی۔
(2409) Ibn Juraij se bhi yeh riwayat manqool hai. Magar is mein yeh hai ki unhon ne Surah Fatiha ke sath {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} nahi parhi aur na hi is ke baad wali surah ke sath {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} parhi. Phir mukammal hadees zikar ki. Aur unhon ne Muhajireen ke lafz ke sath Ansar ke lafz ka bhi izafa kiya aur farmaya ki unhon ne is ke baad jo bhi namaz parhi us mein Surah Fatiha aur is ke baad wali surah ke sath {Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim} bhi parhi aur sajday mein jate huye takbeer bhi kahi.
(2410) Ismail bin Ubaid bin Rifaa narrated from his father that when Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Madinah, he led us in prayer, but he did not recite {Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim} nor did he say the takbir (Allahu Akbar) when bowing or standing. When he finished the prayer with the Salam, the Muhajirin and Ansar said to him, "O Muawiyah! You made deficiencies in the prayer. You did not recite Bismillah and the takbirs aloud." So he led them in prayer again and did the things that they had found fault with.

(٢٤١٠) اسماعیل بن عبید بن رفاعہ اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ سیدنا معاویہ (رض) جب مدینہ تشریف لائے تو انھوں نے ہمیں نماز پڑھائی، لیکن { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } نہ پڑھی اور نہ ہی جھکتے وقت اور اٹھتے وقت تکبیر کہی۔ جب انھوں نے سلام پھیرا تو مہاجرین و انصار نے انھیں آواز دی : اے معاویہ ! آپ نے نماز میں کمی کی۔ بسم اللہ اور تکبیریں بلند آواز میں نہیں پڑھیں۔
چنانچہ انھوں نے ان کو دوبارہ نماز پڑھائی اور وہ چیزیں بھی ادا کیں جن پر انھوں نے عیب لگایا تھا۔
2410 Ismail bin Ubaid bin Rifaa apne walid se riwayat karte hain ki Sayyiduna Muawiya (Razi Allahu Anhu) jab Madina tashreef laaye to unhon ne hamen namaz parhayi, lekin Bismillah hir Rehman nir Raheem na parhi aur na hi jhukte waqt aur uthte waqt takbeer kahi. Jab unhon ne salaam phera to Muhajireen o Ansar ne unhen aawaz di: Aye Muawiya! Aap ne namaz mein kami ki. Bismillah aur takbiren buland aawaz mein nahin parhin. Chunanche unhon ne un ko dobara namaz parhayi aur wo cheezen bhi ada kin jin per unhon ne aib lagaya tha.
Ibn Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Reciting { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } (In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful) is from the Sunnah (recommended practice) in the prayers. One should recite Surah Fatihah, then { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } with the second Surah as well."
Ibn Shihab would sometimes recite a Surah after Surah Fatihah and he would begin every Surah with { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } and he said, "The first person who recited { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } in a low voice in Madinah was Amr bin Sa'id bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was a shy person."

(٢٤١٢) ابن شہاب (رح) نے فرمایا : { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کا پڑھنا نماز کی سنتوں میں سے ہے، سورة فاتحہ پڑھے، پھر { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } دوسری سورت کے ساتھ بھی پڑھے۔
ابن شہاب کبھی کبھی سورة فاتحہ کے ساتھ کوئی سورة پڑھتے تو ہر سورت { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } سے شروع کرتے اور فرماتے کہ مدینہ میں سب سے پہلے جس آدمی نے { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } آہستہ آواز سے پڑھی وہ عمرو بن سعید بن عاص (رض) ہیں اور وہ حیادار شخص تھے۔
(2412) Ibn Shahab (rah) ne farmaya : {Bismillah hir rahman nir rahim} ka parhna namaz ki sunnaton mein se hai, Surah Fatiha parhe, phir {Bismillah hir rahman nir rahim} dusri surat ke sath bhi parhe.
Ibn Shahab kabhi kabhi Surah Fatiha ke sath koi surat parhte to har surat {Bismillah hir rahman nir rahim} se shuru karte aur farmate keh Madina mein sab se pehle jis aadmi ne {Bismillah hir rahman nir rahim} aahista aawaz se parhi wo Amr bin Saeed bin Aas (raz) hain aur wo hiyadari shakhs the.
(2413) It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Satan tried to make people sneeze away from the great verse of the Quran { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } but it is impossible.

(٢٤١٣) حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ شیطان نے اہل قرآن سے ایک عظیم آیت { بِسْمِ اللَّہِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِیمِ } کو اچکنے کی کوشش کی ہے لیکن یہ ناممکن ہے۔
2413 Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se riwayat hai ke shaitan ne ahl Quran se aik azeem aayat {Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem} ko chhupane ki koshish ki hai lekin yeh namumkin hai.
