Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 14344
Abu Salama narrates: Someone asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) how much dowry the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had given. She replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had given only 12 uqiyas in dowry to his wives. The inquirer asked: Do you know what a 'nish' is? I replied: No. She said: Half an uqiya.

(١٤٣٤٤) ابو سلمہ فرماتے ہیں : جس نے حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے پوچھا کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے کتنا حق مہر ادا کیا تھا ؟ فرماتی ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنی بیویوں کو صرف ١٢ اوقیہ حق مہر ادا کیا۔ پوچھنے لگی کہ پتہ ہے نش سے کیا مراد ہے ؟ میں نے کہا : نہیں تو فرمایا : نصف اوقیہ۔
Abu Salma farmate hain : Jis ne Hazrat Ayesha (Razi Allah Anha) se puchha ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne kitna haq mehr ada kya tha? farmati hain ke Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apni biwiyon ko sirf 12 awqiya haq mehr ada kya. puchne lagi ke pata hai nish se kya murad hai? maine kaha : nahi to farmaya : nisf awqiya.
(14345) Muhammad bin Umar Makki narrates from Abdul Aziz that Uqiyah has been increased in it, that is, five hundred Dirhams. This was the amount of dowry that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave to his wives.

(١٤٣٤٥) محمد بن عمر مکی عبدالعزیز سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ اوقیہ اس میں اضافہ بھی ہے کہ پانچ سو درہم، یہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا اپنی بیویوں کے لیے حق مہر تھا۔
(14345) Muhammad bin Umar Makki Abd-ul-Aziz se naql farmate hain ki auqiya is mein izafa bhi hai ki panch sau dirham ye Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka apni biwiyon ke liye haq mehr tha.
'Urwa reported on the authority of Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) that the amount of dower of the wives of Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his daughters was twelve and a half uqiyas except in the case of Umm Habiba. She was married by Najashi, and he paid four thousand (as dower) and it was paid in cash, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) consummated marriage with her but he did not give anything (in dower).

(١٤٣٤٦) عروہ حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے بیویوں اور بیٹیوں کے حق مہر صرف ١٢ اوقیہ تھے سوائے ام حبیبہ کے؛ کیونکہ اس کا نکاح نجاشی نے کیا اور چار ہزار حق مہر بھی ادا کیا اور یہ نقد تھا اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دخول بھی کیا لیکن کچھ بھی نہ دیا۔
Urwa Hazrat Ayesha (RA) se naqal farmate hain ke Rasool Allah (SAW) ke biwiyon aur betiyon ke haq mehr sirf 12 auqiya thay siwaye Umme Habiba ke kyunki uska nikah Najashi ne kiya aur chaar hazar haq mehr bhi ada kiya aur yeh naqd tha aur Nabi (SAW) ne dakhool bhi kiya lekin kuchh bhi nah diya.
Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Avoid giving large dowries to women. If it were a sign of piety in the sight of Allah and honor among people, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would have been most deserving of it. However, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married himself and his daughters for a dowry of only 12 ounces, which is equal to 480 dirhams. Some of you burden yourselves with excessive dowries to the point that you become enemies of yourselves, saying, "I was troubled like a wineskin being moved because of you."
(b) Ibn Sireen reported 12 ounces and a half, narrated by Abu Salama from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), in agreement with this.

(١٤٣٤٧) حضرت عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ تم عورتوں کو زیادہ حق مہر دینے سے بچو۔ اگر یہ اللہ کے ہاں تقویٰ اور لوگوں کے نزدیک عزت والی بات ہوتی تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کے زیادہ لائق تھے حالانکہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے اور اپنی بیٹیوں کے نکاح کیے اور حق مہر صرف ١٢ اوقیہ تھا اور یہ ٤٨٠ درہم بنتے ہیں۔ ان میں سے کوئی اپنی بیوی کا حق مہر اتنا زیادہ کردیتا ہے کہ وہ اپنے نفس کا بھی دشمن بن جاتا ہے اور کہتا ہے کہ میں نے تیری وجہ سے لٹکے ہوئے مشکیزے کی طرح تکلیف پہنچایا گیا ہوں۔
(ب) ابن سیرین نے ١٢ اوقیہ اور نصف بیان کیا ہے، جو ابوسلمہ حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں اس کی موافقت میں۔
(14347) Hazrat Umar (RA) farmate hain ke tum auraton ko zyada haq mehr dene se bacho. Agar yeh Allah ke han taqwa aur logon ke nazdeek izzat wali baat hoti to Rasul Allah (SAW) is ke zyada layeq thay halankeh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne apne aur apni betiyon ke nikah kiye aur haq mehr sirf 12 awqiya tha aur yeh 480 dirham bante hain. In mein se koi apni biwi ka haq mehr itna zyada karta hai ke woh apne nafs ka bhi dushman ban jata hai aur kehta hai ke maine teri wajah se latke hue mashkize ki tarah takleef pahunchaya gaya hun.
(b) Ibn Sireen ne 12 awqiya aur nisf bayan kiya hai, jo Abu Salama Hazrat Ayesha (RA) se naql farmate hain is ki muwafqat mein.
Ibn Abi 'Ujfah narrates from his father that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not give women excessive dowries." He narrated similar to the narration of Hammad, that a man gives a large dowry, and then says: "Because of you, I have been put in hardship," like a hanging waterskin that has become limp.

(١٤٣٤٨) ابن ابی عجفاء اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : عورتوں کو حق مہر زیادہ نہ دیا کرو۔ انھوں نے حماد کی حدیث کے موافق ذکر کیا ہے کہ کوئی شخص حق مہر زیادہ دیتا ہے اور پھر وہ کہتا ہے : تیری وجہ سے میں تکلیف میں مبتلا کیا گیا ہوں جیسے لٹکا ہوا مشکیزہ جو ڈول بن گیا ہے۔
(14348) ibne abi ajfa apne walid se naqal farmate hain keh hazrat umar (rz) ne farmaya: aurton ko haq mehr ziada na diya karo. unhon ne humad ki hadees ke muwafiq zikar kya hai keh koi shakhs haq mehr ziada deta hai aur phir wo kehta hai: teri wajah se main takleef mein mubtala kya gaya hun jaise latka hua mashkiza jo dol ban gaya hai.
'Ikrimah: 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) made Fatimah's body lawful for himself in exchange for iron.

(١٤٣٤٩) عکرمہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) نے فاطمہ کے بدن کو اپنے لیے لوہے کے عوض حلال کیا۔
14349 Akrma Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) ne Fatima ke badan ko apne liye lohe ke awaz halal kiya
Ibn Abi Najih narrates from his father that he mentioned a man who heard from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in Kufa. He (Ali) was saying that I intended to give a message to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the marriage to his daughter. But then I remembered that I have nothing with me, but then I remembered and turned back to meet you and I gave the marriage proposal. So you asked, "Where is that Hutami cloth I gave you as a loan the other day?". He said, "It is with me". You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Give this to him."

(١٤٣٥٠) ابن ابی نجیح اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں، انھوں نے ایک شخص کا نام لیا، جس نے حضرت علی (رض) سے کوفہ میں سنا، وہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ میرا ارادہ تھا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو ان کی بیٹی کے نکاح کا پیغام دوں۔ لیکن مجھے یاد آیا کہ میرے پاس تو کچھ بھی نہیں ہے، لیکن پھر مجھے یاد آیا تو میں پلٹ کر آپ سے ملا اور میں نے پیغام نکاح دے دیا۔ تو آپ نے پوچھا : میں نے تجھے حطمیہ ذرع فلاں دن دی تھی وہ کہاں ہے ؟ کہتے ہیں : یہ میرے پاس ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ اس کو دے دو ۔
Ibn Abi Najeh apne walid se naql farmate hain, unhon ne ek shakhs ka naam liya, jis ne Hazrat Ali (RA) se Kufa mein suna, woh keh rahe the ke mera irada tha ke Rasul Allah (SAW) ko un ki beti ke nikah ka paigham dun. Lekin mujhe yaad aaya ke mere pass to kuchh bhi nahin hai, lekin phir mujhe yaad aaya to main palat kar aap se mila aur maine paigham nikah de diya. To aap ne pucha : maine tujhe Hatmi zarah falan din di thi woh kahan hai ? Kehte hain : yeh mere pass hai. Aap (SAW) ne farmaya : yeh is ko de do.
Mujaahid narrates from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the proposal for marriage was sent for Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), a slave girl of mine said to me, "Do you know that a proposal has been sent for Fatimah's marriage?" I replied, "Yes" or "No." She then said, "You should also send a proposal." I said, "What do I have that I can give as dowry and marry her?" But she kept encouraging me until I went to you. I had great respect for you, which is why I couldn't speak in front of you. You asked, "Do you have any work with me?" I remained silent. You repeated this three times. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) then said, "Perhaps you have come to ask for Fatimah's hand in marriage?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family)!" You asked, "What do you have with which you can make her lawful for yourself?" I said, "Nothing, O Messenger of Allah!" You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) asked, "Where is that armor which I gave you as a reward?" Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "The price of that armor was only four hundred dirhams." You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said, "Go, I have married her to you with that, but give them that armor and make her lawful for yourself."
(B) Similarly, in my book, it is four hundred dirhams, and in the narration of Ibn Ishaq, it is four dirhams.

(١٤٣٥١) مجاہد حضرت علی (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بیٹی فاطمہ کو نکاح کا پیغام دیا گیا تو میری ایک لونڈی نے مجھ سے کہا : کیا آپ جانتے ہیں کہ فاطمہ کو پیغام نکاح دیا گیا ؟ میں نے نعم یا لا کہا تو وہ کہنے لگی : آپ بھی پیغام نکاح دیں، کہتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : میرے پاس کیا ہے کہ میں دے کر نکاح کروں ؟ لیکن وہ مجھے ترغیب دیتی رہی یہاں تک کہ میں آپ کے پاس چلا گیا، اور میں آپ کی تعظیم بہت زیادہ کرتا تھا جس کی وجہ سے آپ کے سامنے بیٹھ کر کلام نہ کرسکا، آپ نے پوچھا : کیا تجھے کوئی کام ہے ؟ میں خاموش رہا یہاں تک کہ یہ بات انھوں نے تین مرتبہ کہی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : شاید آپ فاطمہ کو نکاح کا پیغام دینے آئے ہیں ؟ میں نے کہا : ہاں، اے اللہ کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ! آپ نے پوچھا : تیرے پاس کیا چیز ہے جس کے ذریعے تو اس کو اپنے لیے حلال کرسکے ؟ کہتے ہیں : میں نے کہا : کچھ بھی نہیں، اے اللہ کے رسول ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : جو میں نے تجھے اسلحہ کے طور پر زرع دی تھی وہ کدھر ہے ؟ حضرت علی (رض) فرماتے ہیں : اس زرع کی قیمت صرف چار سو درہم ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جاؤ میں نے تیرا نکاح اس سے کردیا ہے لیکن وہ ذرع ان کو دے کر اپنے لیے حلال کرلو۔
(ب) اسی طرح میری کتاب میں ٤٠٠ سو درہم ہے اور ابن اسحاق کی روایت میں ٤ درہم ہے۔
(14351) Mujahid Hazrat Ali (RA) se naql farmate hain keh Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki beti Fatima ko nikah ka paigham diya gaya to meri ek laundi ne mujh se kaha: kya aap jante hain keh Fatima ko paigham nikah diya gaya? Maine "na'am" ya "la" kaha to woh kehne lagi: aap bhi paigham nikah dein. Kehte hain: maine kaha: mere pass kya hai keh main de kar nikah karoon? Lekin woh mujhe targhib deti rahi yahan tak keh main aap ke pass chala gaya, aur main aap ki ta'zeem bahut zyada karta tha jis ki wajah se aap ke samne beth kar kalam na kar saka. Aap ne poocha: kya tujhe koi kaam hai? Main khamosh raha yahan tak keh yeh baat unhon ne teen martaba kahi. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: shayad aap Fatima ko nikah ka paigham dene aaye hain? Maine kaha: haan, aye Allah ke Rasool ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم))! Aap ne poocha: tere pass kya cheez hai jis ke zariye tu us ko apne liye halal kar sake? Kehte hain: maine kaha: kuchh bhi nahin, aye Allah ke Rasool! Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne poocha: jo maine tujhe aslaha ke taur par zira'a di thi woh kidhar hai? Hazrat Ali (RA) farmate hain: us zira'a ki qeemat sirf chaar sau dirham hai. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: jao maine tera nikah us se kar diya hai lekin woh zira'a un ko de kar apne liye halal kar lo.
(b) Isi tarah meri kitab mein 400 sau dirham hai aur Ibn Ishaq ki riwayat mein 4 dirham hai.
Ja'far ibn Muhammad narrates from his father that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) an armor and a clay pot as dowry, while the dowry of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was five hundred dirhams.

(١٤٣٥٢) جعفر بن محمد اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) نے فاطمہ کو حق مہر میں لوہے کی زرع دی اور مٹی کا مٹکا دیا اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی عورتوں کا حق مہر پانچ سو درہم تھا۔
14352 jaffar bin muhammad apne walid se naql farmate hain ki hazrat ali (raz) ne fatimah ko haq mehr mein lohe ki zirah di aur mitti ka matka diya aur nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki auraton ka haq mehr panch sau dirham tha.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that our dowries at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to be ten uqiyah, i.e., 400 dirhams.

(١٤٣٥٣) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ہمارے حق مہر نبی کے دور میں دس اوقیہ یعنی ٤٠٠ درہم ہوا کرتے تھے۔
(14353) Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain ke hamare haq mehr Nabi ke daur mein das auqiya yani 400 dirham hua karte thay.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man or a young man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: I have married a woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Did you look at her? Because the Ansar have something in their eyes. He said: I have looked at her. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: How much dowry did you give her? He mentioned something. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: As if you were digging out gold and silver from these mountains. However, we will give you what we have. But I am sending you to a place where you will gain something. And he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent him with the army to Banu Abs. So he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: My she-camel is tired of carrying me. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) held his hand and made him stand up and kicked her with his foot. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that she went ahead of the rest of the riders.

(١٤٣٥٤) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص یا نوجوان نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا کہ میں نے ایک عورت سے شادی کی ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا تو نے اس کی طرف دیکھا ؟ کیونکہ انصار کی آنکھوں میں کچھ ہوتا ہے۔ اس نے کہا : میں نے دیکھا ہے، فرمایا : تو نے کتنا حق مہر ادا کیا ہے ؟ اس نے کچھ ذکر کیا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : گویا کہ تم سونے، چاندی کو ان پہاڑوں سے کرید لیتے ہو۔ لیکن آج ہمارے پاس جو کچھ ہے آپ کو دیں گے لیکن میں تجھے اس طرف روانہ کرتا ہوں جہاں سے آپ کچھ حاصل کرلیں گے اور آپ نے بنو عبس کی طرف لشکر میں اس کو روانہ کردیا تو وہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آیا اور کہنے لگا : میری اونٹنی تھک گئی ہے کہ مجھے اٹھائے تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کے ہاتھ کا سہارا لے کر اٹھ کھڑے ہوئے اور اس کو پاؤں سے مارا، حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ وہ باقی سواریوں سے آگے بڑھ گئی تھی۔
(14354) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain ki aik shakhs ya naujawan Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas aaya ki maine aik aurat se shadi ki hai. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: kya tune uski taraf dekha? Kyunki Ansar ki aankhon mein kuchh hota hai. Usne kaha: maine dekha hai, farmaya: to tune kitna haq mehr ada kiya hai? Usne kuchh zikr kiya. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: goya ki tum sone, chandi ko in paharon se kured lete ho. Lekin aaj hamare pass jo kuchh hai aap ko denge lekin mein tujhe is taraf rawana karta hun jahan se aap kuchh hasil karlenge aur aap ne Banu Abs ki taraf lashkar mein usko rawana kar diya to woh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas aaya aur kahne laga: meri untni thak gayi hai ki mujhe uthaye to Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne uske hath ka sahaara lekar uth khade hue aur usko paon se mara, Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) farmate hain ki woh baqi sawariyon se aage badh gayi thi.
(14355) Abu Hurairah Salam came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked for help with his wife's dowry. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "How much dowry did you agree upon?" He said: "200 Dirhams." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Even if you were to cut down all the trees in the valley of Bat'han, you wouldn't increase the dowry."

(١٤٣٥٥) ابو حدرد سلمی نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس آکر عورت کے مہر میں مدد مانگ رہے تھے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : کتنا حق مہر مقرر کیا ہے ؟ کہنے لگے : ٢٠٠ درہم آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اگر تم بطحان وادی کے پودوں کو کاٹتے تو حق مہر زیادہ نہ کرتے۔
14355 Abu Harda Salmi Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke pass aakar aurat ke mehr mein madad mang rahe the, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne poocha: kitna haq mehr muqarrar kiya hai? kehne lage: 200 dirham Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: agar tum Batahan wadi ke podon ko katte to haq mehr zyada na karte.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The most blessed of women are those who are easiest in regard to their dowries." (B) In the narration of Yazid bin Harun it says: "The easiest in regard to expenses."

(١٤٣٥٦) حضرت عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : وہ عورتیں برکت کے اعتبار سے بڑی ہیں جن کے حق مہر آسان ہوں۔
(ب) یزید بن ہارون کی روایت میں ہے خرچے کے اعتبار سے آسان۔
(14356) Hazrat Ayesha (rz) farmati hain keh Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya: Woh aurtain barkat ke aitbaar se bari hain jin ke haq mehr aasan hon.
(b) Yazid bin Haroon ki riwayat mein hai kharche ke aitbaar se aasan.
Urwah narrated on the authority of Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said that the auspiciousness of a woman lies in the ease of her marriage contract, the small amount of her dowry, and the ease of her womb for children. Urwah said: meaning that her womb is easy for children. Urwah said: I consider the first bad omen of a woman to be her having a large dowry.

(١٤٣٥٧) عروہ حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فرماتے ہیں کہ عورت کا بابرکت ہونا یہ ہے کہ نکاح آسان، حق مہر تھوڑا اور اولاد کے لیے رحم کا آسان ہونا، عروہ کہتے ہیں : یعنی اس کا رحم اولاد کے لیے آسان ہو۔ عروہ کہتے ہیں : میں تو عورت کی پہلی نحوست یہ خیال کرتا ہوں کہ اس کا حق مہر زیادہ ہو۔
