Chapter: The narrations mentioned for the Fear Prayer

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1529
Tha'labah bin Zahdam narrated, ‘we were with Sa'eed bin Al-'Asi in Tabaristan, and Hudhaifah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) bin Al-Yaman was with us’. He said, ‘which of you offered the fear prayer with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)?’ Hudhaifah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘I did’, and he described it. He said, ‘The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offered the fear prayer, leading one group who had formed rows behind him in praying one rak'a, while the other group was between him and the enemy. So, he led the group that was near him in praying one rak'a, then they left and took the place of others, and the others came and he led them in praying one rak'a’.

ثعلبہ بن زہدم کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سعید بن عاصی کے ساتھ طبرستان میں تھے، ہمارے ساتھ حذیفہ بن یمان رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے، سعید نے پوچھا: تم میں سے کس نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ خوف کی نماز پڑھی ہے؟ تو خذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: میں نے، تو انہوں نے بیان کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایک گروہ کو جو آپ کے پیچھے صف باندھے تھا ایک رکعت پڑھائی، اور دوسرا گروہ آپ کے اور دشمنوں کے مابین ڈٹا ہوا تھا، تو جو گروہ آپ کے ساتھ تھا اسے آپ نے ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر وہ لوگ ان لوگوں کی جگہوں پر چلے گئے جو دشمن کے سامنے صف باندھے تھے، اور وہ لوگ ان کی جگہ آ گئے تو آپ نے انہیں ( بھی ) ایک رکعت پڑھائی۔
Thalabah bin Zaidam kehte hain ke hum Saeed bin Aasi ke sath Tabaristan mein the, hamare sath Hazifah bin Yamin (رضي الله تعالى عنه) bhi the, Saeed ne poocha: tum mein se kis ne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath khauf ki namaz padhi hai? To Hazifah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: maine, to unhon ne bayan karte hue kaha ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek goruh ko jo aap ke pichhe saf bandha tha ek rakat padhai, aur doosra goruh aap ke aur dushmanon ke maabin dutta hua tha, to jo goruh aap ke sath tha usse aap ne ek rakat padhai, phir woh log un logoon ki jagah per chale gaye jo dushman ke samne saf bandhe the, aur woh log un ki jagah a gaye to aap ne unhen ( bhi ) ek rakat padhai.

ثعلبہ بن زہدم کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سعید بن عاصی کے ساتھ طبرستان میں تھے، تو انہوں نے پوچھا: تم لوگوں میں سے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ خوف کی نماز کس نے پڑھی ہے؟ حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: میں نے، پھر حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہو گئے، اور لوگوں نے ان کے پیچھے دو صف بنائی، ایک صف ان کے پیچھے تھی، اور ایک صف دشمن کے مقابلہ میں تھی، تو انہوں نے ان لوگوں کو جو ان کے پیچھے تھے ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر یہ لوگ دوسری صف والوں کی جگہ پر لوٹ گئے، اور وہ لوگ ان لوگوں کی جگہ پر آ گئے، پھر انہوں نے انہیں بھی ایک رکعت پڑھائی، اور ان لوگوں نے قضاء نہیں کی ۔

Hazifah radhiallahu anhu ne kaha: Main ne, phir Hazifah radhiallahu anhu khare ho gaye, aur logoon ne un ke pichhe do saf banayi, ek saf un ke pichhe thi, aur ek saf dusman ke muqabale mein thi, to unhon ne in logoon ko jo un ke pichhe the ek rakat padhai, phir yeh log doosri saf walon ki jagah par laut gaye, aur woh log in logoon ki jagah par aa gaye, phir unhon ne unhen bhi ek rakat padhai, aur in logoon ne qaza nahi ki
Zaid bin Thabit (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that a prayer like that of Hudhaifah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) was narrated from him from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).

زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی اکرم ﷺ سے حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی نماز کے مثل روایت کی ہے۔
Zaid bin Thabit (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se Huzaifa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki namaz ke misl riwayat ki hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الرُّكَيْنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ حَسَّانٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِثْلَ صَلاَةِ حُذَيْفَةَ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1532
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘Allah (جَلَّ ذُو) enjoined the prayer on the tongue of your Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم): four (rak'a) while a resident, two rak'a while traveling, and one rak'a during times of fear’.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہارے نبی کریم ﷺ کی زبان پر حضر میں چار رکعت نماز فرض کی، اور سفر میں دو رکعت، اور خوف میں ایک رکعت۔
Abdul-Allah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Allah Ta'ala ne tumhare Nabi Kareem Sall-Allahu alaihi wa sallam ki zaban par Hazar mein char rakat namaz farz ki, aur safar mein do rakat, aur khouf mein ek rakat.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَخْنَسِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ فَرَضَ اللَّهُ الصَّلاَةَ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّكُمْ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْحَضَرِ أَرْبَعًا وَفِي السَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَفِي الْخَوْفِ رَكْعَةً .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1533
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) prayed at Dhi Qarad and the people formed two rows behind him, one row behind him and one row facing the enemy. He led those who were behind him in praying one rak'a, then they went and took the place of the others, and the others came and he led them in praying one rak'a, and they did not make it up.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ذی قرد ۱؎ میں نماز پڑھی، لوگوں نے آپ کے پیچھے دو صفیں بنائیں، ایک صف آپ کے پیچھے اور ایک دشمن کے مقابلے میں، تو آپ نے ان لوگوں کو جو آپ کے پیچھے کھڑے تھے ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر یہ لوگ دوسری صف والوں کی جگہ پر چلے گئے، اور وہ لوگ ان کی جگہ پر آ گئے، تو آپ نے انہیں بھی ایک رکعت پڑھائی، اور لوگوں نے قضاء نہیں کی۔
Abdul-Allah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Dhi Qard mein namaz padhi, logon ne aap ke pichhe do safain banain, ek saf aap ke pichhe aur ek dushman ke muqable mein, to aap ne un logon ko jo aap ke pichhe khade the ek rakat padhai, phir yeh log doosri saf walon ki jagah per chale gaye, aur woh log in ki jagah per aa gaye, to aap ne unhen bhi ek rakat padhai, aur logon ne qadaa nahin ki.
Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Abdullah bin Abbas ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stood and the people stood with him, and he said the takbir and they said the takbir. Then he bowed, and some of them bowed, then he prostrated and they prostrated, then he stood for the second rak'a and those who had prostrated with him moved back and guarded their brothers, and the other group came and bowed and prostrated with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). All the people were praying and saying the takbir, but they were guarding one another’.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ( خوف کی نماز پڑھانے ) کھڑے ہوئے، لوگ بھی آپ کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوئے، تو آپ نے اللہ اکبر کہا، اور لوگوں نے بھی اللہ اکبر کہا، پھر آپ نے رکوع کیا، اور ان میں سے بھی کچھ لوگوں نے رکوع کیا، پھر آپ نے سجدہ کیا، اور ان لوگوں نے بھی سجدہ کیا، پھر آپ دوسری رکعت کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے تو جن لوگوں نے آپ کے ساتھ سجدہ کر لیا تھا وہ لوگ پیچھے ہٹ گئے، اور اپنے بھائیوں کی حفاظت میں لگ گئے، اور دوسرا گروہ آیا پھر انہوں نے نبی اکرم ﷺ کے ساتھ رکوع کیا، اور سجدہ کیا، اور سبھی لوگ نماز ہی میں تھے، اللہ اکبر کہتے تھے، لیکن ایک دوسرے کی حفاظت ( بھی ) کرتے تھے۔
Abdul-Allah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ( khouf ki namaz padhane ) khare huwe, log bhi aap ke sath khare huwe, to aap ne Allah Akbar kaha, aur logon ne bhi Allah Akbar kaha, phir aap ne rukoo kiya, aur in mein se bhi kuchh logon ne rukoo kiya, phir aap ne sajdah kiya, aur in logon ne bhi sajdah kiya, phir aap doosri rakat ke liye khare huwe to jin logon ne aap ke sath sajdah kar liya tha woh log peeche hat gaye, aur apne bhaiyon ki hifazat mein lag gaye, aur doosra guruo aaya phir unhon ne Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath rukoo kiya, aur sajdah kiya, aur sabhi log namaz hi mein the, Allah Akbar kehte the, lekin ek doosre ki hifazat ( bhi ) karte the.
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَكَبَّرَ وَكَبَّرُوا ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَرَكَعَ أُنَاسٌ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ وَسَجَدُوا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَتَأَخَّرَ الَّذِينَ سَجَدُوا مَعَهُ وَحَرَسُوا إِخْوَانَهُمْ وَأَتَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الأُخْرَى فَرَكَعُوا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَسَجَدُوا وَالنَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ فِي صَلاَةٍ يُكَبِّرُونَ وَلَكِنْ يَحْرُسُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1535
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘the fear prayer was no more than two prostrations like the prayer of these guards of yours today behind the Imams of yours, except that it was one group after another. One group stood, although they were all behind the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and one group prostrated with him, then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stood up and they all stood with him. Then he bowed and they all bowed with him, then he prostrated and those who had been standing the first time prostrated with him. When the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and those who had prostrated with him at the end of their prayer sat, those who had been standing prostrated by themselves, then they sat and the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the taslim with all of them’.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ خوف کی نماز صرف دو سجدوں پر مشتمل تھی، جیسے آج کل تمہارے ان اماموں کی پیچھے تمہارے نگہبان پڑھتے ہیں، مگر وہ باری باری آگے پیچھے آئے، اس طرح کہ پہلے ایک گروہ ( نماز کے لیے آپ کے ساتھ ) کھڑا ہوا حالانکہ وہ سب رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے، آپ کے ساتھ ان میں سے ایک گروہ نے سجدہ کیا، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے، اور لوگ بھی آپ کے ساتھ کھڑے ہو گئے، پھر آپ نے رکوع کیا، اور سبھی لوگوں نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ رکوع کیا، پھر آپ نے سجدہ کیا، تو آپ کے ساتھ ان لوگوں نے سجدہ کیا جو آپ کے ساتھ پہلی بار کھڑے تھے، پھر جب رسول اللہ ﷺ اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے آپ کے ساتھ آخر میں سجدہ کیا تھا بیٹھے تو جو لوگ کھڑے تھے ( اور سجدہ نہیں کیا تھا ) انہوں نے خود سے سجدہ کیا، پھر وہ لوگ بیٹھے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سب کے ساتھ سلام پھیرا۔
Abdul-Allah bin Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke khouf ki namaz sirf do sajdon per mushtamil thi, jaise aaj kal tumhare in imamon ki pichhe tumhare nigehan padhte hain, magar woh bari bari aage pichhe aaye, is tarah ke pehle ek garoh (namaz ke liye aap ke sath) khada hua halanki woh sab Rasoolullah sallahu alaihi wa sallam ke sath the, aap ke sath in mein se ek garoh ne sajda kiya, phir Rasoolullah sallahu alaihi wa sallam khare hue, aur log bhi aap ke sath khare ho gaye, phir aap ne rukoo kiya, aur sabhi logon ne bhi aap ke sath rukoo kiya, phir aap ne sajda kiya, to aap ke sath in logon ne sajda kiya jo aap ke sath pehli bar khare the, phir jab Rasoolullah sallahu alaihi wa sallam aur woh log jin hon ne aap ke sath akhir mein sajda kiya tha bethe to jo log khare the (aur sajda nahi kiya tha) inhon ne khud se sajda kiya, phir woh log bethe to Rasoolullah sallahu alaihi wa sallam ne sab ke sath salam phirha.
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ مَا كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ الْخَوْفِ إِلاَّ سَجْدَتَيْنِ كَصَلاَةِ أَحْرَاسِكُمْ هَؤُلاَءِ الْيَوْمَ خَلْفَ أَئِمَّتِكُمْ هَؤُلاَءِ إِلاَّ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ عُقَبًا قَامَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ وَهُمْ جَمِيعًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَسَجَدَتْ مَعَهُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَامُوا مَعَهُ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَرَكَعُوا مَعَهُ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ فَسَجَدَ مَعَهُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا قِيَامًا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ فَلَمَّا جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالَّذِينَ سَجَدُوا مَعَهُ فِي آخِرِ صَلاَتِهِمْ سَجَدَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا قِيَامًا لأَنْفُسِهِمْ ثُمَّ جَلَسُوا فَجَمَعَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالتَّسْلِيمِ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1536
Salih bin Khawwat narrated from Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them in offering the fear prayer. Some formed a row behind him and some formed a row facing the enemy. He led them in praying one rak'ah, then they moved away and the others came, and he led them in praying one rak'a, then they got up and each (group) made up the other rak'a.

سہل بن ابی حثمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے لوگوں کو خوف کی نماز پڑھائی، تو ایک صف آپ کے پیچھے بنی اور ایک صف دشمن کے بالمقابل بنی، پھر آپ نے انہیں ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر یہ لوگ چلے گئے، اور دوسری صف والے آئے تو آپ نے انہیں بھی ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر لوگ کھڑے ہوئے، اور انہوں نے اپنی ایک ایک رکعت پوری کی۔
Sahal bin Abi Hathama (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne logoon ko khouf ki namaz padhai, to ek saf aap ke peeche bani aur ek saf dushman ke balmuqabil bani, phir aap ne unhen ek rakat padhai, phir yeh log chale gaye, aur doosri saf walay aaye to aap ne unhen bhi ek rakat padhai, phir log khare hue, aur unhon ne apni ek ek rakat poori ki.
Salih bin Khawwat narrated from one who had prayed the fear prayer with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) on the day of Dhat Ar-Riqa' that one group had formed a row behind him and another group faced the enemy. He led those who were with him in praying one rak'a, then he remained standing and they completed the prayer by themselves. Then they moved away and formed a row facing the enemy, and the other group came and he led them in praying the rak'a that was left for him, then he remained sitting while they completed the prayer by themselves, then he said the taslim with them.

صالح بن خوات اس شخص سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ جس نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ غزوہ ذات الرقاع کے دن خوف کی نماز پڑھی ( وہ بیان کرتے ہیں ) کہ ایک گروہ نے آپ کے ساتھ صف بنائی، اور دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے بالمقابل رہا، آپ نے ان لوگوں کو جو آپ کے ساتھ تھے ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر آپ کھڑے رہے، اور ان لوگوں نے خود سے دوسری رکعت پوری کی، پھر وہ لوگ لوٹ کر آئے، اور دشمن کے سامنے صف بستہ ہو گئے، اور دوسرا گروہ آیا تو آپ نے ان لوگوں کو ایک رکعت پڑھائی جو آپ کی نماز سے باقی رہ گئی تھی، پھر آپ بیٹھے رہے، اور ان لوگوں نے اپنی دوسری رکعت خود سے پوری کی، پھر آپ نے ان کے ساتھ سلام پھیرا۔
Saleh bin Khuwat is shakhs se riwayat karte hain ke jisne Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath Ghazwah Zaat ar-Raqaa' ke din khouf ki namaz padhi (woh bayan karte hain) ke ek goruh ne aap ke sath saf banayi, aur dusra goruh dushman ke balmuqabil raha, aap ne in logoon ko jo aap ke sath the ek rakat padhai, phir aap khare rahe, aur in logoon ne khud se dusri rakat puri ki, phir woh log loot kar aaye, aur dushman ke samne saf basta ho gaye, aur dusra goruh aaya to aap ne in logoon ko ek rakat padhai jo aap ki namaz se baki reh gayi thi, phir aap baithay rahe, aur in logoon ne apni dusri rakat khud se puri ki, phir aap ne un ke sath salam phira.
Salim narrated from his father that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led one of the two groups in praying one rak'a while the other group was facing the enemy, then they moved away and took the place of the others, and the others came and he led them in praying the other rak'a, then he said the Salam and they stood up and made up the other rak'a, and the others stood up and made up the other rak'a.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے دو گروہوں میں سے ایک گروہ کو ایک رکعت نماز پڑھائی، اور دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے مقابلہ میں رہا، پھر یہ لوگ جا کر ان لوگوں کی جگہ پر کھڑے ہو گئے، اور وہ لوگ ان لوگوں کی جگہ پر آ گئے، تو آپ نے انہیں دوسری رکعت پڑھائی، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیر دیا، پھر یہ لوگ کھڑے ہوئے اور ان لوگوں نے اپنی باقی ایک رکعت پوری کی ( اور اسی طرح ) وہ لوگ بھی کھڑے ہوئے، اور ان لوگوں نے بھی اپنی رکعت پوری کی۔
Abdul-Allah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne do garuhoon mein se ek garooh ko ek rakat namaz padhai, aur doosra garooh dushman ke muqabale mein raha, phir yeh log ja kar in logoon ki jagah par khade ho gaye, aur woh log in logoon ki jagah par aa gaye, to aap ne unhen doosri rakat padhai, phir aap ne salam phir diya, phir yeh log khade hue aur in logoon ne apni baqi ek rakat poori ki ( aur isi tarah ) woh log bhi khade hue, aur in logoon ne bhi apni rakat poori ki.
Salim bin Abdullah narrated that his father said, ‘I went out on a campaign with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) toward Najd. We confronted the enemy and formed ranks facing them. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stood up and led us in prayer. Some of us stood with him and some of us faced the enemy. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bowed and those who were with him bowed, and prostrated twice. Then they moved away and took the place of the others, and the other group who had not prayed came and he led them in bowing once and prostrating twice. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the Salam and each of the Muslims stood up and bowed once and prostrated twice individually’.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ نجد کی طرف غزوہ کیا، تو ہم دشمن کے مقابل میں کھڑے ہوئے اور ہم نے صف بندی کی، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ ہمیں نماز پڑھانے کھڑے ہوئے، تو ہم میں سے ایک گروہ آپ کے ساتھ کھڑا ہو گیا، اور دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے مقابلہ میں ڈٹا رہا، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اور آپ کے ساتھ والوں نے ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کیے، پھر یہ لوگ جا کر ان لوگوں کی جگہ پر ڈٹ گئے جنہوں نے نماز نہیں پڑھی تھی، اور اس گروہ والے ( آپ کے پیچھے ) آئے جنہوں نے نماز نہیں پڑھی تھی، تو آپ نے انہیں بھی ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کرائے، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سلام پھیرا تو مسلمانوں میں سے ہر آدمی کھڑا ہو گیا، اور اس نے خود سے ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کیے۔
Abdul-Allah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasool-Allah salallahu alaihi wa sallam ke sath Najd ki taraf ghazwa kiya, to hum dushman ke muqabil mein khare hue aur hum ne saf bandi ki, phir Rasool-Allah salallahu alaihi wa sallam hamen namaz padhane khare hue, to hum mein se ek goruh aap ke sath khada ho gaya, aur doosra goruh dushman ke muqabale mein dutta raha, to Rasool-Allah salallahu alaihi wa sallam ne aur aap ke sath walon ne ek rukoo aur do sajde kiye, phir yeh log ja kar in logoon ki jagah par dutt gaye jinhon ne namaz nahin padhi thi, aur is goruh wale ( aap ke pichhe ) aaye jinhon ne namaz nahin padhi thi, to aap ne unhen bhi ek rukoo aur do sajde karaye, phir Rasool-Allah salallahu alaihi wa sallam ne salam pheyra to musalmanoon mein se har aadmi khada ho gaya, aur us ne khud se ek rukoo aur do sajde kiye.
أَخْبَرَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ بَقِيَّةَ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ فَوَازَيْنَا الْعَدُوَّ وَصَافَفْنَاهُمْ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي بِنَا فَقَامَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَّا مَعَهُ وَأَقْبَلَ طَائِفَةٌ عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمَنْ مَعَهُ رَكْعَةً وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا فَكَانُوا مَكَانَ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي لَمْ تُصَلِّ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَامَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرَكَعَ لِنَفْسِهِ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1540
Az-Zuhri narrated that Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) used to say that he offered the fear prayer with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). He said, ‘The Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the takbir and one group of us formed a row behind him while the other group faced the enemy. The Prophet (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) led them in bowing once and prostrating twice, then they moved away and faced the enemy, and the other group came and prayed with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), doing likewise. Then he said the taslim, then each man of both groups stood and prayed by himself, bowing once and prostrating twice’.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم بیان کرتے تھے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ خوف کی نماز پڑھی، نبی اکرم ﷺ نے اللہ اکبر کہا، اور ہم میں سے ایک گروہ نے آپ کے پیچھے صف بنائی، اور دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے سامنے رہا، تو نبی اکرم ﷺ نے انہیں ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کرائے، پھر یہ لوگ پلٹے اور دشمن کے مقابلہ میں آ گئے، اور دوسرا گروہ آیا تو اس نے نبی اکرم ﷺ کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، تو آپ نے ( اس کے ساتھ بھی ) اسی طرح کیا، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیرا، پھر دونوں گروہوں میں سے ہر آدمی کھڑا ہوا، اور اس نے خود سے ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کیے۔
Abdul-Allah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) bayan karte the ke unhon ne Rasool-Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath khouf ki namaz padhi, Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Allah Akbar kaha, aur hum mein se ek garooh ne aap ke peeche saf banai, aur doosra garooh dushman ke samne raha, to Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen ek rukoo aur do sajde karaye, phir yeh log paltte aur dushman ke muqabale mein aa gaye, aur doosra garooh aaya to is ne Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath namaz padhi, to aap ne ( is ke sath bhi ) isi tarah kiya, phir aap ne salam phayra, phir dono garoohon mein se har aadmi khada hua, aur us ne khud se ek rukoo aur do sajde kiye.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ كَبَّرَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَصَفَّ خَلْفَهُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَّا وَأَقْبَلَتْ طَائِفَةٌ عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا وَأَقْبَلُوا عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الأُخْرَى فَصَلُّوا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَفَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَامَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى لِنَفْسِهِ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ .

Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offered the fear prayer. He stood and said the takbir, and a group of us prayed behind him while another group was facing the enemy. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bowed once and prostrated twice with them, then they moved away but did not say the taslim. They went to face the enemy and lined up in their places, and the other group came and formed a row behind the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), and he led them in praying, bowing once and prostrating twice. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the taslim and he had bowed twice and prostrated four times. Then the two groups stood up and each man prayed by himself, bowing once and prostrating twice’. Abu Bakr ibn As-Sunni said, ‘Az-Zuhri heard two hadiths from Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه), and he did not hear this from him’.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے خوف کی نماز پڑھائی، تو آپ کھڑے ہوئے، اور اللہ اکبر کہا، تو آپ کے پیچھے ہم میں سے ایک گروہ نے نماز پڑھی، اور ایک گروہ دشمن کے سامنے رہا، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اس کے ساتھ ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کئے، پھر وہ لوگ پلٹے حالانکہ انہوں نے ابھی سلام نہیں پھیرا تھا، اور دشمن کے بالمقابل آ گئے، اور ان کی جگہ صف بستہ ہو گئے، اور دوسرا گروہ آیا، اور وہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پیچھے صف بستہ ہو گیا، تو آپ ﷺ نے اس کے ساتھ ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کئے، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سلام پھیرا، اس حال میں کہ آپ نے دو رکوع اور چار سجدے مکمل کر لیے تھے، پھر دونوں گروہ کھڑے ہوئے، اور ان میں سے ہر شخص نے خود سے ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کیے۔ ابوبکر بن السنی کہتے ہیں: زہری نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم سے دو حدیثیں سنی ہیں، لیکن یہ حدیث انہوں نے ان سے نہیں سنی ہے ۔
أَخْبَرَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ، وَأَبِي، أَيُّوبَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ قَامَ فَكَبَّرَ فَصَلَّى خَلْفَهُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَّا وَطَائِفَةٌ مُوَاجِهَةَ الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا وَلَمْ يُسَلِّمُوا وَأَقْبَلُوا عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَصَفُّوا مَكَانَهُمْ وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الأُخْرَى فَصَفُّوا خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَدْ أَتَمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَامَتِ الطَّائِفَتَانِ فَصَلَّى كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ السُّنِّيِّ الزُّهْرِيُّ سَمِعَ مِنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثَيْنِ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذَا مِنْهُ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1542
Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offered the fear prayer during one of his battles. One group stood with him and another group faced the enemy. He led those who were with him in praying one rak'a, then they went away, and the others came, and he led them in praying one rak'ah. Then each group made up one rak'a’.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اپنے بعض غزوات میں خوف کی نماز پڑھی، تو ایک گروہ آپ کے ساتھ کھڑا ہوا، اور دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے مقابلہ میں رہا، تو جو لوگ آپ کے ساتھ تھے انہیں آپ نے ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر یہ لوگ چلے گئے، اور دوسرے لوگ آ گئے تو آپ نے انہیں ( بھی ) ایک رکعت پڑھائی، پھر دونوں گروہوں نے ایک ایک رکعت پوری کی۔
Marwan bin Al-Hakam (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he asked Abu Hurairah ( رضي الله تعالى عنه), ‘did you offer the fear prayer with the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)?’ Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘Yes’. He asked, ‘When?’ Then he said, ‘In the year of the campaign to Najd. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stood up to pray Asr and a group stood with him, and another group as facing the enemy, with their backs toward the Qibla. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the takbir, and they all said the takbir, those who were with him and those who were with him facing the enemy. Then the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bowed once and the group that was with him bowed, then he and the group that was with him prostrated twice, while the others were standing facing the enemy. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stood up and the group that was with him stood and went to face the enemy, and the group that had been facing the enemy came and bowed and prostrated while the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was standing there. Then they stood up, and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bowed again, and they bowed and prostrated with him. Then the group that had been facing the enemy came and bowed and prostrated, while the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and those who were with him were sitting. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the taslim and they all said the taslim. So the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had prayed two rak'a and each of the two groups had prayed two rak'a’.

مروان بن حکم سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ کیا آپ نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ خوف کی نماز پڑھی ہے؟ تو ابوہریرہ نے کہا: ہاں پڑھی ہے، انہوں نے پوچھا: کب؟ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: نجد کے غزوہ کے سال رسول اللہ ﷺ عصر کی نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے، ایک گروہ آپ کے ساتھ کھڑا ہوا، اور دوسرا گروہ دشمن کے مقابل رہا، اور ان کی پیٹھ قبلہ کی طرف تھی، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اللہ اکبر کہا، تو جو آپ کے ساتھ تھے اور جو دشمن کا مقابلہ کر رہے تھے سبھوں نے اللہ اکبر کہا، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ایک رکوع کیا، اور اس گروہ نے بھی جو آپ کے ساتھ تھا رکوع کیا، پھر آپ نے سجدہ کیا، اور اس گروہ نے بھی سجدہ کیا جو آپ کے ساتھ تھا، اور دوسرے لوگ دشمن کے مقابل کھڑے رہے، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے، اور وہ گروہ جو آپ کے ساتھ تھا، پھر یہ لوگ جا کر دشمن کے بالمقابل کھڑے ہو گئے، پھر وہ گروہ جو دشمن کے بالمقابل تھا آیا، چنانچہ ان لوگوں نے ( بھی ) رکوع کیا، اور سجدہ کیا، اور رسول اللہ ﷺ کھڑے رہے جیسے تھے، پھر وہ لوگ کھڑے ہوئے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے دوسرا رکوع کیا، تو ان لوگوں نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ رکوع کیا، آپ نے سجدہ کیا، اور ان لوگوں نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ سجدہ کیا، پھر وہ گروہ آیا جو دشمن کے مقابل میں کھڑا تھا، تو اس نے بھی رکوع اور سجدہ کیا، اور رسول اللہ ﷺ اور وہ لوگ جو آپ کے ساتھ تھے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، پھر سلام پھیرنے ( کا وقت آیا ) تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سلام پھیرا، اور تمام لوگوں نے سلام پھیرا، تو اس طرح رسول اللہ ﷺ کی دو رکعت ہوئی، اور دونوں گروہوں کے ہر ہر فرد کی ( بھی ) دو دو رکعت ہوئی۔

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Najd ke ghazwa ke saal Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) asr ki namaz ke liye khare hue, ek garooh aap ke sath khara hua, aur dusra garooh dushman ke muqabil raha, aur un ki peeth qibla ki taraf thi, Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Allah Akbar kaha, to jo aap ke sath the aur jo dushman ka muqabla kar rahe the sabhon ne Allah Akbar kaha, phir Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek rukoo kiya, aur is garooh ne bhi jo aap ke sath tha rukoo kiya, phir aap ne sajdah kiya, aur is garooh ne bhi sajdah kiya jo aap ke sath tha, aur dusre log dushman ke muqabil khare rahe, phir Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khare hue, aur woh garooh jo aap ke sath tha, phir yeh log ja kar dushman ke bal muqabil khara ho gaye, phir woh garooh jo dushman ke bal muqabil tha aya, chananchh in logon ne ( bhi ) rukoo kiya, aur sajdah kiya, aur Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khare rahe jaise the, phir woh log khare hue to Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne dusra rukoo kiya, to in logon ne bhi aap ke sath rukoo kiya, aap ne sajdah kiya, aur in logon ne bhi aap ke sath sajdah kiya, phir woh garooh aya jo dushman ke muqabil mein khara tha, to us ne bhi rukoo aur sajdah kiya, aur Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aur woh log jo aap ke sath the baithe hue the, phir salam phirne ( ka waqt aya ) to Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne salam phirha, aur tamam logon ne salam phirha, to is tarah Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki do rakat hoi, aur dono garohoon ke har har farad ki ( bhi ) do do rakat hoi.
أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ، ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ، وَذَكَرَ، آخَرَ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَسْوَدِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ هَلْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ نَعَمْ . قَالَ مَتَى قَالَ عَامَ غَزْوَةِ نَجْدٍ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِصَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقَامَتْ مَعَهُ طَائِفَةٌ وَطَائِفَةٌ أُخْرَى مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ وَظُهُورُهُمْ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ فَكَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَكَبَّرُوا جَمِيعًا الَّذِينَ مَعَهُ وَالَّذِينَ يُقَابِلُونَ الْعَدُوَّ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً وَرَكَعَتْ مَعَهُ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ وَسَجَدَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهِ وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَامَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي مَعَهُ فَذَهَبُوا إِلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَقَابَلُوهُمْ وَأَقْبَلَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعُوا وَسَجَدُوا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ كَمَا هُوَ ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَرَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً أُخْرَى وَرَكَعُوا مَعَهُ وَسَجَدَ وَسَجَدُوا مَعَهُ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ مُقَابِلَ الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعُوا وَسَجَدُوا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَاعِدٌ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ ثُمَّ كَانَ السَّلاَمُ فَسَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَسَلَّمُوا جَمِيعًا فَكَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَتَانِ وَلِكُلِّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَانِ رَكْعَتَانِ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1544
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was camping between Dajnan and Usfan, besieging the idolaters. The idolaters said, ‘These people have a prayer that is dearer to them than their sons and daughters. Plan it, then strike them with a single heavy blow’. Jibril (عليه السالم) came and told the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) to divide his companions into two groups, then led one group in prayer while the others faced the enemy, on guard and with weapons at the ready. So he led them in praying one rak'a, then they moved back and the others moved forward, and he led them in praying on rak'a, so that each one of them had prayed one rak'a with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the Prophet (صلى هللا عليه و آله
وسلم) had prayed two rak'a’.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ضجنان اور عسفان کے درمیان اترے آپ مشرکین کا محاصرہ کئے ہوئے تھے، مشرکین نے ( آپس میں ) کہا: ان لوگوں کی ایک ایسی نماز ہے جو انہیں اپنی اولاد اور اپنی بیویوں سے بھی زیادہ محبوب ہے، تو ایسا کرو تم سب تیار رہو ( جب یہ نماز پڑھنے لگیں ) تو یکبارگی ان پر پل پڑو، تو جبرائیل علیہ السلام ( آپ کے پاس ) آئے، اور انہوں نے آپ کو حکم دیا کہ آپ صحابہ کو دو حصوں میں بانٹ دیں، ان میں سے ایک گروہ کو آپ نماز پڑھائیں، اور ایک گروہ دشمن کے مقابل اپنے بچاؤ کی چیز اور اپنے ہتھیار لے کر کھڑا رہے، آپ انہیں ایک رکعت پڑھائیں، پھر یہ لوگ پیچھے ہٹ جائیں، اور وہ لوگ آگے آ جائیں جو دشمن کے مقابل ہوں، تو پھر آپ انہیں ایک رکعت پڑھائیں، تو لوگوں کی نبی اکرم ﷺ کے ساتھ ایک ایک رکعت ہو گی، اور نبی اکرم ﷺ کی دو رکعتیں ہوں گی۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Dajjan aur Asfan ke darmiyan utre. Aap mushrikin ka muhasra kiye huye the. Mushrikin ne ( aapas mein ) kaha: In logoon ki ek aisi namaz hai jo unhein apni aulad aur apni biwiyon se bhi zyada mahaboob hai, to aisa karo tum sab tyar raho ( jab yeh namaz padhne lagen ) to ekbargi un par pal padho, to Jibrail Alaihi Salam ( aap ke pas ) aye, aur unhon ne aap ko hukm diya ke aap sahaba ko do hisson mein bant den, in mein se ek goruh ko aap namaz padhaen, aur ek goruh dushman ke muqabil apne bachan ki cheez aur apne hathiyar le kar khara rahe, aap unhein ek rakat padhaen, phir yeh log peeche hat jaen, aur woh log aage aa jaen jo dushman ke muqabil hon, to phir aap unhein ek rakat padhaen, to logoon ki Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath ek ek rakat hogi, aur Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki do rakaten hon gi.
أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْهُنَائِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَازِلاً بَيْنَ ضَجْنَانَ وَعُسْفَانَ مُحَاصِرَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِنَّ لِهَؤُلاَءِ صَلاَةً هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَبْنَائِهِمْ وَأَبْكَارِهِمْ أَجْمِعُوا أَمْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ مِيلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ مَيْلَةً وَاحِدَةً فَجَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَقْسِمَ أَصْحَابَهُ نِصْفَيْنِ فَيُصَلِّيَ بِطَائِفَةٍ مِنْهُمْ وَطَائِفَةٌ مُقْبِلُونَ عَلَى عَدُوِّهِمْ قَدْ أَخَذُوا حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَيُصَلِّيَ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ يَتَأَخَّرَ هَؤُلاَءِ وَيَتَقَدَّمَ أُولَئِكَ فَيُصَلِّيَ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً تَكُونُ لَهُمْ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً رَكْعَةً وَلِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَتَانِ .

Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them in offering the fear prayer. One row stood in front of him and another row stood behind him. He led those who were behind in prayer, bowing once and prostrating twice, then they moved forward until they took the place of their companions, and the others came and took their place, and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them in prayer, bowing once and prostrating twice, then he said the taslim, so the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had prayed two rak'a and they had prayed one.

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے لوگوں کو خوف کی نماز پڑھائی، تو ایک صف آپ کے آگے کھڑی ہوئی، اور ایک صف آپ کے پیچھے، آپ نے ان لوگوں کے ساتھ جو آپ کے پیچھے تھے ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کئے، پھر یہ لوگ آگے چلے گئے یہاں تک کہ جا کر اپنے ساتھیوں کی جگہ میں کھڑے ہو گئے، اور وہ لوگ آ کر ان لوگوں کی جگہ کھڑے ہو گئے، اور رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان کے ساتھ ( بھی ) ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کئے، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیرا، تو نبی کریم ﷺ کی دو رکعتیں ہوئیں، اور لوگوں کی ایک ایک۔
Jaber bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne logon ko khouf ki namaz padhai, to ek saf aap ke aage khadi hui, aur ek saf aap ke peeche, aap ne in logon ke sath jo aap ke peeche the ek rukoo aur do sajde kiye, phir yeh log aage chale gaye yahan tak ke ja kar apne sathiyon ki jagah mein khade ho gaye, aur woh log aa kar in logon ki jagah khade ho gaye, aur Rasulullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne in ke sath ( bhi ) ek rukoo aur do sajde kiye, phir aap ne salam phira, to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki do rakatein huin, aur logon ki ek ek.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى بِهِمْ صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ فَقَامَ صَفٌّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَصَفٌّ خَلْفَهُ صَلَّى بِالَّذِينَ خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ هَؤُلاَءِ حَتَّى قَامُوا فِي مَقَامِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ وَجَاءَ أُولَئِكَ فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ هَؤُلاَءِ وَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ فَكَانَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَتَانِ وَلَهُمْ رَكْعَةٌ .

Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘we were with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the Iqamah for prayer was said. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stood up and one group stood behind him while another group faced the enemy. He led those who were behind him in prayer, bowing once and prostrating twice. Then they went and took the place of those who had been facing the enemy, and that group came and the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them in prayer, bowing once and prostrating twice. Then the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the taslim and those who were behind him said the taslim, as did the other group’.

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ( ایک غزوہ میں ) رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے ( نماز کا وقت ہوا ) تو نماز کھڑی کی گئی، رسول اللہ ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے، اور آپ کے پیچھے ایک گروہ کھڑا ہوا، اور ایک گروہ دشمن کے مقابل کھڑا رہا، آپ نے ان لوگوں کے ساتھ جو آپ کے پیچھے تھے ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کیے، پھر وہ چلے گئے، اور ان لوگوں کی جگہ آ کر کھڑے ہو گئے جو دشمن کے بالمقابل تھے، اور وہ گروہ آیا، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان کے ساتھ بھی ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کئے، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سلام پھیرا، تو آپ کے پیچھے والوں نے بھی سلام پھیرا، اور ان لوگوں نے بھی۔
Jaber bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum (ek ghazwa mein) rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath the (namaz ka waqt hua) to namaz khadri ki gayi, rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khare hue, aur aap ke pichhe ek garoh khada hua, aur ek garoh dusman ke muqabil khada raha, aap ne in logoon ke sath jo aap ke pichhe the ek rukoo aur do sajdo kiye, phir woh chale gaye, aur in logoon ki jagah aa kar khare ho gaye jo dusman ke balmukabil the, aur woh garoh aaya, rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne in ke sath bhi ek rukoo aur do sajdo kiye, phir rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne salam phirra, to aap ke pichhe walon ne bhi salam phirra, aur in logoon ne bhi.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي يَزِيدُ الْفَقِيرُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَامَتْ خَلْفَهُ طَائِفَةٌ وَطَائِفَةٌ مُوَاجِهَةَ الْعَدُوِّ فَصَلَّى بِالَّذِينَ خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً وَسَجَدَ بِهِمْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمُ انْطَلَقُوا فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا فِي وَجْهِ الْعَدُوِّ وَجَاءَتْ تِلْكَ الطَّائِفَةُ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَكْعَةً وَسَجَدَ بِهِمْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ الَّذِينَ خَلْفَهُ وَسَلَّمَ أُولَئِكَ .

Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘we witnessed the fear prayer with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). We stood behind him in two rows, and the enemy was between us and the Qibla. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the takbir. He bowed and we bowed, and he stood up again and we stood up. When he went down in prostration, the Apostle of Allah ( صلى هللاعليه و آله وسلم) and those who were closest to him prostrated, and the second row remained standing until the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the row closest to him stood up. Then the second row prostrated when the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had stood up, where they were. Then the row that had been closest to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) moved back and the second row moved forward, each standing in the place where the other had been. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bowed and we bowed, then he stood up and we stood up, and when he went down in prostration, those who were closest to him prostrated and the others remained standing. When the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and those who were closest to him sat up, the others prostrated, then he said the taslim’.

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ خوف کی نماز میں موجود تھے، ہم آپ کے پیچھے کھڑے ہوئے، اور ہم نے دو صفیں کیں، اور دشمن ہمارے اور قبلہ کے درمیان تھا، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے تکبیر ( تکبیر تحریمہ ) کہی، اور ہم نے بھی کہی، آپ نے رکوع کیا ہم نے بھی رکوع کیا، آپ ( رکوع سے ) اٹھے اور ہم بھی اٹھے، پھر جب آپ سجدے کے لیے جھکے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اور ان لوگوں نے جو آپ کے قریب ( یعنی پہلی صف میں ) تھے سجدہ کیا، اور دوسری صف اس وقت تک کھڑی رہی جب تک رسول اللہ ﷺ اور آپ کے ساتھ والی صف نے سر اٹھایا، پھر دوسری صف نے جس وقت رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سر اٹھایا، اپنی جگہوں پر سجدہ کیا، پھر جو صف نبی اکرم ﷺ سے قریب تھی پیچھے ہٹ گئی، اور پیچھے والی صف آگے آ گئی، اور آ کر ان کی جگہوں میں کھڑی ہو گئی، اور یہ لوگ پچھلے والوں کی جگہوں میں جا کر کھڑے ہو گئے، پھر نبی اکرم ﷺ نے رکوع کیا، اور ہم نے بھی رکوع کیا، پھر آپ نے رکوع سے سر اٹھایا اور ہم نے بھی اٹھایا، پھر جب آپ سجدے کے لیے جھکے تو ان لوگوں نے سجدہ کیا جو آپ سے قریب تھے، اور دوسرے کھڑے رہے، پھر جب رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اور ان لوگوں نے جو آپ سے قریب تھے ( سجدے سے سر ) اٹھایا تو دوسروں نے سجدہ کیا، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیرا۔
Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum Rasool Allah Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ke sath khouf ki namaz mein maujud the, hum aap ke pichhe khade hue, aur hum ne do safain ki, aur dushman hamare aur qibla ke darmiyan tha, Rasool Allah Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ne takbir ( takbir tahrima) kahi, aur hum ne bhi kahi, aap ne rukoo kia hum ne bhi rukoo kia, aap ( rukoo se) uthhe aur hum bhi uthhe, phir jab aap sujde ke liye jhukhe to Rasool Allah Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ne aur un logoon ne jo aap ke qareeb ( yani pehli saf mein) the sujuda kia, aur dusri saf is waqt tak khadi rahi jab tak Rasool Allah Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam aur aap ke sath wali saf ne sar uthaya, phir dusri saf ne jis waqt Rasool Allah Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ne sar uthaya, apni jagahon par sujuda kia, phir jo saf Nabi Akram Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam se qareeb thi pichhe hat gai, aur pichhe wali saf aage aa gai, aur aa kar un ki jagahon mein khadi ho gai, aur yeh log pichhle walon ki jagahon mein ja kar khade ho gaye, phir Nabi Akram Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ne rukoo kia, aur hum ne bhi rukoo kia, phir aap ne rukoo se sar uthaya aur hum ne bhi uthaya, phir jab aap sujde ke liye jhukhe to un logoon ne sujuda kia jo aap se qareeb the, aur dusre khade rahe, phir jab Rasool Allah Sali Allahu Alaihi Wasallam ne aur un logoon ne jo aap se qareeb the ( sujde se sar) uthaya to dusron ne sujuda kia, phir aap ne salam phirha.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الدِّرْهَمِيُّ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ شَهِدْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ فَقُمْنَا خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ وَالْعَدُوُّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَكَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَكَبَّرْنَا وَرَكَعَ وَرَكَعْنَا وَرَفَعَ وَرَفَعْنَا فَلَمَّا انْحَدَرَ لِلسُّجُودِ سَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَقَامَ الصَّفُّ الثَّانِي حِينَ رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالصَّفُّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ الصَّفُّ الثَّانِي حِينَ رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي أَمْكِنَتِهِمْ ثُمَّ تَأَخَّرَ الصَّفُّ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَلُونَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَتَقَدَّمَ الصَّفُّ الآخَرُ فَقَامَ فِي مَقَامِهِمْ وَقَامَ هَؤُلاَءِ فِي مَقَامِ الآخَرِينَ قِيَامًا وَرَكَعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَرَكَعْنَا ثُمَّ رَفَعَ وَرَفَعْنَا فَلَمَّا انْحَدَرَ لِلسُّجُودِ سَجَدَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ سَجَدَ الآخَرُونَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1548
Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘we were with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in a palm grove and the enemy was between us and the Qibla. The Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the takbir and we all said the takbir. Then he bowed and we all bowed. Then the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the row that was closest to him prostrated, while the others remained standing, guarding us. When we stood up, the others prostrated where we were, then they moved forward and he bowed and they all bowed, then he stood up and they all stood up. Then the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the row that was closest to him prostrated, and the others remained standing, guarding them. When they had prostrated and were sitting, the others prostrated where they were, then he said the Salam’. Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘As your leaders do’.

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم لوگ نبی اکرم ﷺ کے ساتھ کچھ کھجور کے باغات میں تھے، اور دشمن ہمارے اور قبلہ کے درمیان تھا، تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے تکبیر تحریمہ کہی، تو سبھوں نے تکبیر تحریمہ کہی، پھر آپ نے رکوع کیا، تو سبھوں نے رکوع کیا، پھر نبی اکرم ﷺ نے اور اس صف نے جو آپ سے قریب تھی سجدہ کیا، اور دوسرے لوگ کھڑے ان کی حفاظت کرتے رہے، پھر جب وہ کھڑے ہو گئے تو دوسروں نے بھی اپنی جگہوں پر جہاں وہ تھے سجدہ کیا، پھر وہ لوگ ان لوگوں کی جگہ پر آگے آ گئے ۱؎ پھر آپ نے رکوع کیا، تو سبھوں نے ایک ساتھ رکوع کیا، پھر آپ نے ( رکوع سے سر ) اٹھایا تو سبھوں نے سر اٹھایا، پھر نبی اکرم ﷺ نے سجدہ کیا، اور اس صف نے جو آپ سے قریب تھی، اور دوسرے لوگ کھڑے ان کی پہریداری کرتے رہے، پھر جب وہ لوگ سجدہ کر چکے اور ( سجدہ کے بعد ) بیٹھ گئے، تو دوسروں نے بھی اپنی جگہوں میں سجدہ کیا، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیرا، جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: جس طرح تمہارے امراء کرتے ہیں، ( یعنی سلام پھیرتے ہیں ) ۔
Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum log Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath kuchh khajoor ke baghat mein the, aur dushman hamare aur qibla ke darmiyan tha, to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne takbir tahrima kahi, to sabhon ne takbir tahrima kahi, phir aap ne rukoo kiya, to sabhon ne rukoo kiya, phir Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne aur is saf ne jo aap se qareeb thi sajda kiya, aur dusre log khare un ki hifazat karte rahe, phir jab woh khare ho gaye to dusron ne bhi apni jagahon par jahan woh the sajda kiya, phir woh log un logon ki jagah par aage aa gaye 1 phir aap ne rukoo kiya, to sabhon ne ek sath rukoo kiya, phir aap ne ( rukoo se sar ) uthaya to sabhon ne sar uthaya, phir Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sajda kiya, aur is saf ne jo aap se qareeb thi, aur dusre log khare un ki pehridaari karte rahe, phir jab woh log sajda kar chuke aur ( sajda ke baad ) beth gaye, to dusron ne bhi apni jagahon mein sajda kiya, phir aap ne salam pheira, Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Jis tarah tumhare amra karte hain, ( yani salam phirte hain ) .
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِنَخْلٍ وَالْعَدُوُّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَكَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَكَبَّرُوا جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ رَكَعَ فَرَكَعُوا جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالصَّفُّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ يَحْرُسُونَهُمْ فَلَمَّا قَامُوا سَجَدَ الآخَرُونَ مَكَانَهُمُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا فِيهِ ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ هَؤُلاَءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلاَءِ فَرَكَعَ فَرَكَعُوا جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ رَفَعَ فَرَفَعُوا جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالصَّفُّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَالآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ يَحْرُسُونَهُمْ فَلَمَّا سَجَدُوا وَجَلَسُوا سَجَدَ الآخَرُونَ مَكَانَهُمْ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ . قَالَ جَابِرٌ كَمَا يَفْعَلُ أُمَرَاؤُكُمْ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1549
Shu'bah narrated from Mansur (رضي الله تعالى عنه) who said, ‘I heard Mujahid narrating from Abu Ayyash Az-Zuraqi ( رضي الله تعالى عنه)’. Shu'bah said, ‘He had written it for me, and I read it before him, and I heard him narrating it; rather, I even memorized it’. Ibn Bashshar ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘I memorized it from the book that the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was drawing up ranks facing the enemy in Usfan when the idolaters were led by Khalid bin Al-Walid ( رضي الله تعالى عنه). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them in praying Zuhr. The idolaters said, ‘They have a prayer after this that is dearer to them than their wealth and sons’. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them in praying Asr. He divided them into two rows, behind him. He led them all in bowing, then when they raised their heads, he led the row that was closest to him in prostrating, while the others remained standing. When they raised their heads from prostration, the second row prostrated, as they had already bowed with the Apostle of Allah ( صلىهللا عليه و آله وسلم). Then the front row moved forward, so each of them took the place of his companion. Then the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led them all in bowing, then when they raised their heads from bowing, the row that was closest to him prostrated while the others remained standing, then when they had finished prostrating, the others prostrated, then the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said the taslim for all of them together’.

ابوعیاش زرقی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ مقام عسفان میں دشمن کے مقابلہ میں صف آرا تھے، مشرکین کی کمان خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہاتھ میں تھی، نبی اکرم ﷺ نے لوگوں کو ظہر کی نماز پڑھائی، تو مشرک آپ سے میں کہنے لگے کہ ان کی اس نماز کے بعد جو نماز ہے وہ انہیں اپنے اموال و اولاد سے بھی زیادہ محبوب ہے، ( چنانچہ جب عصر کا وقت ہوا ) تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے لوگوں کو عصر کی نماز پڑھائی، تو آپ نے اپنے پیچھے ان کی دو صفیں بنائیں، پھر آپ نے ان سبھوں کے ساتھ رکوع کیا، پھر جب لوگوں نے اپنے سروں کو رکوع سے اٹھا لیا تو ( آپ کے ساتھ ) اس صف نے سجدہ کیا جو آپ سے قریب تھی، اور دوسرے کھڑے رہے، پھر جب ان لوگوں نے اپنے سروں کو سجدے سے اٹھا لیا تو پچھلی صف نے بھی سجدہ کیا اپنے اس رکوع کے ساتھ جسے انہوں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ کیا تھا، پھر پہلی صف پیچھے چلی گئی، اور پچھلی صف آگے بڑھ آئی، ان میں سے ہر ایک اپنے ساتھی کی جگہ پر کھڑا ہو گیا، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سبھوں کے ساتھ مل کر رکوع کیا، پھر جب لوگوں نے رکوع سے اپنے سر اٹھا لیے تو وہ صف جو آپ سے قریب تھی سجدہ میں گئی، اور دوسرے لوگ کھڑے رہے، پھر جب یہ لوگ سجدے سے فارغ ہو گئے، تو دوسروں نے سجدہ کیا، پھر نبی اکرم ﷺ نے سبھوں کے ساتھ سلام پھیرا۔
Abu Ya'ash Zarqi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) maqam Usfan mein dushman ke muqabale mein saf aara the, mushrikin ki kaman Khalid bin Walid (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke hath mein thi, Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne logoon ko zuhr ki namaz padhai, to mushrik aap se mein kahne lage ke in ki is namaz ke baad jo namaz hai woh unhen apne amwal o aulad se bhi ziada mahabub hai, (chananchh jab asr ka waqt hua) to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne logoon ko asr ki namaz padhai, to aap ne apne pichhe in ki do safain banain, phir aap ne in sabhon ke sath rukoo kia, phir jab logoon ne apne siron ko rukoo se uthaa liya to (aap ke sath) is saf ne sajda kia jo aap se qareeb thi, aur doosre khare rahe, phir jab in logoon ne apne siron ko sajde se uthaa liya to pichhli saf ne bhi sajda kia apne is rukoo ke sath jise unhon ne Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath kia tha, phir pehli saf pichhe chali gayi, aur pichhli saf aage barh aayi, in mein se har ek apne sathi ki jagah par khada ho gaya, phir Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sabhon ke sath mil kar rukoo kia, phir jab logoon ne rukoo se apne sir uthaa liye to woh saf jo aap se qareeb thi sajda mein gayi, aur doosre log khare rahe, phir jab yeh log sajde se farigh ho gaye, to doosron ne sajda kia, phir Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sabhon ke sath salam phirha.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ كَتَبَ بِهِ إِلَىَّ وَقَرَأْتُهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ يُحَدِّثُ وَلَكِنِّي حَفِظْتُهُ قَالَ ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ حِفْظِي مِنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ مُصَافَّ الْعَدُوِّ بِعُسْفَانَ وَعَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَصَلَّى بِهِمُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الظُّهْرَ قَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِنَّ لَهُمْ صَلاَةً بَعْدَ هَذِهِ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَبْنَائِهِمْ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْعَصْرَ فَصَفَّهُمْ صَفَّيْنِ خَلْفَهُ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَمِيعًا فَلَمَّا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ سَجَدَ بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَقَامَ الآخَرُونَ فَلَمَّا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ السُّجُودِ سَجَدَ الصَّفُّ الْمُؤَخَّرُ بِرُكُوعِهِمْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ تَأَخَّرَ الصَّفُّ الْمُقَدَّمُ وَتَقَدَّمَ الصَّفُّ الْمُؤَخَّرُ فَقَامَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ فِي مَقَامِ صَاحِبِهِ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَمِيعًا فَلَمَّا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ سَجَدَ الصَّفُّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَقَامَ الآخَرُونَ فَلَمَّا فَرَغُوا مِنْ سُجُودِهِمْ سَجَدَ الآخَرُونَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَيْهِمْ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1550
Abu Ayyash Al-Zuraqi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘we were with the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in Usfan and the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led us in praying Zuhr. The idolaters were led that day by Khalid bin Al-Walid, and the idolaters said, ‘we have caught them unawares’. Then the fear prayer was revealed between Zuhr and Asr. The Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led us in praying Asr and divided us into two groups, a group that prayed with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and a group that guarded him. He said takbir with those who were closest to him and those who were guarding them, then he bowed and both groups bowed with him. Then those who were closest to him prostrated. Then they moved back and the others moved forward and prostrated. Then he stood and led them all in bowing, those who were closest to him and those who were guarding him. Then he led those who were closest to him in prostrating, then they moved back and took the place of their companions and the others came forward and prostrated. Then he said the taslim so each group had prayed two rak'a with their Imam. And he offered the fear prayer once in the land of Banu Sulaym’.

ابوعیاش زرقی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم لوگ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ساتھ مقام عسفان میں تھے، آپ ﷺ نے ہمیں ظہر کی نماز پڑھائی، اس وقت مشرکین کی کمان خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ عنہ کر رہے تھے، مشرکوں نے ( آپ سے میں ) کہا: ہم نے انہیں دھوکہ دینے اور انہیں غفلت میں ( دبوچنے کا ) موقع پا لیا ہے، تو ظہر اور عصر کے درمیان خوف کی نماز نازل ہوئی، چنانچہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ہمیں نماز عصر پڑھائی تو ہم دو گروہوں میں بٹ گئے، ایک گروہ نبی اکرم ﷺ کے ساتھ نماز پڑھنے لگا، اور ایک گروہ ان کی حفاظت کرتا رہا، آپ نے جو آپ کے ساتھ کھڑے تھے، اور جو آپ کی حفاظت میں لگے تھے سبھوں کے ساتھ تکبیر تحریمہ کہی، پھر آپ نے رکوع کیا، تو ان لوگوں نے اور ان لوگوں نے سبھوں نے ایک ساتھ رکوع کیا، پھر جو آپ کے قریب تھے ان لوگوں نے سجدہ کیا، اور سجدہ کر کے وہ پیچھے ہٹ گئے اور پیچھے والے آگے بڑھ آئے، پھر انہوں نے سجدہ کیا، پھر آپ کھڑے ہوئے، پھر جو آپ کے قریب تھے اور جو آپ کی حفاظت کر رہے تھے سبھوں کے ساتھ مل کر آپ نے دوسرا رکوع کیا، پھر آپ نے اپنے پاس والوں کے ساتھ سجدہ کیا، پھر وہ لوگ پیچھے ہٹ گئے، اور اپنے ساتھیوں کی صف میں کھڑے ہو گئے اور پیچھے والے آگے بڑھ آئے اور انہوں نے سجدہ کیا، پھر آپ نے ان پر سلام پھیرا، تو ان میں سے ہر ایک کی امام کے ساتھ دو دو رکعت ہو گئی، اور ایک بار آپ نے بنی سلیم کی سر زمین میں ( بھی ) خوف کی نماز پڑھی۔
Abu Ya'ash Zarqi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke hum log Rasool Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ke sath Maqam Usfan mein the, Aap SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ne humen zuhr ki namaz padhai, is waqt mushrikin ki kaman Khalid bin Walid (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kar rahe the, mushrikon ne ( Aap se mein ) kaha: hum ne inhen dhokha dene aur inhen ghaflat mein ( dabochne ka ) mauqa pa liya hai, to zuhr aur asr ke darmiyan khouf ki namaz nazil hui, chananchh Rasool Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ne humen namaz asr padhai to hum do grouhon mein bat gaye, ek grouh Nabi Akram SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM ke sath namaz padhne laga, aur ek grouh un ki hifazat karta raha, Aap ne jo Aap ke sath khade the, aur jo Aap ki hifazat mein lage the sabhon ke sath takbir tahrima kahi, phir Aap ne rukoo kiya, to un logon ne aur un logon ne sabhon ne ek sath rukoo kiya, phir jo Aap ke qareeb the un logon ne sajda kiya, aur sajda kar ke woh peeche hat gaye aur peeche wale aage barh aaye, phir unhon ne sajda kiya, phir Aap khade hue, phir jo Aap ke qareeb the aur jo Aap ki hifazat kar rahe the sabhon ke sath mil kar Aap ne doosra rukoo kiya, phir Aap ne apne pass walon ke sath sajda kiya, phir woh log peeche hat gaye, aur apne sathyon ki saf mein khade ho gaye aur peeche wale aage barh aaye aur unhon ne sajda kiya, phir Aap ne un par salam phayra, to un mein se har ek ki imam ke sath do do rakat ho gayi, aur ek bar Aap ne Bani Salim ki sar zamin mein ( bhi ) khouf ki namaz padhi.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِعُسْفَانَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الظُّهْرِ وَعَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَقَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ لَقَدْ أَصَبْنَا مِنْهُمْ غِرَّةً وَلَقَدْ أَصَبْنَا مِنْهُمْ غَفْلَةً . فَنَزَلَتْ - يَعْنِي صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ - بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الْعَصْرِ فَفَرَّقَنَا فِرْقَتَيْنِ فِرْقَةً تُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَفِرْقَةً يَحْرُسُونَهُ فَكَبَّرَ بِالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَالَّذِينَ يَحْرُسُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ فَرَكَعَ هَؤُلاَءِ وَأُولَئِكَ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَتَأَخَّرَ هَؤُلاَءِ وَالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَتَقَدَّمَ الآخَرُونَ فَسَجَدُوا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ جَمِيعًا الثَّانِيَةَ بِالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ وَبِالَّذِينَ يَحْرُسُونَهُ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ بِالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ ثُمَّ تَأَخَّرُوا فَقَامُوا فِي مَصَافِّ أَصْحَابِهِمْ وَتَقَدَّمَ الآخَرُونَ فَسَجَدُوا ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَكَانَتْ لِكُلِّهِمْ رَكْعَتَانِ رَكْعَتَانِ مَعَ إِمَامِهِمْ وَصَلَّى مَرَّةً بِأَرْضِ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ .
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1551
Abu Bakrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led the people in offering the fear prayer, two rak'a. Then he said the taslim and led others in offering the fear prayer, then he said the taslim. So the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had prayed four rak'a.

ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے کچھ لوگوں کو خوف کی نماز دو رکعت پڑھائی، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیر دیا، پھر آپ نے دوسرے لوگوں کو دو رکعت پڑھائی، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیر دیا، تو نبی اکرم ﷺ نے چار رکعت پڑھی ( اور لوگوں نے دو دو رکعت ) ۔
Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ se riwayat hai ke Rasulullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ne kuchh logon ko khouf ki namaz do rakat padhai, phir aap ne salam phir diya, phir aap ne dusre logon ko do rakat padhai, phir aap ne salam phir diya, to Nabi Akram صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ne char rakat padhi ( aur logon ne do do rakat ) .
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى بِالْقَوْمِ فِي الْخَوْفِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالْقَوْمِ الآخَرِينَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَرْبَعًا .

Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led a group of his companions in praying two rak'a, then he said the taslim, then he led some others in praying two rak'a, then he said the taslim.

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہم سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے اپنے صحابہ میں سے ایک گروہ کو ( خوف کی نماز ) دو رکعت پڑھائی، پھر سلام پھیر دیا، پھر دوسرے لوگوں کو بھی آپ نے دو رکعت پڑھائی، پھر آپ نے سلام پھیرا۔
Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apne sahaba mein se ek goruh ko ( khouf ki namaz) do rakat padhai, phir salam phir dia, phir dusre logon ko bhi aap ne do rakat padhai, phir aap ne salam phir dia.
Sahl bin Abi Hathmah narrated concerning the fear prayer that the Imam should stand up facing the Qibla and some of them should stand with him while the others stand facing the enemy. Then he should pray one rak'a with them and they should pray another rak'a by themselves, and prostrate twice where they are. Then they should go to where the others are and the others should come and he should lead them in bowing once and prostrating twice, so it will be two rak'a for him and one for them. Then they should bow once and prostrate twice (by themselves, to make up the other rak'a)’.

سہل بن ابی حثمہ رضی اللہ عنہ نماز خوف کے سلسلہ میں کہتے ہیں امام قبلہ رو کھڑا ہو گا، اور اس کے لشکر میں سے ایک گروہ اس کے ساتھ کھڑا ہو گا، اور ایک گروہ دشمن کے سامنے رہے گا، ان کے چہرے دشمن کی طرف ہوں گے، پھر امام ان کے ساتھ ایک رکعت پڑھے گا، اور ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے وہ خود سے اپنی جگہوں پر کریں گے، اور ان لوگوں کی جگہ میں چلے جائیں گے، پھر وہ لوگ آئیں گے، تو امام ان کے ساتھ ( بھی ) ایک رکوع اور دو سجدے کرے گا، تو ( اس طرح ) اس کی دو رکعتیں ہوں گی، اور ان لوگوں کی ایک ہو گی، تو پھر یہ لوگ ایک ایک رکوع اور دو دو سجدے کریں گے۔
Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) namaz khouf ke silsile mein kehte hain Imam qibla ru khara hoga, aur uske lashkar mein se ek gurouh uske sath khara hoga, aur ek gurouh dushman ke samne rahega, un ke chehre dushman ki taraf honge, phir Imam un ke sath ek rakat padhega, aur ek rukoo aur do sajday woh khud se apni jagahon per karenge, aur un logoon ki jagah mein chale jayenge, phir woh log ayenge, to Imam un ke sath ( bhi ) ek rukoo aur do sajday karega, to ( is tarah ) is ki do rakatin hon gi, aur un logoon ki ek hogi, to phir yeh log ek ek rukoo aur do do sajday karenge.
Jabir bin Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) led his companions in offering the fear prayer. One group prayed with him while the other was facing the enemy. He led them in praying two rak'a, then they went and took the place of the others, and the others came and he led them in praying two rak'a, then he said the taslim.

Jaber bin Abdillah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apne sahaabah ko khouf ki namaz padhai, to ek garooh ne aap ke saath namaz padhi, aur ek garooh ke chehre dushman ke muqabil rahe, to aap ne unhen do rakat padhai, phir woh log uth kar dusre logoon ki jagah mein ja khade hue, aur dusre un ki jagah aa gaye to aap ne unhen (bhi) do rakat padhai, phir aap ne salam phir diya.
Abu Bakrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) offered the fear prayer with those who were behind him, praying two rak'a (with them) and two rak'a with those who came after them, so the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) prayed four rak'a and the others each prayed two rak'a.

ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے ان لوگوں کو جو آپ کے پیچھے تھے انہیں نماز خوف دو رکعت پڑھائی، اور جو اس کے بعد آئے انہیں بھی دو رکعت پڑھائی، تو ( اس طرح ) نبی اکرم ﷺ کی چار رکعت ہوئی، اور لوگوں کی دو دو رکعت ہوئی۔
Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ kehte hain ke Nabi-e-Akram صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ne un logoon ko jo aap ke pichhe the unhen namaz khouf do rakat padhai, aur jo is ke baad aaye unhen bhi do rakat padhai, to ( is tarah ) Nabi-e-Akram صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ki chaar rakat hui, aur logoon ki do do rakat hui.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَشْعَثُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ صَلَّى صَلاَةَ الْخَوْفِ بِالَّذِينَ خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالَّذِينَ جَاءُوا بَعْدُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَكَانَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَلِهَؤُلاَءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ .
