It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat 'Abd al-Rahman bin Hasnah. He said that I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a journey. We found some lizards. So, the cooking pots (with the lizards) began to boil. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "What is this?" We replied, "We found some lizards." You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Some people of the Children of Israel were transformed (into lizards). I fear that these might be them." The narrator says: So, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) overturned the cooking pots, while we were very hungry.
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن حسنہ سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہمراہ ایک سفر میں تھا۔ ہمیں کچھ گوہ ملیں۔ چنانچہ ہانڈیاں (گوہ کے ساتھ) اُبلنے لگیں۔ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھاـ۔ ” یہ کیا ہے ؟ “ ہم نے جواب دیا۔ ہمیں کچھ گوہ مل گیی تھیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا۔ ” بنی اسرائیل کے کچھ لوگ مسخ کر دئیے گئے تھے۔ مجھے ڈر ہے کہ یہ وہی نہ ہو۔ “ راوی کہتے ہیں۔ چنانچہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہانڈیوں کو الٹوا دیا جبکہ ہم سخت بھوکے تھے۔
Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Hasna se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke mein janab rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ke hamrah ek safar mein tha. Hamein kuchh goh mili. Chunancha handiyan (goh ke sath) ubalne lagi. Janab rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne poocha. "Yeh kya hai?" Humne jawab diya. Hamein kuchh goh mil gayi thi. Aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya. "Bani Israel ke kuchh log maskh kar diye gaye the. Mujhe dar hai ke yeh wohi na ho." Rawi kehte hain. Chunancha aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne handiyon ko ulatwa diya jabke hum sakht bhookhe the.
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about lizard, while he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was on the pulpit. So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'I do not eat it, nor do I declare it forbidden.'
حضرت ابن عمر سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سوال کیا گیا گوہ کے بارے میں جبکہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) منبرپر تھے ؟ تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” میں گوہ کو کھاتا ہوں اور نہ حرام کہتا ہوں۔ “
Hazrat Ibn Umar se riwayat hai. Woh kehte hain keh Janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se sawal kiya gaya goh ke bare mein jabkeh aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) mimbar par thay? To aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Main goh ko khata hun aur na haram kehta hun."
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: We live in a land that abounds in lizards. What do you command me? He (ﷺ) said: Some people among the children of Israel were transformed into beasts. I do not know into what beasts they were transformed. He (ﷺ) did not forbid him to eat it, nor did he forbid him to use its dung.
حضرت ابو سعید خدری سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت اقدس میں ایک آدمی حاضر ہوا اور اس نے عرض کیا۔ ہم لوگ ایسی زمین میں رہائش پذیر ہیں جہاں گوہ بہت زیادہ ہیں۔ پس آپ مجھے کیا حکم دیتے ہیں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” بنی اسرائیل میں سے کچھ لوگ جانوروں کی طرف مسخ کئے گئے تھے۔ مجھے معلوم نہیں کہ وہ کن جانوروں کی طرف مسخ ہوئے تھے ۔ “ پس آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کو نہ کھانے کا حکم دیا اور نہ اس کو گوہ سے منع فرمایا۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke Janab Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat e aqdas mein ek aadmi hazir hua aur usne arz kiya. Hum log aisi zameen mein rahaish pazir hain jahan goh bohat zyada hain. Pas aap mujhe kya hukum dete hain? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: “Bani Israel mein se kuch log janwaron ki taraf masak kiye gaye the. Mujhe maloom nahi ke woh kin janwaron ki taraf masak huye the.” Pas aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne usko na khane ka hukum diya aur na usko goh se mana farmaya.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Thabit bin Wadi'ah. He says that a lizard was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A nation was transformed." And Allah knows best.
حضرت ثابت بن ودیعہ سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پاس ایک گوہ لائی گئی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” ایک قوم مسخ ہوئی تھی۔ “ واللہ اعلم۔ “
Hazrat Sabit bin Waziha se riwayat hai. Woh kahte hain ke Janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke paas ek gooh laayi gayi to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Ek qaum masak ho gayi thi." Wallahu a'lam.
Hazrat Aswad narrates from Hazrat Aisha that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was gifted beef, but he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not eat from it. Hazrat Aisha says, I asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), should I not feed this to the beggars?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Feed the beggars what you yourself eat."
حضرت اسود ، حضرت عائشہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو گوہ ہدیہ کی گئی لیکن آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس میں سے نہ کھایا۔ حضرت عائشہ کہتی ہیں۔ میں نے عرض کیا۔ یا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کیا میں یہ مانگنے والوں کو نہ کھلا دوںـ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” تم مانگنے والوں کو بھی وہی کھلاؤ جو تم خود کھاتی ہو۔ “
Hazrat Aswad, Hazrat Aisha se riwayat karte hain kahte hain ke janab rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ko goah hadiya ki gai lekin aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne is mein se na khaya. Hazrat Aisha kahti hain. Main ne arz kiya. Ya rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) kya main ye mangne walon ko na khila dun? Aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya: "Tum mangne walon ko bhi wohi khilao jo tum khud khati ho."
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Maymunah, the honorable wife of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She says that we were gifted a calf. I prepared it. Then two people from Hazrat Maymunah's tribe came to her, so Hazrat Maymunah presented this calf to them as a gift. Meanwhile, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came inside while these two gentlemen were eating (it). So you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed your blessed hand and then lifted it. On this, both of them put down the morsel that was in their hands. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to both of them: "You eat. Because you two are from Najd. You eat this. But we are people of Medina. We are disgusted by it."
جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی زوجہ محترمہ حضرت میمونہ سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتی ہیں کہ ہمیں ہدیہ میں ایک گوہ دی گئی۔ میں نے اس کو تیار کیا۔ پھر حضرت میمونہ کے پاس ان کی قوم کے دو افراد آئے تو حضرت میمونہ نے یہ گوہ ان کو تحفۃً پیش کردی۔ اس دوران جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اندر تشریف لائے جبکہ یہ دونوں حضرات (اس کو) کھا رہے تھے۔ پس آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنا ہاتھ مبارک رکھا پھر اس کو اٹھا لیا۔ اس پر ان دونوں کے ہاتھ میں جو لقمہ تھا اس کو انھوں نے نیچے رکھ دیا۔ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان دونوں سے فرمایا : ” تم کھاؤ۔ کیونکہ تم دونوں اہل نجد ہو۔ تم اس کو کھاتے ہو۔ لیکن ہم اہل مدینہ ہیں۔ ہمیں اس سے گھن آتی ہے۔ “
Janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki zojain muhtarma Hazrat Maimoona se riwayat hai. Woh kehtein hain ke humein hadiya mein ek ghoh di gai. Maine usko taiyar kiya. Phir Hazrat Maimoona ke paas un ki qaum ke do afraad aaye to Hazrat Maimoona ne yeh ghoh unko tohfatun pesh kardi. Is dauran Janab Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) andar tashreef laaye jabke yeh donon hazrat (usko) kha rahe thay. Pas aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne apna haath mubarak rakha phir usko utha liya. Is par in donon ke haath mein jo luqma tha usko unhon ne neeche rakh diya. Janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne in donon se farmaya: “Tum khao. Kyunki tum donon ahl-e-najd ho. Tum usko khate ho. Lekin hum ahl-e-Madina hain. Humein us se ghin aati hai.”
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub that he said that a villager came to the service of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at a time when you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were delivering a sermon. He interrupted your sermon and asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! What do you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say about lizard?" You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A group of Israelites was metamorphosed. I do not know into what animal they were turned into."
حضرت سمرہ بن جندب سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دیہاتی نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں اس وقت حاضر ہوا ۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خطبہ ارشاد فرما رہے تھے۔ اس نے آپ کے خطبہ کو کاٹ کر پوچھا۔ یا رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) گوہ کے بارے میں کیا کہتے ہیں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گروہ مسخ کردیا گیا تھا۔ مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ وہ کون سے جانور کی طرف مسخ ہوا ہے۔ “
Hazrat Samra bin Jundub se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke ek dehati Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein us waqt hazir hua jab aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) khutba irshad farma rahe thay. Usne aapke khutba ko kaat kar poocha, Ya Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)! Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) goh ke bare mein kya kehte hain? Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: Bani Israel ka ek giroh maskh kar diya gaya tha. Mujhe nahin maloom ke woh kause janwar ki taraf maskh hua.
It is narrated by Hazrat Yazid bin Asam. He says that we had an invitation in a Walima in Madinah. We were served thirteen lizards. Then some people ate and some did not eat. Then I met Hazrat Ibn Abbas the next day and I told him this. Many people were around Hazrat Ibn Abbas, some of them said. Sir, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor forbid it, I neither make it lawful nor do I declare it unlawful." On this Hazrat Ibn Abbas said: You have spoken wrong. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sent as the one who makes lawful and unlawful. Once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was with Hazrat Maymunah and you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also had Hazrat Fazal bin Abbas, Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed and another woman. A table was brought to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on which there was meat. When you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to eat it, Hazrat Maymunah said to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). This is lizard meat. On this you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stopped your hand and said. "I will never eat this meat." And said to the people. "You eat." So Hazrat Fazal ibn Abbas, Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed and the woman ate it. And Hazrat Maymunah said: I will eat what you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) eat.
حضرت یزید بن اصم سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہمیں مدینہ میں ایک ولیمہ میں دعوت تھی۔ ہمیں تیرہ عد د گوہ پیش کی گئیں۔ پس کچھ لوگوں نے کھا لیں اور کچھ نے نہ کھائیں۔ پھر میں اگلے دن حضرت ابن عباس سے ملا اور میں نے انھیں یہ بات بتائی۔ بہت سے لوگ حضرت ابن عباس کے گرد تھے ان میں سے کچھ نے کہا۔ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” میں اس کو کھاتا ہوں اور نہ اس سے منع کرتا ہوں، میں اس کو حلال کرتا ہوں اور نہ ہی اس کو حرام قرار دیتا ہوں۔ “ اس پر حضرت ابن عباس نے فرمایا : تم نے بُری گفتگو کی ہے۔ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی تو بعثت ہی حلال اور حرام کرنے والے کے طور پر ہوئی تھی۔ ایک مرتبہ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) حضرت میمونہ کے پاس تھے اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ہاں حضرت فضل بن عباس، حضرت خالد بن ولید اور ایک دوسری عورت بھی تھی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف دسترخوان بڑھایا گیا جس پر گوشت تھا۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے (اس کو) کھانے کا ارادہ کیا تو حضرت میمونہ نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کہا۔ یہ گوہ کا گوشت ہے۔ اس پر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنا ہاتھ روک لیا اور فرمایا۔ ” میں یہ گوشت کبھی نہیں کھاؤں گا “۔ اور لوگوں سے کہا۔ ” تم کھاؤ۔ “ چنانچہ حضرت فضل ابن عباس ، حضرت خالد بن ولید اور اس عورت نے (اس کو) کھایا۔ اور حضرت میمونہ نے فرمایا : میں تو اس چیز کو کھاؤں گی جس کو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تناول فرمائیں گے۔
Hazrat Yazid bin Asam se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke hamein Madina mein ek walima mein dawat thi. Hamein terah adad ghoh pesh ki gayin. Pas kuch logon ne kha liya aur kuch ne na khayen. Phir mein agle din Hazrat Ibn Abbas se mila aur maine unhein yeh baat batai. Bahut se log Hazrat Ibn Abbas ke gird the un mein se kuch ne kaha. Janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Mein iss ko khata hun aur na iss se mana karta hun, mein iss ko halal karta hun aur na hi iss ko haram qarar deta hun." Iss par Hazrat Ibn Abbas ne farmaya: Tum ne buri guftgu ki hai. Janab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki to baasat hi halal aur haram karne wale ke tor par hui thi. Ek martaba Janab Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Hazrat Maimoona ke pass the aur Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke yahan Hazrat Fazal bin Abbas, Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed aur ek dusri aurat bhi thi. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki taraf dastarkhwan barhaya gaya jiss par gosht tha. Jab Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne (iss ko) khane ka irada kiya to Hazrat Maimoona ne Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se kaha. Yeh ghoh ka gosht hai. Iss par Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne apna hath rok liya aur farmaya. "Mein yeh gosht kabhi nahin khaunga". Aur logon se kaha. "Tum khao". Chunanche Hazrat Fazal bin Abbas, Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed aur iss aurat ne (iss ko) khaya. Aur Hazrat Maimoona ne farmaya: Mein to iss cheez ko khaungi jisko Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) tanavil farmayenge.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Zubayr bin 'Awam that a roasted wild cow was given as a gift to Hazrat Shaqeeq bin Salamah and I also ate from it.
حضرت زبرقان سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت شقیق بن سلمہ کو بھنی ہوئی گوہ ہدیہ کی گئی اور میں نے بھی اس میں سے کھایا۔
Hazrat Zabarqan se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke Hazrat Shaqiq bin Salma ko bhuni hui gawh hadiya ki gayi aur maine bhi us mein se khaya.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abraham that he said that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out on a journey. In it, the Companions were very hungry. So a man came to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he had many lizards. He gave those lizards as a gift to you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked at them and said: "A group of the Children of Israel were transformed into beasts of the earth." So you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) neither ate them yourself nor did you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbid them.
حضرت ابراہیم سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک سفر پر نکلے ۔ اس میں صحابہ کرام کو سخت بھوک نے آلیا۔ پس ایک صاحب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور ان کے پاس بہت سی گوہ تھیں۔ انھوں نے وہ گوہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو ہدیہ کردیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کی طرف دیکھا اور فرمایا : ” بنو اسرائیل کا ایک طبقہ زمین کے جانوروں میں مسخ ہوگیا تھاْ ‘ چنانچہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کو نہ خود کھایا اور نہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان سے منع کیا۔
Hazrat Ibrahim se riwayat hai woh kehte hain keh janab Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ek safar par nikle is mein sahaba kiram ko sakht bhook ne aaliya pas ek sahab aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur unke pass bahut si gawain thin unhon ne woh gawain aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ko hadiya kar din aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne unki taraf dekha aur farmaya Bani Israel ka ek tabqa zameen ke janwaron mein maskh ho gaya tha chunancha aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne unko na khud khaya aur na aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne unse mana kiya
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smelled the lizard, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) allowed the people to eat it.
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن ابی لیلیٰ سے روایت ہے کہ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے گوہ کی بُو محسوس کی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لوگوں کو اس کے کھانے کی اجازت دے دی۔
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila se riwayat hai keh janab nabi kareem (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne goh ki bu mehsoos ki to aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne logon ko us ke khanay ki ijazat de di.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ziyad bin Alakah that Hazrat Umar saw a man with a beautiful body, so you asked him or he told you. Said. This size is due to the lizard. On this Hazrat Umar said. I like the fact that there are two lizards in every lizard hole.
حضرت زیاد بن علاقہ سے روایت ہے۔ کہ حضرت عمر نے ایک خوبصورت جسم والے شخص کو دیکھا تو آپ نے اس کو پوچھا یا اس نے آپ کو بتایا۔ کہا۔ یہ جسامت گوہ کی وجہ سے ہے۔ اس پر حضرت عمر نے فرمایا۔ مجھے یہ بات پسند ہے کہ ہر گوہ کے سوراخ میں دو گوہ ہوں۔
Hazrat Ziyad bin Alaqa se riwayat hai keh Hazrat Umar ne ek khoobsurat jism wale shakhs ko dekha to aap ne us ko poocha ya us ne aap ko bataya kaha yeh jisamat goh ki wajah se hai is par Hazrat Umar ne farmaya mujhe yeh baat pasand hai keh har goh ke suraakh mein do goh hon
Hazrat Hisham narrates from his father that he said, "It was asked to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding lizard? So you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Neither I eat it, nor I declare it forbidden.'"
حضرت ہشام، اپنے والد سے روایت کرتے ہیں، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے گوہ کے بارے میں سوال کیا گیا ؟ تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” نہ میں اس کو کھاتا ہوں اور نہ میں اس کو حرام قرار دیتا ہوں۔ “

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Nadra, he said that Hazrat Umar said, "Allah Almighty gives benefit through lizard. This is the food of ordinary shepherds. And if it were available to me, I would also eat it."
حضرت ابو نضرہ سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر نے فرمایا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ گوہ کے ذریعہ نفع دیتے ہیں۔ یہ عام چرواہوں کا کھانا ہے۔ اور اگر یہ میرے پاس دستیاب ہوتی تو میں بھی اس کو کھاتا۔
Hazrat Abu Nazra se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Umar ne farmaya. Allah Ta'ala goh ke zariye nafa dete hain. Yeh aam charwahon ka khana hai. Aur agar yeh mere paas dastyab hoti to main bhi is ko khata.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Saad bin Ma'adh that he said that Hazrat Umar saw a fat man of the Muhaarib tribe in the year of famine, so you asked him what is your food? He replied. Goo. Hazrat Umar said: I love it that there should be two lizards in every hole of the lizard.
حضرت سعد بن معبد سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر نے قحط کے سال محارب قبیلہ کے ایک موٹے آدمی کو دیکھا تو آپ نے پوچھا تمہارا کھانا کیا ہے ؟ اس نے بتایا۔ گوہ ۔ حضرت عمر نے فرمایا : مجھے یہ بات محبوب ہے کہ گوہ کے ہر سوراخ میں دو گوہ ہوں۔
Hazrat Saad bin Maaz se riwayat hai, woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Umar ne qaht ke saal Muhaarib qabeele ke ek mote aadmi ko dekha to aap ne poocha tumhara khana kya hai? Usne bataya. Goh. Hazrat Umar ne farmaya: Mujhe yeh baat mahboob hai ke goh ke har soorakh mein do goh hon.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Sha'bi that he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about cow dung. So you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is permissible. There is no problem in it. But I feel disgusted by it.”
حضرت شعبی سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے گوہ کے بارے میں سوال کیا گیا ؟ تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ارشاد فرمایا : ” وہ حلال ہے۔ اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے۔ لیکن مجھے اس سے گھن آتی ہے۔ “
Hazrat Shabi se riwayat hai. Wo kehte hain ke janab Rasul Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) se goh ke bare mein sawal kiya gaya? To aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne irshad farmaya: "Wo halal hai. Is mein koi harj nahi hai. Lekin mujhe is se ghin aati hai."
Abu Al-Minhal narrated from his paternal uncle: I asked Abu Huraira about eating lizard. He replied, "I neither eat it nor forbid it."
حضرت ابو المنہال ، اپنے چچا سے روایت کرتے ہیں۔ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ابوہریرہ سے گوہ کے بارے میں سوال کیا ؟ انھوں نے جواب میں فرمایا : نہ میں اس کو کھاتا ہوں اور نہ ہی اس سے روکتا ہوں۔
Hazrat Abu Al Munhal apne chacha se riwayat karte hain kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Abu Huraira se goh ke bare mein sawal kiya unhon ne jawab mein farmaya na mein is ko khata hun aur na hi is se rokta hun
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Layla that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smelled the smell of lizard. So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I" or he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "We belong to that nation who do not eat it." And he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave permission to the people to eat it.
حضرت عبد الرحمن بن ابی لیلیٰ سے روایت ہے کہ جناب نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے گوہ کی بُو محسوس کی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” میں “ یا فرمایا ” ہم اس قوم سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں جو اس کو نہیں کھاتی ۔ “ اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لوگوں کو اس کی اجازت عنایت فرما دی۔
Hazrat Abdur Rehman bin Abi Laila se riwayat hai ke janab nabi kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne goh ki boo mehsoos ki to aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "mein" ya farmaya "hum iss qaum se taluq rakhte hain jo iss ko nahi khati." Aur aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne logon ko iss ki ijazat inayat farma di.
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abd al-A'la. He said: I asked Hadrat Ibn al-Hanafiyyah about mushrooms. So he said: If you like it then you may eat it.
حضرت عبد الاعلیٰ سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ابن الحنفیہ سے سوال کیا گوہ کے بارے میں ؟ تو انھوں نے فرمایا۔ اگر وہ تمہیں پسند ہے تو تم اس کو کھالو۔
Hazrat Abdul Aala se riwayat hai. Woh kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Ibne Hanfia se sawal kiya goh ke baare mein? To unhon ne farmaya. Agar woh tumhein pasand hai to tum usko khalo.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Asma bin Rabi. He says that we people went to Hazrat Umar. We were a few people who were in very good condition. It is said that Hazrat Umar asked, "What is your food?" We said: "Meat." The narrator says, "On this Hazrat Umar said, 'It is sufficient for you.' We said: "Yes!" On this, he said, "I like that every piece of meat should have its equal (another piece of meat)."
حضرت عصمہ بن ربعی سے روایت ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم لوگ حضرت عمر کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ۔ ہم کچھ لوگ تھے جن کی حالت بہت اچھی تھی۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر نے پوچھا۔ تمہاری خوراک کیا ہے ؟ ہم نے کہا : گوہ۔ راوی کہتے ہیں۔ اس پر حضرت عمر نے فرمایا : وہ تمہں ا کفایت کر جاتی ہے۔ ہم نے کہا : جی ہاں ! اس پر آپ نے فرمایا : مجھے یہ بات محبوب ہے کہ ہر ایک گوہ کے ساتھ اس کا مثل (ایک اور گوہ) ہو۔
Hazrat Asma bin Rubai se riwayat hai. Woh kehte hain ke hum log Hazrat Umar ki khidmat mein hazir hue. Hum kuch log thay jin ki halat bohat achi thi. Faramate hain ke Hazrat Umar ne poocha. Tumhari khuraak kya hai? Hum ne kaha: Goh. Rawi kehte hain. Is par Hazrat Umar ne farmaya: Woh tumhen kafiyat kar jati hai. Hum ne kaha: Ji haan! Is par aap ne farmaya: Mujhe yeh baat mahboob hai ke har ek goh ke saath is ka misl (ek aur goh) ho.
Thaabit ibn Yazid al-Ansari narrated that: We were with the Prophet ﷺ and the people found a dhubb (a type of lizard) and cooked it. I got a dhubb from it and roasted it, then I brought it to the Prophet ﷺ. He took a small branch and began to count his fingers with it, and said: “Verily, a nation among the Children of Israel were transformed into beasts that crawl on the earth, and I do not know, perhaps this is one of them.” I said: “The people have already cooked it and eaten it.” He did not eat and he did not forbid it.
ثابت بن یزید انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ہم نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ تھے کہ لوگوں کو ایک دھب (چھپکلی کی ایک قسم) ملا اور انہوں نے اسے پکا لیا۔ میں نے اس میں سے ایک دھب لیا اور اسے بھون لیا، پھر میں اسے نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں لایا۔ آپ ﷺ نے ایک چھوٹی سی ٹہنی لی اور اس سے اپنی انگلیاں گننے لگے اور فرمایا: "بے شک بنی اسرائیل میں سے ایک قوم کو ایسے جانوروں میں تبدیل کر دیا گیا تھا جو زمین پر رینگتے ہیں، اور مجھے نہیں معلوم، شاید یہ انہی میں سے ہو۔" میں نے کہا: "لوگ اسے پہلے ہی پکا چکے ہیں اور کھا چکے ہیں۔" آپ ﷺ نے نہ تو خود کھایا اور نہ ہی اس سے منع فرمایا۔
Sabit bin Yazid Ansari Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain ki hum Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke sath the ke logon ko ek dhab (chipkali ki ek qisam) mila aur unhon ne use pakka liya. Main ne is mein se ek dhab liya aur use bhoon liya, phir main use Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki khidmat mein laya. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne ek chhoti si tahni li aur us se apni ungliyan ginne lage aur farmaya: "Be shak Bani Israeel mein se ek qaum ko aise janwaron mein tabdeel kar diya gaya tha jo zameen par rengte hain, aur mujhe nahin maloom, shayad ye unhi mein se ho." Main ne kaha: "Log ise pehle hi pakka chuke hain aur kha chuke hain." Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne na to khud khaya aur na hi is se mana farmaya.
