It is narrated from a man of Banu Aamir that he said: Hazrat Ali (RA) said: I fear only two things for you: Long hopes, and following desires. Because having long hopes makes one forget the hereafter. And following desires becomes a hindrance to the truth. Indeed, the world is turning its back and leaving, and the hereafter is coming. And each of them has children. So be the children of the hereafter. So today is for action, not for accountability, and tomorrow will be for accountability, not for action.
بنو عامر کے ایک صاحب سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) نے ارشاد فرمایا : مجھے تم پر صرف دو چیزوں کا خوف ہے۔ لمبی امید، اور خواہشات کی پیروی۔ کیونکہ امید کا لمبا ہونا آخرت کو بھلا دیتا ہے۔ اور خواہشات کی اتباع، حق بات سے رکاوٹ بن جاتی ہے۔ یقیناً دنیا پیٹھ پھیر کر کوچ کرجاتی ہے اور آخرت آرہی ہے۔ اور ان میں سے ہر ایک کے بیٹے ہیں۔ پس تم لوگ آخرت کے بیٹے بنو۔ پس آج عمل ہے، حساب نہیں ہے اور کل حساب ہوگا عمل نہیں ہوگا۔
Bano Aamir ke aik sahab se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) ne irshad farmaya: Mujhe tum par sirf do cheezon ka khauf hai. Lambi umeed, aur khwahishat ki pairavi. Kyunke umeed ka lamba hona aakhirat ko bhula deta hai. Aur khwahishat ki ittiba, haq baat se rukawat ban jati hai. Yaqeenan dunya peeth phair kar کوچ karjati hai aur aakhirat aa rahi hai. Aur in mein se har aik ke bete hain. Pas tum log aakhirat ke bete bano. Pas aaj amal hai, hisab nahi hai aur kal hisab hoga amal nahi hoga.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hassan that he said that Hazrat Ali said: Every unknown person who knows people but people do not know him is a glad tiding. And Allah Almighty knows him with His pleasure. These are the lamps of guidance. Every dark fitnah is removed by them and Allah Almighty admits them into His mercy. These people are not revealers of secrets, nor are they oppressors or hypocrites.
حضرت حسن سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی نے فرمایا : ہر غیر معروف آدمی کے لیے بشارت ہے جو لوگوں کو تو پہچانتا ہے لیکن لوگ اس کو نہیں پہچانتے۔ اور اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو اپنی رضا کے ساتھ پہچانتے ہیں۔ یہی لوگ ہدایت کے چراغ ہیں۔ ان سے ہر اندھیرا فتنہ دور کردیا جاتا ہے اور ان کو اللہ تعالیٰ اپنی رحمت میں داخل کرلیتا ہے۔ یہ لوگ کے راز ظاہر کرنے والے نہیں ہوتے اور نہ جفا کرنے اور ریا کاری کرنے والے۔
Hazrat Hassan se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali ne farmaya: Har ghair maloom aadmi ke liye basharat hai jo logon ko to pehchanta hai lekin log us ko nahi pehchante. Aur Allah Ta'ala us ko apni raza ke sath pehchante hain. Yahi log hidayat ke charagh hain. In se har andhera fitna door kar diya jata hai aur in ko Allah Ta'ala apni rehmat mein dakhil kar leta hai. Yeh log ke raaz zahir karne wale nahi hote aur na jafa karne aur riya kari karne wale.
It is narrated from Hazrat Zubair that he said: Hazrat Ali (R.A.) said: The best of people are the moderate ones. Those who are behind catch up with them, and those who are ahead return to them.
حضرت زبید سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) نے ارشاد فرمایا : لوگوں میں سے بہترین یہ درمیانے لوگ ہیں۔ پیچھے والے ان سے مل جاتے ہیں اور آگے والے ان کی طرف لوٹ آتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Zaid se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) ne irshad farmaya: Logon mein se behtarin yeh darmiyanay log hain. Peeche walay in se mil jatay hain aur aage walay in ki taraf laut aatay hain.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ata bin Abi Rabah that he said that when Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib used to send out an army, he would appoint a man in charge of it and would advise him, saying: I advise you to fear Allah. You will surely meet Him, and there is no escape from Him after that. He is the Master of this world and the Hereafter. So, you must do what brings you closer to Allah because whoever has Allah, has everything, even more than the wealth of this world.
حضرت عطاء بن ابی رباح سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی بن ابی طالب جب کوئی سریہ روانہ فرماتے تو اس پر کسی آدمی کو متولی بناتے اور اس کو وصیت کرتے۔ فرماتے : میں تمہیں اللہ سے ڈرنے کی وصیت کرتا ہوں۔ تمہیں اللہ سے ضرور ملنا ہے اور اس سے پیچھے تمہارے لیے منتہی کوئی نہیں ہے۔ وہی دنیا، آخرت کا مالک ہے اور تم ضرور وہ کام کرو جو تمہیں اللہ کے قریب کرے کیونکہ جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ دنیا کے مال کا بھی خلیفہ ہے۔
Hazrat Ata bin Abi Rabah se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib jab koi sariya rawana farmate to us par kisi aadmi ko mutawalee banate aur us ko wasiyat karte. Farmate: mein tumhein Allah se darne ki wasiyat karta hun. Tumhein Allah se zaroor milna hai aur us se peechhe tumhare liye muntahi koi nahin hai. Wahi duniya, aakhirat ka malik hai aur tum zaroor woh kaam karo jo tumhein Allah ke qareeb kare kyunki jo kuchh Allah ke pass hai woh duniya ke maal ka bhi khalifa hai.
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Wahab that Nae'j objected to the clothing of Hazrat Ali (R.A), so he (R.A) said: A believer humbles himself (outwardly) while his heart remains content (with Allah).
حضرت زید بن وہب سے روایت ہے کہ نعجہ نے حضرت علی (رض) کے لباس کے بارے میں اعتراض کیا تو آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : مومن اقتداء کرتا ہے اور قلب خشوع کرتا ہے۔
Hazrat Zaid bin Wahab se riwayat hai keh Nujah ne Hazrat Ali (RA) ke libas ke baare mein ehtraaz kya to aap (RA) ne farmaya: Momin iqtida karta hai aur qalb khushoo karta hai.
Narrated by Hazrat Amr bin Murrah, Hazrat Abu Saleh (R.A) - who was in the service of Hazrat Umme Kulthum (R.A), daughter of Hazrat Ali (R.A) - He said, I went to Hazrat Umme Kulthum (R.A) while she was combing her hair. I sat down waiting for her until she gave me permission (to talk). Hazrat Hassan (R.A) and Hazrat Hussain (R.A) came to her while she was still combing her hair. They asked, "Didn't you feed Abu Saleh?" She said, "Yes, I did." The narrator said, then she brought out a bowl that contained broth with grains in it. I said, "You people are from the family of the Prophet (S.A.W) and you feed me this?" Upon this, Hazrat Umme Kulthum (R.A) replied, "O Abu Saleh! Then what are you if you consider the family of the Prophet (S.A.W) rich?" When dates were brought, Hazrat Hassan (R.A) or Hazrat Hussain (R.A) tried to pick a date, but Hazrat Ali (R.A) took it from his hand and said, "Distribute it." Then the dates were distributed.
٣٥٦٤٢) حضرت عمرو بن مرہ، حضرت ابوصالح ۔۔۔ جو حضرت علی کی بیٹی حضرت ام کلثوم (رض) کی خدمت کرتے تھے ۔۔۔ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ انھوں نے فرمایا : میں حضرت ام کلثوم کے پاس حاضر ہوا وہ کنگھی کررہی تھیں۔ چنانچہ میں بیٹھ کر ان کا انتظار کرنے لگا یہاں تک کہ انھوں نے مجھے اجازت دی۔ حضرت حسن اور حضرت حسین (رض) تشریف لائے۔ جبکہ وہ کنگھی کررہی تھیں۔ انھوں نے پوچھا : کیا تم نے ابوصالح کو کھانا نہیں کھلایا ؟ حضرت ام کلثوم نے فرمایا : کیوں نہیں۔ راوی کہتے ہیں پھر انھوں نے ایک پیالہ نکالا جس میں شوربہ میں دانے ڈالے ہوئے تھے۔ میں نے کہا : تم لوگ امراء ہو اور مجھے یہ کھانا کھلاتے ہو ؟ اس پر حضرت ام کلثوم نے فرمایا : اے ابوصالح ! اگر تم امیر المومنین کو دیکھ لو تو پھر تم کیسے ہو ؟ مالٹے لائے گئے تو حضرت حسن یا حضرت حسین ان سے مالٹا لینے لگے تو حضرت علی (رض) نے ان کے ہاتھ سے مالٹا چھین لیا پھر تقسیم کرنے کا کہا چنانچہ وہ تقسیم کردیا گیا۔
35642) Hazrat Amr bin Murrah, Hazrat Abu Saleh jo Hazrat Ali ki beti Hazrat Umme Kulsoom (RA) ki khidmat karte thay se riwayat karte hain ke unhon ne farmaya: main Hazrat Umme Kulsoom ke paas hazir hua woh kanghi kar rahi thin. Chunancha main beth kar unka intezar karne laga yahan tak ke unhon ne mujhe ijazat di. Hazrat Hassan aur Hazrat Hussain (RA) tashreef laye. Jabke woh kanghi kar rahi thin. Unhon ne poocha: kya tum ne Abu Saleh ko khana nahin khilaya? Hazrat Umme Kulsoom ne farmaya: kyun nahin. Rawi kahte hain phir unhon ne ek piyala nikala jis mein shorba mein daane dale hue thay. Maine kaha: tum log umara ho aur mujhe yeh khana khilate ho? Is par Hazrat Umme Kulsoom ne farmaya: aye Abu Saleh! Agar tum ameer-ul-momineen ko dekh lo to phir tum kaise ho? Malta laye gaye to Hazrat Hassan ya Hazrat Hussain un se malta lene lage to Hazrat Ali (RA) ne un ke hath se malta chhen liya phir taqseem karne ka kaha chunancha woh taqseem kar diya gaya.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakhtari that he said that Hazrat Ali (R.A) said to his mother Fatima bint Asad, "O Fatima! You suffice Fatima bint Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the outside services like bringing water, etc. She will suffice you in the household chores like kneading dough, baking bread and grinding grain, etc."
حضرت ابوالبختری سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) نے اپنی والدہ فاطمہ بنت اسد سے کہا۔ آپ فاطمہ بنت محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو باہر کی خدمت پانی لانا وغیرہ سے کافی ہوجائیں۔ وہ آپ کو گھر کے کام سے آٹا گوندھنا، روٹی پکانا اور چکی چلانا وغیرہ سے کفایت کرلیں گی۔
Hazrat Abu Bakhtari se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) ne apni walida Fatima bint Asad se kaha, Aap Fatima bint Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko bahar ki khidmat pani lana waghaira se kaafi hojaen woh aap ko ghar ke kaam se aata gondhna roti pakana aur chakki chalana waghaira se kifayat karlengi.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (R.A) that he said that the night Hazrat Fatima (R.A) was given to me in marriage, there was only a mat of date palm leaves under us.
حضرت علی (رض) سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں جس رات حضرت فاطمہ مجھے ہدیہ کی گئیں اس رات ہمارے نیچے صرف مینڈھے کی کھال تھی۔
Hazrat Ali (RA) se riwayat hai woh kehte hain jis raat Hazrat Fatima mujhe hadiya ki gayin us raat humare neeche sirf mendhe ki khaal thi.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Ishaq, that he said that Hazrat Ali (R.A) said: There are a few things, that if you were to ride on mounts, you would destroy the mounts before finding the likes of these things. A servant should not hope from anyone except his Lord. A servant should only fear his sin. A man who does not know should not be shy of asking, and when a man is asked about something he does not know, he should not be shy of saying Allah knows best. And know that the status of patience in faith is like the status of the head in the body. So when the head is gone, the body is gone, and when patience is gone, faith is gone.
حضرت ابواسحاق سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) نے ارشاد فرمایا : چند باتیں ایسی ہیں کہ اگر تم سواریوں کو چلاؤ تو تم ان باتوں کی مثل پانے سے قبل سواریوں کو ہلاک وفنا کردو گے۔ بندہ اپنے پروردگار کے سوا کسی سے امید نہ رکھے۔ بندہ صرف اپنے گناہ سے ڈرے۔ جو آدمی نہ جانتا ہو وہ جاننے سے حیا نہ کرے اور جب آدمی سے غیر معلوم بات کا سوال ہو تو اس کو اللہ اعلم کہنے سے حیا نہیں آنی چاہیے۔ اور یہ بات جان لو کہ صبر کا ایمان میں وہی مقام ہے جو جسم میں سر کا ہے۔ پس جب سر چلا جاتا ہے تو جسم چلا جاتا ہے اور جب صبر چلا جاتا ہے تو ایمان چلا جاتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Ishaq se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) ne irshad farmaya : Chand baatein aisi hain ke agar tum sawariyon ko chalao to tum in baaton ki misl paane se pehle sawariyon ko halaak o fana kar do ge. Banda apne parvardigaar ke siwa kisi se umeed na rakhe. Banda sirf apne gunah se dare. Jo aadmi na janta ho woh jaanne se haya na kare aur jab aadmi se ghair malum baat ka sawal ho to usko Allah Aalim kehne se haya nahi aani chahiye. Aur yeh baat jaan lo ke sabar ka imaan mein wohi maqaam hai jo jism mein sar ka hai. Pas jab sar chala jata hai to jism chala jata hai aur jab sabar chala jata hai to imaan chala jata hai.
It is narrated from Hazrat Adi bin Thabit that he said that when a bowl of falooda was brought to Hazrat Ali (R.A.) on the dining sheet, he did not eat anything from it.
حضرت عدی بن ثابت سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت علی (رض) کے پاس دستر خوان پر فالودہ کا طشت لایا گیا تو آپ نے اس میں سے کچھ بھی نہیں کھایا۔
Hazrat Adi bin Sabit se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Ali (RA) ke pass dastarkhwan par falooda ka tasht laya gaya to aap ne us mein se kuchh bhi nahin khaya.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abu Al-Hajjaj, he says that I saw a shirt on Hazrat Ali (R.A) whose sleeve, when you left it, would reach half of your forearm, and when you pulled it, it would not exceed your nails.
حضرت ابن ابوالہذیل سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت علی (رض) پر ایک قمیص دیکھی جس کی آستین جب آپ چھوڑتے تو آپ کی نصف کلائی تک پہنچتی اور جب آپ اس کو کھینچتے تو آپ کے ناخن کو تجاوز نہ کرتی۔
Hazrat Ibn Abul Hazil se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Ali (RA) par ek qameez dekhi jis ki aasteen jab aap chhorte to aap ki nisf kalai tak pahunchti aur jab aap us ko khenchte to aap ke nakhun ko tajaawuz na karti.
It is narrated from Hazrat Zamra bin Habib that he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had decided on his daughter for the housework and on Hazrat Ali for the work outside the house.
حضرت ضمرہ بن حبیب سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جناب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنی بیٹی پر گھر کے کام کاج کا فیصلہ فرمایا تھا اور حضرت علی پر گھر سے باہر والا کام۔
Hazrat Zamra bin Habib se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke janab rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne apni beti par ghar ke kaam kaaj ka faisla farmaya tha aur Hazrat Ali par ghar se bahar wala kaam.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (R.A) that whoever is in Kufa is blessed with comfort and prosperity. Even the most humble person amongst them eats wheat, sits in the shade, and drinks the water of the Euphrates.
حضرت علی (رض) سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں جو بھی کوفہ میں ہے وہ ناز ونعم والا ہے۔ اور ان میں سے کم تر درجہ کا آدمی بھی گندم کھاتا ہے، سایہ میں بیٹھتا ہے اور فرات کا پانی پیتا ہے۔
Hazrat Ali (RA) se riwayat hai woh kehte hain jo bhi Kufa mein hai woh naaz o niamat wala hai. Aur un mein se kam tar darja ka aadmi bhi gehun khata hai, saya mein baithta hai aur Furat ka pani peeta hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Yazid bin Sharik that he said: One day I went out with my sword and said: Who will buy this sword of mine? If I had the money to spare, I would not sell this sword.
حضرت یزید بن شریک سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دن اپنی تلوار لے کر نکلے اور فرمایا : کون مجھ سے میری یہ تلوار خریدے گا ؟ اگر میرے پاس ازار کے پیسے ہوتے میں یہ تلوار نہ بیچتا۔
Hazrat Yazid bin Sharik se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke aik din apni talwar le kar nikle aur farmaya: Kaun mujh se meri yeh talwar kharede ga? Agar mere pass izaar ke paise hote main yeh talwar na bechta.
It is narrated on the authority of Umm 'Uthman, the daughter of 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), she said: I came to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and there was a heap of cloves in his courtyard. I said: O Commander of the Faithful! Give my daughter a necklace from these cloves as a gift. 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said thus and struck his both hands. Bring a good dirham closer because it is the wealth of the Muslims. Otherwise, be patient until we get our share from it, then we will give your daughter a gift from it.
حضرت علی (رض) کی ام ولد، ام عثمان سے روایت ہے وہ کہتی ہیں کہ میں حضرت علی (رض) کے پاس آئی اور ان کے سامنے صحن میں لونگ کا ڈھیر تھا۔ میں نے عرض کیا : اے امیر المومنین ! اس لونگ میں سے ایک ہار میری بیٹی کو ہدیہ کردیں۔ حضرت علی (رض) نے یوں فرمایا اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے ٹھونکا۔ ایک عمدہ درہم قریب کرو کیونکہ یہ مسلمانوں کا مال ہے۔ بصورت دیگر صبر کر یہاں تک کہ اس میں سے ہمیں ہمارا حصہ مل جائے پھر ہم اس میں سے تمہاری بیٹی کو ہدیہ کردیں گے۔
Hazrat Ali (RA) ki umm walad, Umm Usman se riwayat hai woh kehti hain keh main Hazrat Ali (RA) ke paas aai aur un ke samne sahan mein long ka dher tha. Main ne arz kiya: Aye Ameer-ul-Momineen! Iss long mein se aik haar meri beti ko hadiya kar dein. Hazrat Ali (RA) ne yun farmaya aur apne donon hathon se thonka. Aik umda dirham qareeb karo kyunki yeh musalmanon ka maal hai. Basurat-e-degar sabar karo yahan tak ke iss mein se humein hamara hissa mil jaye phir hum iss mein se tumhari beti ko hadiya karenge.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (R.A) that he said, the example of a person who combines the Quran and faith is like a sweet lime, which has a pleasant taste and a pleasant smell. And the example of a person who does not combine faith and the Quran is like a colocynth, its taste is bitter, and its smell is foul.
حضرت علی (رض) سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جو شخص قرآن اور ایمان کو جمع کرتا ہے اس کی مثال مالٹے کی طرح ہے جس کا ذائقہ بھی عمدہ اور خوشبو بھی عمدہ۔ اور جو شخص ایمان کو اور قرآن کو جمع نہیں کرتا اس کی مثال حنظل کی طرح ہے۔ ذائقہ بھی برا، بو بھی بری۔
Hazrat Ali (RA) se riwayat hai woh kehte hain keh jo shakhs Quran aur imaan ko jama karta hai us ki misaal maltay ki tarah hai jis ka zaiqa bhi umda aur khushbu bhi umda. Aur jo shakhs imaan ko aur Quran ko jama nahi karta us ki misaal hanzal ki tarah hai. Zaiqa bhi bura, boo bhi buri.
Someone asked Hazrat Ali (RA), "O Abu Al Hassan! Why do you frequent graveyards so often?" He (RA) replied, "I find them to be true friends. They discourage me from evil and remind me of the hereafter."
حضرت علی سے پوچھا گیا اے ابوالحسن ! کیا بات ہے کہ آپ قبرستان والوں کی مجاورت کرتے ہو ؟ آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : میں نے انھیں سچا دوست پایا ہے۔ یہ برائی سے روکتے اور آخرت یاد دلاتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Ali se poocha gaya ae Abu al Hasan! Kiya baat hai ke aap qabristan walon ki mujawarat karte ho? Aap (raz) ne farmaya: Main ne unhen sacha dost paya hai. Yeh burai se rokte aur akhirat yaad dilate hain.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that he said that Hazrat Fatima (R.A.) used to knead flour and the hair of her forehead used to fall into the dough vessel.
حضرت عطاء سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت فاطمہ (رض) آٹا گوندھا کرتی تھیں اور ان کی پیشانی کے بال آٹے کے برتن میں لگتے تھے۔
Hazrat Ata se riwayat hai woh kehte hain ke Hazrat Fatima atta gundha karti thin aur un ki peshani ke baal aate ke bartan mein lagte thay.
