It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah). He said: “It expiates for the sins of two years.” Then he asked him about fasting on the Day of ‘Ashura’ (10th of Muharram). He said: “It expiates for the sins of one year.”

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ کسی شخص نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے یوم عرفہ (نو ذی الحجہ) کے روزے کے متعلق پوچھا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا یہ دو سال کا کفارہ بنتا ہے پھر کسی نے یوم عاشورہ کے روزے کے متعلق پوچھا تو فرمایا یہ ایک سال کا کفارہ بنتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki kisi shakhs ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se Youm e Arafa (9 Zil Hajj) ke roze ke mutalliq pucha to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ye do saal ka kaffara banta hai phir kisi ne Youm e Ashura ke roze ke mutalliq pucha to farmaya ye ek saal ka kaffara banta hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever bears witness (in the case of a murder) against someone (that he is the murderer), then all the belongings of the murdered person will be given to him."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جو شخص کسی مقتول پر کوئی گواہ پیش کر دے (کہ اس کا قاتل وہ ہے) تو مقتول کا سارا سامان اسی کو ملے گا۔
Hazrat Abu Qatadah Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya jo shakhs kisi maqtool par koi gawaah pesh kar de (keh is ka qatil woh hai) to maqtool ka sara saman usi ko mile ga.
Narrated Abu Qatada (RA): I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) praying, and he was carrying Umama, the daughter of Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When he stood, he carried her; and when he bowed, he put her down. He continued to do that till he finished the prayer.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو اس طرح نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا کہ آپ ﷺ نے حضرت زینب رضی اللہ عنہ کی صاحبزادی امامہ یا امیمہ بنت ابی العاص کو اٹھا رکھا تھا نبی کریم ﷺ جب کھڑے ہوتے تو انہیں اٹھا لیتے اور جب رکوع میں جاتے تو انہیں نیچے اتار دیتے یہاں تک کہ اسی طرح نماز سے فارغ ہوگئے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai keh maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko iss tarah namaz parhte huye dekha keh Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Hazrat Zainab Raziallahu Anha ki sahibzadi Imama ya Umaima bint Abu al As ko utha rakha tha Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab khare hote to unhen utha lete aur jab rukuh mein jate to unhen niche utar dete yahan tak keh isi tarah namaz se farigh hogaye.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to lead us in prayer and would recite (from the Quran) in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr (noon prayer), and would sometimes let us hear a verse from it. He would make the first rak'ah longer than the second. He would do the same in Fajr (dawn prayer) - making the first rak'ah longer and the second shorter. And he would also recite in the first two rak'ahs of Asr (afternoon prayer).

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ ہماری امامت فرماتے تھے تو ظہر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں قرأت فرماتے تھے جس کی کوئی آیت کبھی کبھار ہمیں سنا دیتے تھے اس میں بھی پہلی رکعت نسبتہ لمبی اور دوسری مختصر فرماتے تھے فجر کی نماز میں بھی اسی طرح کرتے تھے کہ پہلی رکعت لمبی اور دوسری اس کی نسبت مختصر پڑھاتے تھے اور عصر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں بھی قراءت فرماتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam hamari imamat farmate thy to Zuhar ki pehli do rakaton mein qirat farmate thy jis ki koi ayat kabhi kabhar humein suna dete thy is mein bhi pehli rakat nisbatan lambi aur dusri mukhtasar farmate thy fajar ki namaz mein bhi isi tarha karte thy ki pehli rakat lambi aur dusri is ki nisbat mukhtasar parhaate thy aur Asar ki pehli do rakaton mein bhi qirat farmate thy.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade making Nabidh (a drink) by mixing different types of dates together. He said that Nabidh can be made from each type of date separately.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے (کھجور کی مختلف اقسام کو) ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ ملا کر نبیذ بنانے سے منع کرتے ہوئے فرمایا ہے کہ علیحدہ علیحدہ ان کی نبیذ بنائی جاسکتی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada razi Allah anhu se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne khajoor ki mukhtalif aqsam ko ek doosre ke sath mila kar nabiz banane se mana karte hue farmaya hai keh alag alag unki nabiz banai ja sakti hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade breathing into utensils, touching private parts with the right hand, or cleaning oneself after relieving oneself with the right hand.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے برتن میں سانس لینے سے دائیں ہاتھ سے شرمگاہ چھونے سے یا دائیں ہاتھ سے استنجاء کرنے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne bartann mein saans lene se daayein haath se sharamgah chhune se ya daayein haath se istinja karne se mana farmaya hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you enters the mosque, he should offer two rak'ahs (as Tahiyyat-ul-Masjid) before sitting down.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص مسجد میں داخل ہو تو اسے بیٹھنے سے پہلے دو رکعتیں (بطور تحیۃ المسجد) پڑھ لینی چاہئیں۔
Hazrat Abu Qatadah Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab tum mein se koi shakhs masjid mein dakhil ho to usay bethne se pehle do rakaten (ba taur tahiyatul masjid) parh leni chahiyen.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while offering prayer, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was holding Zainab's (may Allah be pleased with her) granddaughter, Umaima. When the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stand, he would lift her, and when he would go into bowing (ruku), he would put her down.

Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne namaz parhte huye Hazrat Zainab ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ki sahibzadi Imama ko utha rakha tha Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab kharay hote to unhen utha lete aur jab ruku mein jate to unhen neeche utar dete.
Abu Salama (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I used to see dreams that would frighten me, but I did not consider them a burden. Then one day I met Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) and mentioned this to him. He narrated to me this Hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Good dreams are from Allah, and bad dreams are from Satan. So whoever sees a dream that he dislikes, let him not mention it to anyone, but let him spit dryly to his left three times, and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, for it will not harm him.'"

ابوسلمہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ بعض اوقات مجھے ڈراؤنے خواب نظر آیا کرتے تھے لیکن میں انہیں اپنے اوپر بوجھ نہیں بناتا تھا یہاں تک کہ ایک دن حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملاقات ہوگئی میں نے ان سے یہ چیز ذکر کی تو انہوں نے مجھے یہ حدیث سنائی کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اچھے خواب اللہ کی طرف سے ہوتے ہیں اور برے خواب شیطان کی طرف سے ہوتے ہیں اس لئے جو شخص کوئی ناپسندیدہ خواب دیکھے تو کسی کے سامنے اسے بیان نہ کرے بلکہ خواب دیکھ کر اپنی بائیں جانب تین مرتبہ تھتکار دے اور اس کے شر سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگے، اس طرح وہ خواب اسے کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکے گا۔
Abusalma rehmatullah alaih kahte hain ke baaz auqat mujhe darawane khwab nazar aaya karte the lekin main unhen apne upar bojh nahin banata tha yahan tak ke ek din Hazrat Abu Qatada razi Allah tala anhu se mulaqat hogai main ne unse yeh cheez zikar ki to unhon ne mujhe yeh hadees sunaai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya achhe khwab Allah ki taraf se hote hain aur bure khwab shaitan ki taraf se hote hain is liye jo shakhs koi napasandida khwab dekhe to kisi ke samne use bayan na kare balke khwab dekh kar apni bayein janib teen martaba thukkar de aur uske shar se Allah ki panaah mange is tarah woh khwab use koi nuksan nahin pahuncha sakega.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he hunted a zebra while he was not in the state of Ihram, but all other companions were in the state of Ihram. The people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) allowed them to eat from it.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے ایک گورخر کا شکار کیا جبکہ وہ احرام میں نہیں تھے اور دیگر تمام حضرات محرم تھے لوگوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس کے متعلق پوچھا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے انہیں اس کے کھانے کی اجازت دے دی۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki unhon ne ek gorakhhar ka shikar kiya jabke wo ehram mein nahi the aur deegar tamam hazrat muhrim the logon ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se iske mutalliq poocha to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen iske khane ki ijazat de di.
On the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, I invited a man to fight. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave me his equipment as a reward.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی غزوہ حنین کے موقع پر میں نے ایک آدمی کو لڑنے کی دعوت دی نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس کا سازوسامان انعام میں مجھے دے دیا۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada razi Allah anhu se marvi ghazwa hunain ke mauqe par maine ek aadmi ko larne ki dawat di Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne uska saz o saman inaam mein mujhe de diya.
Abu Qatada, may Allah be pleased with him, used to tilt the utensil for the cat and would say that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told us that it does not make it impure because it is an animal that frequently visits your homes.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ بلی کے لئے برتن کو جھکا دیا کرتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہم سے فرمایا ہے یہ ناپاک نہیں ہوتی کیونکہ یہ تمہارے گھروں میں بار بار آنے والا جانور ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu billi ke lye bartan ko jhuka diya karte thay aur farmate thay keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hum se farmaya hai yeh napaak nahi hoti kyunki yeh tumhare gharon mein baar baar aane wala janwar hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you enters the mosque, he should offer two rak'ahs (as Tahiyyat al-Masjid) before sitting down.

It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), probably in a marfoo' manner, that the fast of the day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah) is an expiation for (the sins of) two years, and the fast of the day of Ashura (10th of Muharram) is an expiation for (the sins of) one year.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے غالباً مرفوعاً مروی ہے کہ یوم عرفہ (نو ذی الحجہ) کا روزہ دو سال کا کفارہ بنتا ہے یوم عاشورہ کا روزہ ایک سال کا کفارہ بنتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada raziallahu anhu se ghaliban marfooan marvi hai ki Yaum Arafah (nau zi alhijja) ka roza do saal ka kaffara banta hai Yaum Ashura ka roza ek saal ka kaffara banta hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying while carrying Imamah, the granddaughter of Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would lift her up when he stood up and put her down when he went into bowing (ruku).

It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the Adhan (call to prayer) is being called, do not stand up (for prayer) until you see me."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب نماز کے لئے اذان دی جائے تو اس وقت تک کھڑے نہ ہوا کرو جب تک مجھے دیکھ نہ لو۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab namaz ke liye azan di jaye to us waqt tak kharay na hua karo jab tak mujhe dekh na lo.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade breathing into utensils, touching the private parts with the right hand, or cleaning oneself after relieving oneself with the right hand.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Fasting on the day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah) is an atonement for two years, and fasting on the day of Ashura (10th of Muharram) is an atonement for one year.

Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Yaum Arafah (nau zi alhijja) ka roza do saal ka kaffara banta hai Yaum Ashura ka roza ek saal ka kaffara banta hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a funeral passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he said, "This person is either at rest or others have found rest from him." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What does that mean?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "A believing servant attains relief from the hardships and worries of this world and finds peace in the mercy of Allah, while from a wicked person, people, cities, trees, and animals all find relief."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس سے ایک جنازہ گذرا تو فرمایا یہ شخص آرام پانے والا ہے یا دوسروں کو اس سے آرام مل گیا لوگوں نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! اس کا کیا مطلب؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بندہ مؤمن دنیا کی تکالیف اور پریشانیوں سے نجات حاصل کر کے اللہ کی رحمت میں آرام پاتا ہے اور فاجر آدمی سے لوگ، شہر درخت اور درندے تک راحت حاصل کرتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Qatadah Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas se ek janaza guzara to farmaya yeh shakhs araam paane wala hai ya dusron ko is se araam mil gaya logon ne poocha ya Rasulullah iska kya matlab Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya banda momin duniya ki takaleef aur pareshaniyon se nijaat hasil kar ke Allah ki rehmat mein araam pata hai aur fajir aadmi se log shehar darakht aur darinde tak rahat hasil karte hain.
It is narrated by Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about his fasting. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became upset. Seeing this, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "We are content with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as the Messenger of Allah, and on this we have pledged allegiance." Then another man, or Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) himself, got up and asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the ruling if a person fasts continuously?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Fasting or not fasting is equal for him." The questioner asked, "What about fasting two days and breaking the fast for one day?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Who has the strength for that?" The questioner asked, "What about breaking the fast for two days and fasting for one day?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Perhaps that would be praiseworthy in the sight of Allah." The questioner asked, "What about fasting one day and breaking the fast for one day?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "That is the way of my brother, David (peace be upon him)." The questioner asked about fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "On this day I was born, and on this day revelation was sent down to me." Fasting three days every month and fasting the entire month of Ramadan is equal to fasting continuously. The questioner asked about the fast of the Day of Arafah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "It atones for the sins of the past and coming year." The questioner asked about the fast of the Day of Ashura. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "It atones for the sins of the previous year."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے ان کے روزے کے متعلق پوچھا تو نبی کریم ﷺ ناراض ہوئے اور یہ دیکھ کر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم اللہ کو اپنا رب مان کر، اسلام کو دین مان کر اور محمد ﷺ کو رسول مان کر راضی ہیں اور اسی پر ہم نے بیعت کی ہے پھر ایک دوسرے آدمی یا حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ہی اٹھ کر پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! اگر کوئی آدمی ہمیشہ روزے رکھے تو کیا حکم ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس کا روزہ رکھنا اور نہ رکھنا دونوں برابر ہیں سائل نے پوچھا دو دن روزہ رکھنا اور ایک دن ناغہ کرنا کیسا ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس کی طاقت کس میں ہے سائل نے پوچھا کہ دو دن ناغہ کرنا اور ایک دن روزہ رکھنا کیسا ہے، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ہوسکتا ہے کہ اللہ کی نظروں میں یہ قابل تعریف ہو، سائل نے پوچھا کہ ایک دن روزہ رکھنا اور ایک دن ناغہ کرنا کیسا ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا وہ تو میرے بھائی حضرت داؤد علیہ السلام کا طریقہ ہے سائل نے پیر اور جمعرات کے روزے کے حوالے سے پوچھا؟ تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس دن میری پیدائش ہوئی اور اسی دن مجھ پر وحی نازل ہوئی، ہر مہینے میں تین روزے رکھ لینا اور پورے ماہ رمضان کے روزے رکھنا ہمیشہ روزہ رکھنے کے برابر ہے سائل نے پوچھا یوم عرفہ کے روزے کا کیا حکم ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس سے گزشتہ اور آئندہ سال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہوجاتا ہے سائل نے یوم عاشورہ کے روزے کا حکم پوچھا تو فرمایا اس سے گزشتہ سال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہوجاتا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek aadmi ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se unke roze ke mutalliq poocha to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) naraz huye aur ye dekh kar Hazrat Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehne lage ki hum Allah ko apna Rab maan kar, Islam ko deen maan kar aur Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko Rasul maan kar razi hain aur isi par humne bai't ki hai phir ek doosre aadmi ya Hazrat Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne hi uth kar poocha ya Rasulullah! Agar koi aadmi hamesha roze rakhe to kya hukum hai? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya iska roza rakhna aur na rakhna dono barabar hain sa'il ne poocha do din roza rakhna aur ek din nagha karna kaisa hai? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya iski taqat kis mein hai sa'il ne poocha ki do din nagha karna aur ek din roza rakhna kaisa hai, Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ho sakta hai ki Allah ki nazron mein ye qabil e tareef ho, sa'il ne poocha ki ek din roza rakhna aur ek din nagha karna kaisa hai? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya wo to mere bhai Hazrat Dawood Alaihissalam ka tareeqa hai sa'il ne peer aur jumaraat ke roze ke hawale se poocha? To Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is din meri paidaish hui aur isi din mujh par wahi nazil hui, har mahine mein teen roze rakh lena aur pure mah Ramadan ke roze rakhna hamesha roze rakhne ke barabar hai sa'il ne poocha yom Arafah ke roze ka kya hukum hai? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is se guzishta aur aane wala saal ke gunahon ka kaffara ho jata hai sa'il ne yom Ashura ke roze ka hukum poocha to farmaya is se guzishta saal ke gunahon ka kaffara ho jata hai.
Narrated Abu Qatadah (RA): I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying on this pulpit, "O people! Avoid narrating many Hadiths from me, for whoever tells a lie against me intentionally, then he has found his place in Hell-fire.”

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو اس منبر پر یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے اے لوگو! میرے حوالے سے کثرت کے ساتھ حدیث بیان کرنے سے بچو اور جو میری طرف نسبت کر کے کوئی بات کہے تو وہ صرف صحیح بات کہے اس لئے کہ جو شخص میری طرف کسی جھوٹی بات کی نسبت کرے، اسے اپنا ٹھکانہ جہنم میں بنا لینا چاہئے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai keh main ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko is mimbar par ye farmate hue suna hai aye logo mere hawale se kasrat ke sath hadees bayan karne se bacho aur jo meri taraf nisbat kar ke koi baat kahe to woh sirf sahi baat kahe is liye keh jo shaks meri taraf kisi jhooti baat ki nisbat kare use apna thikana jahannam mein bana lena chahiye
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sometimes recite a verse to us during the Zuhr and Asr prayers.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ ظہر اور عصر کی نماز میں کوئی آیت کبھی کبھار ہمیں بھی سنا دیتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Zuhar aur Asr ki namaz mein koi ayat kabhi kabhar humein bhi suna dete thay.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sit during prayer while making Tashahhud, he would place his hand on his right thigh and gesture with his finger.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ جب نماز میں دوران تشہد بیٹھتے تو اپنا ہاتھ اپنی دائیں ران پر رکھتے اور انگلی سے اشارے کرتے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab namaz mein dauran tashahhud baithte to apna hath apni dayen ran par rakhte aur ungli se ishare karte.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, if I am martyred in the way of Allah, and I remain steadfast with the intention of reward, move forward and do not retreat, will Allah forgive all my sins by His blessing?". The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Yes! If you are martyred in this way, Allah will forgive your sins." After a while, the same person asked the same question again, so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave the same answer, but with this exception, "except for debt", and said that Gabriel (peace be upon him) has just told me so.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! یہ بتائیے کہ اگر میں اللہ کی راہ میں حال میں شہید ہوجاؤں کہ میں ثواب کی نیت سے ثابت قدم رہا ہوں آگے بڑھا ہوں پیچھے نہ ہٹا ہوں تو کیا اللہ اس کی برکت سے میرے سارے گناہوں کا کفارہ فرما دے گا؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ہاں! اگر تم اسی طرح شہید ہوئے ہو تو اللہ تمہارے گناہوں کا کفارہ فرما دے گا کچھ دیر گذرنے کے بعد اس شخص نے دوبارہ یہی سوال کیا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے یہی جواب دیا لیکن اس میں یہ استثناء کردیا کہ " قرض کے علاوہ " اور فرمایا کہ حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے ابھی ابھی مجھے اسی طرح بتایا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatadah raziallahu anhu se marvi hai ki ek aadmi ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha Ya Rasulullah! Yeh bataiye ki agar main Allah ki raah mein haal mein shaheed ho jaon keh main sawab ki niyat se saabith qadam raha hun aage badha hun peeche na hata hun to kya Allah us ki barkat se mere saare gunaahon ka kaffara farma de ga? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Haan! Agar tum isi tarah shaheed huye ho to Allah tumhare gunaahon ka kaffara farma de ga kuch dair guzarne ke baad us shakhs ne dobara yahi sawal kiya to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne yahi jawab diya lekin us mein yeh istsnaa kar diya ki "qarz ke alawa" aur farmaya ki Hazrat Jibraeel alaihissalam ne abhi abhi mujhe isi tarah bataya hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a funeral was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Did he leave any debt behind?" The people replied, "Yes! Two dinars." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Did he leave any inheritance?" The people replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Then you yourself should lead the funeral prayer of your companion." Upon this Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! His debt is upon me." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led his funeral prayer.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس ایک جنازہ لایا گیا نبی کریم ﷺ نے پوچھا کیا اس نے اپنے پیچھے کوئی قرض چھوڑا ہے؟ لوگوں نے بتایا جی ہاں! دو دینار، نبی کریم ﷺ نے پوچھا کہ ترکہ میں کچھ چھوڑا ہے؟ لوگوں نے بتایا نہیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تو پھر اپنے ساتھی کی نماز جنازہ خود ہی پڑھ لو، اس پر حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! اس کا قرض میرے ذمے ہے چنانچہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس کی نماز جنازہ پڑھا دی۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas ek janaza laya gaya. Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne poocha kya isne apne peeche koi qarz chhoda hai? Logon ne bataya ji haan! Do dinar. Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne poocha ki turqah mein kuch chhoda hai? Logon ne bataya nahin. Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya to phir apne saathi ki namaz janaza khud hi padh lo. Is par Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya Ya Rasul Allah! Iska qarz mere zimme hai. Chunache Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne iski namaz janaza padha di.
Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying, "Avoid excessive oaths while buying and selling, because it might help sell the goods but it snatches away blessings."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ بیع وشراء میں زیادہ قسمیں کھانے سے بچا کرو کیونکہ اس سے سودا تو بک جاتا ہے لیکن اس کی برکت ختم ہوجاتی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai ki be o shara mein ziada qasmein khane se bacha karo kyunki is se soda to bik jata hai lekin is ki barkat khatam ho jati hai.
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Avoid excessive oaths when buying and selling, for although it may help you make the sale, it removes the blessings from it."

Abu Qatada reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on a journey. He (ﷺ) said, "If you do not find water tomorrow, then perform Tayammum." The people quickly went ahead seeking water. I stayed close to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). His camel stumbled so the Prophet (ﷺ) leaned forward. I supported him, and then he leaned again until he nearly fell off his camel. So, I supported him again. He became alert and said, “Who is this man?” I replied, "Abu Qatada." He (ﷺ) asked, “Since when have you been traveling with me?” I said, “Since last night.” He (ﷺ) said, “May Allah preserve you as you have preserved His Messenger.” He (ﷺ) then said, “Shall we stop here for a while?” He went to a tree and dismounted. He (ﷺ) said, "Do you see anyone?" I said, “Here is a rider, and here are two more riders," until I counted seven. He (ﷺ) said, “Guard our prayer for us.” We slept until the sun had risen high in the sky. We woke up and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mounted his camel and we set off. After traveling for a short while, we dismounted. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, “Do you have any water?” I said, “Yes, I have a little water left in my water-skin." He (ﷺ) said, “Bring it to me.” When I brought it to him, he (ﷺ) said, “Perform Wudu (ablution) from it, all of you.” The people performed Wudu, and some water remained. He (ﷺ) said, “Keep it, Abu Qatada, for we will need it.” Then Bilal gave the Adhan (call to prayer), and they prayed two Rak’ahs (units of prayer) before Fajr (dawn prayer). Then they prayed Fajr. After that, the Prophet (ﷺ) and we mounted our camels and set off again. Some of the people were saying to each other that they had been neglectful in offering their prayers. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "What are you saying? If it concerns your worldly affairs, then that is your matter. If it concerns your religion, then bring it to me." They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we have been neglectful in offering our prayers.” He (ﷺ) said, “There is no neglect in sleep. Rather, neglect occurs while you are awake. So, if this is the case, then offer your prayers and make up for them from the next day at their appropriate time.” He (ﷺ) then said, “What do you think has become of the people?” They said, “You said last evening, ‘If you do not find water tomorrow, then perform Tayammum,’ so they must be near water." He (ﷺ) said, "The people woke up this morning and have lost their Prophet! Some of them said to others, ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is at the water, and among the people are Abu Bakr and Umar.’ They said, ‘O people! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would not have gone ahead of you to the water and left you behind. If people obey Abu Bakr and Umar, they will be guided.” They repeated this three times. When the heat of the day intensified, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands for them to see, and they said, “O Messenger of Allah! We are dying of thirst, and our necks are parched!” He (ﷺ) said, “There is no destruction for you.” Then he said, “O Abu Qatada, bring me the water-skin.” I brought it to him and he said, “Hand me my bowl.” I gave it to him, and he began to pour water into it and give it to the people to drink. The people crowded around him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “O people! Drink moderately, for all of you will drink their fill.” The people drank until no one was left except myself and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He (ﷺ) poured some water for me and said, "Drink, O Abu Qatada." I said, “Drink, O Messenger of Allah!” He (ﷺ) said, “The one who gives water to the people drinks last.” So, I drank, and then he drank after me. There remained in the water-skin almost as much water as there had been before, and the people that day were three hundred strong. Abdullah said: Imran ibn Husain heard me narrating this Hadith in the mosque. He said, “Who is this man?” They said, “This is Abdullah ibn Rabah al-Ansari.” Imran said, “The people know best about their own Hadith. Pay attention to what you are narrating, for I am one of the seven that night!” When I finished (narrating), he said, "I did not think anyone had memorized this Hadith except me!"

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ کسی سفر میں تھے رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ اگر تم پانی تک نہ پہنچے تو پیاسے رہ جاؤ گے چنانچہ جلد باز لوگ پانی کی تلاش میں نکل گئے اور میں آپ ﷺ کے ساتھ ہی رہا اسی دوران رسول اللہ ﷺ اونگنے لگے آپ ﷺ اپنی سواری سے جھکے تو میں نے آپ ﷺ کو جگائے بغیر سہارا دے دیا، یہاں تک کہ آپ ﷺ اپنی سواری پر سیدھے ہوگئے پھر اپنی سواری پر جھکے تو میں نے آپ کو جگائے بغیر سیدھا کیا یہاں تک کہ آپ اپنی سواری پر سیدھے ہوگئے پھر پہلے سے بھی زیادہ جھکے یہاں تک کہ قریب تھا کہ آپ گرپڑیں میں پھر آیا اور آپ ﷺ کو سہارا دیا تو آپ ﷺ نے اپنا سر اٹھایا اور فرمایا کون ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا ابو قتادہ، آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا تم کب سے اس طرح میرے ساتھ چل رہے ہو؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ میں ساری رات سے اسی طرح آپ کے ساتھ چل رہا ہوں آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا اللہ تعالیٰ تمہاری حفاظت فرمائے جس طرح تم نے اللہ کے نبی ﷺ کی حفاظت کی ہے پھر آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا میرا خیال ہے کہ ہمیں پڑاؤ کرلینا چاہئے چنانچہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ایک درخت کے قریب پہنچ کر منزل کی پھر فرمایا تم کسی کو دیکھ رہے ہو؟ میں نے عرض کیا یہ ایک سوار ہے یہاں تک کہ سات سوار جمع ہوگئے رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا تم ہماری نماز کا خیال رکھنا چنانچہ ہم لوگ سو گئے اور سورج کی تمازت نے ہی ہمیں جگایا ہم بیدار ہوئے نبی کریم ﷺ سوار ہو کر وہاں سے چل دیئے ہم بھی آہستہ آہستہ چل پڑے، ایک جگہ پہنچ کر نبی کریم ﷺ نے پڑاؤ کیا اور فرمایا کیا تم میں سے کسی کے پاس پانی ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا جی ہاں! میرے وضو کے برتن میں تھوڑا سا پانی ہے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا وہ لے آؤ میں وہ پانی لایا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس سے وضو کرو۔ چنانچہ سب لوگوں نے وضو کیا اور اس میں سے کچھ پانی بچ گیا پھر آپ ﷺ نے ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا کہ اس وضو کے پانی کے برتن کی حفاظت کرو کیونکہ اس سے عنقریب ایک عجیب خبر ظاہر ہوگی پھر حضرت بلال رضی اللہ عنہ نے اذان دی پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ اور صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے دو رکعتیں پڑھیں (سنت) پھر صبح کی نماز پڑھی (اس کے بعد) رسول اللہ ﷺ سوار ہوئے اور ہم بھی آپ ﷺ کے ساتھ سوار ہوئے ہم میں سے ایک آدمی نے دوسرے سے کہا کہ ہماری اس غلطی کا کفارہ کیا ہوگا جو ہم نے نماز میں کی کہ ہم بیدار نہیں ہوئے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم لوگ کیا کہہ رہے ہو؟ اگر کوئی دنیوی بات ہے تو ٹھیک ہے اور اگر کوئی دینی مسئلہ ہے تو مجھے بھی بتاؤ، ہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم سے نماز میں تفریط ہوگئی ہے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ سونے میں کوئی تفریط نہیں بلکہ تفریط تو جاگنے میں ہوتی ہے۔ اگر کسی سے اس طرح ہوجائے تو اسے چاہیے کہ جس وقت بھی وہ بیدار ہوجائے نماز پڑھ لے اور جب اگلا دن آجائے تو وہ نماز اس کے وقت پر پڑھے پھر فرمایا تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ دوسرے لوگوں نے کیا کیا ہوگا؟ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ کل آپ نے خود ہی فرمایا تھا کہ اگر تم کل پانی تک نہ پہنچے تو پیاسے رہ جاؤ گے چنانچہ لوگ پانی کی تلاش میں ہوں گے آپ ﷺ نے خود ہی فرمایا کہ جب لوگوں نے صبح کی تو انہوں نے اپنے نبی کریم ﷺ کو نہ پایا لوگوں میں موجود حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ اور حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ تمہارے پیچھے ہوں گے آپ ﷺ کی شان سے یہ بات بعید ہے کہ آپ ﷺ تمہیں پیچھے چھوڑ جائیں اور خود پانی کی طرف سبقت لے جائیں اگر وہ لوگ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ اور حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کی بات مان لیں گے تو وہ ہدایت پاجائیں تین مرتبہ فرمایا پھر ہم لوگوں کی طرف اس وقت پہنچے جس وقت دن چڑھ چکا تھا اور گرمی کی شدت میں اضافہ ہوگیا تھا لوگ کہنے لگے اے اللہ کے رسول ﷺ ہمیں تو پیاس نے ہلاک کردیا اور گردنیں ٹوٹنے لگیں آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا تم ہلاک نہیں ہوئے پھر فرمایا اے ابو قتادہ میرا چھوٹا پیالہ لاؤ میں وہ لے کر حاضر ہوا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس کا منہ کھولو میں اسے کھول کر لایا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پانی (اس برتن سے) انڈیلنے لگے لوگ اس پر ٹوٹ پڑے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا لوگو ! سکون سے رہو سب کے سب سیراب ہوجاؤ گے پھر لوگ سکون و اطمینان سے پانی پینے لگے یہاں تک کہ میرے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے علاوہ کوئی بھی باقی نہ رہا پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے پانی ڈالا اور مجھ سے فرمایا ابو قتادہ ! پیو میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ! صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پہلے آپ پئیں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا قوم کو پلانے والا سب سے آخر میں پیتا ہے تو پھر میں نے پیا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے میرے بعد پیا اور وضو کے اس برتن میں جتنا پانی پہلے تھا اب بھی اتنا ہی موجود تھا جبکہ اس سیراب ہونے والے لوگ تین سو تھے لوگ پانی پر مطمئن اور آسودہ آگئے
عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں جامع مسجد میں اس حدیث کو بیان کرتا تھا ایک دن حضرت عمران بن حصین (رض) نے مجھے یہ حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے سن لیا انہوں نے پوچھا تم کون ہو ؟ میں نے اپنا نام بتایا عبداللہ بن رباح انصاری، انہوں نے فرمایا اے جوان ! ذرا غور کرو کیا بیان کر رہے ہو کیونکہ اس رات میں بھی ان سات میں سے ایک تھا پھر میں نے قوم سے پوری حدیث بیان کی، جب فارغ ہوا تو عمران کہنے لگے کہ میں نہیں سمجھتا تھا کہ میرے علاوہ بھی کسی کو یہ حدیث یاد ہوگی۔

وسلم) unghne lage aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apni sawari se jhuke to maine aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko jagah baghair sahara de diya yahan tak ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apni sawari per seedhe hogaye phir apni sawari per jhuke to maine aap ko jagah baghair seedha kiya yahan tak ki aap apni sawari per seedhe hogaye phir pehle se bhi zyada jhuke yahan tak ki qareeb tha ki aap gir parin mein phir aaya aur aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko sahara diya to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apna sar uthaya aur farmaya kaun hai maine arz kiya Abu Qatada aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum kab se is tarah mere sath chal rahe ho maine arz kiya ki mein sari raat se isi tarah aap ke sath chal raha hun aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Allah Ta'ala tumhari hifazat farmaye jis tarah tumne Allah ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki hifazat ki hai phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya mera khayal hai ki hamein padao karlena chahiye chunancha Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek darakht ke qareeb pahunch kar manzil ki phir farmaya tum kisi ko dekh rahe ho maine arz kiya yah ek sawar hai yahan tak ki saat sawar jama hogaye Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum hamari namaz ka khayal rakhna chunancha hum log so gaye aur suraj ki tmazat ne hi hamein jagaya hum bedar huye Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sawar ho kar wahan se chal diye hum bhi aahista aahista chal pade ek jagah pahunch kar Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne padao kiya aur farmaya kya tum mein se kisi ke pass pani hai maine arz kiya ji han mere wuzu ke bartan mein thoda sa pani hai Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya woh le aao mein woh pani laya to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is se wuzu karo chunancha sab logon ne wuzu kiya aur is mein se kuch pani bach gaya phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se farmaya ki is wuzu ke pani ke bartan ki hifazat karo kyunki is se anqareeb ek ajeeb khabar zahir hogi phir Hazrat Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne azan di phir Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aur Sahaba (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne do rakatiyan parhin (sunnat) phir subah ki namaz parhi (is ke baad) Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sawar huye aur hum bhi aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath sawar huye hum mein se ek aadmi ne dusre se kaha ki hamari is ghalti ka kaffara kya hoga jo humne namaz mein ki ki hum bedar nahin huye Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum log kya kah rahe ho agar koi dunyawi baat hai to theek hai aur agar koi deeni masla hai to mujhe bhi batao humne arz kiya ki Ya Rasul Allah hum se namaz mein tafreet hogayi hai Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki sone mein koi tafreet nahin balki tafreet to jagne mein hoti hai agar kisi se is tarah hojaye to use chahiye ki jis waqt bhi woh bedar hojaye namaz parh le aur jab agla din aajaye to woh namaz is ke waqt par parhe phir farmaya tumhara kya khayal hai ki dusre logon ne kya kya hoga unhon ne arz kiya ki kal aap ne khud hi farmaya tha ki agar tum kal pani tak na pahunche to pyase reh jaoge chunancha log pani ki talash mein honge aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne khud hi farmaya ki jab logon ne subah ki to unhon ne apne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko na paya logon mein maujood Hazrat Abubakar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) aur Hazrat Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) tumhare peeche honge aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki shan se yah baat baeed hai ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) tumhen peeche chhod jayen aur khud pani ki taraf sabaqat le jayen agar woh log Hazrat Abubakar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) aur Hazrat Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki baat maan lenge to woh hidayat pa jayen teen martaba farmaya phir hum logon ki taraf is waqt pahunche jis waqt din charh chuka tha aur garmi ki shiddat mein izafa hogaya tha log kahne lage aye Allah ke Rasul (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hamein to pyas ne halaak kardiya aur gardanen tootne lagin aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum halaak nahin huye phir farmaya aye Abu Qatada mera chhota piala lao mein woh le kar hazir hua to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is ka munh kholo mein ise khol kar laya to Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) pani (is bartan se) undelne lage log is per toot pade to Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya log sukoon se raho sab ke sab sirab hojaonge phir log sukoon o itminan se pani pine lage yahan tak ki mere aur Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke alawa koi bhi baqi na raha phir Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pani dala aur mujh se farmaya Abu Qatada pio maine arz kiya Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) pehle aap piyen aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya qaum ko pilane wala sab se akhir mein pita hai to phir maine piya aur Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mere baad piya aur wuzu ke is bartan mein jitna pani pehle tha ab bhi utna hi maujood tha jabki is sirab hone wale log teen sau thay log pani per mutmain aur asuda aa gaye
Abdullah kahte hain ki mein jami masjid mein is hadees ko bayan karta tha ek din Hazrat Imran bin Haseen (Razi Allahu Anhu) ne mujhe yah hadees bayan karte huye sun liya unhon ne puchha tum kaun ho main ne apna naam bataya Abdullah bin Rabah Ansari unhon ne farmaya aye jawan zara ghaur karo kya bayan kar rahe ho kyunki is raat mein bhi in saat mein se ek tha phir main ne qaum se puri hadees bayan ki jab farigh hua to Imran kahne lage ki mein nahin samajhta tha ki mere alawa bhi kisi ko yah hadees yaad hogi.
Muhammad says that once we were sitting with Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) on the roof of our house, when suddenly a shooting star appeared. People started looking at it, upon which Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) said that we have been forbidden from following it with our eyes.

محمد کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ اپنے گھر کی چھت پر حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بیٹھے تھے اسی دوران ایک ستارہ ٹوٹا لوگ اسے دیکھنے لگے تو حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا ہمیں اس کے پیچھے اپنی نگاہوں کو دوڑانے سے منع کیا گیا ہے۔
Muhammad kahte hain ke aik martaba hum log apne ghar ki chhat par Hazrat Abu Qatada razi Allah anhu ke sath baithe the usi doran aik sitara toota log use dekhne lage to Hazrat Abu Qatada razi Allah anhu ne farmaya hamen iske peeche apni nigaahon ko daurane se mana kiya gaya hai.
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah al-Ansari that a man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about fasting on Monday, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was sent (with Prophethood) and the day on which I was revealed to.”

حضرت ابو قتادہ انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے پیر کے روزے کے حوالے سے پوچھا؟ تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس دن میری پیدائش ہوئی اور اس دن مجھ پر وحی نازل ہوئی۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Ansari (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki aik aadmi ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se peer ke roze ke hawale se poocha? To Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is din meri paidaish hui aur is din mujh par wahi nazil hui.
Khalid bin Samir said: Once Abdullah bin Rabah came to us. I saw that a lot of people were gathered around him, and they were saying that Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) told us that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), while dispatching the army called "Jaish al-Umara", said: "Your commander is Zaid bin Haritha. If Zaid is martyred, then Ja'far will be the commander. If Ja'far is also martyred, then Abdullah bin Rawaha will be the commander." Upon this, Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Prophet of Allah! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you! I did not think that you would appoint Zaid as the commander over me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Go, for you do not know in which matter lies goodness." So, the army departed. After some time had passed, one day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ascended the pulpit and ordered the call for prayer to be made, and said: "There is sad news. Should I not tell you about that army of Mujahideen? They departed from here and encountered the enemy. Zaid was martyred. Pray for his forgiveness." The people did so. Then, Ja'far bin Abi Talib took the banner and fiercely attacked the enemy until he was also martyred. I bear witness to his martyrdom, so pray for his forgiveness. Then, Abdullah bin Rawaha took the banner and fought bravely until he was also martyred. Seek forgiveness for him as well. Then, Khalid bin Walid took the banner, even though no one had chosen him as the commander. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), raising his finger, said: "O Allah! He is one of Your swords, so help him." From that day onwards, Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) was named "Saifullah" (Sword of Allah). Then, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "March to help your brothers, and let no one stay behind." So, in that intense heat, people left on foot and on their mounts.

خالد بن سمیر کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہمارے یہاں عبداللہ بن رباح آئے میں نے دیکھا کہ ان کے پاس بہت سے لوگ جمع ہیں اور وہ کہہ رہے ہیں کہ ہمیں حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بتایا ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے " جیش امراء " نامی لشکر کو روانہ کرتے ہوئے فرمایا تمہارے امیر زید بن حارثہ ہیں اگر زید شہید ہوجائیں تو جعفرامیرہوں گے اگر جعفر بھی شہید ہوجائیں تو عبداللہ بن رواحہ انصاری امیر ہوں گے اس پر حضرت جعفر رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا اے اللہ کے نبی! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں میرا خیال نہیں تھا کہ آپ زید کو مجھ پر امیر مقرر کریں گے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم روانہ ہوجاؤ کیونکہ تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ کس بات میں خیر ہے؟ چنانچہ وہ لشکر روانہ ہوگیا کچھ عرصہ گذرنے کے بعد ایک دن نبی کریم ﷺ منبر پر رونق افروز ہوئے اور " نماز تیار ہے " کی منادی کرنے کا حکم دیا اور فرمایا ایک افسوس ناک خبر ہے کیا میں تمہیں مجاہدین کے اس لشکر کے متعلق نہ بتاؤں؟ وہ لوگ یہاں سے روانہ ہوئے اور دشمن سے آمنا سامنا ہوا تو زید شہید ہوگئے ان کے لئے بخشش کی دعاء کرو لوگوں نے ایسا ہی کیا پھر جعفر بن ابی طالب نے جھنڈا پکڑا اور دشمن پر سخت حملہ کیا حتٰی کہ وہ بھی شہید ہوگئے میں ان کی شہادت کی گواہی دیتا ہوں لہٰذا ان کی بخشش کے لئے دعاء کرو پھر عبداللہ بن رواحہ نے جھنڈا پکڑا اور نہایت پامردی سے ڈٹے رہے حتیٰ کہ وہ بھی شہید ہوگئے ان کے لئے بھی استغفار کرو پھر خالد بن ولید نے جھنڈا پکڑ لیا گو کہ کسی نے انہیں امیر منتخب نہیں کیا تھا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے اپنی انگلی بلند کر کے فرمایا اے اللہ! وہ تیری تلواروں میں سے ایک تلوار ہے تو اس کی مدد فرما اسی دن سے حضرت خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ عنہ کا نام " سیف اللہ " پڑگیا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اپنے بھائیوں کی مدد کے لئے کوچ کرو اور کوئی آدمی بھی پیچھے نہ رہے چنانچہ اس سخت گرمی کے موسم میں لوگ پیدل اور سوار ہو کر روانہ ہوگئے۔
Khalid bin Sameer kehte hain ki ek martaba hamare yahan Abdullah bin Rabah aye main ne dekha ki un ke pass bahut se log jama hain aur wo keh rahe hain ki hamen Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne bataya hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne "Jaish Umra" nami lashkar ko rawana karte huye farmaya tumhare ameer Zaid bin Haritha hain agar Zaid shaheed hojain to Jaffar ameer honge agar Jaffar bhi shaheed hojain to Abdullah bin Rawaha Ansari ameer honge is par Hazrat Jaffar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya aye Allah ke Nabi! mere maan baap aap par qurban hon mera khayal nahin tha ki aap Zaid ko mujh par ameer muqarrar karenge Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum rawana hojao kyunki tumhen maloom nahin ki kis baat mein khair hai? chunancha wo lashkar rawana hogaya kuch arsa guzarne ke baad ek din Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mimbar par ronak afroz huye aur "namaz taiyar hai" ki munaddi karne ka hukum diya aur farmaya ek afsos nak khabar hai kya main tumhen mujahidin ke is lashkar ke mutalliq na bataun? wo log yahan se rawana huye aur dushman se aamna samna hua to Zaid shaheed hogaye un ke liye bakhshish ki dua karo logon ne aisa hi kiya phir Jaffar bin Abi Talib ne jhanda pakda aur dushman par sakht hamla kiya hatta ki wo bhi shaheed hogaye main un ki shahadat ki gawahi deta hun lahaza un ki bakhshish ke liye dua karo phir Abdullah bin Rawaha ne jhanda pakda aur nihayat pa-mard se date rahe hatta ki wo bhi shaheed hogaye un ke liye bhi istighfar karo phir Khalid bin Waleed ne jhanda pakad liya go ki kisi ne unhen ameer muntakhib nahin kiya tha phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni ungli buland kar ke farmaya aye Allah! wo teri talwaron mein se ek talwar hai to us ki madad farma isi din se Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ka naam "Saifullah" pad gaya phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya apne bhaiyon ki madad ke liye کوچ karo aur koi aadmi bhi peeche na rahe chunancha is sakht garmi ke mausam mein log paidal aur sawar ho kar rawana hogaye.
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not curse time, for Allah is the one who controls time.”

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا زمانے کو برا بھلا مت کہا کرو، کیونکہ اللہ ہی زمانے کا خالق ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatadah Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya zamanay ko bura bhala mat kaha karo, kyunki Allah hi zamanay ka khalik hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Amr bin Jamooh (may Allah be pleased with him), who was lame in one leg, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allah! Tell me, if I fight in the cause of Allah and am martyred, will I be able to walk in Paradise with a sound leg?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Yes!” Then, on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the polytheists martyred him, his nephew, and a freed slave. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by them, he said: “I see you walking perfectly sound in Paradise with your leg.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered regarding them both and their slave, and the people buried them in one grave.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ عمرو بن جموع رضی اللہ عنہ جن کے پاؤں میں لنگراہٹ تھی " نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! یہ بتائیے کہ اگر میں اللہ کے راستہ میں جہاد کروں اور شہید ہوجاؤں تو کیا میں صحیح ٹانگ کے ساتھ جنت میں چل پھر سکوں گا؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ہاں! پھر غزوہ احد کے دن مشرکین نے انہیں، ان کے بھتیجے اور ایک آزاد کردہ غلام کو شہید کردیا نبی کریم ﷺ جب ان کے پاس سے گذرے تو فرمایا میں تمہیں اپنی اس ٹانگ کے ساتھ صحیح سالم جنت میں چلتے ہوئے دیکھ رہا ہوں پھر نبی کئے ﷺ نے ان دونوں اور ان کے غلام کے متعلق حکم دیا اور لوگوں نے انہیں ایک ہی قبر میں دفن کردیا۔

Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the funeral prayer of a person. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicating, "O Allah! Forgive our living and our dead, those who are present and those who are absent, our young and our old, our males and our females."
Abu Salama added in his narration, "O Allah! Among us, whomever You keep alive, keep him alive on Islam, and whomever You cause to die, cause him to die upon faith."
حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے کسی کی نماز جنازہ پڑھائی میں بھی موجود تھا، میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ دعاء کرتے ہوئے سنا کہ اے اللہ! ہمارے زندہ اور فوت شدہ موجود اور غیر موجود چھوٹوں اور بڑوں اور مرد و عورت کو معاف فرما۔
ابو سلمہ نے اس میں یہ اضافہ بھی نقل کیا ہے کہ اے اللہ! تو ہم میں سے جسے زندہ رکھے اسے اسلام پر زندہ رکھ اور جسے موت دے اسے ایمان پر موت عطاء فرما۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kisi ki namaz janaza parhayi mein bhi mojood tha, maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye dua karte huye suna ki aye Allah! Humare zinda aur faut shuda mojood aur ghair mojood chhoton aur baron aur mard o aurat ko maaf farma.
Abu Salma ne is mein ye izafa bhi naqal kia hai ki aye Allah! To hum mein se jise zinda rakhe use Islam par zinda rakh aur jise mout de use imaan par mout ata farma.
It is narrated by Abu Qatadah that whenever the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was called for a funeral prayer, he would first inquire about the deceased from the people. If they spoke well of him, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stand up and lead the prayer. And if they spoke ill of him, he would say to his family, "Take him away and offer his funeral prayer yourselves," and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not lead the prayer.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کو جب کبھی نماز جنازہ کے لئے بلایا جاتا تو پہلے اس کے متعلق لوگوں کی رائے معلوم کرتے تھے اگر لوگ اس کا تذکرہ اچھائی کے ساتھ کرتے تو نبی کریم ﷺ کھڑے ہوجاتے اور اس کی نماز پڑھا دیتے اور اگر برائی کے ساتھ تذکرہ ہوتا تو اس کے اہل خانہ سے فرما دیتے اسے لے جاؤ اور خود ہی اس کی نماز جنازہ پڑھ لو اور نبی کریم ﷺ اس کی نماز نہ پڑھاتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko jab kabhi namaz janaza ke liye bulaya jata to pehle uske mutalliq logon ki rai maloom karte the agar log us ka tazkara achai ke sath karte to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kharay hojate aur uski namaz parhate aur agar burai ke sath tazkara hota to uske ahl e khana se farma dete use le jao aur khud hi uski namaz janaza parh lo aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) uski namaz na parhate the.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Whoever sits on the bed of a woman whose husband is absent, Allah will unleash a dragon on him on the Day of Resurrection."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جو شخص کسی ایسی عورت کے بستر پر بیٹھے جس کا شوہر غائب ہو، اللہ اس پر قیامت کے دن ایک اژد ہے کو مسلط فرما دے گا۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya jo shakhs kisi aisi aurat ke bistar par baithe jis ka shohar ghaib ho, Allah us par qayamat ke din ek azhdaha ko musallat farma de ga.
It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever misses three consecutive Friday prayers without any excuse, Allah will seal his heart.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جو شخص بغیر کسی مجبوری کے تین مرتبہ جمعہ کی نماز چھوڑ دے اس کے دل پر مہر لگا دی جاتی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya jo shakhs baghair kisi majboori ke teen martaba Jumma ki namaz chhor de uske dil par mohar laga di jati hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: “Whoever gives respite to his debtor who is in difficulty or writes it off will be in the shade of the Throne of Allah on the Day of Resurrection.”

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے جو شخص اپنے مقروض کو مہلت دے دے یا اسے معاف کر دے تو وہ قیامت کے دن عرش الہٰی کے سائے میں ہوگا۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ke maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai jo shakhs apne maqrooz ko mohlat de de ya use maaf kar de to woh qayamat ke din arsh elahi ke saaye mein hoga.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) urinating while facing towards the Kaaba.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ انہوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو خانہ کعبہ کی جانب رخ کر کے پیشاب کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki unhon ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko khana kaba ki janib rukh kar ke peshab karte hue dekha hai.
Narrated Abu Qatadah: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best horse is the one which is entirely black with a dirham's size white mark on its forehead and with a white muzzle. It should also have three white legs and its right foreleg should be like the rest of its body. If you cannot find a horse of this description in black color, then the next best is a bay horse with the same marks."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا بہترین گھوڑا وہ ہوتا ہے جو مکمل سیاہ ہو اور اس کی پیشانی پر درہم برابر سفید نشان ہو، ناک بھی سفید ہو اور تین پاؤں بھی سفید ہوں اور صرف دایاں ہاتھ باقی بدن کی مانند ہو، اگر سیاہ رنگ میں ایسا گھوڑا نہ مل سکے تو پھر اسی تفصیل کے ساتھ وہ گھوڑا سب سے بہتر ہے جو کمیت ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya behtarin ghora wo hota hai jo mukammal siyah ho aur uski peshani par diram barabar safed nishan ho, nak bhi safed ho aur teen paon bhi safed hon aur sirf dayan hath baqi badan ki manind ho, agar siyah rang mein aisa ghora na mil sake to phir isi tafseel ke sath wo ghora sab se behtar hai jo kamit ho.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever sits on the bed of a woman whose husband is absent, Allah will unleash a dragon on him on the Day of Resurrection."

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to lead us in prayer, he would recite Surah Fatihah and another Surah in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr (noon) and Asr (afternoon) prayers. Sometimes, he would let us hear a verse from it. And in the last two rak'ahs, he would recite only Surah Fatihah. In Fajr (dawn) prayer, he would recite a long Surah in the first rak'ah.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہماری امامت فرماتے تھے تو ظہر اور عصر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں سورت فاتحہ اور کوئی سورت ملاتے تھے جس کی کوئی آیت کبھی کبھار ہمیں بھی سنا دیتے تھے اور آخری دو رکعتوں میں صرف سورت فاتحہ پڑھتے تھے فجر کی نماز میں پہلی رکعت لمبی پڑھاتے تھے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hamari imamat farmate thay to Zuhar aur Asr ki pehli do rakatoon mein Surah Fatiha aur koi surat milate thay jis ki koi ayat kabhi kabhar humein bhi suna dete thay aur akhri do rakatoon mein sirf Surah Fatiha parhte thay Fajar ki namaz mein pehli rakat lambi parhate thay.
On the authority of Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him), it is narrated that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Good dreams are from Allah and bad dreams are from Satan. So if anyone sees a disliked dream, they should not describe it to anyone, rather upon seeing the dream they should spit dryly to their left three times and seek refuge in Allah from its evil, this way the dream will not be able to harm them."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اچھے خواب اللہ کی طرف سے ہوتے ہیں اور برے خواب شیطان کی طرف سے ہوتے ہیں اس لئے جو شخص کوئی ناپسندیدہ خواب دیکھے تو کسی کے سامنے اسے بیان نہ کرے بلکہ خواب دیکھ کر اپنی بائیں جانب تین مرتبہ تھتکار دے اور اس کے شر سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگے، اس طرح وہ خواب اسے کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکے گا۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya achhe khwab Allah ki taraf se hote hain aur bure khwab shaitan ki taraf se hote hain is liye jo shakhs koi napasandida khwab dekhe to kisi ke samne use bayan na kare balke khwab dekh kar apni bayen janib teen martaba thutkar de aur uske shar se Allah ki panah mange, is tarah woh khwab use koi nuqsan nahin pahuncha sake ga.
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any one of you urinates, he should not touch his private parts with his right hand, and when any one of you enters the toilet, he should not clean himself with his right hand, and when any one of you drinks, he should not breathe in the vessel."

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جب پیشاب کرے تو دائیں ہاتھ سے شرمگاہ کو نہ چھوئے جب بیت الخلاء میں داخل ہو تو دائیں ہاتھ سے استنجاء نہ کرے اور جب تم میں سے کوئی کچھ پیئے تو برتن میں سانس نہ لے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya jab peshab kare to dayen hath se sharamgah ko na chhuye jab baitul khalah mein dakhil ho to dayen hath se istinja na kare aur jab tum mein se koi kuch piye to bartan mein saans na le.
Khalid bin Samir narrates that once Abdullah bin Rabah came to our place and I saw a large group of people gathered around him. They were saying that the "Persian Messenger" of the Prophet, Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him), had told us: Once, while dispatching the army called "Jaish Umra," the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Your commander is Zaid bin Haritha. If Zaid is martyred, then Ja'far will be your commander. If Ja'far is also martyred, then Abdullah bin Rawaha Ansari will be your commander." Upon hearing this, Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Prophet of Allah! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you! I never thought you would appoint Zaid as commander over me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Go ahead, for you do not know what is best."
So the army departed. After some time had passed, one day, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) graced the pulpit and ordered the call to prayer to be made. He then said, "There is sad news. Shall I not tell you about that army of Mujahideen? They left from here and encountered the enemy. Zaid was martyred, so pray for his forgiveness." The people did so. "Then, Ja'far bin Abi Talib took the banner and fiercely attacked the enemy until he was also martyred. I bear witness to his martyrdom, so pray for his forgiveness." "Then, Abdullah bin Rawaha took the banner and stood firm with great courage until he was also martyred. Pray for his forgiveness too." "Then, Khalid bin Walid took the banner, although no one had appointed him as commander." Then, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised his finger and said, "O Allah! He is one of Your swords, so grant him victory." From that day onwards, Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) came to be known as "Sayf Allah" (Sword of Allah). Then, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "March forth to help your brothers, and let no one stay behind." So, despite the intense heat, the people set off on foot and on their mounts.

خالد بن سمیر کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہمارے یہاں عبداللہ بن رباح آئے میں نے دیکھا کہ ان کے پاس بہت سے لوگ جمع ہیں اور وہ کہہ رہے ہیں کہ ہمیں " فارس رسول " حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بتایا ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے " جیش امراء " نامی لشکر کو روانہ کرتے ہوئے فرمایا تمہارے امیر زید بن حارثہ ہیں اگر زید شہید ہوجائیں تو جعفر امیر ہوں گے اگر جعفر بھی شہید ہوجائیں تو عبداللہ بن رواحہ انصاری امیر ہوں گے اس پر حضرت جعفر رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا اے اللہ کے نبی! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں میرے خیال نہیں تھا کہ آپ زید کو مجھ پر امیر مقرر کریں گے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم روانہ ہوجاؤ کیونکہ تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ کس بات میں خیر ہے؟
چنانچہ وہ لشکر روانہ ہوگیا کچھ عرصہ گذرنے کے بعد ایک دن نبی کریم ﷺ منبر پر رونق افروز ہوئے اور " نماز تیار ہے " کی منادی کرنے کا حکم دیا اور فرمایا ایک افسوس ناک خبر ہے کیا میں تمہیں مجاہدین کے اس لشکر کے متعلق نہ بتاؤں؟ وہ لوگ یہاں سے روانہ ہوئے اور دشمن سے آمنا سامنا ہوا تو زید شہید ہوگئے ان کے لئے بخشش کی دعاء کرو لوگوں نے ایسا ہی کیا پھر جعفر بن ابی طالب نے جھنڈا پکڑا اور دشمن پر سخت حملہ کیا حتٰی کہ وہ بھی شہید ہوگئے میں ان کی شہادت کی گواہی دیتا ہوں لہٰذا ان کی بخشش کے لئے دعاء کرو پھر عبداللہ بن رواحہ نے جھنڈا پکڑا اور نہایت پامردی سے ڈٹے رہے حتیٰ کہ وہ بھی شہید ہوگئے ان کے لئے بھی استغفار کرو پھر خالد بن ولید نے جھنڈا پکڑ لیا گو کہ کسی نے انہیں امیر منتخب نہیں کیا تھا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے اپنی انگلی بلند کر کے فرمایا اے اللہ! وہ تیری تلواروں میں سے ایک تلوار ہے تو اس کی مدد فرما اسی دن سے حضرت خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ عنہ کا نام " سیف اللہ " پڑگیا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اپنے بھائیوں کی مدد کے لئے کوچ کرو اور کوئی آدمی بھی پیچھے نہ رہے چنانچہ اس سخت گرمی کے موسم میں لوگ پیدل اور سوار ہو کر روانہ ہوگئے۔
Khalid bin Sameer kehte hain keh aik martaba hamare yahan Abdullah bin Rabah aye main ne dekha keh un ke pass bahut se log jama hain aur wo keh rahe hain keh humein "Faris Rasul" Hazrat Abu Qatada (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne bataya hai keh aik martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne "Jaish Umra" nami lashkar ko rawana karte huye farmaya tumhare ameer Zaid bin Haritha hain agar Zaid shaheed hojain to Jaafar ameer honge agar Jaafar bhi shaheed hojain to Abdullah bin Rawah Ansaari ameer honge is par Hazrat Jaafar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya aye Allah ke Nabi! Mere maan baap aap par qurban hon mere khayal nahin tha keh aap Zaid ko mujh par ameer muqarrar karenge Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum rawana hojao kyunki tumhein maloom nahin keh kis baat mein khair hai? Chunancha wo lashkar rawana hogaya kuch arsa guzarne ke baad aik din Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mimbar par ronak afroz huye aur "Namaz tayyar hai" ki munaddi karne ka hukum diya aur farmaya aik afsos nak khabar hai kya main tumhein mujahidin ke is lashkar ke mutalliq na bataun? Wo log yahan se rawana huye aur dushman se aamna samna hua to Zaid shaheed hogaye un ke liye bakhshish ki dua karo logon ne aisa hi kiya phir Jaafar bin Abi Talib ne jhanda pakra aur dushman par sakht hamla kiya hatta keh wo bhi shaheed hogaye main un ki shahadat ki gawahi deta hun lihaza un ki bakhshish ke liye dua karo phir Abdullah bin Rawah ne jhanda pakra aur nihayat pamardi se date rahe hatta keh wo bhi shaheed hogaye un ke liye bhi istighfar karo phir Khalid bin Waleed ne jhanda pakar liya go keh kisi ne unhein ameer muntakhib nahin kiya tha phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni ungli buland kar ke farmaya aye Allah! Wo teri talwaron mein se aik talwar hai to us ki madad farma isi din se Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ka naam "Saifullah" par gaya phir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya apne bhaiyon ki madad ke liye koche karo aur koi aadmi bhi peeche na rahe chunancha is sakht garmi ke mausam mein log paidal aur sawar ho kar rawana hogaye.
