(292) Narrated Hamran: That `Uthman performed ablution three times at his sitting place and said: Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performing ablution, and I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "If anyone performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then prays, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer) and the (next) prayer, till he offers (that) prayer."
(b) Imam Shafi`i used this hadith as proof of repeating the wiping (of the head). This hadith is general, and the narrators of the hadiths explaining it are Hamran. They mention repeating the washing of the limbs except the head.
(c) Abu Dawud Sijistani said: All the hadiths narrated from `Uthman are authentic; they mention wiping the head once. That is, the hadiths mention washing the rest of the limbs three times and wiping the head once.
(d) Shaykh said: The hadiths narrated from `Uthman with a weak chain of narration mention repeating the wiping. However, these hadiths contradict trustworthy Huffaz and are not considered reliable by the scholars of Hadith, although some of our companions have used them as proof.

(٢٩٢) سیدنا حمران سے روایت ہے کہ سیدنا عثمان (رض) نے بیٹھنے کی جگہ پر تین مرتبہ وضو کیا اور فرمایا : اسی طرح میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا اور میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے : ” جو شخص اچھی طرح وضو کرے، پھر نماز پڑھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے دوسری نماز کے درمیان والے گناہوں کو معاف کردیتا ہے، یہاں تک وہ نماز ادا کرلے۔ “
(ب) امام شافعی (رض) نے مسح کے تکرار میں اس حدیث کو دلیل بنایا ہے، یہ روایت مطلق ہے اور وہ روایات جو مفسر ہیں ان کے راوی سیدنا حمران ہیں۔ ان میں سر کے علاوہ باقی اعضاء میں تکرار کا ذکر ہے۔
(ج) امام ابوداؤدسجستانی فرماتے ہیں : سیدنا عثمان (رض) والی تمام روایات صحیح ہیں، ان میں سر کے مسح کا ایک مرتبہ ذکر ہے۔ یعنی احادیث میں باقی اعضا تین مرتبہ دھونے کا ذکر ہے اور سر کے مسح کا ایک مرتبہ ۔
(د) شیخ فرماتے ہیں : سیدنا عثمان (رض) سے سند غریب کے ساتھ منقول روایات میں مسح کے تکرار کا ذکر ہے، لیکن یہ روایات ثقہ حفاظ کے خلاف ہیں اور محدثین کے نزدیک قابل حجت نہیں، اگرچہ ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے دلیل پکڑی ہے۔
(292) Syedna Humran se riwayat hai ki Syedna Usman (RA) ne bethne ki jaga par teen martaba wuzu kiya aur farmaya: Isi tarah maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko wuzu karte huye dekha aur maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko farmate huye suna hai: "Jo shakhs achhi tarah wuzu kare, phir namaz parhe to Allah Ta'ala uske dusri namaz ke darmiyan wale gunahon ko maaf kar deta hai, yahan tak woh namaz ada karle."
(b) Imam Shafai (RA) ne masah ke takrar mein is hadees ko daleel banaya hai, yeh riwayat mutlaq hai aur woh riwayat jo mufassir hain unke ravi Syedna Humran hain. In mein sar ke ilawa baqi aaza mein takrar ka zikr hai.
(j) Imam Abu Dawood Sijistani farmate hain: Syedna Usman (RA) wali tamam riwayat sahih hain, in mein sar ke masah ka ek martaba zikr hai. Yaani ahadees mein baqi aaza teen martaba dhone ka zikr hai aur sar ke masah ka ek martaba.
(d) Sheikh farmate hain: Syedna Usman (RA) se sanad ghareeb ke sath manqool riwayat mein masah ke takrar ka zikr hai, lekin yeh riwayat saqah hufaz ke khilaf hain aur muhaddiseen ke nazdeeq qabil-e-hujjat nahin, agarchi hamare baaz as'hab ne daleel pakri hai.
Our leader Hamran (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing ablution. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) washed his hands three times, and washed his face and arms three times, and wiped his head three times, and washed his feet three times. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution in this way and said: ‘Whoever performs ablution less than this, it will suffice him.’"

(٢٩٣) سیدنا حمران (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے ہاتھوں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے چہرے اور بازوؤں کو تین تین مرتبہ دھویا، اپنے سر کا تین مرتبہ مسح کیا اور اپنے پاؤں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا۔ پھر فرمایا : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسی طرح وضو کیا اور فرمایا : ” جس نے اس وضو سے کم وضو کیا وہ بھی اس کو کفایت کر جائے گا۔ “
293 Sayyidina Hamran (RA) farmate hain ke maine Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko wuzu karte huye dekha, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne hathon ko teen martaba dhoya aur apne chehre aur bazuon ko teen teen martaba dhoya, apne sar ka teen martaba masah kiya aur apne paon ko teen martaba dhoya. Phir farmaya: Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne isi tarah wuzu kiya aur farmaya: "Jisne is wuzu se kam wuzu kiya woh bhi usko kafiyat kar jayega."
Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abi Maryam said: I went to Ibn Darah, the freed slave of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) at his house and he said to me: “Will you perform ablution?" Then he said, “O Muhammad! Shall I not show you the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" I said: "Why not!" He said: “I saw Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) wanting to make ablution so he asked for a utensil of water, he then rinsed his mouth three times, sniffed water into his nose three times and washed his face and arms three times and wiped his head three times, and then washed his feet. Then he said: 'Whoever wants to see how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution, let him look at my ablution.' Besides him (other narrators) have mentioned washing the feet three times also.

(٢٩٤) محمد بن عبداللہ بن ابی مریم فرماتے ہیں کہ میں سیدنا عثمان (رض) کے غلام ابن دارہ کے پاس ان کے گھر گیا تو انھوں نے مجھ سے فرمایا : کیا تو کلی کرے گا ؟ پھر فرمایا : اے محمد ! میں نے کہا : جی ! انھوں نے فرمایا : کیا میں تم کو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا وضو نہ بتلاؤں ؟ میں نے کہا : کیوں نہیں ! انھوں نے فرمایا : میں نے سیدنا عثمان بن عفان (رض) کو بیٹھنے کی جگہ دیکھا، انھوں نے ایک برتن منگوایا، پھر تین مرتبہ کلی کی، تین مرتبہ ناک میں پانی چڑھایا اور تین مرتبہ اپنے چہرے اور بازوؤں کو دھویا اور تین مرتبہ سر کا مسح کیا، پھر اپنے قدموں کو دھویا۔ پھر فرمایا : جس شخص کو پسند ہو کہ وہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے وضو کا طریقہ دیکھے تو وہ میرے اس وضو کو دیکھ لے۔ ان کے علاوہ (دوسرے راویوں) نے پاؤں کو بھی تین مرتبہ دھونے کا ذکر کیا ہے۔
294 Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abi Maryam farmate hain ke main Sayyiduna Uthman (Razi Allahu Anhu) ke ghulam Ibn Darah ke paas unke ghar gaya to unhon ne mujh se farmaya: kya tu kuli kare ga? Phir farmaya: Aye Muhammad! Main ne kaha: Ji! Unhon ne farmaya: kya main tum ko Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka wuzu na bataun? Main ne kaha: kyun nahin! Unhon ne farmaya: main ne Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (Razi Allahu Anhu) ko baithne ki jagah dekha, unhon ne ek bartan mangwaya, phir teen martaba kuli ki, teen martaba naak mein pani charhaya aur teen martaba apne chehre aur bazuon ko dhoya aur teen martaba sar ka masah kiya, phir apne qadmon ko dhoya. Phir farmaya: Jis shakhs ko pasand ho ke woh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke wuzu ka tariqah dekhe to woh mere is wuzu ko dekh le. Un ke ilawa (dusre raviyon) ne paon ko bhi teen martaba dhone ka zikr kiya hai.
Shafiq bin Salmah narrated: I saw 'Uthman bin 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution. He washed his palms three times, rinsed his mouth and put water in his nose three times, washed his face three times, washed his forearms up to the elbows three times, wiped his head, and passed wet fingers over the front and back of his ears three times. Then he washed his feet three times and rubbed water between his toes. He said, "I have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) perform ablution in this way, just as you have seen me."

(٢٩٥) شفیق بن سلمہ فرماتے ہیں : میں نے سیدنا عثمان بن عفان (رض) کو وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا، انھوں نے تین مرتبہ ہتھیلیوں کو دھویا، پھر کلی کی اور تین مرتبہ ناک میں پانی چڑھایا، پھر اپنے چہرے کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے بازوؤں کو بھی تین مرتبہ دھویا اپنے سرکا اور اپنے کانوں کے ظاہری اور اندرونی حصوں کا تین مرتبہ مسح کیا، اپنی داڑھی کا خلال کیا اور اپنے پاؤں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے پاؤں کی انگلیوں کا خلال کیا اور فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو ایسے ہی وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے جس طرح تم نے مجھے دیکھا ہے۔
295 Shafiq bin Salma farmate hain : maine Sayyidna Usman bin Affan (RA) ko wuzu karte huye dekha, unhon ne teen martaba hatheliyon ko dhoya, phir qulli ki aur teen martaba naak mein pani charhaya, phir apne chehre ko teen martaba dhoya aur apne bazuon ko bhi teen martaba dhoya apne sar ka aur apne kaanon ke zahiri aur andaruni hisson ka teen martaba masah kiya, apni darhi ka khilal kiya aur apne paon ko teen martaba dhoya aur apne paon ki ungliyon ka khilal kiya aur farmaya : maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko aise hi wuzu karte huye dekha hai jis tarah tumne mujhe dekha hai.
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna `Uthman bin `Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he performed ablution: He washed his hands three times, rinsed his nose three times, rinsed his mouth three times, washed his face three times, washed his arms up to the elbows three times each, wiped his head three times, and washed his feet up to the ankles three times each. Then he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing ablution in this manner."

(٢٩٦) سیدنا عثمان بن عفان (رض) سے منقول ہے کہ انھوں نے وضو فرمایا، اپنے ہاتھوں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور تین مرتبہ ناک جھاڑا، تین مرتبہ کلی کی اور اپنے چہرے کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے ہاتھوں کو کہنیوں سمیت تین تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے سر کا تین بار مسح کیا اور دونوں پاؤں کو تین تین مرتبہ دھویا، پھر کہتے ہیں : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اسی طرح وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔
(ب) عطاء بن ابی رباح سیدنا عثمان سے مرسلاً نقل فرماتے ہیں۔
(ج) سیدنا علی (رض) سے غریب اسناد کے ساتھ منقول روایات بیان کردی گئی ہیں، اس روایت کے علاوہ باقی محفوظ روایات ہیں۔
(296) Sayyidina Usman bin Affan (RA) se manqol hai keh unhon ne wuzu farmaya apne hathon ko teen martaba dhoya aur teen martaba nak jhada teen martaba kuli ki aur apne chehre ko teen martaba dhoya aur apne hathon ko kehniyon samet teen teen martaba dhoya aur apne sar ka teen bar masah kiya aur donon paon ko teen teen martaba dhoya phir kehte hain main ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko isi tarah wuzu karte huye dekha hai
(b) Ata bin Abi Rabah Sayyidina Usman se mursalan naql farmate hain
(j) Sayyidina Ali (RA) se ghareeb asnad ke sath manqol riwayat bayan kar di gai hain is riwayat ke ilawa baqi mahfooz riwayat hain
(297) Sayyidina Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) called for water, then performed ablution. He washed his palms three times and rinsed his mouth three times. He inhaled water into his nose three times and washed his face three times. He washed his arms three times each and wiped his head three times. He washed his feet three times each. Then he said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing ablution in this manner.”
(b) It has been narrated from Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him) that the wiping of the head should be done three times.
(c) In the narration of Khalid ibn Alqama, the repetition of wiping the head is not mentioned. Similarly, one group has narrated a rare narration from Sayyidina Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).

(٢٩٧) سیدنا علی بن ابی طالب (رض) نے پانی منگوایا، پھر وضو کیا، اپنی ہتھیلیوں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور تین مرتبہ کلی کی، تین مرتبہ ناک میں پانی چڑھایا اور اپنے چہرے کو تین مرتبہ دھویا، اپنے بازوؤں کو تین تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے سر کا تین بار مسح کیا اور اپنے قدموں کو تین تین مرتبہ دھویا۔ پھر فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اسی طرح وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا۔
(ب) امام ابوحنیفہ (رح) سے سر کے مسح کا تین دفعہ کرنا منقول ہے۔
(ج) خالد بن علقمہ والی روایت میں سر کے مسح کا تکرار نہیں ہے، اسی طرح ایک جماعت نے سیدنا علی (رض) سے شاذ روایت نقل کی ہے۔
(297) Syedna Ali bin Abi Talib (RA) ne pani manguaya, phir wuzu kiya, apni hatheliyon ko teen martaba dhoya aur teen martaba kuli ki, teen martaba nak mein pani charhaya aur apne chehre ko teen martaba dhoya, apne bazuon ko teen teen martaba dhoya aur apne sar ka teen bar masah kiya aur apne qadmon ko teen teen martaba dhoya. Phir farmaya: mein ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko isi tarah wuzu karte huye dekha.
(b) Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) se sar ke masah ka teen dafa karna manqol hai.
(j) Khalid bin Alqama wali riwayat mein sar ke masah ka takrar nahi hai, isi tarah ek jamaat ne Syedna Ali (RA) se shaz riwayat naqal ki hai.
(298) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he performed ablution, washed his face and hands three times, wiped his head three times, and washed his feet three times. He then said, “I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing ablution in this manner.” Ibn Wahb narrated similarly, “He wiped his head three times.”
(b) In the narration of Ibn Juraij, it is stated that he wiped his head once.

(٢٩٨) (الف) سیدنا علی (رض) سے منقول ہے کہ انھوں نے وضو کیا، اپنے چہرے اور ہاتھوں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور تین مرتبہ اپنے سر کا مسح کیا اور اپنے پاؤں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا، پھر فرمایا : میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اسی طرح وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔ ابن وہب بھی اسی طرح فرماتے ہیں : سر کا تین مرتبہ مسح کیا۔
(ب) ابن جریج والی روایت میں ہے کہ اپنے سر کا ایک مرتبہ مسح کیا۔
(298) (alif) Sayyidina Ali (RA) se manqol hai ki unhon ne wuzu kiya, apne chehre aur hathon ko teen martaba dhoya aur teen martaba apne sar ka masah kiya aur apne paon ko teen martaba dhoya, phir farmaya : mein ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko isi tarah wuzu karte huye dekha hai. Ibn Wahab bhi isi tarah farmate hain : sar ka teen martaba masah kiya.
(b) Ibn Juraij wali riwayat mein hai ki apne sar ka ek martaba masah kiya.
**(299) (a) Narrated Abdullah bin Zaid (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution by washing his face three times, and his hands twice, and passed wet hands over his head twice, and washed his feet twice. Imam Nasai (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated in "Kitab us-Sunan" from Sufyan bin `Uyainah, similar to this, in which the wiping of the head is mentioned twice.
(b) `Amr bin Yahya narrated that he wiped his head once, and said that he passed wet hands over his hands from front to back and back to front.**

(٢٩٩) (الف) عبداللہ بن زید (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے وضو کیا، اپنے چہرے کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور اپنے ہاتھوں کو دو مرتبہ اور اپنے سر کا دو مرتبہ مسح کیا اور اپنے پاؤں کو دو مرتبہ دھویا۔
امام نسائی (رح) نے ” کتاب السنن “ میں سفیان بن عیینہ سے اسی طرح روایت نقل کی ہے، جس میں سر کے مسح کا دو مرتبہ ذکر ہے۔
(ب) عمرو بن یحییٰ سر کا ایک مرتبہ مسح کرنا نقل فرماتے ہیں اور فرماتے ہیں کہ ہاتھوں کو آگے سے پیچھے لے گئے اور پیچھے سے آگے لے آئے۔
(299) (alif) Abdullah bin Zaid (RA) se riwayat hai ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne wazu kiya, apne chehre ko teen martaba dhoya aur apne hathon ko do martaba aur apne sar ka do martaba masah kiya aur apne paon ko do martaba dhoya.
Imam Nasai (RA) ne "Kitab us-Sunan" mein Sufiyan bin Uyainah se isi tarah riwayat naqal ki hai, jis mein sar ke masah ka do martaba zikar hai.
(be) Amr bin Yahya sar ka ek martaba masah karna naqal farmate hain aur farmate hain ki hathon ko aage se peeche le gaye aur peeche se aage le aaye.
(300) (a) Rubai' bint Mu'adh bin 'Afra' (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to visit us. The narrator says: Rubai' (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated the hadith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "Pour water for me." So I poured water for him in a small vessel, then you took a handful or a third or a quarter of water, then said: "Pour water on my hand." Then you washed your palms three times and said: "Keep this (vessel)." She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution and I was watching that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) washed your face three times, rinsed your mouth and put water in your nose once and washed your right and left hands three times, then wiped your head twice, starting from the front of your head and bringing it to the back, then starting from the front of your head and bringing it to the back, then wiped the outer and inner parts of your ears and washed your right and left feet three times.
(b) In one narration it is: Then he started from the back of the head, then did the front.
(c) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to wipe his head three times and take new water each time.

(٣٠٠) (الف) ربیع بنت معوذ بن عفرائ (رض) فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہمارے پاس آیا کرتے تھے۔ راوی کہتا ہے : ربیع (رض) نے حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے مجھ سے فرمایا : میرے لیے پانی ڈالو، میں نے آپ کے لیے ایک چھوٹے برتن میں پانی ڈالا تو آپ نے ایک مد اور ایک تہائی یا چوتھائی حصہ پانی لیا ، پھر فرمایا : میرے ہاتھ پر پانی ڈالو، پھر آپ نے اپنی ہتھیلیوں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا اور فرمایا : اس (برتن) کو رکھ دے۔ فرماتی ہیں : رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے وضو کیا اور میں دیکھ رہی تھی کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے چہرے کو تین مرتبہ دھویا، کلی کی اور ایک مرتبہ ناک میں پانی چڑھایا اور اپنے دائیں اور بائیں ہاتھ کو تین مرتبہ دھویا، پھر اپنے سر کا دو مرتبہ مسح کیا، اپنے سر کے پچھلے حصے سے شروع کیا اور اگلے حصے تک لے آئے، پھر سر کے پچھلے حصے سے شروع کیا اور اگلے حصے تک لے آئے پھر اپنے کانوں کے ظاہری اور اندرونی حصوں کا مسح کیا اور اپنے دائیں اور بائیں پاؤں کو تین مرتبہ دھویا۔
(ب) ایک روایت میں ہے : پھر سر کے پچھلے حصے سے شروع کیا، پھر اگلے حصے پر کیا۔
(ج) سیدنا انس (رض) سے روایات ہے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنے سر کا تین مرتبہ مسح کرتے تھے اور ہر مرتبہ نیا پانی لیتے تھے۔
(300) (alif) Rubai bint Muadh bin Afra (RA) farmati hain keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) humare paas aya karte thay. Rawi kehta hai: Rubai (RA) ne hadees bayaan ki keh Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne mujhse farmaya: mere liye pani dalo, maine aap ke liye ek chhote bartan mein pani dala to aap ne ek mudd aur ek tihai ya chauthai hissa pani liya, phir farmaya: mere hath per pani dalo, phir aap ne apni hatheliyon ko teen martaba dhoya aur farmaya: iss (bartan) ko rakh de. Farmati hain: Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne wuzu kiya aur main dekh rahi thi keh aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne chehre ko teen martaba dhoya, kulli ki aur ek martaba naak mein pani charhaya aur apne dayen aur baayen hath ko teen martaba dhoya, phir apne sar ka do martaba masah kiya, apne sar ke pichle hisse se shuru kiya aur agle hisse tak le aaye, phir sar ke pichle hisse se shuru kiya aur agle hisse tak le aaye phir apne kaanon ke zahiri aur andaruni hisson ka masah kiya aur apne dayen aur baayen paon ko teen martaba dhoya.
(be) Ek riwayat mein hai: phir sar ke pichle hisse se shuru kiya, phir agle hisse per kiya.
(jeem) Sayyiduna Anas (RA) se riwayat hai keh aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) apne sar ka teen martaba masah karte thay aur har martaba naya pani lete thay.
'Uthman bin 'Abd al-Rahman Taa'imi said that Ibn Abi Mulaikah was asked about ablution, so he said: I saw 'Uthman bin 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), and he was also asked about ablution. He asked for water... Then he narrated a long hadith, saying: He (Uthman) took water and wiped his head and ears, washing the outer and inner parts of his ears once. Then he washed his feet, and asked: Where is the one who asked about ablution? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform ablution like this (as I have done).

(٣٠١) عثمان بن عبد الرحمن تیمی کہتے ہیں کہ ابن ابی ملیکہ سے وضو کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : میں نے سیدنا عثمان بن عفان (رض) کو دیکھا، ان سے بھی وضو کے بارے میں سوال کیا گیا، انھوں نے پانی منگوایا۔۔۔ پھر لمبی حدیث بیان کی، فرمایا : انھوں نے پانی لیا اور اپنے سر اور کانوں کا مسح کیا، ایک ہی مرتبہ کانوں کے ظاہری اور اندرونی حصے کو دھویا، پھر اپنے پاؤں کو دھویا پھر پوچھا : وضو کے بارے میں سوال کرنے والے کہاں ہیں ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اسی طرح وضو کیا کرتے تھے (جس طرح میں نے کیا ہے) ۔
301 Usman bin Abdur Rahman Taimi kehte hain ki Ibn Abi Malika se wuzu ke bare mein poocha gaya to unhon ne farmaya : mein ne Sayyidina Usman bin Affan (RA) ko dekha, un se bhi wuzu ke bare mein sawal kiya gaya, unhon ne pani mangwaya... phir lambi hadees bayaan ki, farmaya : unhon ne pani liya aur apne sar aur kaano ka masah kiya, ek hi martaba kaano ke zahiri aur andaruni hisse ko dhoya, phir apne paon ko dhoya phir poocha : wuzu ke bare mein sawal karne wale kahan hain ? Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) isi tarah wuzu kiya karte the (jis tarah mein ne kiya hai) .
It is narrated on the authority of Rubai' bint Mu'awwidh (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiped over the outer part and the inside of his ears.

(٣٠٢) ربیع بنت معوذ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے کانوں کے ظاہری اور اندرونی حصے کا مسح کیا۔

Hamid said that Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) performed ablution while we were with him. He wiped his ears, both the outer and inner parts. Then he looked at our ablution and said: Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to command us to do so.

(٣٠٣) حمید کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا انس (رض) نے وضو کیا، ہم آپ کے پاس تھے، آپ نے کانوں کے ظاہری اور اندرونی حصوں کا مسح کیا تو ہماری وضو کی طرف غور سے دیکھا اور فرمایا : سیدنا ابن مسعود (رض) ہمیں اس کا حکم دیا کرتے تھے۔
(303) Hameed kehty hain ky Syedna Anas (RA) ny wuzu kiya hum ap ky pass thy ap ny kanoon ky zahiri aur andaruni hisson ka masah kiya tou hamari wuzu ki taraf ghour sy dekha aur farmaya Syedna Ibn Masood (RA) humain is ka hukum diya karty thy.
Hamid said: I saw Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution, and he wiped his ears, both inside and out. We looked at him (in surprise) and he said: Ibn Umm Abd (Abdullah bin Masud (may Allah be pleased with him)) used to command us to do so.

(٣٠٤) حمید کہتے ہیں : میں نے سیدنا انس بن مالک (رض) کو وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا، انھوں نے اپنے کانوں کے ظاہری اور اندرونی حصوں کا مسح کیا، ہم نے ان کی طرف دیکھا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : ابن ام عبد (عبداللہ بن مسعود (رض) ) ہم کو یہی حکم دیا کرتے تھے۔
