Salma bin Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I participated in seven battles with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and in seven of the military expeditions that he sent out. Sometimes, our commander was Abu Bakr and sometimes Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him). In another narration, nine military expeditions are mentioned.

(١٧٨٩٨) حضرت سلمہ بن اکوع (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ سات غزوات میں شریک ہوا اور جو آپ نے لشکر روانہ کیے ان میں سے بھی ساتھ میں میں شریک تھا کبھی ہم پر سپہ سالار ابوبکر ہوتے اور کبھی اسامہ بن زید (رض) ۔ ایک حدیث میں نو لشکروں کا ذکر ہے۔
Hazrat Salma bin Akwa (RA) farmate hain ke main Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath saat ghazwaat mein shareek hua aur jo aap ne lashkar rawana kiye un mein se bhi saat mein main shareek tha kabhi hum par sipah salar Abubakar hote aur kabhi Usama bin Zaid (RA). Ek hadees mein nau lashkaron ka zikar hai.
Salma bin Akwa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I participated in seven battles with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and nine battles with Zaid bin Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) appointed Zaid bin Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him) as our commander.

(١٧٨٩٩) حضرت سلمہ بن اکوع (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ سات اور زید بن حارثہ کے ساتھ نو غزوات میں شریک ہوا۔ حضرت زید بن حارثہ (رض) کو آپ نے ہمارا امیر مقرر کیا تھا۔
Hazrat Salma bin Akwa (RA) farmate hain keh mein Rasool Allah (SAW) ke sath saat aur Zaid bin Haritha ke sath nau ghazwat mein shareek hua. Hazrat Zaid bin Haritha (RA) ko aap ne hamara ameer muqarrar kiya tha.
Abdullah bin Buraidah (R.A.) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) appointed Amr bin Al-Aas (R.A.) as the commander of an army, and Abu Bakr and Umar (R.A.) were also in that army. When they reached the place of battle, Amr bin Al-Aas (R.A.) ordered the army not to light any fire. Umar (R.A.) got angry and intended to go to him, but Abu Bakr (R.A.) stopped him, saying, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) appointed him as the commander because he has knowledge of warfare." So, Umar (R.A.) calmed down.

(١٧٩٠٠) حضرت عبداللہ بن بریدہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے حضرت عمرو بن عاص (رض) کو لشکر کا امیر بنا کر بھیجا۔ جبکہ لشکر میں ابوبکر و عمر (رض) بھی تھے۔ جب جنگ کے مقام پر پہنچے تو حضرت عمرو (رض) نے لشکر کو حکم دیا کہ آگ نہ جلائیں حضرت عمر (رض) غصہ ہوئے اور ان کے پاس جانے کا ارادہ کیا تو حضرت ابوبکر (رض) نے روک دیا اور ان کو کہا کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کو امیر اسی لیے بنایا ہے کیونکہ وہ امور جنگ جانتے ہیں تو حضرت عمر (رض) رک گئے۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Buraidah (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne Hazrat Amr bin Aas (RA) ko lashkar ka ameer bana kar bheja jabkeh lashkar mein Abubakar o Umar (RA) bhi thay. Jab جنگ ke muqam par pahunche tou Hazrat Amr (RA) ne lashkar ko hukm diya keh aag na jalayen Hazrat Umar (RA) ghussa hue aur unke pass jane ka irada kiya tou Hazrat Abubakar (RA) ne rok diya aur unko kaha keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne unko ameer isi liye banaya hai kyunkeh woh umoor jang jante hain tou Hazrat Umar (RA) ruk gaye.
Abu Malih narrated that Ubaidullah bin Ziyad went to visit Ma'qal bin Yasar while he was ill. Ma'qal (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: “I will narrate to you a hadith which I would not have narrated had my death not been near. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'The one who is appointed over the affairs of the Muslims, yet does not strive for their benefit, nor looks after them with sincerity, will not enter Paradise with them.'”

(١٧٩٠١) حضرت ابو ملیح سے روایت ہے کہ عبیداللہ بن زیاد معقل بن یسار کی تیمار داری کے لیے گئے تو حضرت معقل (رض) نے ان سے کہا : میں تجھ کو ایسی حدیث سنا رہا ہوں، اگر میری موت قریب نہ ہوتی تو میں نہ بتاتا۔ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنا ہے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : جو مسلمانوں کا والی ہو اور وہ ان کے لیے جدوجہد نہ کرے اور ان کی خیر خواہی نہ کرے وہ اپنی قوم کے ساتھ جنت میں نہیں جائے گا۔
Hazrat Abu Malih se riwayat hai ki Ubaidullah bin Ziyad Maqal bin Yasar ki timardari ke liye gaye to Hazrat Maqal (RA) ne un se kaha : mein tumhen aisi hadees suna raha hun, agar meri maut qareeb na hoti to mein na batata. Mein ne Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suna hai aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : jo musalmanon ka wali ho aur wo un ke liye jihad na kare aur un ki khair khwahi na kare wo apni qaum ke sath jannat mein nahin jayega.
(17902) Ubaidullah bin Ziyad went to visit Ma'qal bin Yasar Muzani, who passed away during this illness. Ma'qal bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will narrate a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he said: If I knew that my life was still remaining, I would not have narrated this hadith. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever Allah appoints as a guardian over a people and he deceives his people, then whenever he dies, Allah has forbidden Paradise for him."
Sulaiman bin Buraidah narrates from his father that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would send out an army and appoint an Amir over them, he would specifically advise him regarding righteousness and advise him to do good to the Muslims who were with him.

(١٧٩٠٢) حضرت عبیداللہ بن زیاد حضرت معقل بن یسار مزنی کی عیادت کے لیے گئے۔ اس مرض میں ہی آپ فوت ہوگئے تھے۔ حضرت معقل بن یسار (رض) نے کہا : میں ایک حدیث بیان کروں گا جو میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنی ہے اور انھوں نے کہا : اگر مجھے علم ہوتا کہ میری زندگی ابھی باقی ہے تو میں یہ حدیث نہ بیان کرتا۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” جس بندے کو اللہ کسی قوم کا نگران بنا دے اور وہ اپنی قوم کو دھوکا دے تو وہ جب بھی مرے گا تو اللہ نے اس پر جنت حرام کردی ہے۔
سلیمان بن بریدہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کسی لشکر کو روانہ کرتے اور ان کا امیر مقرر کرتے تو اس کو خاص تقویٰ کی نصیحت کرتے اور جو مسلمان اس کے ساتھ ہوتے ان کے ساتھ بھلائی کی نصیحت کرتے۔
17902 Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Ziyad Hazrat Maqal bin Yasar Mazni ki ayadat ke liye gaye Iss marz mein hi aap foot hogaye the Hazrat Maqal bin Yasar (RA) ne kaha main ek hadees bayaan karunga jo maine Rasul Allah (SAW) se suni hai aur unhon ne kaha agar mujhe ilm hota ki meri zindagi abhi baqi hai to main yeh hadees na bayaan karta Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya jis bande ko Allah kisi qaum ka nigraan bana de aur wo apni qaum ko dhoka de to wo jab bhi marega to Allah ne uss par jannat haram kardi hai Sulaiman bin Buraidah apne walid se naqal farmate hain ki jab Rasul Allah (SAW) kisi lashkar ko rawana karte aur unka ameer muqarrar karte to uss ko khas taqwa ki nasihat karte aur jo musalman uske sath hote unke sath bhalayi ki nasihat karte
Abu Ishaq's father said: We were with Jarir bin Abdullah. When we became hungry, Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) and wrote this saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that “Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him." So Muawiya wrote that they should come back and Muawiya gave them wealth. Abu Ishaq said: I got a tent out of it.

(١٧٩٠٣) ابو اسحاق کے والد کہتے ہیں کہ ہم جریر بن عبداللہ کے ساتھ تھے۔ ہمیں بھوک لاحق ہوئی تو جریر بن عبداللہ (رض) نے حضرت معاویہ (رض) کو خط لکھا اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کا یہ فرمان لکھا کہ ” جو لوگوں پر رحم نہیں کرتا اللہ اس پر رحم نہیں کرتا۔ “ تو معاویہ نے لکھا کہ وہ لوٹ آئیں اور معاویہ نے ان کو مال دیا۔ ابو اسحاق کہتے ہیں : میں نے اس میں سے ایک چادر پائی تھی۔
17903 Abu Ishaq ke walid kahte hain ki hum Jarir bin Abdullah ke sath the. Hamein bhook lahaq hui to Jarir bin Abdullah (rz) ne Hazrat Muawiya (rz) ko khat likha aur Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka ye farman likha ki " Jo logon par reham nahin karta Allah us par reham nahin karta. " To Muawiya ne likha ki wo laut aayein aur Muawiya ne un ko maal diya. Abu Ishaq kahte hain : mein ne is mein se ek chadar payi thi.
Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: “Allah does not show mercy to him who does not show mercy to people.”

(١٧٩٠٤) حضرت جریر بن عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا : ” اللہ اس پر رحم نہیں کرتا جو لوگوں پر رحم نہیں کرتا۔
Hazrat Jarir bin Abdullah (RA) farmate hain ke maine Rasool Allah (SAW) ko farmate huye suna : " Allah us par reham nahin karta jo logon par reham nahin karta."
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-'As (May Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The Most Merciful (Allah) shows mercy to those who are merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth, and the One in the Heaven will have mercy upon you."

(١٧٩٠٥) حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” رحم کرنے والوں پر رحمن رحم کرتا ہے، تم زمین والوں پر مہربانی کرو تو آسمان والا تم پر مہربان ہوگا۔
(17905) Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (RA) se riwayat hai ke Rasulullah (SAW) ne farmaya: "Reham karne walon per Rahman reham karta hai, tum zameen walon per meharbani karo to aasman wala tum per meharban hoga."
Abu Usman Nihri said that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) assigned a task to a man from Bani Asad. When he returned after completing the work, a child was brought to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he kissed the child. The man said, "Do you kiss children? I have never kissed a child." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Your people are lacking in compassion. Return our work and never work for us again."

(١٧٩٠٦) حضرت ابو عثمان نہری فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) نے بنو اسد کے آدمی کے ذمہ ایک کام لگایا۔ جب وہ کام کر کے واپس آیا تو اس وقت حضرت عمر کے پاس ان کا کوئی بچہ لایا گیا تو انھوں نے اس کو بوسہ دیا تو اس نے کہا کہ کیا آپ اس کو بوسہ دیتے ہیں ! میں نے کبھی کسی بچے کو بوسہ نہیں دیا تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : تم لوگوں کے معاملہ میں مہربانی کم ہے ہمارا کام واپس کر دے اور آئندہ کبھی ہمارے لیے کام نہ کرنا۔
Hazrat Abu Usman Nahri farmate hain ki Hazrat Umar (RA) ne Banu Asad ke aadmi ke zimme ek kaam lagaya. Jab woh kaam kar ke wapas aaya to us waqt Hazrat Umar ke paas un ka koi bachcha laya gaya to unhon ne us ko bosa diya to usne kaha ki kya aap is ko bosa dete hain ! main ne kabhi kisi bachche ko bosa nahi diya to Hazrat Umar (RA) ne farmaya : Tum logon ke mamle mein mehrbani kam hai humara kaam wapas kar de aur aayinda kabhi humare liye kaam na karna.
Abu Firas narrates that I went to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was delivering a sermon to the people. He said, "O people! I have seen a time when people used to recite the Quran seeking only Allah's pleasure and reward. And I anticipate a time will come when a group among the later generations will recite the Quran to please people and earn worldly gains. Beware! Seek only Allah's pleasure through your recitation of the Quran. Beware! Strive to please Allah through your actions. Beware! We know you. When revelation was descending and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was among us, Allah informed us about you. Now, the revelation has ceased, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has passed away, and we know what you are told. Beware! Whatever good we see in you, we think good of you, like it, and approve of it. And whatever evil we observe, we disapprove of it and become angry. And your secrets lie between you and Allah. Beware! We send officials to teach you the religion and the Sunnah, not to beat you or seize your wealth. Beware! If anyone has doubts about these matters, they should approach us directly. By Allah, in whose hand is the life of Umar, I will take retribution from him."
Then Amr bin Al-Aas stood up and said, "O leader of the believers! If you send an official, and he strikes someone to discipline them, will you also take retribution from him?" Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Yes, by Allah, I will take retribution from him. I have witnessed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offering himself for Qisas (retaliatory punishment)." He continued, "Beware! Do not humiliate Muslims by beating them. Do not usurp their rights. Do not prevent them from returning to their homes and subject them to trials. And do not kill Muslims by forcing them to treacherous paths."

(١٧٩٠٧) حضرت ابو فراس فرماتے ہیں کہ میں حضرت عمر (رض) کے پاس گیا، وہ لوگوں کو وعظ کر رہے تھے کہ اے لوگو ! مجھ پر ایسا زمانہ گزرا ہے کہ میں نے لوگوں کو دیکھا وہ قرآن پڑھتے تھے بدلہ اللہ کی رضا اور اجر چاہتے تھے۔ پھر میں تصور کرتا ہوں کہ بعد والوں میں ایک قوم ہوگی جو قرآن پڑھے گی مگر لوگوں کو خوش کرنے کے لیے اور بدلہ میں دنیا کا مال حاصل کرنے کے لیے۔ خبردار تلاوت قرآن سے اللہ کی رضا طلب کرو۔ خبردار ! اپنے اعمال سے اللہ کو راضی کرو۔ خبردار ! ہم تم کو جانتے ہیں۔ جب وحی نازل ہو رہی تھی اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہمارے درمیان موجود تھے۔ اللہ نے ہمیں تمہارے بارے میں خبریں دے دی تھیں۔ اب وحی ختم ہوگئی اور نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) فوت ہوگئے اور ہم جانتے ہیں جو تم کو کہتے ہیں۔ خبردار ! جس میں ہم بھلائی دیکھتے ہیں اور بھلا خیال کرتے ہیں اور اس کو پسند کرتے ہیں اور جس میں برائی دیکھتے اس کو برا سمجھتے ہیں اور اس پر ناراض ہوتے ہیں اور تمہارے راز اللہ اور تمہارے درمیان ہے۔ خبردار ! ہم عمال کو بھیجتے ہیں تاکہ وہ تم کو دین اور سنت سکھائیں اس لیے نہیں بھیجتے کہ وہ تمہاری پیٹھ پر ماریں او نہ اس لیے کہ وہ تمہارا مال لے لیں۔ خبردار اگر کسی کو ان باتوں میں شک ہو تو وہ ہم تک پہنچائے۔ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں عمر کی جان ہے میں اس سے بدلہ لوں گا تو حضرت عمرو بن عاص کھڑے ہو کر کہنے لگے : اے امیر المؤمنین ! اگر آپ کسی عامل کو بھیجیں اور وہ ادب سکھانے کے لیے کسی کو مارے تو کیا اس سے بھی بدلہ لیں گے تو عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : ہاں اللہ کی قسم میں اس سے بھی بدلہ لوں گا۔ میں نے دیکھا ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) خود کو قصاص کے لیے پیش کرتے تھے۔ خبردار ! مسلمانوں کو مار کر ذلیل نہ کرو۔ ان کے حقوق غصب نہ کرو، ان کو گھر جانے سے روک کر فتنہ میں مبتلا نہ کرو اور دشوار گزار جگہ اتار کر مسلمانوں کو ہلاک نہ کرو۔
(17907) Hazrat Abu Faras farmate hain ki main Hazrat Umar (Raz) ke pass gaya, woh logon ko waz kar rahe the ke aye logo! mujh par aisa zamana guzra hai ke maine logon ko dekha woh Quran parhte the badla Allah ki raza aur ajr chahte the. phir main tasawwur karta hun ke baad walon mein ek qaum hogi jo Quran parhegi magar logon ko khush karne ke liye aur badla mein duniya ka maal hasil karne ke liye. khabardar tilawat Quran se Allah ki raza talab karo. khabardar! apne amal se Allah ko razi karo. khabardar! hum tum ko jante hain. jab wahi nazil ho rahi thi aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) humare darmiyan maujood the. Allah ne hamen tumhare bare mein khabren de di thin. ab wahi khatam hogai aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) فوت hogaye aur hum jante hain jo tum ko kahte hain. khabardar! jis mein hum bhalai dekhte hain aur bhala khayal karte hain aur us ko pasand karte hain aur jis mein burai dekhte us ko bura samajhte hain aur us par naraz hote hain aur tumhare raz Allah aur tumhare darmiyan hai. khabardar! hum ummal ko bhejte hain taake woh tum ko deen aur sunnat sikhaen is liye nahin bhejte ke woh tumhari peeth par maren o na is liye ke woh tumhara maal le len. khabardar agar kisi ko in baton mein shak ho to woh hum tak pahunchaye. is zaat ki qasam jis ke hath mein Umar ki jaan hai main is se badla lun ga to Hazrat Umar bin Aas kharre ho kar kahne lage: aye Amir-ul-momineen! agar aap kisi aamil ko bhejen aur woh adab sikahane ke liye kisi ko mare to kya us se bhi badla lenge to Umar (Raz) ne farmaya: haan Allah ki qasam mein us se bhi badla lun ga. maine dekha hai ke Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) khud ko qisas ke liye pesh karte the. khabardar! Musalmanon ko maar kar zaleel na karo. un ke huqooq ghasab na karo, un ko ghar jane se rok kar fitna mein mubtala na karo aur dushwar guzar jagah utar kar Musalmanon ko halak na karo.
Umar (RA) asked Anas bin Malik (RA): When you lay siege to a city, what method do you adopt? He said: We send a man towards the city and give him a leather shield. Umar (RA) asked: What if they stone him to death? He submitted: Then he would die. You (RA) said: So Umar (RA) said: By Allah! I do not like the loss of one Muslim even in return for the conquest of a city of forty thousand fighting men.

(١٧٩٠٨) حضرت عمر (رض) نے حضرت انس بن مالک (رض) سے پوچھا : جب تم کسی شہر کا محاصرہ کرتے ہو تو کیا طریقہ اختیار کرتے ہو ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ہم شہر کی طرف ایک آدمی کو شہر کی طرف بھیجتے ہیں اور اسے چمڑے کی ڈھال دیتے ہیں۔ حضرت عمر (رض) نے پوچھا : اگر اسے پتھر پھینک کر مالا جائے تو ؟ عرض کیا : پھر وہ مرجائے گا تو آپ (رض) نے فرمایا : تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے کہا : مجھے اللہ کی قسم ! ایک مسلمان کا ضیاع چار ہزار لڑائی کے قابل آدمیوں کے شہر کی فتح کے بدلہ میں بھی پسند نہیں ہے۔
Hazrat Umar (RA) ne Hazrat Anas bin Malik (RA) se poocha : Jab tum kisi shehar ka muhasira karte ho to kya tareeqa ikhtiyar karte ho ? Unhon ne kaha : Hum shehar ki taraf ek aadmi ko shehar ki taraf bhejte hain aur use chamre ki dhaal dete hain. Hazrat Umar (RA) ne poocha : Agar use pathar phenk kar maar diya jaye to ? Arz kiya : Phir wo mar jaye ga to aap (RA) ne farmaya : To Hazrat Umar (RA) ne kaha : Mujhe Allah ki qasam ! Ek musalman ka zaya chaar hazar larai ke qabil aadmiyon ke shehar ki fatah ke badle mein bhi pasand nahin hai.
Zaid bin Aslam's father narrates: A year came upon the Muslims when the price of ghee increased. Umar (ra) used to eat olives due to a stomach ailment. Yahya narrates that Umar (ra) used to eat oil. When it lessened, he said, "I will not eat it until the people eat it," whereas he used to eat oil due to his stomach issues. In Ibn Mukarma's narration, Umar (ra) said, addressing his stomach, "Grumble as much as you want, by Allah, I will not eat ghee until the people eat it." Then he said to me, "Remove its heat with fire." I used to cook it for him and he would eat it.

(١٧٩٠٩) حضرت زید بن اسلم کے والد فرماتے ہیں : مسلمانوں پر ایک ایسا سال آیا جس میں گھی کی قیمت بڑھ گئی اور حضرت عمر (رض) پیٹ کی خرابی کی وجہ سے زیتون کھاتے تھے اور یحییٰ کی روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر (رض) تیل کھاتے تھے۔ جب وہ کم ہوگیا تو انھوں نے کہا : اس وقت تک نہیں کھاؤں گا جب تک لوگ نہ کھائیں۔ جبکہ آپ پیٹ کے بولنے کی وجہ سے تیل کھایا کرتے تھے۔ ابن مکرم کی روایت میں ہے کہ عمر (رض) نے پیٹ کو مخاطب کر کے کہا : جتنا چاہے بول اللہ کی قسم تو اس وقت تک گھی نہیں کھائے گا جب تک لوگ نہ کھائیں گے۔ پھر انھوں نے مجھے کہا : اس کی گرمی کو آگ سے ختم کرو میں آپ کے لیے اس کو پکاتا تھا اور آپ کھاتے تھے۔
17909 Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam ke walid farmate hain: Musalmanon per ek aisa saal aaya jis mein ghee ki qeemat barh gayi aur Hazrat Umar (Raz) pet ki kharabi ki wajah se zaitoon khate the aur Yahya ki riwayat hai ki Hazrat Umar (Raz) tel khate the. Ibn Makram ki riwayat mein hai ki Umar (Raz) ne pet ko mukhatib kar ke kaha: Jitna chahe bol Allah ki qasam tu is waqt tak ghee nahin khaega jab tak log na khaen ge. Phir unhon ne mujhe kaha: Is ki garmi ko aag se khatam karo main aap ke liye is ko pakata tha aur aap khate the.
Hafsa, Ibn Muti, and Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) came to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "If you eat good food, it will strengthen you to do righteous deeds." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Is this the opinion of all of you?" They said, "Yes." So he said, "I know that you are well-wishers of mine, but I would rather follow the path of my two companions [the Prophet and Abu Bakr]. If I were to abandon their way, I would not be able to find them on the Day of Judgment." A year of hardship befell the people, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) did not eat ghee or roasted fatty meat for the entire year, until the people regained their strength and vitality.

(١٧٩١٠) حضرت حفصہ اور ابن مطیع اور عبداللہ بن عمر (رض) حضرت عمر (رض) کے پاس آئے اور آپ سے کہا کہ اگر آپ اچھا کھانا کھائیں تو یہ آپ کو حق کا کام کرنے کے لیے مضبوط کرے گا تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے کہا : کیا تم سب کی یہی رائے ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ہاں تو آپ نے فرمایا : میں جانتا ہوں تم میرے خیر خواہ ہو لیکن میں اپنے دونوں ساتھیوں کے راستہ کو چھوڑ دوں اور اگر میں نے ان کا طریقہ چھوڑ دیا تو میں قیامت کے دن ان کو نہیں پا سکوں گا۔ لوگوں پر تنگی کا سال آیا تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے پورا سال گھی نہیں کھایا اور نہ بھنا ہوا موٹا گوشت حتیٰ کہ لوگ جان میں آگئے اور ترو تازہ ہوگئے۔
(17910) Hazrat Hafsa aur Ibn Muta' aur Abdullah bin Umar (RA) Hazrat Umar (RA) ke paas aaye aur aap se kaha ke agar aap achha khana khayen to ye aap ko haq ka kaam karne ke liye mazboot kare ga to Hazrat Umar (RA) ne kaha: kya tum sab ki yehi raaye hai? Unhon ne kaha: haan. To aap ne farmaya: mein janta hun tum mere khair khwah ho lekin mein apne do sathiyon ke rasta ko chhor dun aur agar mein ne un ka tareeqa chhor diya to mein qayamat ke din un ko nahin pa sakun ga. Logon par tangi ka saal aaya to Hazrat Umar (RA) ne poora saal ghee nahin khaya aur na bhuna hua mota gosht hatta ke log jaan mein aa gaye aur taro tazah ho gaye.
Saib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: During a year of famine, the Muslims faced severe hunger. One day, while Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding his mount, he noticed a barley grain in its dung. He said, "By Allah! I will not ride this (mount) until the condition of the people improves."

(١٧٩١١) حضرت سائب بن یزید (رض) فرماتے ہیں : قحط کے سال مسلمانوں کو سخت فاقے لاحق ہوئے۔ ایک دن حضرت عمر (رض) اپنی سواری پر سوار تھے تو انھوں نے اس کی لید میں جو کا ایک دانہ دیکھا تو کہا : اللہ کی قسم ! میں اس پر سوار نہیں ہوں گا حتیٰ کہ لوگوں کی حالت بہتر ہوجائے۔
(17911) Hazrat Saib bin Yazid (RA) farmate hain : Qahat ke saal Musalmanon ko sakht faqay lahaq huay. Ek din Hazrat Umar (RA) apni سواری par sawar thay to unhon ne us ki leed mein jo ka ek dana dekha to kaha : Allah ki qasam! mein is par sawar nahi hon ga hatta ke logon ki halat behtar hojaye.
Abu Usman Nahdi said: Utbah bin Qarafah sent some sweets to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) from Azerbaijan. He asked the messenger: "Have the Muslims eaten their fill of it?" He said: "No." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I do not want it," and wrote to Utbah: "This is not from your effort and hard work, nor from the effort of your parents. First, feed the Muslims who are with you, and give to your household as much as you have kept for yourself."

(١٧٩١٢) ابو عثمان نہدی فرماتے ہیں : عتبہ بن قرفہ نے کچھ حلوہ حضرت عمر (رض) کو آذر بائی جان سے بھیجا تو آپ نے قاصد سے پوچھا : کیا مسلمان اس سے سیر ہوگئے ہیں ؟ تو اس نے کہا : نہیں تو حضرت عمر (رض) نے فرمایا : مجھے یہ نہیں چاہیے اور عتبہ کو لکھا کہ یہ تیری کوشش و محنت سے نہیں ہے نہ تیرے ماں باپ کی کوشش سے ہے۔ پہلے ان مسلمانوں کو سیر کر جو تیرے پاس ہیں اپنے گھر اتنا دے جتنا تو نے اپنے گھر کے لیے رکھا ہے۔
(17912) Abu Usman Nahdi farmate hain : Utbah bin Qarfa ne kuch halwa Hazrat Umar (Raz) ko Azarbaijan se bheja to aap ne qasid se poocha : kya musalman is se ser hogaye hain ? to us ne kaha : nahi to Hazrat Umar (Raz) ne farmaya : mujhe ye nahi chahie aur Utbah ko likha keh ye teri koshish o mehnat se nahi hai na tere maan baap ki koshish se hai. Pehle in musalmano ko ser kar jo tere pass hain apne ghar itna de jitna tune apne ghar ke liye rakha hai.
`Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah said: I went to `A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her). She said: "From which people are you?" I said: "From the Egyptians." She said: "How did you find Ibn Juraij in your battles?" I said: "He is a good leader. To whoever's horse or camel was of use in battle, he would compensate them with a camel, and if someone's slave was of use (killed), he would compensate them with a slave." `A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "His killing of my brother will not prevent me from narrating the Hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: 'Whoever is entrusted with the affairs of the Muslims, in whatever way possible, let him be gentle with them. O Allah! Be gentle to the one who is gentle with them, and make things difficult for the one who makes things difficult for them.'"

(١٧٩١٣) عبدالرحمن بن شماسہ فرماتے ہیں : میں عائشہ (رض) کے پاس گیا۔ انھوں نے پوچھا : کن لوگوں میں سے ہے ؟ میں نے کہا : مصری ہوں تو آپ نے پوچھا : تم نے اپنی لڑائیوں میں ابن جریج کو کیسا پایا ؟ میں نے کہا : وہ اچھا امیر ہے۔ جنگ میں جس کا گھوڑا یا اونٹ کام آیا۔ وہ اس کا بدلہ اونٹ سے دیتا ہے اور اگر کسی کا غلام کام آیا (مارا گیا) تو وہ بدلہ میں اس کو غلام دیتا ہے تو عائشہ (رض) نے کہا : اس کا میرے بھائی کو قتل کرنا مجھے حدیث بیان کرنے سے نہیں روکتا جو میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے سنی ہے۔ آپ نے فرمایا : اے وہ شخص جو مسلمانوں کے معاملات کا وارث ہو کسی طرح بھی ممکن ہو ان پر نرمی کرے تو اے اللہ ! اس پر نرمی کر اور جو ان پر مشقت کا ذریعہ بن جائے اے اللہ ! تو اس پر مشقت ڈال دے۔
(17913) Abdur Rahman bin Shamma sa farmate hain : main Ayesha (RA) ke pass gaya. Unhon ne pucha : kin logon mein se hai ? Maine kaha : Misri hoon to aap ne pucha : tum ne apni ladaiyon mein Ibn Jarij ko kaisa paya ? Maine kaha : woh achha ameer hai. Jang mein jis ka ghora ya unt kaam aaya. Woh is ka badla unt se deta hai aur agar kisi ka ghulam kaam aaya (mara gaya) to woh badle mein us ko ghulam deta hai to Ayesha (RA) ne kaha : is ka mere bhai ko qatal karna mujhe hadees bayan karne se nahin rokta jo maine Rasulullah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) se suni hai. Aap ne farmaya : aye woh shakhs jo musalmanon ke muamlaat ka waris ho kisi tarah bhi mumkin ho un par narmi kare to aye Allah ! is par narmi kar aur jo un par mushqil ka zariya ban jaye aye Allah ! tu is par mushqil daal de.
Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: When the siege of the people of Taif took place and nothing was achieved as a result, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “We will return tomorrow, Insha'Allah.” So the Muslims said: “How can we return when we have not achieved victory?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Be prepared for battle in the morning.” In the morning, they attacked them and they were wounded. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “We will return tomorrow.” So the people liked that. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smiled.

(١٧٩١٤) حضرت عبداللہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں : جس وقت طائف والوں کا محاصرہ کیا گیا اور نتیجتاً کچھ حاصل نہ ہوا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” ہم انشاء اللہ کل واپس جائیں گے “ تو مسلمانوں نے کہا : کیسے واپس جائیں ہم کامیاب تو ہوئے نہیں تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” صبح لڑائی کے لیے تیار رہو “ صبح انھوں نے ان پر حملہ کیا تو ان کو زخم لگے تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ” ہم کل واپس جائیں گے “ تو لوگوں نے اس کو پسند کیا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسکرا دیے۔
17914 Hazrat Abdullah (RA) farmate hain : Jis waqt Taif walon ka muhasira kiya gaya aur natijatan kuch hasil na hua to Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : " Hum Insha Allah kal wapas jayenge " to Musalmanon ne kaha : Kaise wapas jayen hum kamyab to hue nahin to Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : " Subah larai ke liye taiyar raho " Subah unhon ne un per hamla kiya to un ko zakhm lage to Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya : " Hum kal wapas jayenge " to logon ne is ko pasand kiya to Rasul Allah (SAW) muskura diye.
