Chapter: Prayer at the Grave After the Deceased is Buried
باب الصلاة على القبر بعدما يدفن الميت
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 6999
(6999) It is narrated by Shu'bi: I was informed by the one who passed by a grave that had caved in (or was isolated) with your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). We tied turbans for you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and those behind you. They (the narrators) said: We said: O Abu 'Amr! Who narrated this hadith to you? He said: Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).
In the narration of Wahb, it is stated: I was informed by the one who saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to a grave that was isolated, then he offered prayer and led them in prayer. I said: Who narrated this to you? He said: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).

(٦٩٩٩) شعبی فرماتی ہیں : مجھے اس نے خبر دی جو تمہارے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ ایک قبر کے پاس سے گزرا جو گری پڑی تھی (یا الگ تھلگ بھی) ہم نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور آپ کے پیچھیصفیں باندھیں ۔ وہ فرماتے ہیں : ہم نے کہا : اے ابو عمرو ! تجھے یہ حدیث کس نے بیان کی تو انھوں نے کہا : عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) نے۔
وہب کی روایت میں ہے کہ مجھے اس نے خبر دی جس نے نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو دیکھا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک ایسی قبر پر آئے جو علیحدہ تھی ، پھر انھیں نماز پڑھائی اور ان کی امامت کروائی۔ میں نے کہا : تجھے یہ کس نے بیان کی تو انھوں نے کہا : ابن عباس (رض) نے۔
(6999) Shabi farmati hain : mujhe is ne khabar di jo tumhare nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath ek qabar ke pass se guzra jo giri padi thi (ya alag thalag bhi) hum ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aur aap ke pichhe saffain bandhin . wo farmate hain : hum ne kaha : aye abu amro ! tujhe ye hadees kis ne bayan ki to unhon ne kaha : Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) ne.
Wahab ki riwayat mein hai ki mujhe is ne khabar di jis ne nabi kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko dekha ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ek aisi qabar par aaye jo alahida thi , phir unhen namaz parhayi aur un ki imamat karwayi. mein ne kaha : tujhe ye kis ne bayan ki to unhon ne kaha : Ibn Abbas (RA) ne.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer for a person who had died at night. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions stood up and began asking: Who is this? So it was said that he was buried yesterday, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed the funeral prayer for him.

(٧٠٠٠) ابن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس شخص کی نماز جنازہ ادا کی جو رات کو فوت ہوا تھا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ کھڑے ہوگئے اور ان سے پوچھنے لگے : یہ کون ہے ؟ تو کہا گیا کہ کل ہی اسے دفن کیا گیا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس پر نمازِجنازہ پڑھی۔
(7000) Ibn Abbas (RA) farmate hain keh aap (SAW) ne is shakhs ki namaz janaza ada ki jo raat ko fot hua tha. Aap (SAW) aur aap (SAW) ke sahaba khade hogaye aur un se puchne lage: Yeh kaun hai? To kaha gaya keh kal hi ise dafan kya gaya to aap (SAW) ne is per namaz janaza parhi.
Shabi narrates from Sha'bi (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to a fresh grave and offered the funeral prayer upon it, and the Companions prayed behind him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). And he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said four Takbeers. I said to 'Amir: Who narrated this Hadith to you? He said: A trustworthy narrator narrated it to me from Abdullah bin Abbas (RA).

(٧٠٠٢) شیبانی شعبی (رض) سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک نئی قبر پر آئے اور اس پر نماز جنازہ پڑھی اور صحابہ نے بھی آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چار تکبیرات کہیں، میں نے عامر سے کہا : تجھے کس نے حدیث بیان کی ؟ انھوں نے فرمایا : ثقہ راوی نے عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) سے بیان کیا ہے۔
7002 Shaibani Shuaibi (RA) se naql farmate hain ke Rasul Allah (SAW) aik nayi qabar par aaye aur us par namaz janaza parhi aur Sahaba ne bhi aap (SAW) ke peeche namaz parhi aur aap (SAW) ne chaar takbeerat kahin, maine Aamir se kaha: tujhe kis ne hadees bayaan ki? Unhon ne farmaya: Siqah raavi ne Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) se bayaan kiya hai.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer for a deceased person after his death and said three Takbirs. Ismail bin Zakariya narrated from the same chain of narration that he offered the funeral prayer at the grave two nights after the burial.

(٧٠٠٣ ) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے میت پر اس کے فوت ہونے کے بعد جنازہ پڑھا اور تین تکبیرات ۔ اسماعیل بن زکریا اسی سند سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ دفن کرنے کے دو رات بعدقبر پر جنازہ پڑھا ۔
(7003) Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne mayyat par uske faut hone ke baad janaza parha aur teen takbeerat. Ismail bin Zakariya isi sanad se bayan karte hain ki dafan karne ke do raat baad qabar par janaza parha.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered a funeral prayer at a grave one month after the burial.

(٧٠٠٤) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک مہینے بعد ایک قبر پر جنازہ پڑھا۔
(7004) Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ke aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek mahine baad ek kabar par janaza parha.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer after a man had been buried.

(٧٠٠٥) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک آدمی کے دفن کیے جانے کے بعد نماز جنازہ پڑھا۔
(7005) Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain keh Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne aik aadmi ke dafan kie jane ke bad namaz janaza parha.
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to a dug grave and offered the funeral prayer over it, and we offered it along with him.

(٧٠٠٦) ابن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک گری ہوئی قبر پر آئے، اس پر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جنازہ پڑھا اور ہم نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ پڑھا۔
(7006) Ibne Abbas (RA) farmate hain ke aap (SAW) aik giri hui qabar par aye, is par aap (SAW) ne janaza parha aur hum ne bhi aap ke sath parha.
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer after a (deceased) was buried.

(٧٠٠٧) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک قبر پر دفن کیے جانے کے بعد جنازہ پڑھا۔
(7007) Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne ek qabar par dafan kie jane ke baad janaza parha.
Abu 'Abdullah al-Hafidh narrated to us, Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Salman the Faqih narrated to us, Ja'far al-Tayalisi narrated to us, Yahya ibn Ma'in and Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Khalaf ibn Salim said: Ghundar narrated to us, he narrated to us from Shu'bah, from Habib ibn ash-Shahid, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas ibn Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed over the grave of a woman after she was buried.
Muslim narrated it in his Sahih, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ar'arah, from Ghundar in a shortened form: that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed over a grave, only. [Sahih (authentic). Muslim transmitted it].

(7009) Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas: I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) when he passed by a newly dug grave. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Whose grave is this?" He was told whose grave it was. The Prophet (ﷺ) dismounted, and the Companions lined up behind him, and he offered the funeral prayer. I was among those who offered the prayer.

(٧٠٠٩) عبداللہ بن عباس (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ تھا ۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک قبر کے پاس سے گزرے جو نئی نئی بنی تھی، آپ نے فرمایا : یہ قبر کس کی ہے ؟ کہا گیا : فلاں کی قبر ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اترے اور صحابہ نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیچھے صف بنائی اور اس کا جنازہ پڑھا اور میں بھی ان میں تھا جنہوں نے جنازہ پڑھا۔
7009 Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) farmate hain ke mein Rasul Allah (SAW) ke sath tha. Jab aap (SAW) ek kabar ke pass se guzre jo nayi nayi bani thi, aap ne farmaya: Yeh kabar kis ki hai? Kaha gaya: Falan ki kabar hai. Aap (SAW) utre aur sahaba ne aap (SAW) ke peeche saf banai aur iska janaza parha aur mein bhi un mein tha jinhone janaza parha.
Narrated Anas (RA): The Prophet (PBUH) passed by a grave in which a dead person was buried, so the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whose grave is this?" They said: "The grave of so-and-so." So the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Why didn't you tell me?" The narrator said: They considered him insignificant and thought lowly of him. Then the Prophet (PBUH) prayed his funeral prayer after he was buried, and the Prophet (PBUH) said: "These graves are filled with darkness, and Allah illuminates them with my prayer."

(٧٠١١) حضرت انس (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک قبر کے پاس سے گزرے جس میں میت دفن کی گئی تھی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ قبر کس کی ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : فلاں کی قبر ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے مجھے کیوں نہ بتایا ؟ راوی کہتے ہیں : انھوں نے اس کو حقیر جانا اور چھوٹا تصور کیا، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسے دفن کیے جانے کے بعد اس کا جنازہ پڑھا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ قبریں اندھیرے سے بھری ہوئی ہوتی ہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ میری دعا سے انھیں منور کردیتے ہیں۔
(7011) Hazrat Anas (RA) se riwayat hai ki Nabi Kareem ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aik qabar ke paas se guzre jis mein mayyat dafan ki gayi thi to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Yeh qabar kis ki hai? Unhon ne kaha: Fulan ki qabar hai to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum ne mujhe kyun nah bataya? Rawi kehte hain: Unhon ne is ko haqir jana aur chhota tasavvur kiya, phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ise dafan kiye jane ke baad is ka janaza parha aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Yeh qabrein andhere se bhari hui hoti hain aur Allah Ta'ala meri dua se inhen munawwar kar dete hain.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a woman or a man used to take care of the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not find him/her, so he asked about him/her. They said, “He/She has passed away.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Why did you not inform me? Show me his/her grave.” They showed him the grave, and he prayed the funeral prayer for him/her.

(٧٠١٢) ابو ہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ایک عورت یا مرد مسجد کی دیکھ بھال کیا کرتا تھا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسے نہ پایا تو اس کے متعلق پوچھا ، انھوں نے کہا : وہ فوت ہوچکا ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے مجھے کیوں نہ بتلایا، مجھے اس کی قبر بتاؤ ۔ انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو قبر بنائی اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کا جنازہ پڑھا۔
(7012) Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat hai ki ek aurat ya mard masjid ki dekh bhaal kya karta tha, Aap (SAW) ne usay na paya to uske mutalliq poocha, unhon ne kaha: woh faut ho chuka hai to Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: tumne mujhe kyun na batlaya, mujhe uski qabar batao. Unhon ne Aap (SAW) ko qabar batai aur Aap (SAW) ne uska janaza parha.
Musaddad narrated to us: Hammad bin Musaddad narrated to us with the same chain of transmitters and in the same meaning, and he narrated these words in addition: "As if the Companions considered his matter to be insignificant, so you (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Show me his grave.' Then you (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to his grave and offered the funeral prayer. Then you (the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'These graves are filled with darkness for the dwellers of the graves, but Allah illuminates them for them with my supplication.'"

(٧٠١٣) مسدد فرماتے ہیں : ہمیں حماد بن مسدد نے اسی سند کے ساتھ اسی معنی میں حدیث بیان کی اور یہ لفظ زیادہ بیان کیے۔ ” گویا صحابہ نہ اس کے معاملے کو معمولی جانا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : مجھے اس کی قبر بتاؤ، پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کی قبر پر آئے اور جنازہ پڑھا ۔ پھر فرمایا : یہ قبریں قبر والوں کے لیے اندھیرے سے بھری ہوتی ہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ میری دعا سے انھیں روشن کردیتا ہے۔
(7013) Musaddad farmate hain: Hamein Hammad bin Musaddad ne isi sanad ke sath isi maeny mein hadees bayaan ki aur ye lafz zyada bayaan kiye. "Goya sahaba na is ke mamle ko mamooli jana to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Mujhe is ki qabar batao, phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) is ki qabar par aaye aur janaza parha. Phir farmaya: Ye qabren qabar walon ke liye andhere se bhari hoti hain aur Allah Ta'ala meri dua se unhen roshan karta hai."
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): A black woman used to clean the mosque. She died and the Prophet (ﷺ) did not notice her absence. When he (ﷺ) asked about her, he was told of her death. He (ﷺ) said, "Why did you not inform me?" Then he (ﷺ) went to her grave and offered the funeral prayer.
Ibn 'Abdah added in his narration, on the authority of Hammad: Thabit said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "These graves are filled with darkness for their dwellers, but Allah illuminates them for them by virtue of my prayer."

(٧٠١٤) حضرت ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ایک کالی عورت مسجد کی خدمت کیا کرتی تھی، وہ فوت ہوگئی۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسے نہ پایا تو اس کے متعلق صحابہ سے پوچھا آپ سے کہا گیا کہ وہ فوت ہوگئی ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے مجھے کیوں نہ خبر دی۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کی قبر پر آئے اور جنازہ پڑھا۔
ابن عبدہ نے اپنی حدیث میں اضافہ کیا ہے اور کہا ہے کہ ہمیں حماد نے خبر دی کہ ثابت (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : اہلِ قبور کے لیے یہ قبریں اندھیر سے بھری ہوتی ہیں مگر اللہ سبحانہ میری نماز کی وجہ سے انھیں روشن کردیتا ہے۔
(7014) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) se riwayat hai ki ek kali aurat masjid ki khidmat kya karti thi, woh foot ho gayi. Jab Aap (SAW) ne usey na paya to uske mutalliq sahaba se poocha, aap se kaha gaya ki woh foot ho gayi hai to Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Tum ne mujhe kyun nahi khabar di. Phir Aap (SAW) uski qabar par aaye aur janaza parha.
Ibn e Abdah ne apni hadees mein izafa kya hai aur kaha hai ki hamein Hamad ne khabar di ki Sabit (RA) farmate hain ki Rasul Allah (SAW) ne farmaya: Ahle quboor ke liye ye qabrein andhere se bhari hoti hain magar Allah Subhana meri namaz ki wajah se unhen roshan karta hai.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man used to clean the mosque. He died (or she died). When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not find him, he said, "What happened to that person?" meaning the one who used to serve the mosque. It was said, "He has died." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Why did you not inform me?" They said, "It was night." He said, "Show me his grave." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to his grave and offered the funeral prayer. Thabit added in his narration: "These graves are filled with darkness, but Allah illuminates them for them because of my supplication."

(٧٠١٥) ابو ہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی مسجد کی صفائی کیا کرتا تھا وہ فوت ہوگیا یا ہوگئی۔ جب آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسے نہ پایا تو اسے فرمایا : اس انسان نے کیا کیا ؟ جو مسجد کی خدمت کیا کرتا تھا۔ کہا گیا کہ وہ فوت ہوچکا ہے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے مجھے کیوں نہ بتایا۔ انھوں نے کہا کہ رات تھی اس لیے۔ آپ نے فرمایا : مجھے اس کی قبر بتاؤ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کی قبر پر آئے اور جنازہ پڑھا۔ پھر ثابت نے یہ بات بھی بیان کی کہ یہ قبریں اندھیرے سے بھری ہوتی ہیں ، اللہ تعالیٰ میری دعا سے انھیں منور کردیتا ہے۔
(7015) Abu Hurairah (RA) se riwayat hai ki ek aadmi masjid ki safai kiya karta tha woh faut hogaya ya hogayi. Jab Aap (SAW) ne use na paya to use farmaya : is insan ne kya kiya ? Jo masjid ki khidmat kiya karta tha. Kaha gaya ki woh faut hochuka hai to Aap (SAW) ne farmaya : tumne mujhe kyun nahi bataya. Unhon ne kaha ki raat thi is liye. Aap ne farmaya : mujhe is ki qabar batao Aap (SAW) is ki qabar par aaye aur janaza parha. Phir Sabit ne yeh baat bhi bayan ki ki yeh qabren andhere se bhari hoti hain , Allah Ta'ala meri dua se inhen munawwar karta hai.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man used to clean the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not find him one day and asked, "What happened to so-and-so?" He was told that he had died. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out with the Companions, as Allah willed, and ordered them to form rows. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then moved forward and led the funeral prayer.
Hammad ibn Waqid narrated from Thabit from Abu Rafi' from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the funeral prayer at the grave three days after the burial.

(٧٠١٦) ابو ہریرہ (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص مسجد کی صفائی وغیرہ کیا کرتا تھا ، رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اسے نہ پایا تو فرمایا : فلاں کا کیا ہوا ؟ کہا گیا کہ وہ فوت ہوگیا ہے تو آپ کے ساتھ صحابہ چلے جس قدر اللہ نے چاہا ۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں صف بنانے کا حکم دیا پھر آپ آگے بڑھے اور جنازہ پڑھایا۔
حماد بن واقد ثابت بنانی سے اور وہ ابو رافع سے اور وہ ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے تین دن بعد قبر پر نماز جنازہ پڑھی۔
(7016) Abu Huraira (RA) farmate hain ke ek shakhs masjid ki safai waghaira kiya karta tha, Rasul Allah (SAW) ne use na paya to farmaya: Fulan ka kya hua? Kaha gaya ke woh faut hogaya hai to aap ke sath sahaba chale jis qadar Allah ne chaha. Aap (SAW) ne unhen saf banane ka hukm diya phir aap aage barhe aur janaza parhaaya.
Hammad bin Waqid Sabit Banani se aur woh Abu Rafi se aur woh Abu Huraira (RA) se riwayat farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem (SAW) ne teen din baad qabar par namaz janaza parhi.
Yazid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) towards Jannat al-Baqi. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw a new grave and asked about it. The Companions told him and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recognized it. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Why did you not inform me?" They said, "You were sleeping, so we did not consider it appropriate to disturb you." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Do not do this, for when I am not present among you, I do not know who among you has passed away unless you inform me. My prayer is a mercy for him." Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the grave and offered the funeral prayer. We formed rows behind him and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said four Takbirs.

(٧٠١٨) یزید بن ثابت (رض) فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ جنت البقیع کی طرف نکلے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک نئی قبر دیکھی تو اس کے متعلق پوچھا ۔ صحابہ نے بتایا تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پہچان لیا ، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے مجھے کیوں نہ بتایا ؟ کہا گیا کہ آپ سو رہے تھے ، سو ہم نے آپ کو تکلیف دینا مناسب نہ سمجھا ۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ایسا نہ کرو کیونکہ جب میں تم میں موجود نہیں ہوتا تو میں اسی نہیں جانتا جو تم میں سے فوت ہوگیا حتیٰ کہ تم مجھے اطلاع نہ کرو۔ میری دعا اس کے لیے باعث رحمت ہوتی ہے۔ پھر آپ قبر پر آئے اور جنازہ پڑھا ۔ ہم نے آپ کے پیچھے صفیں بنائیں اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے چار تکبیرات کہیں۔
(7018) Yazid bin Sabit (RA) farmate hain ki hum Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath Jannat-ul-Baqi ki taraf nikle, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek nayi qabar dekhi to uske mutalliq poocha. Sahaba ne bataya to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne pehchan liya, aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum ne mujhe kyon nah bataya? Kaha gaya ki aap so rahe the, so humne aapko takleef dena munasib nah samjha. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Aisa nah karo kyunki jab main tum mein mojood nahin hota to main usi nahin janta jo tum mein se faut hogaya hatta ki tum mujhe ittila nah karo. Meri dua uske liye baais-e-rehemat hoti hai. Phir aap qabar par aaye aur janaza padha. Humne aapke peeche safein banayein aur aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne chaar takbeerat kaheen.
Abu Umama Sahl bin Hunaif Ansari narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would visit sick and poor Muslims, and the weak, and would accompany their funerals. He would not leave any funeral unattended. A poor woman who lived on the outskirts of Medina had a prolonged illness. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would inquire about her from anyone who visited from her neighborhood, and would say, "If she passes away, inform me, and do not bury her until I offer her funeral prayer." One night, the woman passed away, so they prepared her body and brought the funeral procession, or came to the place of burial. They brought her near the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he could offer her funeral prayer as he had instructed. They found him asleep after the Isha prayer, and they did not deem it appropriate to wake him up, so they offered the funeral prayer themselves and left. When morning came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired about her from those neighbors who visited him. They informed him of her passing and told him that they did not consider it appropriate to wake him up. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why did you do that? Come with me." So they went with him until they stood at her grave. They lined up behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as is done in funeral prayer. Then he offered the funeral prayer and said the four Takbeers as is customary in funeral prayer.

(٧٠١٩) ابو امامہ سہل بن حنیف انصاری فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیمارو مسکین مسلمانوں کی اور کمزوروں کی عیادت کرتے تھے اور ان کے جنازوں کے ساتھ جاتے ۔ آپ کے سوا کوئی جنازہ نہ پڑھتا۔ ایک مسکین عورت جو مدینہ کے اطراف میں رہتی تھی اس کی بیماری لمبی ہوگئی۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کے بارے میں اس سے پوچھتیجو کوئی اس کے ہمسائے سے آتا اور آپ فرماتے : اگر وہ فوت ہوجائے تو مجھے بتائے بغیر دفن نہ کریں، تاکہ اس کا جنازہ پڑھیں۔ رات میں یہ عورت فوت ہوگئی تو انھوں نے اسے اٹھایا اور جنازے کو ساتھ لائے یا جنازے کی جگہ آئے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی مسجد کے پاس لائے تاکہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اس کا جنازہ پڑھیں جیسے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان سے کہا تھا ۔ انھوں نے پایا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) عشا کی نماز کے بعد سو چکے ہیں تو انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بےدار کرنا پسند نہ کیا اور جنازہ پڑھا دیا اور چل دیئے ۔ جب صبح ہوئی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کے بارے ان سے پوچھا جو ان کے پڑوسی آئے تو انھوں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اس کی خبر دی اور بتایا کہ آپ کو بیدار کرنا مناسب نہ سمجھا تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے ایسے کیوں کیا ؟ چلو میرے ساتھ تو وہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ چل دیے حتیٰ کہ اس کی قبر پر کھڑے ہوئے اور رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے پیچھے صف بنائی جیسے نمازِ جنازہ کے لیے صف بندی کی جاتی تھی۔ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے جنازہ پڑھا اور چار تکبیرات کہیں جیسے جنازے پر تکبیرات کہتے تھے۔
7019 Abu Umama Sahal bin Hanif Ansari farmate hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) beemaru miskeen musalmanon ki aur kamzoron ki ayadat karte the aur un ke janaazon ke sath jate. Aap ke siwa koi janaza na parhta. Ek miskeen aurat jo Madina ke اطراف mein rehti thi us ki bimari lambi hogayi. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) us ke bare mein us se puchhti jo koi us ke hamsaye se aata aur aap farmate: Agar woh faut hojae to mujhe batae baghair dafan na karen, taake us ka janaza parhen. Raat mein yeh aurat faut hogayi to unhon ne use uthaya aur janaze ko sath laye ya janaze ki jaga aaye. Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki masjid ke paas laye taake Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) us ka janaza parhen jaise aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne un se kaha tha. Unhon ne paya ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) Isha ki namaz ke baad so chuke hain to unhon ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko bedar karna pasand na kiya aur janaza parha diya aur chal diye. Jab subah hui to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne us ke bare un se puchha jo un ke padosi aaye to unhon ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko us ki khabar di aur bataya ki aap ko bedar karna munasib na samjha to Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Tum ne aise kyon kiya? Chalo mere sath to woh aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath chal diye hatta ki us ki qabar par khade hue aur Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke peeche saf banai jaise namaz-e-janaza ke liye saf bandi ki jati thi. Phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne janaza parha aur chaar takbeerat kahin jaise janaze par takbeerat kahte the.
Ibn Buraidah narrated from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a new grave and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whose grave is this?" Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! It is the grave of Umm Mujnah who used to clean the mosque." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Why didn't you tell me?" They said: "You were sleeping, we did not think it was good to wake you up." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not do that, for my prayer is a cause of light for the graves of the dead." So the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) lined up and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed the funeral prayer for her.

(٧٠٢٠) ابن بریدہ اپنے والد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک نئی قبر کے پاس سے گزرے اور آپ کے ساتھ ابوبکر (رض) بھی تھے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ قبر کس کی ہے تو ابوبکر (رض) نے کہا : اللہ کے رسول ! یہ ام محجن کی ہے جو مسجد کی صفائی کیا کرتی تھی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : تم نے مجھے کیوں نہ بتایا ؟ انھوں نے کہا : آپ سو رہے تھے، ہم نے آپ کو بیدار کرنا اچھا نہ سمجھا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ایسا نہ کیا کرو ، میری نماز مردوں کی قبروں میں نور کا باعث ہے۔ چنانچہ صحابہ (رض) نے صفیں بنائیں اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اس کا جنازہ پڑھا۔
7020 Ibn Buraidah apne walid se naql farmate hain ke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ek nayi qabar ke paas se guzre aur aap ke sath Abu Bakr RA bhi thay Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya yeh qabar kis ki hai to Abu Bakr RA ne kaha Allah ke Rasool yeh Umm Mujjan ki hai jo masjid ki safai kya karti thi to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum ne mujhe kyun nahi bataya unhon ne kaha aap so rahe thay hum ne aap ko bedar karna achcha nahi samjha Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya aisa na kya karo meri namaz murdon ki qabron mein noor ka baais hai chunancha sahaba RA ne safein banayein aur Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne is ka janaza parha
Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "These two are equal in length," meaning the thumb and middle finger. He (peace be upon him) was requested to lead the funeral prayer of Umm Sa'd, but he (peace be upon him) offered her funeral prayer a month later because he (peace be upon him) was not present (at that time).
This narration pertains to the funeral prayer of Umm Sa'd. In its chain of narrators, Suwaid bin Saeed is alone (in narrating it), whereas the famous narration from Qatadah, on the authority of Ibn Musayyab, from the Prophet (peace be upon him) has already been mentioned.

(٧٠٢٢) ابن عباس موصولا بیان فرماتے ہیں کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : یہ اور یہ دیت میں برابر ہیں ، مراد انگوٹھا اور درمیانی انگلی تھی ۔ آپ سے کہا گیا کہ آپ ام سعد کا جنازہ پڑھ لیتے، چنانچہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک ماہ بعد ان کا جنازہ پڑھا، اس لیے کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) وہاں موجود نہیں تھے۔
یہ کلام ام سعد کی نماز جنازہ کے متعلق ہے۔ اس سند میں سو ید بن سعید متفرد ہیں اور مشہور قتادہ عن ابن مسیب سے نبی کریم (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے کی حدیث ہے جو گزر چکی ہے۔
7022 Ibn Abbas moosulan bayan farmate hain ke aap ne farmaya yeh aur yeh det mein barabar hain murad angootha aur darmiyaani ungli thi aapse kaha gaya ke aap umme saad ka janaza parh lete chunancha aap ne ek mah baad unka janaza parha isliye ke aap wahan mojood nahin the
yeh kalaam umme saad ki namaz janaza ke mutalliq hai is sanad mein suwaid bin saeed mutfarrid hain aur mash'hoor qatadah an ibne musib se nabi kareem se ki hadees hai jo guzar chuki hai
Abu Muhammad bin Ma'bad bin Qatadah narrates that Bara' bin Marur was the first person who faced the Qibla (for prayer). He was one of the seventy envoys and came to Madinah before the Hijrah (migration) of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He started praying facing the Qibla. When his time of death approached, he made a will that a third of his wealth be given to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to spend wherever he wished. He said, "When I die, turn my face towards the Qibla in the grave. When you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrive after a year, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Companions should offer my funeral prayer." A third of his wealth was given to his children. I found it like this in my book. The correct thing is that this incident happened after a month.

(٧٠٢٣) ابو محمد بن معبد بن قتادہ فرماتے ہیں کہ براء بن معرور پہلے شخص ہیں جنہوں نے قبلے کی طرف منہ کیا اور وہ ستر نقیبوں میں سے تھے اور وہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی ہجرت سے پہلے مدینے آئے ، انھوں نے قبلے کی طرف منہ کر کے نماز شروع کردی۔ جب ان کی وفات کا وقت آیا تو انھوں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لیے اپنے تہائی مال کی وصیت کی کہ وہ اسے جہاں چاہیں خرچ فرمائیں۔ انھوں نے فرمایا : جب میں فوت ہو جاؤں تو قبر میں میرا چہرہ قبلے کی طرف کرنا، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ایک سال کے بعد تشریف لائے تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور صحابہ نے ان کا جنازہ پڑھا اور اس کا تہائی مال اس کی اولاد کو دے دیا۔
میں نے اپنی کتاب میں ایسے ہی پایا ہے درست بات یہ ہے کہ یہ واقعہ مہینے کے بعد ہوا۔
7023 Abu Muhammad bin Mabid bin Qatada farmate hain ki Bara bin Marur pehle shakhs hain jinhon ne qibla ki taraf munh kya aur wo sattar naqeebo mein se thay aur wo Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki hijrat se pehle Madine aye, unhon ne qibla ki taraf munh kar ke namaz shuru kardi. Jab un ki wafat ka waqt aya to unhon ne Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke liye apne tihai maal ki wasiyat ki ke wo use jahan chahain kharch farmaen. Unhon ne farmaya: Jab main fout ho jaun to qabar mein mera chehra qibla ki taraf karna, Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ek saal ke baad tashreef laye to Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) aur sahaba ne un ka janaza parha aur is ka tihai maal is ki aulad ko de diya.
Main ne apni kitab mein aise hi paya hai durust baat yeh hai ki yeh waqea mahine ke baad hua.
Ibn Abi Mikail narrated: Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr As-Siddiq died in As-Saffah or somewhere near it, and we carried him (on our shoulders) till we buried him in Mecca. Then `Aisha came after his death and said, "Where is the grave of my brother?" She was then taken to it and she invoked Allah's blessings on him. Some people said that the period (between his death and her arrival) was one month.

(٧٠٢٤) ابن ابی مکیلہ فرماتے ہیں : عبد الرحمن بن ابی بکر صفاح میں یا اس کے قریب فوت ہوگیا، ہم نے اسے لوگوں کے کندھوں پر اٹھایا، یہاں تک کہ ہم نے اسے مکہ میں دفن کردیا اور سیدہ عائشہ (رض) اس وفات کے بعد آئیں تو انھوں نے کہا : میرے بھائی کی قبر کہاں ہے ؟ پھر وہ وہاں آئیں اور ان کے لیے دعا کی۔ کچھ نے وہ مدت ایک مہینہ بیان کی ہے۔
7024 Ibn e Abi Makila farmate hain : Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr Safah mein ya uske qareeb foot hogaya, humne usay logon ke kandhon per uthaya, yahan tak ke humne usay Makkah mein dafan kardiya aur Sayyidah Ayesha (Razi Allah Anha) is wafaat ke bad aayin to unhon ne kaha : Mere bhai ki qabar kahan hai ? Phir wo wahan aayin aur unke liye dua ki. Kuch ne wo muddat ek mahina bayan ki hai.
Nafi' said that Ibn 'Umar came to Medina three months after the death of 'Asim bin 'Umar. He went to his grave, prayed, and performed the funeral prayer.

(٧٠٢٥) حضرت نافع فرماتے ہیں کہ ابن عمر (رض) عاصم بن عمر کی وفات کے تین ماہ بعد مدینہ آئے تو اس کی قبر پر آئے اور دعا کی (جنازہ پڑھا) ۔
(7025) Hazrat Nafe farmate hain ki Ibn Umar (RA) Asim bin Umar ki wafaat ke teen mah baad Madina aye to us ki qabar par aye aur dua ki (janaza parha).
