Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "There was among the people before you a man who had killed ninety-nine people. He asked about the most knowledgeable people on earth and was directed to a monk. He came to him and said, ‘I have killed ninety-nine people. Is there any repentance for me?' He said, ‘No.' So, he killed him and completed one hundred. Then, he asked about the most knowledgeable people on earth and was directed to a scholar. He said to him, ‘I have killed one hundred people. Is there any repentance for me?' He said, ‘Yes. What stands between you and repentance? Go to such-and-such land, for therein are people who worship Allah. So, worship Allah there and do not return to your land for it is a land of evil.' So, he set out, and when he had traversed half the distance, death overtook him. The angels of mercy and the angels of punishment disputed over him. The angels of mercy said, ‘He came turning in repentance to Allah.' The angels of punishment said, ‘Indeed, he never did any good.' Then, an angel came to them in the form of a human. They made him their judge. He said, ‘Measure the distance between the two lands. Whichever he is closer to is for him.' So, they measured and found him closer to the land which he intended to reach, so the angels of mercy seized him."
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "تم سے پہلے ایک قوم میں ایک شخص تھا جس نے ننانوے افراد کو قتل کر ڈالا تھا۔ اس نے زمین پر سب سے زیادہ علم والے شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا تو اسے ایک راہب کے پاس بھیج دیا گیا۔ وہ اس کے پاس آیا اور کہنے لگا: 'میں نے ننانوے افراد کو قتل کر ڈالا ہے۔ کیا میرے لیے کوئی توبہ ہے؟' اس نے کہا: 'نہیں'۔ چنانچہ، اس نے اسے بھی قتل کر دیا اور (قتل کی) تعداد سو پوری کر دی۔ پھر، اس نے زمین پر سب سے زیادہ علم والے شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا تو اسے ایک عالم کے پاس بھیج دیا گیا۔ اس نے اس سے کہا: 'میں نے سو افراد کو قتل کر ڈالا ہے۔ کیا میرے لیے کوئی توبہ ہے؟' اس نے کہا: 'ہاں۔ تمہارے اور توبہ کے درمیان کیا رکاوٹ ہے؟ فلاں زمین پر چلے جاؤ، کیونکہ وہاں اللہ کی عبادت کرنے والے لوگ ہیں۔ لہٰذا، وہاں جا کر اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اپنی زمین پر واپس نہ آنا کیونکہ یہ برائی کی زمین ہے۔' تو وہ شخص چل پڑا اور جب آدھا فاصلہ طے کر چکا تھا کہ اسے موت نے آ لیا۔ رحمت کے فرشتوں اور عذاب کے فرشتوں میں اس کے بارے میں جھگڑا ہو گیا۔ رحمت کے فرشتوں نے کہا: 'یہ اللہ کی طرف توبہ کرتا ہوا آیا تھا۔' عذاب کے فرشتوں نے کہا: 'بے شک، اس نے کبھی کوئی نیکی نہیں کی۔' پھر، ان کے پاس ایک فرشتہ انسانی شکل میں آیا۔ انہوں نے اسے اپنا فیصلہ کرنے والا بنایا۔ اس نے کہا: 'دونوں زمینوں کے درمیان فاصلہ ناپو۔ جس کے قریب ہو گا وہ اسی کا ہو گا۔' چنانچہ، انہوں نے پیمائش کی تو وہ اس زمین کے قریب پایا گیا جس کی طرف وہ جانا چاہتا تھا، تو رحمت کے فرشتے اسے لے گئے۔"
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: "Tum se pehle ek qaum mein ek shakhs tha jis ne ninanwe afrad ko qatal kar daala tha. Us ne zameen par sab se zyada ilm wale shakhs ke baare mein poocha to use ek rahib ke paas bhej diya gaya. Woh uske paas aaya aur kehne laga: 'Main ne ninanwe afrad ko qatal kar daala hai. Kya mere liye koi tauba hai?' Us ne kaha: 'Nahin'. Chunanche, us ne use bhi qatal kar diya aur (qatal ki) tadad sau puri kar di. Phir, us ne zameen par sab se zyada ilm wale shakhs ke baare mein poocha to use ek alim ke paas bhej diya gaya. Us ne us se kaha: 'Main ne sau afrad ko qatal kar daala hai. Kya mere liye koi tauba hai?' Us ne kaha: 'Haan. Tumhare aur tauba ke darmiyan kya rukawat hai? Falaan zameen par chale jao, kyunki wahan Allah ki ibadat karne wale log hain. Lihaza, wahan ja kar Allah ki ibadat karo aur apni zameen par wapas na aana kyunki yeh burai ki zameen hai.' To woh shakhs chal para aur jab aadha faasla tay kar chuka tha ki use maut ne aa liya. Rehmat ke farishton aur azab ke farishton mein uske baare mein jhagra ho gaya. Rehmat ke farishton ne kaha: 'Yeh Allah ki taraf tauba karta hua aaya tha.' Azab ke farishton ne kaha: 'Be shak, us ne kabhi koi neki nahin ki.' Phir, unke paas ek farishta insani shakal mein aaya. Unhon ne use apna faisla karne wala banaya. Us ne kaha: 'Donon zameenon ke darmiyan faasla naapo. Jis ke qareeb ho ga woh usi ka ho ga.' Chunanche, unhon ne pemaish ki to woh us zameen ke qareeb paya gaya jis ki taraf woh jana chahta tha, to rehmat ke farishte use le gaye."
Ibn Mas'ud said: It was said to him, “Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: ‘Regret is repentance’?” He said: “Yes.”
حضرت ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا گیا کہ کیا آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ ندامت ہی توبہ ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہاں۔
Hazrat Ibn Masood Radi Allahu Anhu se kaha gaya keh kya aap ne Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko ye farmate huye suna hai keh Nadamat hi tauba hai? Unhon ne kaha keh Haan.
Yahya related to me from Humaid at-Taweel that he said: I asked Anas bin Malik, did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “Regret is repentance?” He said: “Yes.”
یحییٰ نے حمید الطویل سے روایت کی ، کہا کہ میں نے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا "پچھتاوا توبہ ہے"۔ انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا "جی ہاں"۔
Yahiya ne Hamid Al-Tawil se riwayat ki, kaha ke maine Anas bin Malik Radi Allahu Anhu se pucha kya Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya "pachtawa toba hai". Anas Radi Allahu Anhu ne kaha "ji haan".
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "There was a man among the Children of Israel who killed ninety-nine people. Then he went out asking, until he came to a monk and asked him if there was any repentance for him. He said, 'No.' So he killed him and continued asking. Someone told him, 'Go to such-and-such a village.' Death overtook him as he was on his way, so he died. The angels of mercy and the angels of punishment disputed concerning him. Allah told these to come closer and told those to go further away. He was found to be a handspan closer to these, so he was forgiven."
ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ بنی اسرائیل میں ایک شخص تھا جس نے ننانوے افراد کو قتل کر دیا تھا۔ پھر وہ یہ پوچھتا پھرتا رہا کہ اس کے لیے کوئی توبہ کا راستہ ہے بھی یا نہیں یہاں تک کہ وہ ایک راہب کے پاس پہنچا اور اس سے پوچھا کہ کیا میرے لیے کوئی توبہ ہے؟ اس نے کہا کہ نہیں۔ اس نے اسے بھی قتل کر دیا اور آگے بڑھ گیا۔ راستے میں ایک آدمی نے اسے بتایا کہ فلاں گاؤں چلے جاؤ۔ وہاں پہنچنے سے پہلے ہی راستے میں موت آگئی، اور وہ مر گیا۔ اس پر رحمت کے فرشتوں اور عذاب کے فرشتوں میں جھگڑا ہو گیا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے رحمت والوں کو قریب اور عذاب والوں کو دور ہونے کا حکم دیا۔ معلوم ہوا کہ وہ رحمت والے فرشتوں سے ایک بالشت قریب تھا، سو اسے معاف کر دیا گیا۔
Abu Saeed Khudri Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya ki Bani Israel mein ek shakhs tha jisne ninanve afrad ko qatal kar diya tha. Phir woh yeh poochta phirta raha ki uske liye koi tauba ka rasta hai bhi ya nahi yahan tak ki woh ek rahib ke pass pahuncha aur us se poocha ki kya mere liye koi tauba hai? Usne kaha ki nahi. Usne use bhi qatal kar diya aur aage badh gaya. Raste mein ek aadmi ne use bataya ki falan gaon chale jao. Wahan pahunchne se pehle hi raste mein maut aa gayi, aur woh mar gaya. Is par rehmat ke farishton aur azab ke farishton mein jhagda ho gaya. Allah Ta'ala ne rehmat walon ko qareeb aur azab walon ko door hone ka hukum diya. Maloom hua ki woh rehmat wale farishton se ek baalish qareeb tha, so use maaf kar diya gaya.
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The parable of the believer and his faith is like a horse tied by a rope, sometimes it grazes near it and sometimes far from it, but it ultimately returns to its tie. Verily, the believer may err, but he will eventually return to faith. So, feed your food to the righteous and entrust your belongings to the believers."
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، "مومن اور اس کے ایمان کی مثال اس گھوڑے کی طرح ہے جو رسی سے بندھا ہوا ہوتا ہے، کبھی وہ اس کے پاس چرتا ہے اور کبھی اس سے دور، لیکن آخر کار وہ اپنی رسی کی طرف لوٹ ہی آتا ہے۔ بے شک مومن خطا کر سکتا ہے، لیکن وہ بالآخر ایمان کی طرف لوٹ آئے گا۔ لہٰذا، اپنا کھانا نیک لوگوں کو کھلاؤ اور اپنا مال مومنوں کے سپرد کرو۔"
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri raziallahu anhu se riwayat hai keh Nabi Akram sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya, "Momin aur uske imaan ki misaal us ghore ki tarah hai jo rassi se bandha hua hota hai, kabhi woh uske paas charta hai aur kabhi usse door, lekin aakhirkaar woh apni rassi ki taraf laut hi aata hai. Be shak momin khata kar sakta hai, lekin woh baalakhir imaan ki taraf laut aayega. Lihaza, apna khana nek logon ko khilao aur apna maal mominon ke supurd karo."
Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Allah is more delighted with the repentance of His servant than one of you would be on finding his riding animal which got lost in the desert."
حضرت قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، "اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندے کی توبہ پر اس سے زیادہ خوش ہوتا ہے جتنا تم میں سے کوئی اپنے گم گشتہ اونٹ کو ویرانے میں پاکر خوش ہوتا ہے۔"
Hazrat Qatadah Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya, "Allah Ta'ala apne bande ki taubah par us se ziada khush hota hai jitna tum mein se koi apne gum gushtah unt ko virane mein pakar khush hota hai."
Narrated by 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah is more pleased with the repentance of one of you than a man who would be on his way through a barren land, and with him would be his she-camel carrying his food and drink. He then lay down in its shade and went to sleep. Upon waking up, he found his she-camel gone. He then set out to search for it until he reached a valley having no vegetation. Feeling exhausted, he said (to himself), 'I will go back to the place where I was before and wait for death.' He then returned and, while he was lying with his head upon his forearms, he suddenly saw his she-camel standing before him with his belongings and food. By Allah! Allah is more pleased with the repentance of one of you than this man at the return of his she-camel.
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اللہ تعالیٰ تم میں سے کسی کے توبہ کرنے پر اس شخص سے زیادہ خوش ہوتا ہے جو ایک بیابان میں ہو اور اس کے ساتھ اس کی سواری والی اونٹنی ہو جس پر اس کا کھانا پینا لدا ہو وہ اس کے سائے میں لیٹ کر سو جائے پھر جب اٹھے تو اپنی اونٹنی کو کھویا ہوا پائے وہ اسے ڈھونڈنے کے لیے نکل کھڑا ہو یہاں تک کہ ایک بے آب و گیاہ میدان میں پہنچ جائے تھک ہار کر کہے کہ اب میں اپنی جگہ واپس چلتا ہوں اور موت کا انتظار کرتا ہوں چنانچہ وہ واپس پلٹے اور اپنے ہاتھ پر سر رکھے ہوئے ہو کہ اچانک اپنی اونٹنی کو اپنے سامنے کھڑا ہوا اور اپنے سامان اور کھانے پینے کی چیزوں کو اسی طرح دیکھے اللہ کی قسم! اللہ تعالیٰ تم میں سے کسی بندے کی توبہ پر اس شخص کی اونٹنی ملنے کی خوشی سے زیادہ خوش ہوتا ہے
Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya Allah Ta'ala tum mein se kisi ke tauba karne per us shakhs se zyada khush hota hai jo aik bayaban mein ho aur us ke sath us ki sawari wali oontni ho jis per us ka khana peena lada ho woh us ke saaye mein lait kar so jaye phir jab uthay to apni oontni ko khoya hua paaye woh usey dhoondne ke liye nikal khada ho yahan tak keh aik be ab o giyah maidan mein pahunch jaye thak haar kar kahay keh ab mein apni jagah wapas chalta hun aur mout ka intezar karta hun chunancha woh wapas paltay aur apne hath per sar rakhe huay ho keh achanak apni oontni ko apne samne khada hua aur apne saman aur khane peene ki cheezon ko usi tarah dekhe Allah ki qasam! Allah Ta'ala tum mein se kisi bande ki tauba per us shakhs ki oontni milne ki khushi se zyada khush hota hai
Abu Dharr reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said from Allah the Exalted, "O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I am the Forgiving, so ask forgiveness of Me."
حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اللہ تعالیٰ کا یہ فرمان سنایا: "اے میرے بندو! میں نے اپنے اوپر ظلم حرام کر لیا ہے اور تمہارے درمیان بھی اسے حرام قرار دیا ہے، لہٰذا تم میں سے کوئی کسی پر ظلم نہ کرے۔ اے میرے بندو! تم رات دن گناہ کرتے ہو اور میں بخشنے والا ہوں، سو مجھ سے اپنے گناہوں کی معافی مانگو۔"
Hazrat Abuzar Raziallahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne Allah Ta'ala ka ye farman sunaya: "Ae mere bando! Maine apne upar zulm haram kar liya hai aur tumhare darmiyan bhi use haram qarar diya hai, lihaza tum mein se koi kisi par zulm na kare. Ae mere bando! Tum raat din gunah karte ho aur main bakhshne wala hun, so mujh se apne gunahon ki maafi mango."
Aisha reported: One night, the Prophet said, "O Aisha, let me devote myself to the worship of my Lord tonight." I said, "By Allah, I love your closeness to me, and I love whatever pleases you." She said: So, he got up, performed ablution, and then stood up to pray. She said: And he continued to weep until his chest was soaked. She said: Then he wept, and he continued to weep until his beard was soaked. She said: Then he wept, and he continued to weep until the ground beneath him was soaked. Then Bilal came to call him for prayer. When he saw him weeping, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, why are you weeping when Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins?" He said, "Should I not be a grateful servant? Tonight, a verse has been revealed to me. Woe to him who recites it and does not reflect upon it: {Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth…}" (He recited the entire verse).
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا بیان کرتی ہیں کہ ایک رات نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا، ’’اے عائشہ! آج کی رات مجھے میرے رب کی عبادت کے لیے چھوڑ دو‘‘۔ میں نے عرض کیا، اللہ کی قسم! مجھے آپ کی قربت محبوب ہے اور جو چیز آپ کو پسند ہے وہ مجھے بھی محبوب ہے‘‘۔ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اٹھے اور وضو کیا پھر کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھنے لگے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم روتے رہے یہاں تک کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا سینہ مبارک آنسوؤں سے تر ہوگیا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم روئے یہاں تک کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی داڑھی مبارک تر ہوگئی، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم روئے یہاں تک کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے نیچے زمین تر ہوگئی، اتنے میں حضرت بلال رضی اللہ عنہ نماز کے لیے اذان دینے کے لیے آئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو روتے ہوئے دیکھ کر عرض کیا، ’’یا رسول اللہ! آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کیوں رو رہے ہیں حالانکہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اگلے پچھلے تمام گناہ معاف فرما دیے ہیں؟‘‘ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، ’’کیا میں ایک شکر گزار بندہ نہ بنوں؟ آج کی رات مجھ پر ایک سورت نازل ہوئی ہے، ہلاک ہو وہ شخص جس نے اسے پڑھا اور اس پر غور و فکر نہیں کیا {إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ … }‘‘ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوری آیت تلاوت فرمائی۔
Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha bayan karti hain keh aik raat Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne mujh se farmaya, ''Aye Ayesha! Aaj ki raat mujhe mere Rab ki ibadat ke liye chhor do''. Main ne arz kiya, Allah ki qasam! Mujhe aap ki qurbat mahboob hai aur jo cheez aap ko pasand hai woh mujhe bhi mahboob hai''. Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allahu Anha kehti hain keh aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam uthe aur wazu kiya phir kharay ho kar namaz parhne lage aur aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam rote rahe yahan tak keh aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ka seena mubarak aansuon se tar ho gaya, phir aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam roye yahan tak keh aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki darhi mubarak tar ho gayi, phir aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam roye yahan tak keh aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke neeche zameen tar ho gayi, itne mein Hazrat Bilal Radi Allahu Anhu namaz ke liye azan dene ke liye aye to aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko rote huye dekh kar arz kiya, ''Ya Rasulullah! Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam kyun ro rahe hain halankeh Allah Ta'ala ne aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke agle pichhle tamam gunah maaf farma diye hain? '' Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya, ''Kya main ek shukar guzar banda na banun? Aaj ki raat mujh par ek surat nazil hui hai, halaak ho woh shakhs jisne ise parha aur is par ghor o fikr nahin kiya {Inna fi khalqis samawati wal ardi ...}'' phir aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne poori ayat tilawat farmaee.
Abu Huraira narrated that:
The Prophet ﷺ mentioned happiness being brought (to a gathering), whereupon they mentioned the happiness of a man who finds his camel after having lost it. The Prophet ﷺ then said: “Allah is more delighted with the repentance of one of you than a man who finds his camel which he had lost in a waterless desert."
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خوشی کے ایک موقع کا ذکر فرمایا تو صحابہ کرام نے اس شخص کی خوشی کا ذکر کیا جسے اپنا اونٹ ویرانے میں کھونے کے بعد مل جاتا ہے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص کی توبہ پر زیادہ خوش ہوتا ہے جسے اپنا اونٹ ویرانے میں کھونے کے بعد مل جاتا ہے
Hazrat Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai keh Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne khushi ke aik mauqa ka zikar farmaya to Sahaba kiram ne us shakhs ki khushi ka zikar kiya jise apna unt viranay mein khone ke baad mil jata hai Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya Allah Ta'ala us shakhs ki tauba par ziada khush hota hai jise apna unt viranay mein khone ke baad mil jata hai
Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "A man committed a sin and said, 'My Lord, I have committed a sin, or he said, 'I have done a deed, so forgive me.' So the Blessed and Exalted said, 'My servant committed a sin and knew that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and takes [account of] it. I have already forgiven My servant.' Then he committed another sin, or he said, 'I have done another sin.' He said, 'My Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive me.' So the Blessed and Exalted said, 'My servant knew that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and takes [account of] it. I have already forgiven My servant.' Then he committed another sin or committed another sin. So he said, 'My Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive me.' So Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said, 'My servant knew that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and takes [account of] it. I bear witness to you that I have forgiven My servant, so let him do what he wishes.'"
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: "ایک آدمی نے گناہ کیا اور کہا، 'اے میرے رب! میں نے گناہ کیا ہے' یا اس نے کہا، 'میں نے ایک کام کیا ہے، تو مجھے معاف فرما دے'۔ تو اللہ عزوجل نے فرمایا، 'میرے بندے نے گناہ کیا اور اسے معلوم تھا کہ اس کا ایک رب ہے جو گناہوں کو معاف کرتا ہے اور ان کا حساب لیتا ہے۔ میں نے اپنے بندے کو معاف کر دیا ہے'۔ پھر اس نے ایک اور گناہ کیا، یا اس نے کہا، 'میں نے ایک اور گناہ کیا ہے'۔ اس نے کہا، 'اے میرے رب! میں نے گناہ کیا ہے، تو مجھے معاف فرما دے'۔ تو اللہ عزوجل نے فرمایا، 'میرے بندے کو معلوم تھا کہ اس کا ایک رب ہے جو گناہوں کو معاف کرتا ہے اور ان کا حساب لیتا ہے۔ میں نے اپنے بندے کو معاف کر دیا ہے'۔ پھر اس نے ایک اور گناہ کیا یا ایک اور گناہ کیا۔ تو اس نے کہا، 'اے میرے رب! میں نے گناہ کیا ہے، تو مجھے معاف فرما دے'۔ تو اللہ عزوجل نے فرمایا، 'میرے بندے کو معلوم تھا کہ اس کا ایک رب ہے جو گناہوں کو معاف کرتا ہے اور ان کا حساب لیتا ہے۔ میں تم پر گواہ ہوں کہ میں نے اپنے بندے کو معاف کر دیا ہے، اب وہ جو چاہے کرے'"۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah RA se riwayat hai keh Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya: "Ek aadmi ne gunah kiya aur kaha, 'Aye mere Rab! Maine gunah kiya hai' ya usne kaha, 'Maine ek kaam kiya hai, to mujhe maaf farma de'. To Allah Azzawajal ne farmaya, 'Mere bande ne gunah kiya aur use maloom tha keh us ka ek Rab hai jo gunaahon ko maaf karta hai aur un ka hisab leta hai. Maine apne bande ko maaf kar diya hai'. Phir usne ek aur gunah kiya, ya usne kaha, 'Maine ek aur gunah kiya hai'. Usne kaha, 'Aye mere Rab! Maine gunah kiya hai, to mujhe maaf farma de'. To Allah Azzawajal ne farmaya, 'Mere bande ko maloom tha keh us ka ek Rab hai jo gunaahon ko maaf karta hai aur un ka hisab leta hai. Maine apne bande ko maaf kar diya hai'. Phir usne ek aur gunah kiya ya ek aur gunah kiya. To usne kaha, 'Aye mere Rab! Maine gunah kiya hai, to mujhe maaf farma de'. To Allah Azzawajal ne farmaya, 'Mere bande ko maloom tha keh us ka ek Rab hai jo gunaahon ko maaf karta hai aur un ka hisab leta hai. Main tum par gawah hun keh maine apne bande ko maaf kar diya hai, ab woh jo chahe kare'".
Ali [ibn Abi Talib] said: When I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) Allah benefitted me with it however He willed to benefit me, until Abu Bakr narrated to me, and when one of his companions narrated to me from the Prophet (ﷺ), I would ask him to swear an oath [to confirm it]. So if he swore an oath, I would believe him. Abu Bakr narrated to me, and Abu Bakr spoke the truth, from the Prophet (ﷺ), that he said: "There is no person who commits a sin, then performs ablution, then prays two rak'ahs, then seeks forgiveness from Allah for that sin, but Allah will forgive him."
علی ابن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ جب میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کوئی حدیث سنتا تو اللہ مجھے اس سے فائدہ پہنچاتا جیسے وہ مجھے فائدہ پہنچانا چاہتا تھا، یہاں تک کہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھ سے روایت بیان کی اور جب آپ کے کسی صحابی نے مجھ سے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی حدیث بیان کی تو میں ان سے قسم مانگتا تھا [اس کی تصدیق کے لیے]۔ تو اگر وہ قسم کھاتے تو میں ان کی تصدیق کر دیتا۔ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھ سے روایت بیان کی اور حضرت ابوبکر صدیق سچے تھے، انہوں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، "جو شخص کوئی گناہ کرتا ہے پھر وضو کرتا ہے، پھر دو رکعات نماز پڑھتا ہے، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ سے اس گناہ کی بخشش مانگتا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اسے ضرور بخش دیتا ہے۔"
Ali ibne Abi Talib Radi Allahu Anhu ne kaha ke jab main Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se koi hadees sunta to Allah mujhe us se faida pahunchata jaise wo mujhe faida pahunchana chahta tha, yahan tak ke Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq Radi Allahu Anhu ne mujh se riwayat bayan ki aur jab aap ke kisi sahabi ne mujh se Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ki hadees bayan ki to main un se qasam mangta tha [is ki tasdeeq ke liye]. To agar wo qasam khate to main un ki tasdeeq kar deta. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq Radi Allahu Anhu ne mujh se riwayat bayan ki aur Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq sache the, unhon ne Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se riwayat ki ke aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya, "Jo shakhs koi gunah karta hai phir wazu karta hai, phir do rakat namaz parhta hai, phir Allah Ta'ala se us gunah ki bakhshish mangta hai to Allah Ta'ala use zaroor bakhsh deta hai."
Narrated Aisha: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her, "O Aisha, if you have committed a sin, then ask Allah for forgiveness and repent to Him, for if a slave acknowledges his sin and then asks Allah for forgiveness, Allah will forgive him."
حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: اے عائشہ! اگر تم سے کوئی گناہ ہو جائے تو اللہ سے معافی مانگو اور اس کی طرف رجوع کرو، کیونکہ جب بندہ اپنے گناہ کا اعتراف کرتا ہے اور پھر اللہ سے معافی مانگتا ہے تو اللہ اسے معاف فرما دیتا ہے۔
Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allaho Anha se riwayat hai keh Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne un se farmaya: Aye Ayesha! Agar tum se koi gunah ho jaye to Allah se maafi mango aur us ki taraf rujoo karo, kyunkeh jab banda apne gunah ka aitraaf karta hai aur phir Allah se maafi mangta hai to Allah use maaf farma deta hai.
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “My servant committed a sin and he said, ‘Oh Lord, I have sinned.’ Then Allah said, ‘My servant has sinned and he knew that I forgive sins and I punish for sins.’ Then he returned (to sinning) and said, ‘Oh Lord, I have sinned.’ Then Allah said, ‘My servant has sinned and he knew that I forgive sins and I punish for sins. Do what you wish, for I have forgiven you.’”
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میرے ایک بندے نے گناہ کیا اور کہنے لگا، ’اے میرے رب! میں نے گناہ کیا ہے۔‘ تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: ’میرے بندے نے گناہ کیا ہے اور وہ جانتا ہے کہ میں گناہوں کو معاف کرتا ہوں اور میں گناہوں پر سزا بھی دیتا ہوں۔‘ پھر اس نے (گناہ) کی طرف واپسی کی اور کہا، ’اے میرے رب! میں نے گناہ کیا ہے۔‘ تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: ’میرے بندے نے گناہ کیا ہے اور وہ جانتا ہے کہ میں گناہوں کو معاف کرتا ہوں اور میں گناہوں پر سزا بھی دیتا ہوں۔ اب تو جو چاہے کر میں نے تجھے معاف کر دیا ہے۔"
Hazrat Abu Huraira Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: “Mere ek bande ne gunah kiya aur kehne laga, ‘Aye mere Rab! Maine gunah kiya hai.’ To Allah Ta’ala ne farmaya: ‘Mere bande ne gunah kiya hai aur wo janta hai ki main gunahon ko maaf karta hun aur main gunahon per saza bhi deta hun.’ Phir usne (gunah) ki taraf wapsi ki aur kaha, ‘Aye mere Rab! Maine gunah kiya hai.’ To Allah Ta’ala ne farmaya: ‘Mere bande ne gunah kiya hai aur wo janta hai ki main gunahon ko maaf karta hun aur main gunahon per saza bhi deta hun. Ab to jo chahe kar maine tujhe maaf kar diya hai.’”
Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Allah forgives His servant as long as the veil does not fall." It was said: "And when does the veil fall?" He said: "When the soul departs while associating partners with Allah."
حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ” اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندے کی مغفرت کرتا رہتا ہے یہاں تک کہ پردہ نہ گر جائے “۔ کہا گیا: ” اور پردہ کب گرتا ہے؟ “۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ” جب جان شرک کرتے ہوئے نکلے “۔
Hazrat Abuzar razi Allah anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya: Allah taala apne bande ki maghfirat karta rehta hai yahan tak ki parda na gir jaye. Kaha gaya: Aur parda kab girta hai? Aap sallallahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya: Jab jaan shirk karte huye nikle.
Usamah ibn Salman reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah forgives His servant as long as the veil is not reached.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, and what is the veil being reached?” The Prophet said, “That the soul dies while associating partners with Allah.”
حضرت اسامہ بن سلمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”بے شک اللہ اپنے بندے کی مغفرت کرتا رہتا ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ اس کی حجاب تک نہ پہنچ جائے۔“ صحابہ نے پوچھا: ”اللہ کے رسول، حجاب تک پہنچنا کیا ہے؟“ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہ کہ وہ اللہ کے ساتھ شرک کرتے ہوئے مر جائے۔“
Hazrat Usama bin Salman Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: "Be shak Allah apne bande ki maghfirat karta rehta hai yahan tak ki woh uski hijab tak na pahunch jaye." Sahaba ne poocha: "Allah ke Rasul, hijab tak pahunchna kya hai?" Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: "Yeh ki woh Allah ke sath shirk karte hue mar jaye."
Ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Verily, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, will accept the repentance of His slave as long as he is not gasping (at the time of death)."
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا اللہ عزوجل اپنے بندے کی توبہ کو قبول فرماتا ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ (موت کے وقت) غرغرہ شروع نہ کردے۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar Radi Allahu Anhuma se riwayat hai ki Nabi SAW ne farmaya Allah Azzawajal apne bande ki tauba ko qubool farmata hai yahan tak ki woh mout ke waqt ghargara shuru na karde.
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever repents before the sun rises from its setting place, then Allah will accept his repentance."
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "جو شخص سورج کے مغرب سے نکلنے سے پہلے توبہ کر لے تو اللہ اس کی توبہ قبول فرما لیتا ہے"۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: "Jo shakhs sooraj ke maghrib se nikalne se pehle tauba kar le to Allah us ki tauba qubool farma leta hai".
Qatada reported that ‘Aun bin ‘Abdullah and Sa‘id bin Abi Burda told him that they both heard Abu Burda narrating from ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Aziz, from his father, from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said, “Whenever a Muslim man dies, Allah will admit in his place in the Fire, a Jew or a Christian.” ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Aziz then asked Abu Burda, invoking Allah thrice, “By Allah, besides Whom none has the right to be worshipped but He, did your father narrate that to you from Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” (meaning thrice) He (Abu Burda) took the oath (that it was so) but he did not narrate it to me. Sa‘id said, “He did not make him swear an oath.” He did not deny what ‘Aun had said.
قطادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہیں عون بن عبداللہ اور سعید بن ابی بردہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے بتایا کہ ہم دونوں نے ابو بردہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، وہ عمر بن عبدالعزیز رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں، وہ اپنے والد رضی اللہ عنہ سے اور وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ’’جب بھی کوئی مسلمان فوت ہوتا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی جگہ جہنم میں ایک یہودی یا ایک عیسائی کو داخل فرماتا ہے‘‘۔ عمر بن عبدالعزیز رضی اللہ عنہ نے ابوبردہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے تین مرتبہ اللہ کی قسم دے کر پوچھا کہ ’’اللہ کی قسم جس کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں، کیا آپ کے والد رضی اللہ عنہ نے آپ کو یہ حدیث اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنائی ہے؟‘‘ (یعنی تین مرتبہ) تو انہوں ںے قسم کھائی (کہ ایسا ہی ہے) لیکن انہوں نے مجھے یہ حدیث نہیں سنائی۔ سعید رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: ’’انہوں نے ان سے قسم نہیں لی تھی‘‘۔ البتہ انہوں نے عون کی بات کی تردید بھی نہیں کی۔
Qatada Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki unhen Awn bin Abdullah aur Saeed bin Abi Burda Radi Allahu Anhuma ne bataya ki hum donon ne Abu Burda Radi Allahu Anhu se suna, woh Umar bin Abdulaziz Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat karte hain, woh apne walid Radi Allahu Anhu se aur woh Nabi Akram Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se riwayat karte hain ki Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: ''Jab bhi koi Musalman foot hota hai to Allah Ta'ala uski jagah Jahannam mein ek Yahoodi ya ek Isaai ko dakhil farmata hai''. Umar bin Abdulaziz Radi Allahu Anhu ne Abu Burda Radi Allahu Anhu se teen martaba Allah ki qasam de kar poocha ki ''Allah ki qasam jis ke siwa koi ibadat ke layeq nahin, kya aap ke walid Radi Allahu Anhu ne aap ko yeh hadees Allah ke Rasool Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se sunaai hai?'' (yani teen martaba) to unhon ne qasam khai (ki aisa hi hai) lekin unhon ne mujhe yeh hadees nahin sunaai. Saeed Radi Allahu Anhu ne kaha: ''Unhon ne unse qasam nahin li thi''. Albatta unhon ne Awn ki baat ki tardid bhi nahin ki.
