Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 3904
(3904) Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed two rak'ahs (of prayer) and finished it with Taslim (salutation of peace ending the prayer). Then Dhul-yadain (RA) said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten?" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Has Dhul-yadain told the truth?" The people said, "Yes". The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then stood up and prayed another two rak'ahs. Then he finished it with Taslim and pronounced Takbir (Allahu-Akbar) and performed a prostration (sajdah) similar to his usual prostration or a bit longer than that, and then lifted his head, and then pronounced Takbir and performed another prostration (sajdah) like the first one, and then he lifted his head.

(٣٩٠٤) ابوہریرہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دو رکعتیں پڑھ کر سلام پھیر دیا تو ذوالیدین (رض) نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز کم ہوگئی ہے یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : کیا ذوالیدین سچ کہہ رہا ہے ؟ لوگوں نے کہا : جی ہاں تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کھڑے ہوئے اور دوسری دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں ۔ پھر سلام پھیرا، پھر تکبیر کہہ کر اپنے معمول کے سجدوں جیسا یا اس سے نسبتاً لمبا سجدہ کیا پھر سر اٹھایا اور تکبیر کہہ کر دوسرا سجدہ بھی ویسے ہی کیا پھر سر اٹھایا۔
(3904) Abu Hurairah (RA) bayan karte hain ki Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne do rakaten padh kar salam pher diya to Zulidayn (RA) ne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kya namaz kam ho gayi hai ya aap bhul gaye hain? Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Kya Zulidayn sach keh raha hai? Logon ne kaha: Ji haan. To Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kharay huye aur dusri do rakaten padhayi. Phir salam phera, phir takbeer keh kar apne mamuli sajdon jaisa ya is se nisbatan lamba sajdah kiya phir sar uthaya aur takbeer keh kar doosra sajdah bhi waise hi kiya phir sar uthaya.
(3905) (a) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in one of the prayers after the sun had passed its zenith, either Zuhr or Asr, but he prayed only two rak'ahs and then said the salam. He (ﷺ) stood up and placed his hands on a piece of wood, anger evident on his face. Those who were quick to leave stood up saying, "The prayer has been shortened! The prayer has been shortened!" Among the people were Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), but even they were hesitant to speak. A man whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to call Dhul-Yadayn (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Have you forgotten or has the prayer been shortened?" He (ﷺ) replied, "I have not forgotten, nor has the prayer been shortened." Dhul-Yadayn said, "Rather, you have forgotten." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned to the people and asked, "Is Dhul-Yadayn right?" The people gestured, "Yes." So, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned to his place and prayed the remaining two rak'ahs. Then, he said the salam, pronounced the takbir and performed a prostration like his usual prostrations or slightly longer. Then, he raised his head, said the takbir and prostrated again in the same way. He then raised his head and pronounced the takbir.
(b) The narrator said that someone asked Muhammad bin Sirin, "Did the Prophet (ﷺ) say the salam after the prostration of forgetfulness?" He replied, "I do not remember from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), but I was told that Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he (ﷺ) said the salam."

(٣٩٠٥) (ا) ابوہریرہ (رض) روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں زوال کے بعد کی نمازوں میں سے کوئی نماز ظہر یا عصر پڑھائی، لیکن ہمیں دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں، پھر سلام پھیر دیا اور آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کھڑے ہوگئے اور اپنے ہاتھ لکڑی کے اوپر رکھ دیے۔ غصہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے چہرے سے عیاں تھا۔ جلدی نکلنے والے لوگ یہ کہتے ہوئے نکل کھڑے ہوئے کہ نماز کم ہوگئی، نماز کم ہوگئی۔ لوگوں میں ابوبکر و عمر (رض) بھی تھے لیکن وہ دونوں بھی بات کرنے سے گھبرا گئے۔ ایک شخص کھڑا ہوا جسے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ذوالیدین (رض) کے نام سے پکارا کرتے تھے ، اس نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا آپ بھول گئے ہیں یا کہ نماز کم ہوگئی ہے ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نہ میں بھول گیا ہوں اور نہ نماز کم ہوئی ہے۔ اس نے کہا : نہیں آپ بھول گئے ہیں۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا : کیا ذوالیدین (رض) ٹھیک کہہ رہا ہے ؟ لوگوں نے اشارہ کیا : جی ہاں تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اپنی جگہ واپس تشریف لائے باقی دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں پھر سلام پھیر کر تکبیر کہی اور اپنے معمول کے سجدوں جیسا یا ان سے کچھ لمبا سجدہ کیا ، پھر سر اٹھایا اور تکبیر کہہ کر ویسا ہی سجدہ کیا پھر سر اٹھایا اور تکبیر کہی۔
(ب) راوی بیان کرتے ہیں کہ محمد بن سیرین سے کسی نے پوچھا : کیا سجدہ سہو کے بعد آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سلام پھیرا ؟ انھوں نے کہا : ابوہریرہ (رض) سے تو مجھے یاد نہیں لیکن مجھے بتایا گیا کہ عمران بن حصین (رض) نے کہا کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سلام پھیرا۔
(3905) (a) Abu Hurairah (RA) riwayat karte hain keh Rasul Allah (SAW) ne hamen zawal ke baad ki namaazon mein se koi namaz Zuhr ya Asr parhayi, lekin hamen do rakaat parhaen, phir salaam pher diya aur aap (SAW) kharay hogaye aur apne hath lakri ke upar rakh diye. Gussa aap (SAW) ke chehre se ayaan tha. Jaldi nikalne wale log yeh kehte hue nikal kharay hue keh namaz kam hogayi, namaz kam hogayi. Logon mein Abubakar o Umar (RA) bhi thay lekin woh donon bhi baat karne se ghabra gaye. Ek shakhs khara hua jise Rasul Allah (SAW) ZulYadain (RA) ke naam se pukara karte thay, usne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Kya aap bhool gaye hain ya keh namaz kam hogayi hai? Aap (SAW) ne farmaya: Na main bhool gaya hun aur na namaz kam hui hai. Usne kaha: Nahin aap bhool gaye hain. Rasul Allah (SAW) logon ki taraf mutawajjah hue aur farmaya: Kya ZulYadain (RA) theek keh raha hai? Logon ne ishara kiya: Jee haan to Rasul Allah (SAW) apni jagah wapas tashreef laaye baqi do rakaat parhaen phir salaam pher kar takbeer kahi aur apne mamul ke sajdon jaisa ya un se kuchh lamba sajdah kiya, phir sar uthaya aur takbeer keh kar waisa hi sajdah kiya phir sar uthaya aur takbeer kahi.
(b) Rawi bayan karte hain keh Muhammad bin Sirin se kisi ne puchha: Kya sajdah sahw ke baad aap (SAW) ne salaam phera? Unhon ne kaha: Abu Hurairah (RA) se to mujhe yaad nahin lekin mujhe bataya gaya keh Imran bin Husain (RA) ne kaha keh aap (SAW) ne salaam phera.
(3906) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) led us in the Zuhr or 'Asr prayer and offered two rak'ahs and then pronounced the salutation. Thereupon Dhu'l-yadain (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been reduced or have you forgotten? Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked his Companions: Did Dhu'l-yadain tell the truth? They said: Yes. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) stood up and offered the remaining two rak'ahs and then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.
Shu'ba (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw 'Urwa b. Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) offering the Maghrib prayer, and he observed two rak'ahs and then pronounced the salutation and talked, and then completed his prayer, and said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did like this.

(٣٩٠٦) ابوہریرہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ہمیں ظہر یا عصر کی نماز دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا تو ذوالیدین (رض) نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز کم ہوگئی ہے یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنے صحابہ سے پوچھا : کیا ذوالیدین (رض) سچ کہہ رہا ہے ؟ انھوں نے کہا : جی ہاں تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دوسری دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں پھر سہو کے دو سجدے کیے۔
شعبہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ سعد (رض) نے فرمایا : میں نے عروہ بن زبیر (رض) کو دیکھا کہ انھوں نے مغرب کی نماز دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا اور باتیں کی۔ اس کے بعد باقی نماز پڑھی اور فرمایا : اس طرح رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے بھی کیا تھا۔

Kya namaz kam ho gayi hai ya aap bhul gaye hain? Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne apne sahaba se pucha: Kya Zul Yadayn (RA) sach keh raha hai? Unhon ne kaha: Ji haan to aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne dusri do rakaten padhain phir sahu ke do sajday kiye.
Shaba (RA) bayan karte hain ki Saad (RA) ne farmaya: Maine Urwah bin Zubair (RA) ko dekha ki unhon ne Maghrib ki namaz do rakat padha kar salam pher diya aur baaten ki. Iss ke baad baqi namaz padhi aur farmaya: Iss tarah Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne bhi kiya tha.
(3907) (a) Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Once I prayed the Zuhr (afternoon) prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He prayed two rak'ahs (units of prayer) and then finished the prayer with Taslim (salutation of peace). A man from the tribe of Banu Salim stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The prayer has not been shortened, nor have I forgotten." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have prayed only two rak'ahs." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Is Dhul-Yadayn (meaning the man who had two hands, referring to the man from Banu Salim) saying the truth?" The Companions replied, "Yes." So, he (the Prophet) prayed the remaining two rak'ahs.
(b) The narrator said that Dhamdham narrated to him that he heard it from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he (the Prophet) then performed two prostrations (sajdah) of forgetfulness.

(٣٩٠٧) (ا) ابوہریرہ (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ ظہر کی نماز پڑھی، آپ نے دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا تو بنو سلیم قبیلے کا ایک شخص کھڑا ہو کر بولا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز کم ہوگئی ہے یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نہ نماز کم ہوئی اور نہ میں بھولا ہوں ؟ تو وہ بولا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! آپ نے دو رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : کیا ذوالیدین درست کہہ رہا ہے ؟ صحابہ نے بتایا : جی ہاں تو آپ نے بقیہ دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں۔
(ب) راوی بیان کرتے ہیں کہ مجھے ضمضم نے حدیث بیان کی کہ اس نے ابوہریرہ (رض) سے سنا کہ پھر آپ نے دو سجدے کیے۔
(3907) (a) Abu Hurairah (RA) bayan karte hain ki aik martaba maine Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke saath Zuhr ki namaz parhi, aap ne do rakat parh kar salaam pher diya to Banu Salim qabeele ka aik shakhs khada ho kar bola: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Kya namaz kam ho gayi hai ya aap bhool gaye hain? Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Na namaz kam hui aur na main bhoola hun? To wo bola: Aye Allah ke Rasool! Aap ne do rakaten parhi hain. Rasool Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne poocha: Kya Zuwaalidain durust keh raha hai? Sahaba ne bataya: Jee haan to aap ne baqi do rakaten parhaen.
(b) Ravi bayan karte hain ki mujhe Zamzam ne hadees bayan ki ki usne Abu Hurairah (RA) se suna ki phir aap ne do sajde kiye.
(3908) This hadith is narrated in another chain. In it, Abu Bakr bin Sulaiman bin Abi Hatham narrates that it reached him that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed two rak'ahs and finished with the Salam. Then, Dhu'l-Shamalayn bin 'Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten?" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The prayer has not been shortened, nor have I forgotten." Dhu'l-Shamalayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Something must have happened." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned towards the people and asked, "Is Dhu'l-Shamalayn correct?" They said, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and completed the rest of the prayer and did not perform the two prostrations (sajdah) that are done when one has doubt in the prayer.

(٣٩٠٨) ایک دوسری سند سے یہ حدیث منقول ہے اس میں ابوبکر بن سلیمان بن ابی حثمہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ انھیں یہ بات پہنچی ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا تو ذو الشمالین بن عبد (رض) نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز کم ہوگئی ہے یا آپ بھولے ہیں ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نہ نماز کم ہوئی ہے اور نہ میں بھولا ہوں۔ ذوالشمالین (رض) نے عرض کیا : کچھ نہ کچھ ہوا ہے۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) لوگوں کی طرف مڑے اور پوچھا : کیا ذوالشمالین صحیح کہہ رہا ہے ؟ تو انھوں نے کہا : جی ہاں۔ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کھڑے ہوئے اور باقی نماز مکمل کی اور دو سجدے نہیں کیے جو اس وقت کیے جاتے ہیں جب نماز میں شک پڑجائے۔
(3908) aik dosri sand se ye hadees manqool hai is mein abubakar bin sulaiman bin abi hatma bayan karte hain ke unhen ye baat pahunchi hai ke rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne do rakat padh kar salam pher diya to zool shaleheen bin abd (rz) ne kaha ae allah ke rasool kya namaz kam hogayi hai ya aap bhoole hain rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya na namaz kam hui hai aur na main bhoola hun zool shaleheen (rz) ne arz kiya kuch na kuch hua hai rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) logon ki taraf mude aur poocha kya zool shaleheen sahi keh raha hai to unhon ne kaha ji haan rasool allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) khde hue aur baqi namaz mukammal ki aur do sajde nahi kiye jo is waqt kiye jate hain jab namaz mein shak pad jaye
(3909) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the Zuhr or 'Asr prayer and ended it with Taslim after two rak'ahs. Thereupon, Dhu'l-Yadayn ibn 'Abd 'Amr, an ally of Banu Zuhrah, said: "O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What does Dhu'l-Yadayn say?" The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "He speaks the truth, O Messenger of Allah! You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made them complete the remaining two rak'ahs."
(b) Zuhri (may Allah be pleased with him) states that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed two prostrations after finishing the prayer.
(c) This Hadith indicates that they did not mention the two prostrations, although he had performed them and they were informed about them.
(d) Muhammad bin Sirin narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sa'd bin Ibrahim narrated from Abu Salamah and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.

(٣٩٠٩) (ا) ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ظہر یا عصر کی نماز پڑھائی تو دو رکعتوں کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا تو ذو الشمالین بن عبد عمرو جو بنی زہرہ کا حلیف تھا نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز میں تخفیف کردی گئی ہے یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں ؟ تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ذوالیدین کیا کہہ رہا ہے ؟ صحابہ (رض) نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے نبی ! سچ کہہ رہا ہے۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انھیں دو رکعتیں مکمل کروائیں جو رہ گئی تھیں۔
(ب) زہری (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فارغ ہونے کے بعد دو سجدے کیے۔
(ج) یہ حدیث اس بات پر دلالت کر رہی ہے کہ انھوں نے دو سجدوں کا ذکر نہیں کیا حالانکہ انھوں نے وہ دو سجدے کیے ہیں اور ان سے انہی کے بارے میں خبر دی گئی ہے۔
(د) محمد بن سیرین ابی ہریرہ (رض) سے اور سعد بن ابراہیم ابو سلمہ اور ابی ہریرہ (رض) سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سہو کے دو سجدے کیے تھے۔
(3909) (a) Abu Huraira (ra) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Zuhr ya Asr ki namaz padhai to do rakaton ke baad salam pher diya to Zu al-Shamalayn bin Abd Amr jo Bani Zahra ka halif tha ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Kya namaz mein takhfif kardi gayi hai ya aap bhul gaye hain? To Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: Zul yadain kya keh raha hai? Sahaba (ra) ne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Nabi! Sach keh raha hai. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne unhen do rakaten mukammal karwai jo reh gayi thin.
(b) Zuhri (ra) bayan karte hain ki phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farigh hone ke baad do sajde kiye.
(c) Yeh hadees is baat par dalalat kar rahi hai ki unhon ne do sajdon ka zikr nahi kiya halanki unhon ne woh do sajde kiye hain aur unse unhi ke bare mein khabar di gayi hai.
(d) Muhammad bin Sirin Abi Huraira (ra) se aur Sa'd bin Ibrahim Abu Salama aur Abi Huraira (ra) se naql karte hain ki Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne sahu ke do sajde kiye the.
(3910) (a) It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the afternoon prayer and after two rak'ahs he said the Salam. Dhu'l-Yadayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Messenger of Allah! Have you forgotten or has the prayer been shortened?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Neither of these two things has happened.” He said: “Then something has happened.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned to the people and said: “Is Dhu'l-Yadayn right?” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) completed the remaining two rak'ahs and said the Salam and after the Salam he performed two prostrations while sitting.
(b) In one narration it says: "Pray for us, O Messenger of Allah."

(٣٩١٠) (ا) ابوہریرہ (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عصر کی نماز پڑھائی تو دو رکعتوں کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا۔ ذوالیدین (رض) نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! آپ بھول گئے ہیں یا نماز کم ہوگئی ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : ان میں سے کچھ بھی نہیں ہوا۔ اس نے کہا : کچھ نہ کچھ ہوا ہے ؟ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور پوچھا : کیا ذوالیدین صحیح کہہ رہا ہے ؟ صحابہ (رض) نے کہا : ہاں اے اللہ کے رسول ! تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے باقی دو رکعتیں مکمل کیں اور سلام پھیرا پھر سلام کے بعد بیٹھے بیٹھے دو سجدے کیے۔
(ب) ایک روایت میں ہے : ” صلی لنا رسول اللہ ﷺ“
(3910) (a) Abu Hurairah (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Asr ki namaz parhai to do rakaton ke baad salam phir diya. Zawal Yadain (RA) ne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Aap bhul gaye hain ya namaz kam ho gayi? Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: In mein se kuchh bhi nahin hua. Usne kaha: Kuchh na kuchh hua hai? Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) logon ki taraf mutawajjah huye aur poocha: Kya Zawal Yadain sahih keh raha hai? Sahaba (RA) ne kaha: Haan, Aye Allah ke Rasul! To aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne baqi do rakatein mukammal keen aur salam phirra phir salam ke baad baithe baithe do sajde kiye.
(b) Ek riwayat mein hai: "Sali lana Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم))"
Narrated Ibn `Umar (RA): The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in prayer, but forgot (the number of Rak'ah), and offered two Rak'ah and then made Taslim. A man called Dhu'l-Yadain said: "O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten?" He (ﷺ) said: "Neither the prayer has been shortened, nor have I forgotten." He said: "But you have offered two Rak'ah." He (ﷺ) said: "Is it as Dhu'l-Yadain says?" They (the Companions) said: "Yes." Ibn `Umar (RA) said: So he (ﷺ) went forward and offered two (more) Rak'ah, then made Taslim and performed two prostrations of Sahw.

(٣٩١١) ابن عمر (رض) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نماز پڑھائی تو بھول گئے اور دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا تو ایک شخص جسے ذوالیدین کہا جاتا تھا نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز کم ہوگئی یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں ؟ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا : نہ نماز کم ہوئی اور نہ ہی میں بھولا ہوں۔ اس نے کہا : آپ نے دو رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے پوچھا : کیا ایسے ہی ہے جیسے ذوالیدین کہہ رہا ہے ؟ صحابہ کرام (رض) نے کہا : جی ہاں ! ابن عمر (رض) فرماتے ہیں : آپ نے آگے بڑھ کر دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں، پھر سلام پھیرا اور سہو کے دو سجدے کیے۔
(3911) Ibn Umar (RA) se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne namaz parhai to bhul gaye aur do rakaten parh kar salaam pher diya to ek shakhs jise Dhulyadein kaha jata tha ne arz kiya : Aye Allah ke Rasul! kya namaz kam ho gayi ya aap bhul gaye hain? Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya : Na namaz kam hui aur na hi main bhula hun. Usne kaha : Aap ne do rakaten parhi hain. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne pucha : Kya aise hi hai jaise Dhulyadein keh raha hai? Sahaba karam (RA) ne kaha : Ji haan! Ibn Umar (RA) farmate hain : Aap ne aage badh kar do rakaten parhai, phir salaam phera aur sahu ke do sajde kiye.
(3912) (a) Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed three rak'ahs of the 'Asr prayer and then finished the prayer with Taslim (saying salam). Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to (his house). A man, who was called Kharbaq and had long arms, stood up to him and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened?”. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out dragging his sheet in anger and asked, "Is he telling the truth?” The people said, “Yes!”. So, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and offered that rak'ah (which he had missed) then finished the prayer with Taslim (saying salam) and performed two prostrations of forgetfulness then finished the prayer with Taslim.
(b) The words of Ibn 'Aliyyah are: “Then he entered his house.” The rest of his narration is the same in meaning.

(٣٩١٢) (ا) عمران بن حصین (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے عصر کی نماز کی تین رکعتیں پڑھ کر سلام پھیر دیا، پھر (اپنے گھر) چلے گئے۔ ایک شخص ان کی طرف کھڑا ہوا جسے خرباق کہا جاتا ہے وہ لمبے ہاتھوں والا تھا، بولا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز کم ہوگئی ہے ؟ تو رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) غصہ کی حالت میں چادر گھسیٹتے ہوئے نکلے اور پوچھا : کیا یہ سچ کہہ رہا ہے ؟ لوگوں نے کہا : جی ہاں ! آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کھڑے ہوئے اور وہ رکعت ادا کی (جو رہ گئی تھی) پھر سلام پھیرا اور دو سجدے کئے پھر سلام پھیرا۔
(ب) ابن علیہ کے الفاظ ہیں : ” ثم دخل بمنزلہ “ باقی اس کے بمعنی روایت ہے۔
(3912) (a) Imran bin Husain (Razi Allahu Anhu) bayan karte hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Asr ki namaz ki teen rakaten padh kar salam pher diya, phir (apne ghar) chale gaye. Ek shakhs un ki taraf khara hua jise Kharbaq kaha jata hai woh lambe hathon wala tha, bola: Aye Allah ke Rasul! kya namaz kam ho gayi hai? To Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ghussa ki halat mein chadar ghaseette hue nikle aur poocha: kya yeh sach keh raha hai? Logon ne kaha: ji haan! Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kharay hue aur woh rakat ada ki (jo reh gayi thi) phir salam phera aur do sajday kiye phir salam phera.
(b) Ibn Aliyah ke alfaz hain: "Thumma dakhal bi manzila" baqi uske bemani riwayat hai.
Mu'awiya bin Hudayj (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that one day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer. When only one unit (rak'ah) of the prayer remained, he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer (with taslim) and left. A man followed him (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! You forgot one rak'ah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) returned to the mosque, ordered Bilal to pronounce the call to prayer (iqamah), and then led the people in that remaining rak'ah. I told the people about this incident. They asked: "Do you recognize that man?" I said: "No, but if I see him, I will recognize him." Once, that man passed by me and I said: "This is the man!" They said: "This is Talha bin 'Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him)."

(٣٩١٣) معاویہ بن حدیج (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ایک دن نماز پڑھائی۔ ابھی ایک رکعت باقی تھی کہ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے سلام پھیر دیا اور چلے گئے۔ ایک شخص نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو پالیا اور عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! آپ ایک رکعت بھول گئے ہیں۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) واپس پلٹے مسجد میں داخل ہوئے ، بلال کو نماز کھڑی کرنے کا حکم دیا پھر آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے لوگوں کو وہ رکعت پڑھائی۔ میں نے اس بارے میں لوگوں کو بتایا تو انھوں نے کہا : کیا تم اس شخص کو پہچانتے ہو ؟ میں نے کہا : نہیں ہاں اگر اس کو دیکھ لوں تو پہچان لوں گا۔ ایک دفعہ وہ شخص میرے پاس سے گزرا تو میں نے کہا : وہ رہا آدمی ! انھوں نے کہا : یہ تو طلحہ بن عبید اللہ (رض) ہیں۔
(3913) Muawiya bin Hadij (RA) bayan karte hain ki Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne ek din namaz parhayi. Abhi ek rakat baqi thi ki aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne salaam pher diya aur chale gaye. Ek shakhs ne aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko pa liya aur arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Aap ek rakat bhul gaye hain. Aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) wapas palte masjid mein dakhil hue, Bilal ko namaz khari karne ka hukum diya phir aap ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne logon ko woh rakat parhayi. Maine is baare mein logon ko bataya to unhon ne kaha: Kya tum is shakhs ko pehchante ho? Maine kaha: Nahin haan agar isko dekh loon to pehchan lunga. Ek dafa woh shakhs mere paas se guzara to maine kaha: Woh raha aadmi! Unhon ne kaha: Yeh to Talha bin Ubaidullah (RA) hain.
Mu'awiya bin al-Hakam (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I prayed the Maghrib prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He forgot and concluded the prayer after two rak'ahs. Then he got up and left. A man said: "O Messenger of Allah! You have forgotten and concluded the prayer after two rak'ahs." So, he instructed Bilal to lead the prayer, and he completed the rak'ah. I asked the people about the man who had told the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he had forgotten. They said: "Do you know him?" I said: "No, but if I see him I will recognize him." One day, that man passed by me and I said: "This is the man!" They said: "This is Talha bin 'Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him)."

(٣٩١٤) معاویہ بن حدیج (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ مغرب کی نماز پڑھی، آپ بھول گئے اور دو رکعتوں کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا۔ پھر اٹھ کر چلے گئے تو ایک شخص نے عرض کیا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! آپ بھول گئے ہیں آپ نے دو رکعتوں کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا ہے تو آپ نے بلال کو نماز کھڑی کرنے کا حکم دیا، پھر وہ رکعت مکمل کی۔ میں نے لوگوں سے اس شخص کے بارے میں دریافت کیا جس نے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو کہا تھا کہ آپ بھول گئے ہیں تو مجھے کہا گیا کیا : تم اسے جانتے ہو ؟ میں نے کہا : نہیں مگر اس کو دیکھ لوں تو پہچان سکتا ہوں۔ ایک روز میرے پاس سے وہ شخص گزرا تو میں نے کہا : یہ رہا وہ آدمی ! انھوں نے کہا : یہ تو طلحہ بن عبید اللہ (رض) ہیں۔
3914 Muawiya bin Hadijj (Razi Allah Anhu) bayan karte hain ki maine Rasul Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sath Maghrib ki namaz parhi, Aap bhool gaye aur do rakaton ke bad salam phir diya. Phir uth kar chale gaye to ek shakhs ne arz kiya: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Aap bhool gaye hain, Aap ne do rakaton ke bad salam phir diya hai to Aap ne Bilal ko namaz khari karne ka hukum diya, phir woh rakat mukammal ki. Maine logon se is shakhs ke bare mein دریافت kiya jisne Rasul ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ko kaha tha ki Aap bhool gaye hain to mujhe kaha gaya kya: Tum usay jante ho? Maine kaha: Nahin magar usko dekh loon to pehchan sakta hun. Ek roz mere pass se woh shakhs guzar to maine kaha: Ye raha woh aadmi! Unhon ne kaha: Ye to Talha bin Ubaidullah (Razi Allah Anhu) hain.
Ata' bin Abi Rabah narrated: Ibn az-Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) led the people in Maghrib prayer and offered two rak'ahs and then finished with the Salam. Then he stood up to touch the Black Stone. He looked back and saw the people were still sitting. Ata' bin Abi Rabah said: He came back and offered us the rest of the prayer and finished it with Salam and performed two prostrations. Ibn az-Zubair said: I immediately went to Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and asked him about it. He said: Well, well! By Allah! What did your father do? I told him what he had done. Ibn 'Abbas said: He did not exceed the Sunnah of his Prophet.

(٣٩١٥) عطاء بن ابی رباح بیان کرتے ہیں : ابن زبیر (رض) نے لوگوں کو مغرب کی نماز دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں اور دو رکعتوں کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا۔ پھر وہ حجر اسود کا استلام کرنے کے لیے کھڑے ہوگئے۔ انھوں نے پیچھے دیکھا تو لوگ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ عطا بن ابی رباح کہتے ہیں : وہ واپس آئے اور وہ باقی رکعت ہمیں پڑھائی، پھر سلام پھیرا اور دو سجدے کیے۔ ابن زبیر بیان کرتے ہیں : میں فوراً ابن عباس (رض) کے پاس گیا تو میں نے ان سے اس بارے میں پوچھا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : بس بس ! اللہ کی قسم ! تیرے باپ نے کیا کیا ؟ میں نے وہ بات دھرائی تو انھوں نے فرمایا : انھوں نے اپنے نبی کی سنت سے زیادتی نہیں کی۔
(3915) Ata bin Abi Rabah bayan karte hain : Ibn Zubair (RA) ne logon ko Maghrib ki namaz do rakaten parhaeen aur do rakato ke baad salam phair diya. Phir woh Hajar Aswad ka istelaam karne ke liye khare hogaye. Unhon ne peeche dekha to log baithe hue the. Ata bin Abi Rabah kahte hain : Woh wapas aaye aur woh baqi rakat hamen parhaee, phir salam pheira aur do sajde kiye. Ibn Zubair bayan karte hain : Main foran Ibn Abbas (RA) ke paas gaya to main ne un se is bare mein poocha to unhon ne farmaya : Bas bas! Allah ki qasam! Tere baap ne kya kya? Main ne woh baat dharaee to unhon ne farmaya : Unhon ne apne Nabi ki sunnat se zyadati nahin ki.
In another narration of the same hadith reported from `Ata' bin Abi Rabah, he added: When we said Subhan Allah, he paid attention to us and said, "Have we not finished the prayer?" We said, "Subhan Allah," indicating with our heads that we had not finished. And he mentioned from Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) only this much: "He did not abandon the Sunnah of his Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."

(٣٩١٦) دوسری سند سے اسی جیسی حدیث عطاء بن ابی رباح سے منقول ہے۔ اس میں انھوں نے یہ اضافہ کیا کہ ہم سبحان اللہ کہنے لگے تو انھوں نے ہماری طرف توجہ کی اور فرمایا : کیا ہم نے نماز مکمل نہیں کی ؟ ہم نے اپنے سروں کے ساتھ اشارہ کرتے ہوئے سبحان اللہ کہا یعنی مکمل نہیں کی اور انھوں نے ابن عباس (رض) کا قول صرف اتنا ہی ذکر کیا : ” مَا أَمَاطَ عَنْ سُنَّۃِ نَبِیِّہِ ﷺ“
(3916) Dusri sand se isi jaisi hadees Ata bin Abi Rabah se manqol hai Is mein unhon ne ye izafa kya ke hum Subhan Allah kehne lage to unhon ne hamari taraf tawajja ki aur farmaya kya hum ne namaz mukammal nahi ki hum ne apne saron ke sath ishara karte hue Subhan Allah kaha yani mukammal nahi ki aur unhon ne Ibn Abbas (RA) ka qol sirf itna hi zikar kya Ma amatta an sunnati nabiyyi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم))
Ata' (RA) reported: Ibn Zubair (RA) led the Maghrib prayer and ended it with Tasleem after offering two rak'ahs. Then he stood up (to leave) in haste whereupon the people said: Subhan Allah (Glorified be Allah). He said: What is the matter with them? Then he came back and offered one rak'ah and then performed two prostrations (of forgetfulness). I came to Ibn Abbas (RA) and made a mention of this act of Ibn Zubair (RA) to him. He said: He did not go against the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ).
Imam Baihaqi (RA) says: By Ibn Zubair (RA) is meant Abdullah Ibn Zubair (RA).

(٣٩١٧) عطاء (رح) سے روایت ہے کہ ابن زبیر (رض) نے مغرب کی نماز پڑھائی اور دو رکعتیں پڑھنے کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا۔ پھر جلدی سے اٹھ کر جانے لگے تو لوگوں نے سبحان اللہ کہا، وہ بولے : انھیں کیا ہوگیا ہے ؟ پھر آئے اور ایک رکعت پڑھی، پھر دو سجدے۔ میں ابن عباس (رض) کے پاس آیا اور انھیں ابن زبیر (رض) کے فعل کے بارے میں بتایا تو انھوں نے فرمایا : انھوں نے نبی کی سنت سے تجاوز نہیں کیا۔
امام بیہقی (رح) فرماتے ہیں : ابن زبیر (رض) سے مراد عبداللہ بن زبیر (رض) ہیں۔
Ata se riwayat hai ki Ibn Zubair ne Maghrib ki namaz parhai aur do rakat padhne ke baad salam pher diya Phir jaldi se uth kar jane lage to logon ne Subhan Allah kaha wo bole inhen kya hogaya hai Phir aaye aur ek rakat parhi phir do sijde Main Ibn Abbas ke pass aaya aur unhen Ibn Zubair ke fail ke bare mein bataya to unhon ne farmaya inhon ne Nabi ki sunnat se tajawuz nahin kiya Imam Bayhaqi farmate hain Ibn Zubair se murad Abdullah bin Zubair hain
Mu'awiya bin Hakam Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Once we were praying with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), when a worshiper sneezed. I said, "Yarhamuk Allah (May Allah have mercy on you)." People started looking at me. I said, "May your mothers lose you, why are you looking at me?" They started slapping their thighs. When I saw that they wanted to silence me (I got angry) but I kept quiet. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, (may my parents be sacrificed for you) I said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have never seen a more compassionate and merciful teacher than you. You did not hit me, nor did you scold me, nor did you say anything bad to me. You only said, 'This is prayer, it is not permissible to talk to people in it, it is only for glorifying Allah, reciting Takbir and reciting the Quran,' or something similar to that.”

(٣٩١٨) معاویہ بن حکم اسلمی (رض) بیان کرتے ہیں : ایک مرتبہ ہم رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ساتھ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے تو ایک نمازی نے چھینک ماری۔ میں نے ” یرحمک اللہ “ کہہ دیا۔ لوگ میری طرف دیکھنے لگے۔ میں نے کہا : تمہاری مائیں تمہیں گم پائیں تم مجھے کیوں دیکھ رہے ہو ؟ انھوں نے رانوں پر ہاتھ مارنے شروع کیے جب میں نے دیکھا کہ وہ مجھے خاموش کرانا چاہتے ہیں (تو میں ناراض ہوا) لیکن خاموش ہوگیا۔ جب رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نماز سے فارغ ہوئے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر میرے والدین قربان ہوں۔ میں نے آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے بڑھ کر مشفق و مہربان معلم نہیں دیکھا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے نہ مجھے مارا نہ ڈانٹا اور نہ ہی برا بھلا کہا بلکہ آپ نے صرف اتنا فرمایا : یہ نماز ہے، اس میں لوگوں سے باتیں کرنا جائز نہیں، اس میں تو تسبیح ‘ تکبیر اور تلاوتِ قرآن ہوتی ہے یا اس سے ملتی جلتی بات فرمائی۔
Muawiya bin Hakam Islami (RA) bayan karte hain : Ek martaba hum Rasul Allah (SAW) ke sath namaz parh rahe the to ek namazi ne chheenk maari. Maine “Yarhamuk Allah” keh diya. Log meri taraf dekhne lage. Maine kaha : Tumhari mayein tumhein gum payein tum mujhe kyun dekh rahe ho? Unhon ne raanon par hath maarne shuru kiye jab maine dekha ke woh mujhe khamosh karana chahte hain (to main naraaz hua) lekin khamosh hogaya. Jab Rasul Allah (SAW) namaz se farigh huye, aap (SAW) par mere waldain qurban hon. Maine aap (SAW) se badh kar mushfiq o meharban mu'allim nahin dekha. Aap (SAW) ne na mujhe mara na daanta aur na hi bura bhala kaha balki aap ne sirf itna farmaya : Yeh namaz hai, is mein logon se baatein karna jaiz nahin, is mein to tasbeeh, takbeer aur tilawat e Quran hoti hai ya is se milti julti baat farmaayi.
